An absolutely outstanding restaurant, the food not only tastes great but looks visually amazing. Seeing the tandoor ovens is a great touch as well. Highly recommend.

A wonderful though expensive experience.Really fine food. Superbly cooked and spiced food. The prawns were among the best I have tasted in many years of Indian dining in many countries. Samosa, crispy broccoli and Goan chicken curry were spectacular. Unreservedly recommend Tamarind

My husband took me here for my birthday and it was great experience. The food was phenomenal. We tried the a la carte and choose several things. My favorite hands down was the seabass and the chicken lollipop. The lamb Chops, crab cakes and the chat was also stunning. The daal was a bit too soupy and lacked something specially after having such flavors in the other items. Naan was okay as well. Overall we would return to try the other things. Also chicken and lamb are halal. The ambiance was great. Perfect place to actually have a conversation. I have to highlight the service. Each staff were attentive, friendly and nice. They even brought a birthday cake and did a little song so it was a nice touch. I recommend.

Very nice food. Starters were excellent and, while quite spicy, main courses were very good as well. Desserts were not quite on the same level as the rest, but they were still very nice. We opted out of getting drinks as they were extraordinarily expensive (first time in my life I go to an Indian restaurant and don't order a lassi but... £11 for a glass is ridiculous). The lady at the entrance was lovely. We were not as impressed by the waiters who were hard to get a hold of even though there were only 5 tables total (it took quite a few tries to get the bill...). Worth a try if you can handle relatively spicy food.

5 Stars Absolutely loved this restaurant! The service was outstanding: friendly, attentive, and truly made us feel welcome. Every dish was bursting with flavor and clearly made with care and high-quality ingredients. The food was extremely tasty and beautifully presented. We ordered a Gourmet menu and unfortunately, it was a bit too spicy for my palate, but I could still truly appreciate the richness and depth of the flavors, the portions were generous too. Definitely a place I’d return to! Highly recommend

Went for a birthday dinner with a friend. We had the set menu as recommended by the waiter. Disappointingly the main was too spicy to eat and when pointed out to the waiter - he suggested yoghurt, rather than replacing the dish. So we left it uneaten. This meant that we spent £300 for two people to have starters and dessert - most definitely not worth the money. I emailed the store manager the next day to allow them to put things right but my email was completely ignored. Another sign of how bad this place is. I would steer clear

Horrible to run away from! The setting is pretty, beautiful decoration but much too noisy I couldn't hear my friend and I couldn't even enjoy my dish. The dishes were good but very spicy even though this was not specified on the menu. The service was terrible. First of all, we were given the drinks menu without the menu card to encourage us to drink something. Throughout the dinner the waiters kept asking us if we wanted to recommend drinks or add dishes when our choice was made. No need to insist and sigh when you decline their request for an additional order. In short, the place is overrated because of social networks. It's way too expensive for a restaurant which is of low standard for my taste. To flee!

Reservations are required. The menu is a bit restrictive, as the entire table must order the gourmet options without customization. The taste is excellent, and the service is top-notch. The chairs could be more comfortable. The food is good overall, with great presentation, although the meat sambosa wasn’t to my liking. However, the lollipop chicken is a must-try I didn’t notice an elevator.

We went here for an anniversary dinner and had the gourmet tasting menu. Pretty easy to locate on Queen street. Pros: Some of the dishes were outright amazing -Coconut Sea Bass with salmon roe and the chaat. Some dishes were okay (not too bad, but not great either) - Malai Chicken and the prawn curry. The desserts were really nice as well. The ambiance of the place was very elegant and the staff were very warm and welcoming. The staff even gave us a mango sorbet additionally in view of the anniversary. Cons : The lamb chops were a big let down - improperly cooked meat and the spice mix was completely out of balance ; even slathering that many pistachios couldn’t really save the dish. I really looked forward to the chilli lobster - but the lobster was rubbery and the seasoning tasted of ketchup. I really think they could do better with these ingredients. The food was expensive for what was given. They can definitely work on the quantities. Overall a 3.5-4/5.

