Absolutely brilliant! Will never be able to eat Indian food in the USA again. Each item had its own special flavor, spices artistically layered without heavy sauces. The service and presentation were phenomenal. One of the most enjoyable meals I’ve had in many years of traveling!

The BEST Indian cuisine we have ever had - anywhere .. and we have been and eaten at many Indian restaurants in UK,US, etc. Our friends visiting from Korea agreed. Thank you to the concierge at Stafford for recommendation. Absolutely delicious. Lovely staff who moved us to a perfect table (trouble hearing next to a large group who were understandably enjoying themselves). Fabulous wine and food - would go back here in a heartbeat. Thank YOU!

Went for a birthday dinner with a friend. We had the set menu as recommended by the waiter. Disappointingly the main was too spicy to eat and when pointed out to the waiter - he suggested yoghurt, rather than replacing the dish. So we left it uneaten. This meant that we spent £300 for two people to have starters and dessert - most definitely not worth the money. I emailed the store manager the next day to allow them to put things right but my email was completely ignored. Another sign of how bad this place is. I would steer clear

It was a wonderful memory of the wonderful space and delicious food. I don't think there are many restaurants that I sometimes think about that I want to go back to or eat at again, but for me, this is one of those restaurants.

Horrible to run away from! The setting is pretty, beautiful decoration but much too noisy I couldn't hear my friend and I couldn't even enjoy my dish. The dishes were good but very spicy even though this was not specified on the menu. The service was terrible. First of all, we were given the drinks menu without the menu card to encourage us to drink something. Throughout the dinner the waiters kept asking us if we wanted to recommend drinks or add dishes when our choice was made. No need to insist and sigh when you decline their request for an additional order. In short, the place is overrated because of social networks. It's way too expensive for a restaurant which is of low standard for my taste. To flee!

Reservations are required. The menu is a bit restrictive, as the entire table must order the gourmet options without customization. The taste is excellent, and the service is top-notch. The chairs could be more comfortable. The food is good overall, with great presentation, although the meat sambosa wasn’t to my liking. However, the lollipop chicken is a must-try I didn’t notice an elevator.

If I could give zero stars for the service at this unimportant little restaurant I would. The service is an embarrassment to the food and if I were the chef I would fire the lot. We went here for an anniversary dinner and had the gourmet tasting menu. Pretty easy to locate on Queen street. Pros: Some of the dishes were outright amazing -Coconut Sea Bass with salmon roe and the chaat. Some dishes were okay (not too bad, but not great either) - Malai Chicken and the prawn curry. The desserts were really nice as well. The ambiance of the place was very elegant and the staff were very warm and welcoming. The staff even gave us a mango sorbet additionally in view of the anniversary. Cons : The lamb chops were a big let down - improperly cooked meat and the spice mix was completely out of balance ; even slathering that many pistachios couldn’t really save the dish. I really looked forward to the chilli lobster - but the lobster was rubbery and the seasoning tasted of ketchup. I really think they could do better with these ingredients. The food was expensive for what was given. They can definitely work on the quantities. Overall a 3.5-4/5.

Food was great and service was good. However, this is not a child friendly restaurant at all! No high-chairs for our toddler with staff saying this would be a health and safety issue? They also have no changing facilities for babies in their bathrooms. Very poor considering the price you're paying when even basic restaurants and chains have this. Due to this we unfortunately wouldn't come back

I booked this restaurant weeks in advance and was so excited to go with my family (two children aged 6 and 9, both of whom are very well behaved, quiet and have been to many fine dining establishments) only to be called 2 hours before our booking and told that children under 10 are not allowed. We cancelled our reservation for our party of 6 on the spot and are bitterly disappointed that we were treated with such prejudice because of children. I have never come up against such awful attitude, the lady on the phone stated that this policy was on the website - which I clearly missed and haven’t been able to find before writing this review. Wouldn’t got back even without children. There are plenty of excellent Indian restaurants around who appreciate their diners no matter their family circumstances.

