Always excellent service great atmosphere coffee & cakes are yummy we had 24 Christmas Eve for lunch there everyone loved it it wasn’t expensive we will do it again ! They never rushed us service was great thank you So much you made our Christmas as family all together 😊😊

Paid £5.50 for a gluten free sandwich and got an extremely small roll. The waitress was extremely embarrassed about serving it. Total rip off won’t be back.

When we visited in June 2022 we found the restaurant to be well worth the visit excellent food and friendly staff let’s hope it’s not as other comments when we visit later this year

Quite expensive for a garden centre and not much atmosphere.

I asked for a vegetarian roast, it was just a plate of veg, no meat substitute and no vegetarian gravy. I was charged the same amount as a normal roast. Not impressed at all

Well I am really disappointed with this place, the food has gradually gone downhill, and today was the final straw. We ordered an English breakfast (which we have ordered before in the past, and it has been ok). Today the food came out and it looked great until we tried to eat it. The sausage was so dark and had probably been deep fried far to many times, the baked beans were barely warm, the mushroom - slightly wrinkled (in other words old) and stone cold. The bacon looked fine but again was stone cold , totally not acceptable. My partner took all the food back and managed to get a full refund (kudos to the waitress who was not to blame and was very apologetic ) I did question if the food was freshly cooked? and was informed it is not cooked to order but is freshly cooked (which I very much doubt!!!) It was 9.15am (they open at 9am) and there was only one other couple in the restaurant) Overall the kitchen staff should be ashamed. I have eaten here for many years, but this will definitely be the last time.

Hi my wife and I had a lovely Roast Turkey Sunday Lunch which was served piping hot and in double quick time staff work hard there and keep everyone happy.

Very busy as half term, out of some dishes but helpful staff nice salads for the price.

Wide selection of food at a low price

The garden centre is super.... Cafe was far from busy, wait 10 minutes to be seated whilst several staff members wander around ignoring you. Get seated, then wait another ten minutes with no staff contact, no-one taking your order. People on next table had ordered, but their order just left on the side until they asked where their order was. Walked out...

Able to take your dog in the resteraunt food is good and plenty of parking.It is now table service. You queue to be shown to a table.

The cakes will not disappointed!

The restaurant was fantastic, we had my 70th birthday meal there,will definitely return when we holiday in Cornwall next year. Food was exceptional so were the staff. Well done guys a very memorable meal.

What a very disappointing visit to the Tamar View nursery restaurant yesterday (18 May 2022). It was our 1st visit since the pandemic but why this has caused such a change we can’t understand. OK distancing, self service, etc we understand. Before covid we could sit with our dog in the main area but not the lounge fair enough but this time we were directed to a back corner, almost outside in the garden centre. It was not very welcoming, comfortable or warm. Very draughty and cold. When questioned the waitress said ‘it’s where we put the dogs’! On top of this they had sold out of pasties and sausage rolls it was only 2pm! 3rd choice meal which was OK, in fact the chips were really good. It was so cold my wife kept her coat on and another family, with an elderly relative, also commented on the room and temperature also keeping outdoor coats on. On the whole not an experience we would like again. Needless to say, although I’m not sure it would matter as the restaurant is very popular, we will not be visiting again. It may be dog friendly but it is far from dog owner friendly.

Been here several times and food was ok but today found fried ladybirds in my meal I wasn’t going to say anything but waitress wondered why I hadn’t eaten my meal , so I showed her to which she told me it was off my eggs , they where red with black spots and had legs , no offer of replacement or refund just took the plate away

Very nice, freshly cooked lunch at a competitive price. The staff are all very polite and friendly and are happy to share a joke.

I go there often seen it grow over the years ,it's a great place to eat all the year round great food great staff and great owners family run every item that can be bought in the farm shop is used in the restaurant .well with a visit .

Had a scone which was 1.75. Extra pound for cream and jam so £2.85. Came with no butter, and one tiny pot of jam which can be bought at local B and M. This didn't cover both halves of the scone. When asked for another told that tamar restaurant cant afford to give another plastic pot of jam. Really? Very very poor.

A very poor atmosphere with the staff appearing to be aggressive to me and other users which was not short of being afraid to move or ask a question regarding the menu. Please ask the staff to welcome customers and not make them feel it is an honour to visit them.

The food is good value for money

Went with a group of friends. Hadn't booked but they quickly prepared a table to fit us in. Waitress and food were very good.

Normally I enjoy the food here but this weekend the main course I had was cooked badly and tasteless and the bit of cake was so stale and dry I couldn't eat it. It's put me off

Always had really good service here, the food is also very good and reasonably priced. The specials menu changes regularly and is well varied. Been here a few times and will definitely visit again.

Love this place girls work really hard. Always polite and friendly. It was very busy but service was excellent. Would definitely recommend.

Went here with my family as my dad used to take us here for cake. For the price you get a large slice of cake, only issue is that the labels don't state if they are vegetarian or vegan and they are a bit dry. My sister wanted the chicken sandwich, as you can see it's not much to look at. Not even a full pack of crisps, no salad and bearly any chicken. For the price of £4.50 you'd expect more than what we got. My mum said that the coffee wasn't very nice either. If we go back again we're sticking to just the cake and soft drink. The staff were busy and sat us down and forgot to come back to get are order. So we had to send my sister to find one. They have a one way system, but as I'm in a wheelchair and we had a pram to, having a bit of machinery blocking most of the exit doors was a nightmare and no one offered to help us out.

Great place for breakfast. There are toilets! so difficult to find in most places in this area. Lovely staff, nothing is a problem. The food was 10/10. We had vegetarian breakfast.

Terrible customer service, or should I say zero service! The staff were devoid of any basic manners and appreciation for customer satisfaction. Very poor food, tasteless and over priced.

This is a good cafe, huge in size with large capacity seating in a variety of settings. An excellent addition to the Tamar View site and our favourite feature is the impressive cake selection. Prices are low for the average expected to pay at a garden centre, the staff are pleasant and helpful, there is ample car parking, but the full selection of hot food needs to be ordered at peak times as items run out as the afternoon progresses. Also surprised that the rest room facilities are outside though. Recommended to visit!

This is a popular place. Has a good choice on the menu and specials board, an amazing choice of cakes, ice-cream and deserts. Plenty of seating areas plus outdoor seating in the gardens. Very polite and professional staff. Number of different areas to sit and enjoy.

Coffee isn't the strongest but the very nice lady put an extra shot in for us. Nice food, cakes look delicious and are huge.

Not only did the attendent pointedly check her watch when we were ordering, the other staff were sweeping the floor whilst we ate throwing all the dirt up into the air and eventually on our food. Someone else was topping sauce bottles up with no consideration for use by dates and finally the check out person was so annoyed that we had the gall to be ordering food that she couldn't even be bothered to take the order properly. I shop here but I won't eat here again. Avoid at all costs if you you want a pleasant service.