I booked this restaurant weeks in advance and was so excited to go with my family (two children aged 6 and 9, both of whom are very well behaved, quiet and have been to many fine dining establishments) only to be called 2 hours before our booking and told that children under 10 are not allowed. We cancelled our reservation for our party of 6 on the spot and are bitterly disappointed that we were treated with such prejudice because of children. I have never come up against such awful attitude, the lady on the phone stated that this policy was on the website - which I clearly missed and haven’t been able to find before writing this review. Wouldn’t got back even without children. There are plenty of excellent Indian restaurants around who appreciate their diners no matter their family circumstances.

No regresaremos.

We ordered lemonade for our son and he was given lemon flavored soda. The coconut and chilli seabass was not cooked well and the lamb chops we ordered had strong vinegar taste. They did not change plates after we had the fish and it was not a fine dining experience overall. The Kerala fish curry tasted like Thai Penang curry and the masala tea was just milk with a tea bag. Our bill came to 200+ GBP and I was constantly comparing the taste/ service between tamarind and The Quilon restaurant, at Taj Buckingham. Taj was above and beyond with exceptional service and the quality of food. No wonder they are Michelin and tamarind is not !!! Tamarind's dishes are so exquisite that I considered moving to London to eat there more frequently. I have returned to this haunt for lunch and dinner, each culinary experience luscious and pleasurable for the senses. Their lassi is fragrant and laced with delicate spices; all their dishes are divine. Do try their vegetables! The artichoke is over-the-moon good. I love all their vegetarian dishes; however, if you enjoy lamb, chicken, and other meats, they are also cooked to perfection. The service is impeccable. The staff wants you to linger, which I dearly love. Food is only nourishing when you eat slowly and use all your senses. Tamarind sets the mood for nourishment. My only note is that, unfortunately, as we wanted the Gourmet Tasting Menu and I am gluten free and my partner isn’t, I couldn’t have a few items that were available on the menu, so I missed out on these; as he wouldn’t have enjoyed the alternative choice gluten free substitutes (which was limited). If you offer a tasting menu at a premium price, that is meant to be shared, I would expect for efforts to be made so the whole party can enjoy all the food available.

We had a truly enjoyable lunch at Tamarind and I do not often rate a restaurant 5 stars. The set lunch is indeed a great value with generous portions. The 2 course is at £29 and we chose Lamb chop with pistachio crust and tandoori prawns (really large prawns) at £9 supplements. The set lunch also came with Dal, beetroot raita, naan and rice. We also ordered Tandoori chicken lollipop with pomegranate reduction n cinnamon at £16. Service was great, ambiance was lovely. Will definitely be back to try more items.

We changed times and the number of guests at very short notice (twice) and they were very accommodating and helpful finding us a table without issue. We ignored the set menus and went a la carte. A "double lamb" evening for me, char grilled lamb chops followed by lamb nihari ... both were absolutely superb. The non dairy veggie options were slightly limited compared to some comparable places but the vegetable moilee met requireme.ts and my wife thoroughly enjoyed.

The food, as always, is wonderful! Don’t miss the lobster starter or the Indian street food starter. Delicious! Everything else is also excellent. We are always happy to dine here. The staff is a delight!

This was a really good Indian restaurant that we had in London. The ambience is very pretty, and the staff is very friendly. We were delighted with the dishes we tried, and the food was not heavy at all so you don't feel bad afterwards. Every bite was delightful.

Beautiful food, great service and even better decor. Very elegant, loved everything at this place, my favourite was Paneer Tikka, not far from the good one in India.

The food was faultless, but the approach to service could be slightly better - we have been to Tamarind before and the service was perfect last time round so was just slightly disappointed that we didn’t have the same experience this time.

Its closed. Thank heavens. Dirty place. Oily food. Hideous. Had a photo of Princess Diana in the window so as to lure in punters. In the photo Diana is running away from this place.

This really should be a Very Good classification. But for two reasons I have downgraded. Firstly as a solo visitor, they automatically added a service charge, why? It's a personal gripe. Secondly I thought it was a bit pricey (although it is London). The place itself is nice inside. The main course I had (Gosht A La Nilgiri), was very tasty. Not too hot ( as described) but nicely spiced with tender chunks of lamb. The Keema Nan was also fine.

The idea is interesting, small plates but interesting and very well cooked. Staff are helpful and knowledgeable which is a very big plus. We've been a couple of times and will go again.

The food was very, very good and authentic. But unfortunately it was a category too expensive for what was offered. Furthermore, we unfortunately had the misfortune of having very loud guests present on site (it seemed to be a company party). The service was also excellent and very attentive.