We'd been to this restaurant a couple of years ago and were impressed with the food. So we decided to go again to celebrate a significant birthday in our family. What a let down! First the food. The appetizers we ordered, the Curly Kale Salad and Churi Chaat were fine. Quite tasty. For the mains, the lamb chops were delicious, nicely cooked and meaty with the pistachio crust, though the spice level surprising could be upped a bit when compared to the other dishes. The saag paneer was so very spicy it was a challenge to eat and enjoy it even diluted with the paneer, rice or the naan (and we are used to spicy and even quite spicy food). It was mostly left uneaten. The Lamb Nihari was nicely spicy, the meat tender and a nice marrow bone thrown in and worked well with the naan. The Goan Green Chicken Curry was just standard fare. What really put a huge damper on the experience was the ambience and the seating. On our previous visit, the table assigned to us was near the cash register and the coffee machine so it was noisy and busy with a lot of coming and going and discussions between the staff. We should have remembered to ask for a table away from the hustle and bustle but forgot. This time was even worse and together with the "just okay or barely edible food" it totally spoiled our experience of an expensive meal. The table was directly in front of some back room where the dumb waiter brought the food up and where the used dishes and bottles were discarded. There was a constant stream of loud talking from the staff and the dishes and bottles were thrown into perhaps some kind of bin as if to make the maximum noise possible. It was non-stop and extremely distracting and intrusive. Really there should be some kind of door to that room to mute this noise, even if the restaurant is unable to ask its staff to be sensitive to people coming in to celebrate and enjoy a very expensive meal. We also could not help wondering how twice in a row we were assigned possibly one of the worst seating in the restaurant. A reason or two come to mind which we will refrain from speculating here. This restaurant touts itself as the first Indian restaurant to achieve a Michelin star, which it lost a few years ago. Let's hope the reviewers are discerning and attentive to the ambience. We will not return. We ate at other fine dining and mid-range places in London this visit and had vastly more enjoyable experiences in both food and ambience.

We ordered lemonade for our son and he was given lemon flavored soda. The coconut and chilli seabass was not cooked well and the lamb chops we ordered had strong vinegar taste. They did not change plates after we had the fish and it was not a fine dining experience overall. The Kerala fish curry tasted like Thai Penang curry and the masala tea was just milk with a tea bag. Our bill came to 200+ GBP and I was constantly comparing the taste/ service between tamarind and The Quilon restaurant, at Taj Buckingham. Taj was above and beyond with exceptional service and the quality of food. No wonder they are Michelin and tamarind is not !!! Overall it is quite a waste of your money and customer service is pathetic!

Tamarind's dishes are so exquisite that I considered moving to London to eat there more frequently. I have returned to this haunt for lunch and dinner, each culinary experience luscious and pleasurable for the senses. Their lassi is fragrant and laced with delicate spices; all their dishes are divine. Do try their vegetables! The artichoke is over-the-moon good. I love all their vegetarian dishes; however, if you enjoy lamb, chicken, and other meats, they are also cooked to perfection. The service is impeccable. The staff wants you to linger, which I dearly love. Food is only nourishing when you eat slowly and use all your senses. Tamarind sets the mood for nourishment. This really should be a Very Good classification. But for two reasons I have downgraded. Firstly as a solo visitor, they automatically added a service charge, why? It's a personal gripe. Secondly I thought it was a bit pricey (although it is London). The place itself is nice inside. The main course I had (Gosht A La Nilgiri), was very tasty. Not too hot ( as described) but nicely spiced with tender chunks of lamb. The Keema Nan was also fine.

The idea is interesting, small plates but interesting and very well cooked. Staff are helpful and knowledgeable which is a very big plus. We've been a couple of times and will go again.

Rajasthan 2 is a must visit for Indian food. The food is incredible – I ordered the slow cooked lamb shank and it was brilliant. Service is top notch, friendly and attentive. Highly recommended for an authentic and delicious Indian meal.

Its closed. Thank heavens. Dirty place. Oily food. Hideous. Had a photo of Princess Diana in the window so as to lure in punters. In the photo Diana is running away from this place.
