Had a cracking works do curry night here. Food excellent , all good.

Have been coming to the Raj for about 15 years. The best curry house around!

Best curry in the city and the staff are very friendly and attentive. I would highly recommend the slow cooked lamb jalfrezi - spicy and delicious.

Listen folks, I had this lamb rezala at an Indian joint, and let me tell you, it was yuge! The flavors, the tenderness, it was like winning the culinary lottery, believe me. People are saying it's the best rezala they've ever tasted, and you know what? They're right! If you want to make your taste buds great again, this is the place to be, folks. Absolutely tremendous!

I have been coming to the Rajasthan for over 15 years and all that time the standard of the food and the service have been exemplary. The staff have always taken care of us. When it comes to the food I would recommend the slow cooked lamb dishes from the Lamb Rezala through to hottest Lamb Vindaloo. The other dish I would recommend would be the Jhinga Achari (prawn dish). The curry that comes with this dish is simply delicious. It's not a hot dish but very tasty!!!!! The biriyani is pretty good too. When it comes to beers they stock both Cobra and Kingfisher. My personal choice would be Kingfisher as it just has a crisp clean taste to it. If you're a good boy then you will be offered a post meal drink. What's not to like. Get down there and experience it.

I am a regular at this restaurant, as it is close to office and a good place to catch up with friends and colleagues over some very nice indian food. The staff goes above and beyond to cater for a friend of mine with special dietary requirements. They are always very polite, service is fast even when the restaurant is full, and the limoncello on the house at the end of the meal a nice option.

I’ve been dining here for maybe 10 years and have must have visited on at least 50 occasions. There’s a reason for that. The food’s delicious. A friend of mine and discerning gourmand if ever there was one has been known on occasion to indulge in a solo lunchtime meal he enjoys it so much. I normally opt for the slow cooked Lamb Jalfrezi or slow cooked lamb Rezalla and definitely recommend both. If you’re looking for a proper fill-up I’d also recommend the Onion Bhajis. These have a subtle aniseed flavour which I’m guessing is fennel. Finally, my go-to beverage of choice at the Raj is lager. There are two options – Kingfisher and Cobra. What’s not to like about that? Tasty!

Best Indian restaurant in London!

Genuinely the worst Indian restaurant I have ever been to. Food was terrible, we barely ate any of it. The butter chicken is a god awful creamy mess - disgusting. The waiting staff cannot stand still and are constantly walking around the restaurant trying to act busy, and end up interrupting you every couple of minutes. They moved plates around on our table for no reason a few minutes after putting the food down. Every time I had a sip of beer they topped my glass up. Felt like they were just trying to get the food and drink in you as quickly as possible so you would buy more or leave the restaurant. Due to the layout of the tables, it is cramped inside and the staff knock your chair each time they walk past you, which is every 30 seconds because of this weird non-stop overbearing 'service'. Cannot understand the positive reviews - truly atrocious food & experience.

Every time we come to Rajasthan we are treated so well and it’s such a pleasurable experience. The food is always good, and the staff is very accommodating.

This was so great. The food was tasty, very friendly staff. The most amazing thing was, that the boss remembered my colleague, who was visiting the restaurant 15 years ago frequently, by name. Will be my favorite when visiting London more often!

We arrived quite late but they seated us and we proceeded to order. The food was actually quite good and, whilst not cheap, fair enough given the location. The problem was that as the clock got close to eleven, one of the waiting staff turned into an arse - telling us the they shut at eleven and we should hurry up and go home. I stress this was one guy and the other staff were smiley enough (but did nothing about their rude colleague). I checked my Apple wallet this morning and I paid at 10:55, so it’s not like we were burning the midnight oil. Shame really because, as I said, the food was pretty good. But I won’t tolerate being treated like an inconvenience instead of a customer, so I won’t be back.

I’ve been coming here since 2006. I know the staff very well the food and service is always good. I’m surprised there are reviews mentioning the price. It’s the city of london and I still feel it is well priced for the city too. No complaints from me. Taken so many friends here and never had any issues. Great restaurant. I love the mango chutney and the Keema naan

Regular as this place. Friendly and hospitable staff. The slow cooked lamb biriyani was exemplary and is a must try. The chicken chaat was also very good. Loved the complementary drinks as well.

