Best tasting food i have ever had. Would go again and again.

Food was great and service was good. However, this is not a child friendly restaurant at all! No high-chairs for our toddler with staff saying this would be a health and safety issue? They also have no changing facilities for babies in their bathrooms. Very poor considering the price you're paying when even basic restaurants and chains have this. Due to this we unfortunately wouldn't come back

I booked this restaurant weeks in advance and was so excited to go with my family (two children aged 6 and 9, both of whom are very well behaved, quiet and have been to many fine dining establishments) only to be called 2 hours before our booking and told that children under 10 are not allowed. We cancelled our reservation for our party of 6 on the spot and are bitterly disappointed that we were treated with such prejudice because of children. I have never come up against such awful attitude, the lady on the phone stated that this policy was on the website - which I clearly missed and haven’t been able to find before writing this review. Wouldn’t got back even without children. There are plenty of excellent Indian restaurants around who appreciate their diners no matter their family circumstances.

Came here on New Years day for lunch, food absolutely delicious! Recommend the chaat, samosas, lamb shank and biryani. Lovely atmosphere and great interior. Will definitely come back ☺️

10/10 food was impeccable!! The only thing I didn’t enjoy was the tandoori prawns as I found them a tad too spicy as I usually like spicy food. The yoghurt kebabs were sensational

Came by based on a recommendation from our hotel. Nigel ran a series of courses through our table and picked absolutely amazing dishes. Fantastic dining experience, come hungry.

This is NOT a Mitchelin star restaurant!!! Food was very average, service is appalling. Staff are chatting amongst eachother, kept forgetting our food/drinks. 3 reception girls were very rude upon arrival, speaking in their language!! Not surprised this place was quiet and empty, just awful!!

Excellent food, rare balance of non oily indian food, but still traditional in preparation and flavours and presented as a gourmet indian meal. The menu is vast and covers food from across india, I love the fact they have a big grills menu, so you can keep it light if you want. Some special standout dishes - the grilled chilli and lime seabass, the rajasthani chaat, the lamb biryani, the crispy brocoli and prawn and coconut curry. Also the punjabi paloma was spectacular

Really terrific food, glowing reviews from our table, both vegetarian and meat-eaters alike. There are better dining rooms, in terms of grandeur, in Mayfair but it's still nice (we were upstairs). The food and service was just terrific and our table commented that the lunch set menus offered good value considering the quality and location of the restaurant, with the set price including champagne and a cocktail. We all left full and very satisfied!

We ordered lemonade for our son and he was given lemon flavored soda. The coconut and chilli seabass was not cooked well and the lamb chops we ordered had strong vinegar taste. They did not change plates after we had the fish and it was not a fine dining experience overall. The Kerala fish curry tasted like Thai Penang curry and the masala tea was just milk with a tea bag. Our bill came to 200+ GBP and I was constantly comparing the taste/ service between tamarind and The Quilon restaurant, at Taj Buckingham. Taj was above and beyond with exceptional service and the quality of food. No wonder they are Michelin and tamarind is not !!! Overall it is quite a waste of your money and customer service is pathetic!

If I could give zero stars for the service at this unimportant little restaurant I would. The service is an embarrassment to the food and if I were the chef I would fire the lot. Arrogant, bored and poorly managed waiters ruined what should have been a wonderful experience. Fortunately London is full of better places. You’ve been warned!

The experience we had was outstanding. Beautiful, sophisticated atmosphere in Mayfair. The food was incredible. While the lamb biryani wasn’t quite what we’d hoped for, it was still very good and the other dishes we had more than made up for it. I highly recommend Tamarind.

We dine at Tamarind every trip to London … and it is always amazing. Dinner tonight was exceptional … every dish was delightful.

I was disappointed by the lack of baby-friendly facilities at your restaurant. Despite mentioning during our reservation that we needed a high chair, none was provided. Additionally, we had to ask the manager to confirm if baby food was allowed. This is not what I would expect from a Michelin-star establishment. If babies are not welcome, it should be clearly stated upfront to avoid inconvenience. Please address this for future guests.

