Aesthete Coffee + Kitchen in Sheffield

This is me and my friends new fave place to go to for brunch! I had the chicken gnocchi bowl which was delicious followed by the cheesecake berry brownie which was so gooey and lovely. The staff are lovely here too. Clean, tidy and perfect for a gluten free person like myself. I've had the pancakes previously and they are amazing too never had a bad meal here!

What a wonderful find this was! Arriving at 9am meant we had the place to ourselves for the best part of an hour, and we didn’t feel rushed at all once people began to pile in at 10. I loved the homey decor and mismatched dish ware, and the reception was as warm and friendly as you’d expect in Yorkshire. Our tea and coffee came quickly, and the food we ordered was both delicious and came in decent sized portions. Recommend for a lovely catch up with friends!

Now this place was a revelation, great food great service and great atmosphere. You really need to visit this place to find out for yourself. My only problem posting this is I may find it difficult to get a table easily after you've tried it for yourself.

I am super grateful for the gluten-free option, the pancakes were delicious! Just the right amount of maple sauce haha ​​I will come back again! The only minus, the tables smelled of old cloth.

Went with my partner today for the first time. Staff were absolutely wonderful and so kind! The food was incredible and the cakes were INCREDIBLE. The carrot and orange cake was the best cake I’ve ever had! We will absolutely be coming back here :)

Omg the Italian toastie is bombbbbbbbb!!! Wish I could get some spicy mayo to go with it. Hot choc was fab too. It's my fav staple now. Even the eggs royale is great when it's buttery (a long haired male chef makes them and brings them to you with the nicest smile) Eggs benny has a thick meat cut and i prefer crispy bacon instead which they don't do.

Uno de los favoritos de Sheffield, también han estado en el Crosspool, ya que el menú siempre tiene algo diferente y un poco más especial que en cualquier otro lugar. El tablero de Especiales a menudo tiene algo nuevo que probar. Me gusta disfrutar y saborear un café antes de la comida, ya que su café es uno de los mejores de la ciudad, es tan rico y sabroso. Lovely food, portions on the smaller side but the flavours made up for it. Definitely would go again. Loved the Bombay bowl, although the naan was quite stiff. The service was very slow, it took us a while to get our food. But portions and slow service aside, the actual foods were absolutely delicious and a pleasant surprise :)

I’ve dined here a lot since it opened; they’re really good for gluten free options and I’ve never been glutened here. The gluten free pancakes with bacon and maple syrup is amazing! This week I also ordered a custom made cake for my grandmas 90th (unfortunately they can’t do full size cakes gluten free) and I was really impressed. Several hours work must have gone into it and it was much deeper than I expected, so we had loads left to take home, I thought it was very reasonably priced with this in mind (£70 for a large sized cake). Alexa emailed me to advise that she could adapt one of the example cakes from the website to suit the occasion. Everyone said it was delicious. It was also packed really well for transport. I’d definitely buy from here again if I had a similar occasion

Really enjoyed our Monday brunch here . Even though it was busy staff were attentative , coffees were perfect and the food even better . We travelled from Leeds to visit as it had been recommended. Did not disappoint.

I visited Aesthete in Crosspool, Sheffield on Sunday early afternoon with my daughter who has egg allergy. We ordered an egg-free cake (vegan option), checked the ingredients, and also checked 5 times (!) with the staff that the labelling of the ingredients is accurate. They were reassuring. Seconds after eating the cake my daughter started having an allergic reaction and thankfully I had her medicines with me, which I immediately administered. The waiter came shortly afterwards telling us "I apologise, there has been a mistake, we've mixed up the cake labels, and what I served you is not egg-free". This is totally irresponsible and could have been fatal. My daughter is traumatised and I was left very distressed. You should definitely be more careful and attentive to allergies - people's lives are in danger if you're not responsible.

Been here twice now, food has been fantastic both times, the service is really good and the atmosphere is ideal. The only negative is the outside seating isn't super comfortable. Don't forget to check the specials board for some awesome additions to the menu. Great food options (and lots of choice) for meat eaters as well as veggies and vegans!

Really nice place but expensive for the portion sizes. We had the vegan breakfast which was good but only came with a a single, small piece of sourdough and for £11.90 isn't enough. It certainly didn't fill me up. I went to order some toast and was told there was no vegan spread alternative. All Flora options are now vegan and there's an ASDA literally across the street, so I don't see why they didn't have any. Toast was £3.80, which again, is very steep. Food was tasty but I'd not bother going back due to prices, portion size and no Flora for vegan options.