Tasty indian food, lovely and friendly service and good ambience.

I went to the Rajasthan in Monument for an evening meal, the atmosphere was very pleasant and relaxed, the staff were very attentive, I had chicken bhuna with pillau rice and thoroughly enjoyed it, I'm sure I'll go there again.

Been going there for nearly 10 years, always a great meal and helpful service. They aren’t the friendliest - but they do the job! Lovely food.

Great lunch, always have a brilliant food experience here. Even got a celebratory ice cream for my 40th Birthday. Would recommend staff are friendly and food is delicious.

Had the Lamb Jalfrezi, the meat melted in the mouth and the sauce was the richest I have ever tasted. Brilliant service with a smile and amazing presentation of the restaurant.

Good food. The garlic naan bread was fresh and superb. An excellent chicken dhansak with a good sauce. Could have been just a little spicier to balance the sweetness. Service was good. This place gets busy so go early if you can.

Rajasthan is an institution! We have been coming here for many years - the food is excellent and the staff are friendly and attentive. Nothing is too much trouble and the Garlic Chilli Chicken is the best I have ever had. I would wholeheartedly recommend this place to everyone - you will not be disappointed!

Decent ..hard to find a good indian in town but this ticks the boxes

Went with a group of around 10. We had pre-booked so they were aware of the size. Found a hair in the food but they didn’t bother to take it seriously. The waiter covered the hair with a naan! A naan….The plate was stained too. Food average. No salt or seasoning. Atmosphere average. The waiters were quite abrupt and rude. They didn’t listen to anything. I tried to tell them about the hair but was ignored. I asked for extra pilau and the waiter said, “he ordered for you” but everyone was ordering their own dishes. They were taking food items away that weren’t finished. When asking about allergies, they just pointed to the menu and said, “that”. Avoid.

Went for a work Christmas lunch, 22 of us and it was chaos. We didn't get served for an hour (we had pre-booked). During that time they just kept giving out beers when people didn't even want them so guess want the alcohol bill was HUGE. We specified £25 per head and asked for a range of dishes with vegetarian and non-dairy included. We got ONE vegan dish and several spinach dishes that was it for that and then lots of only 2 variations on tomato based meat dishes. Plain naan and rice and guess what it was over £25 per head.

Night out with 8 friends finishing off with a curry. Excellent service, and my Lamb Naga, vindaloo hot was possibly the tastiest curry ever eaten. Impossible to fault

We started the traditional way, Indian Larger Poppadom and Chutney awakened my tastebuds, tried Spicy Poppadoms whilst waiting for our starters nice, and unique full of flavour, recommended the King Prawn Puri was so delicious, amazingly succulent tender very tasty, was very impressed with the signature Mix starter full of flavour medium based enjoyed spices delightfuly ingredients infused put together pure heaven, then with the main course, enjoying my favourite, chicken Tikka Masala , we shared variety of Cheese Cakes, staff was so attentive and friendly my colleagues, loved the Fresh leaf Mint Tea, Royal Coffee, port, and a wonderful after complementary Drink. With highly Recommended

Still amazing after three years away Had my first Rajasthan curry since lockdown and the quality was as best. The obvious choice of Cobra complimented the popadums and excellent pickles entirely. A mixed starter of Vegetarian and Tandoori platters showcased the lovely Sheek kebab, Tandoori Lamb and the extraordinary house Onion Bhaji. Main courses in our group included the special Lamb and Chicken complete with Chapati-style pastry cases and spicy interior but the winner for me was the Special lamb rogan , which is seriously one of the best curries I’ve ever eaten. Service was excellent as ever. Will definitely not be waiting long to return.

Excellent restaurant near the Tower of London. A lunchtime restaurant for business. Great service and food. The Madras was spicy but tasty and the Korma mild and tasty. Cost was in line with restaurants in London.

I been with my family for dinner and it was fantastic food. The price was very affordable.Alam was delivering fantastic customer service always make sure tables were clean and plates removed ask if would like anything else like drinks desserts 💯.