They ran out of bowls to serve in at 9 pm! They refused to bring me a bowl! Paying £50+ for a meal you'd think you'd at least get proper dinnerware. The lamb chops were less than mid and I felt robbed. We booked a private dining room but the staff kept leaving the door open. I would not recommend this place, there are much better restaurants in London that you can go to without paying nearly as much. I wouldn't eat here even if it cost me a quarter of the price

Every dish had a distinct flavour and was very specific to this restaurant We had the Vegetarian & non Vegetarian Gourmet Testing Menu. The service was excellent. Well trained staff.

Excellent food as ever, but the service was not it's usual selk. Mains arrived at significantly different times, reminder had to be made for missing coffee, n9t major issues but it was notable given the excellent service we have had on the past. However we will be back, the food is still outstanding, venison samosas are the chili seabass being personal favourites.

Food too good. Service too slow. Staff is not attentive enough. Over billing found at the end, when confronted staff was arguing too much but agreed to remove, not expected from a fine dine.

Can thoroughly recommend the Taster Menu. Great service and fantastic food. An experience not to be forgotten from time we arrived, until we left. Thank you

We opted for the Gourmet menu and everything up until the main event was exceptional! The churi chaat and lobster being a standout for both of us. Sadly the dal and prawn curry were underwhelming and the naan was dry and tasteless. As for ambience…it was marred by people having their phones on loud speaker whilst scrolling instagram and a couple of guys watching football!

Wouldn’t normally eat Indian food, but this was on another scale , absolutely amazing. If your looking for the standard Britishised korma etc don’t go

My favorite Indian restaurant in London. This unique mix of amazing food, very welcoming staff specially Park, the decoration and atmosphere makes you leave the restaurant with good memories and great experience.

This is such a superb restaurant. Once I book my flight to London, I book a reservation at tamarind. The food is beyond delicious. They make it before my eyes. Attentive but unobtrusive wait staff ensure you have everything you need then they step back to allow you to enjoy your meal. Can't wait for my next trip to London and Tamarind!

We had a great experience with food, we ordered Rajasthani churri chaat, Chicken biryani, chocolate fondant. All were exceptionally well curated & presented by Chef & our table were taken care by Parth & Piyali. We would love to recommend this to everyone. A proper Indian restaurant.

My husband and I are visiting from USA and good friend recommended Tamarind for a special dinner. It was truly wonderful experience. The ambiance, service and food were amazing. We did the tasting menu so got to try a variety of different dishes that we wouldn’t normally order. Every course was delicious and the staff were a total delight.

Poorly run restaurant, fixated with getting you in and out quickly. A lot of staff, friendly enough, but not properly trained to justify the price. No knowledge of the food or wine. The food itself is decent quality, and I feel bad for the chef who can clearly cook and has made some decent dishes. But everything around it lets it down and makes it a really poor experience, enjoyable and unrelaxing, that makes you leave feeling ripped off.

Lovely find for dinner in Mayfair’s a warm welcome and attentive staff. They accommodated my gluten free requirements very well and the gluten free roti was the best I’ve ever eaten anywhere Delicious food. We did the gourmet tasting menu with a couple of adjustments. We had a slight issue in that the diners at the next table were on their phones and the volume was loud! I can’t blame the restaurant . They did ask them to pipe down the volume but I guess they must have been deaf. We had a super time and would go back for sure.

Food was way to average, the place did not live to its expectation at all, personally i dont think will suggest or go again, lets say if i keep the price aside and talk just for food , i don't think i will have the motivation to go back. Quality over all was not great, its very average or ok for me. Hence not a great writing great review. Disappointment for the food served.

I enjoy simple Indian curry, and this was the first experience for me with more sophisticated Indian flavors. Most of the course was still too spicy for me, but it had its own textures to enjoy it. Seabass was top notch!

This definitely is one of the better indian restaurants in London. Their grilled food really stands out. The Atmosphere is really relaxing and the food just makes everything even better. We visit it quite often and the quality of the food is always exceptional . Highly recommended.

AMAZING FOOD!! My friends and I came here recently on a Sunday night—we opted for their seating in the outdoor patio, which is enclosed and beautifully decorated! Nice ambiance. Service was great, our server was attentive and very helpful suggesting food dishes to try. Everything was delicious—food is so flavorful. HIGHLY RECOMMEND the Coconut & Chilli Seabass, Crispy Lobster, Goan Green Chicken Curry and Hyderabadi Lamb Biryani. And the Garlic Naan is A MUST!!! Our cocktails were good too. So happy we came here!