I really like the vibe of this place. I have enjoyed my tea time dates with my lady at this place. Really enjoyable place.

We had a late breakfast here today and it was amazing! I had the mushrooms, spinach & leek toast. My husband (croque monsieur) and daughter (pancakes) also loved their dishes. The food was fresh and beautifully cooked. We’re in from the US visiting family and I wish I could persuade them to open a place in DC. An absolute gem!

One of my absolute favourite cafes in Sheffield! The most delicious food and cake. They made my lemon and elderflower layer cake for my civil partnership and it was superb, can’t recommend enough. Really great service too.

Lovely place in the heart of the area where I was born, Walkley, Sheffield. I enjoyed the Eggs Benny Royale served with smoke salmon and served with a Vanilla Latte, it was delicious! Great ambience and relaxed atmosphere and a nice seating area outside when the weather improves!

Aesthete is a staple for us. My husband and I love to come once a week for a lunch date. And my friends love it, too. The food is always delicious and the staff are really lovely!

Been to this place twice now and can’t recommend enough. Probably one of my favourite places for brunch in the city. The food is not halal but being a brunch place there’s lots of vegetarian options with halloumi or salmon. I’ve had the breakfast stack which was delicious but my favourite that I’ve tried was the poutine with halloumi, honestly so good 😊 Love the atmosphere. Dog friendly cafe so there is always adorable little dogs here… both times I went there were sausage dogs 😭🫶

Great little spot for brunch or coffee. The foods were well presented and tasty. Very friendly customer service. Despite turning up to the place without booking, we were offered a table. Though it was very busy! The tea/matcha were a bit too weak for my liking, but that’s subjective.

I always struggle with writing a bad review and often just stay silent. However this experience felt like it needed telling. I have come here several times on my trips to Sheffield as they do gluten free and it’s a lovely homely place. On this occasion I chose my food and asked if instead of 2 poached eggs I could have one well done fried egg. She said ‘no, I couldn’t swop any foods’! (I hate poached eggs so have done this in hundreds of places and never had an issue, nor should I!). She said she would remove the 2 poached eggs but charge me for the 1 fried egg. I was very shocked, went to my table and thought further about how incredibly unfair this was. When the drinks were brought over I voiced my views and asked how much she had charged me - I was appalled ay being told it was £1.50! I said that was incredible as I was having 1 less egg so they were actually saving money! She wouldn’t do anything about it, saying it was their policy. When another lady delivered my food (who had only been working at the establishment for a short time), she wanted to know why I was unhappy. I told her that part of my food was missing in the first place (onions, spices/seeds etc) and the fact that I had been charged £1.50 for one less egg. She couldn’t believe it, immediately fetched the missing items from my dish and gave me back the £1.50 (I didn’t mention that the egg wasn’t well done or that £3.50 for 3 tiny slices of halloumi seemed a bit excessive - it wouldn’t have bothered me if the whole experience hadn’t been so unpleasant). On leaving I said again that I was unhappy and would be reviewing the place - the lady said that was unfair as my money had been returned and it was the owner who decided their policies and that it was under review. However if the new employee hadn’t taken it upon herself to sort this out it wouldn’t have been done. My thanks to her for sorting out my missing ingredients and money - I only hope she didn’t get into trouble for it. It may seem petty for £1.50 but it just felt unnecessary and over the top. On a positive note the menu is interesting and tasty, they cope well with allergies/vegan etc and the new employee was an asset to that business! It’s beautifully decorated and comfortable inside.

This was my husband's and my first visit after recently moving to the area. The best brunch we've had in Sheffield. Both the coffee and food was delicious. We would highly recommend and will definitely be back. The staff were really smiley and friendly. It was very busy when we arrived but we only waited about 20 minutes or so for our food. Fabulous, thank you guys for a lovely meal 😊

We found this place by accident and will definitely be re visiting, its nice to find a place where dogs are welcomed and loved, there should be more places like this…the food was amazing and the staff were really friendly and made a fuss ober our dog and 10 month old baby. Not my usual place as we were just driving through the area. Visited with friends for a coffee and something to eat around 10.30am on a Sunday Food and coffee OK but nothing spectacular. The Atmosphere was nice clean and fresh. Staff were friendly.