Walked in with my family hoping to have a great meal. Walker in and ordered our drinks and as soon as we went to order our appetizers we asked “Is there an vegetarian option for appetizers?” The waiter responded disrespectfully and said “Just because this restaurant is called Rajasthan we don’t serve that many vegetarian options only main courses”. As soon as he said that he walked to his other workers and started talking to them about us. I don’t recommend this restaurant to others and the workers are disrespectful .

This is a hidden gem, right at the Monument with good food and reasonable prices.

Been here many times in the past, but on this recent visit was appalled at the decline and arrogance of the staff. Not one ever smiled and were extremely curt indeed. The food too, was just about ok but the price at the end of over £80 for two curries and three bottles of beer is outrageous. There are many Indian restaurants in the city better than this one! Watch Out though as they now charge a very large service charge on your bill making it a place I and other clients will not be returning to again.

Extremely disappointing service, I got shouted at by the staff mid conversation and was made to feel very unwelcome. The food arrived very late. The staff were very poor. It’s a shame as the quality of the food was ok, even if overpriced. Won’t be coming back.

A very nice Indian restaurant and not in the middle of bustling crowds. They can't get much passing trade so they must be known for their quality. The normal Indian dishes are served and the quality of the food is very good indeed. It is a snug restaurant but is was fine for our party of four. The Cobra beer was delicious and the papadoms were light and crisp. I will be visiting again.

Lovely food, came with my associates and never regretted it

We was on Friday around 9pm food was OK we ordered1. prawn zalfreji, Matter paneer, Lamb Tikka, chicken Palak The prawn jalfrezi onion & capsicum was raw and the garlic flavour on them was raw, my suggestion first fry garlic then mix with onion and capsicum so it coming nice aroma and flavour, Prawn zalfreji was not perfect taste, 2. on Matter paneer peas on taste was hard like just taking out from Deep freeze , pls put them some Butter & cream for creamy sauce to come a nice flavour, staff was OK but not friendly, Good service ,I am not satisfied the food taste and quality and the environment, we are visiting their with family, so we are not 100% satisfied. if ur hungry just looking for Indian food so their OK but if u looking for fine Indian Dine better I recommend The Lalit. I hope on our Next visit we are not disappointed.

Absolute worst experience ever. The owner literally insulted me when i asked about the nan bread that i order which didn’t arrive for a while. Very racist. They are not indian at all they are iranian and bengali imposters

The restaurant is not Indian, it could be Pakistani or Bangladeshi but not Indian. The stuff is rude and the service is awfull. We went there for Xmas lunch, it was packed, they gave us a very small table for the number of people we were and they rushed us throughout. Food was not good either. Avoid.

The food is fine. Nothing to write home about but also not bad. Had it just been the food I would have been happy. The service on the other hand is another matter entirely. The service was like jekyll and Hyde. The manager was very friendly, everyone else on the otherhand treated me like an annoyance straight from walking through the door. I sat down and the server threw the napkin at me. It should have been a red flag. I quickly received both the drinks and food menu. Before I even had a chance to read the drinks menu the server said "what drink do you want, kobra?" Fair enough I thought I thought, it's likely the most requested drink. Less than 1 min later the manager came over and asked what my food order was. I knew what I wanted so no big deal. He also suggested an additional side dish of sag bahji which was a great idea. About 5 mins later the food arrived. 15 mins after that, staff started asking if I was done. When I had finally finished, the plates were taken away, and the servers literally started stripping the table cloth while I was waiting for the bill and finishing my drink. The bill arrived quickly, but before I even had a chance to read it or unwrap one of the completely chocolates, they started typing in amount on the card machine and requested payment. Given the speed at which they took the payment, I didn't have a chance to leave a tip even if I'd wanted to. In between me finishing my meal and taking payment, the manager offered an unprompted complimentary lemonchello, which was greatly received. All in all i was in and out jn 30 mins and the restaurant wasn't at all busy. I know this is London but I've never been to an Indian like it. Everything was so fast. I could have forgiven it if the place was packed and they needed the table, but the place was nearly empty. This contrasts greatly with another jndain restaurant I went to just down the road a few months ago.

The food is nice and fresh but the atmosphere is a bit crazy and wild, I could barely hear the person next to me in. Tuesday night! Other people might love that, but I wanted a chilled evening. Finally don't order the prawns for a starter , they are ok but they charge you £25 for the privilege!