We had a truly enjoyable lunch at Tamarind and I do not often rate a restaurant 5 stars. The set lunch is indeed a great value with generous portions. The 2 course is at £29 and we chose Lamb chop with pistachio crust and tandoori prawns (really large prawns) at £9 supplements. The set lunch also came with Dal, beetroot raita, naan and rice. We also ordered Tandoori chicken lollipop with pomegranate reduction n cinnamon at £16. Service was great, ambiance was lovely. Will definitely be back to try more items.

Food was excellent and my boyfriend really loved his birthday meal here. My only note is that, unfortunately, as we wanted the Gourmet Tasting Menu and I am gluten free and my partner isn’t, I couldn’t have a few items that were available on the menu, so I missed out on these; as he wouldn’t have enjoyed the alternative choice gluten free substitutes (which was limited). If you offer a tasting menu at a premium price, that is meant to be shared, I would expect for efforts to be made so the whole party can enjoy all the food available.

Just Great from start to finish food service everything

The food is good, the price is expensive, and the minimum per person is 55 pounds.

We changed times and the number of guests at very short notice (twice) and they were very accommodating and helpful finding us a table without issue. We ignored the set menus and went a la carte. A "double lamb" evening for me, char grilled lamb chops followed by lamb nihari ... both were absolutely superb. The non dairy veggie options were slightly limited compared to some comparable places but the vegetable moilee met requireme.ts and my wife thoroughly enjoyed.

Quality of service and food excellent

This was a really good Indian restaurant that we had in London. The ambience is very pretty, and the staff is very friendly. We were delighted with the dishes we tried, and the food was not heavy at all so you don't feel bad afterwards. Every bite was delightful.

Beautiful food, great service and even better decor. Very elegant, loved everything at this place, my favourite was Paneer Tikka, not far from the good one in India.

The food was faultless, but the approach to service could be slightly better - we have been to Tamarind before and the service was perfect last time round so was just slightly disappointed that we didn’t have the same experience this time.

Teníamos las Samosas, y varios entrantes, el pollo tikka y cordero tandoori. Desierto, pudín de jengibre. Buen vino de Burdeos (muy caro. . ).

We had lunch at Tamarind and we were left quite disappointed with our visit. The food was very average with nothing standing out as noteworthy. At these prices we were expecting some truly incredible food. The service was okay which was attentive without being overbearing although it wasn't with a smile. The only reason I didn't give it one star is because of the restaurant decor and ambience which was amazing and certainly had the wow factor.

Divine. Sat in the new terrace section which is stunning. Lovely food, drinks, service. We really had a fabulous evening.

Absolutely brilliant elegant and high style Indian food. Yes the main dining room is down a level but it’s beautiful and cozy. IF you are cold ask to sit at the kitchen window where you will quite literally experience the HEAT of the kitchen. Thus my missing star for atmosphere— I was seated there and I was HOT. I would recommend the prix fixe tasting menu it’s a lot of courses but not too much food. I think the lamb chops were BEYOND delicious. Mmmmmm. Chicken was so tender fish was almost too tender and expertly seasoned in the Indian way.

Its not worth it value-price, they do not serve you naan after 230 pm.

If you’re looking for a place to have a terrible dining experience, Tamarind Restaurant is the spot. The food was absolutely awful—bland, overcooked, and lacking any real flavor. I could barely finish my meal. On top of that, the atmosphere was non-existent. The restaurant felt cold and uninviting. There was no music or ambiance to speak of, just an uncomfortable silence. Service was slow and inattentive, and overall, it felt like no one cared about making the customers happy. Save your money and go elsewhere!

I wanted to express my disappointment with the service during my recent visit. The waiter rushed through taking our order, got it wrong, and responded by raising her voice instead of resolving the issue. The food was delayed, and when we requested a replacement, we were told the kitchen was closed, so the mistake couldn’t be fixed.

Not impressed at all. Ambience was good as expected but the food quality and noise spoiled it all. The starters were burnt (literally burnt) which you would not expect from a restaurant of this stature. The mains were luke warm at best and of ordinary preparation. Hot toddy that I ordered was far too sweet!! I complained and the manager they didn’t charge for drinks but still disappointed overall. It was not the fine dining experience that we were hoping for.

Overall a good spot for a business lunch. Not the cheapest but quality and a civilised atmosphere help the conversation