Reviewing before I’ve even left the cafe (in the crosspool branch) food is amazing. Had 2 stacks and 1 full English (fir 3 of us, not just myself) & absolutely top notch. Will definitely eat here again

We’ve been to Aesthete a couple of times for brunch and have always had clean plate as the food is very tasty. However, we wanted to write a review to thank them for the cakes which their baking studio made for our wedding. We were able to sample a range of yummy flavours in the café and then chose from the wide range of flavours they offered. The cakes were delicious and looked amazing, their advice on portion sizing was spot on.

We’ve been many times and both food and staff are very good. On two consecutive weeks though, there was an issue with the service; last week the orange juice we ordered came almost when we finished our food, despite us asking for it twice. This week we waited 75 minutes (with our toddler) for the food without any warning when we ordered. We would have preferred to be informed and chose to wait that long. A little bit more attention to the service is advisable, for such an otherwise good place for brunch.

Ordered the salmon pancakes and hot chocolate. Best ive had. Staff are friendly and the hot drinks are good sizes. Highly recommend.

I’m not a local, but I’ve been here a couple of times for brunch when visiting family and look forward to coming again - the food is great and a really nice place. Excellent vegetarian options also, without over-relying on fake meat/cheese (which can be nice but not all the time!) Not the cheapest place but fairly priced for an upscale-ish brunch place and portions are reasonable. Lovely atmosphere and decor. Not only that, but service went above and beyond- I left my purse there without even realising and staff went to the trouble of tracking me down on Facebook to return it - completely saving my hide.

We live locally and love his cafe. Always fantastic service, food and atmosphere. Also great that they are open everyday from 9-5. Highly recommend!

Coffee and a brownie, very nice

Came to this beautiful cafe with my sister, the service was lovely we was greeted with a smile soon as we walked through the door made to feel welcome and the food was amazing. The changing room for babys was beautiful and so clean. Inside the cafe is beautifully decorated we defo will go again.

We visited the Crosspool branch and they really helpful trying to meet our tricky medical dietary requirements. The meal was also very tasty 🙂 I didnt get chance to say at the time but Thank you very much ❤

Used to be very good, went recently and thought the food had gone downhill. Quite greasy and lacking in flavour, customer service is good and nice decor.

Lovely place right up my wife and son's alley and I enjoyed it too. A lovely artisan breakfast/lunch experience. I'm not an artisan guy but the food was fab. This in combination with great service from really nice people enriched the experience.

Amazing food Would recommend eggs poutine and the breakfast sandwich (and the new ultimate loaded breakfast sandwich) Recently had croque madame eggs Benedict (pictured), this was less good than the other things. A bit on the small side and unfortunately the eggs were not runny (this is very unusual for here as their poached eggs are usually spot on) so this was a little bit of a shame. It was still tasty though.

Everything is expertly made. I’m in love. 🤍 It gets full pretty quick inside. I sat in the outdoor seating. Felt like I went on a staycation even if it was only for 2 hours. What a gorgeous enchanting shed.

Best brunch in Sheff! Cakes are also delicious. Have tried lots of things on the menu and loved them all. Lovely place too. Recommend to anyone.

It's nice food but a tad expensive for a local cafe. I had the artisan toast 2 slices of sour dough bread and was very hard it came with butter and jam. It does have a friendly atmosphere when busy

Absolutely perfect AGAIN!!! I’m vegetarian and love that so many options are available for me. I absolutely love the Turkish eggs ( could do with more toast though) and love ALL the food and AMAZING cakes!!! What is exceptional is the customer service, ALL the staff are lovely and go above and beyond what other cafes/restaurants offer. Really really really recommend the place. Turkish eggs, latte, cake cost around £18 but you won’t be hungry again all day!!!! LOVE the place ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Not obvious you have to find the menus yourself and then order at the counter. Have to pay as you go rather than at the end so we just had food, no drinks. The front of house person didn't really engage at all. The person delivering the food was friendly though. Food was fine, nothing exceptional but ok.

I had one of my favourites, the Italian toasted sandwich with a tasty salad garnish. My husband had a very tasty dish from the specials board, a change to the Mexican bowl, this time with chicken. Both excellent choices.

I think maybe I ordered wrong but the onion short rib soup was the worst thing I’ve ever eaten in a restaurant or cafe. It was just large chunks of fat and crumbly bone in a bowl of watery stock. It was inedible unfortunately. Unseasoned, no onion whatsoever and there was no meat, just mouthfuls of fat and bone. Like I said maybe I ordered the wrong thing and was unlucky with the bowl I was given. Coffee was good, pancakes were average. Wouldn’t revisit.