First of all its not an Indian restaurant (its Bangladeshi) and no way related to Rajasthan as the name of the restaurant suggests since I couldn’t find any Rajasthani dishes ( like Daal Baati) on the menu. Coming to items in the menu, we ordered Sikanderi lamb and butter chicken. the lamb came with chickpeas curry as gravy which was just disgusting with abnormal amount of red chilli powder in it as I requested it to be spicy ( which is not at all what I wanted). Butter chicken was a joke, cook forgot to add salt and add tomatoes which gives butter chicken its trademark colour. Overall, please avoid this restaurant if you’re looking for genuine Indian food.

Absolute 5 stars. Friendly staff, super focused on the job, and they helped our big group without reservation to be in the table starting to enjoy the dinner in no time. Incredible fast and efficient. How about the food? To me it was among the best Indian restaurants I've been, really delicious.

We had saag paneer, chicken tikka masala, and naan. Everything was delicious without being too spicy. Service was attentive. Prices were reasonable. (I'm from the states, FWIW).

Not worth against the price you pay

Good food but the next day will not be good. All of my colleagues had stomach problems the next day which means we will not return.

I've eaten there a few times over the years and never been disappointed. It's nice to see the same faces with the staff and they go out of their way to accommodate requests. If you've got a dish in mind they'll even suggest variations. I ordered the prawn bhuna and asked if I could make it king prawn, the person serving us said no problem and suggested I made have the king prawns Tandoori style with the bhuna sauce. It was SO good! Slow cooked lamb dish which was also recommended to my partner and he said it was great. The meat was tender and tasty. Although I only go on the odd occasion when I'm in town I will definitely be back.

Awesome! One of my absolute favourite Indian restaurants in the City. Food is incredible and service is very nice too! Their chicken rezalla is just next level.

We were passing by this restaurant and my kid was thirsty for water and then I requested the restaurant to service a glass of water. The people out there were so generous the service with us of water and also handed us a bottle of water for us to carry. I really love this gesture thank you guys

The meal today was completely over shadowed by the staffs disrespectful and rude attitude. Throughout the meal they constantly badgered us to keep buying paying no regard to what we were actually asking for. Then at the end of the night one of the staff slapped my female friend's behind, out of nowhere and with no warning. We had to force him to go and apologise, even then the rest of the staff did nothing to admonish him and attempted to pass it off as playful. We spent well over £500 there and to be treated like that ..I would never recommend this establishment to anyone!

Visited London for a short stay. Great tasting food and brilliant customer service

Lunch with friends. A pint in the pub next door. Fantastic location near the Monument (to the fire of London). Lunch was sizzling prawns and papadoms to start with all the relishes. Recommended. Friendly (albeit efficient) service. Wonderfully spiced curries and a fantastic lunch.

No frills Indian restaurant in the city. Only been on a Friday lunch and booking definitely required. Decent portions of good food that's reasonably priced. Update post-covid (May 22). Back for the first time in what seems like forever. Greeted with a smile and handshake and a "welcome back". Initially we were the only diners but thay soon changed. Same great food same great service. Will be back for more.

A great tradition of the Monument area, I last regularly dined here 20 years ago when working nearby, and it has lost none of its quality and charm on a visit today, May 22. Superb Indian staples and specialties. Excellent value too for the City.

Delicious food and very friendly staff made for a great lunchtime dining experience! We all had a mixture of staters to begin with, and the lamb chop that came with it was fantastic! I opted for the Manchurian Chicken for my main course, which again was delicious! The Rajasthan is just around the corner from the monument, so if you are in the area and fancy some delicious food, then give the Rajasthan a try....you won't regret it!

I have been going to the Rajasthan for many years now and I am never disappointed. Essential to book - and be mindful that you can overstay your welcome if you stay on too long on a busy evening. But service is always friendly and...

The mandatory (we weren’t asked if we wanted them) poppadoms were burnt (how?).. chutneys awful, lime pickle that just tasted odd. Top the whole thing off with a table of city bankers acting like they’re on a club 18-30s holiday, getting aggressive with other tables. How did the management handle this? Gave them all a round of free shots. Unbelievable! Then they bring the bill with a service charge on it. Laughable.
