Having read so many good reviews we decided to go to Tall Orders for ordered a take away. I ordered a sausage baguette expecting a nice crusty baguette and good quality sausages. I could not have been more disappointed, the baguette was soggy and the sausages anemic looking and tasteless. Two other people with me ordered jacket potatoes and were very disappointed with the tiny amount of filling in them.

Hadn't eaten here for awhile and due to it being a Friday lunch time only just got a table. We ordered veggie panini's which were tasty and then a delicious lemon cheesecake. Cost was reasonable and the staff pleasant. Only downside is that when ordering at the counter you have to wait for drinks to be prepared which can slow down the service.

Although cafe not busy service was slow. Wife and I had wraps, which I could not recommend. Mine was supposed to be coronation chicken but it was mostly lettuce with some sauce amongst it. If it contained chicken it was hard to find, so sparse. Orders were very small for the price charged. Wife's coffee was okay but my milk shake was hopeless; not much flavour and warm, not at all chilled or cold. Overall, terrible value for money. We certainly won't go back.

I have visited this cafe many times and always found it a pleasant experience. Try smiling and saying hello - the servers seem shy but open to positive people! They have colourful art on the wall and the large windows provide great light with a view of the busy street. First, the toilets are always clean (unlike other nearby places). The staff are always friendly and helpful. They are especially kind to senior customers and I've seen them offer to carry their coffee/snacks to their table. If you ask, they are adaptable and can adjust dishes, if possible (like not adding mayonnaise to the tuna etc). The coffee is great and much cheaper than other nearby cafes. For those travelling by bus, the stop is just outside.

We have walked in many times and it has always been full. Fortunately when we visited on Friday afternoon there was a table available. We didn't really see what all the hype was about... The service was extremely slow, We was served a dried out jacket potato, the cakes were also dry and the milkshakes were extremely overpriced for what you got. We wont be going back again.

Just visited for a Christmas Eve brunch. Awful service, no menus out, had to search the whole cafe for one. When are food came out my husbands was terrible! He ordered scrambled eggs with salmon on toast, looked like he’d been given the scraps, he was offered no sauces and again had to search the whole cafe to find some. Once he found it the waitress came and took it from him. Mine was as awful barely cooked jacket potato with Jared beetroot and average cottage cheese. Then to top it off a waitress comes up to our table holding bin bags asking wether we had asked for carrot cake...nope definitely not. LIVID. Won’t be back

It takes a lot to make me write a poor review but several years of lacklustre service mean that the moment has come. Tall Orders - this is your just desserts. This place takes its clients for granted. Order a scone and find that you have to beg for jam or cream (actually don't bother they don't do cream). It's counter service here so the whole experience relies on staff (nearly always engaged in talking amongst themselves) making as little effort as possible. Who are the management/ owners? What's their story? You will never know as there is no information available. The decor is tired - think Athena posters meets Lyons Tea House but without any of the charm. Tall Order is rife with condensation and often very stuffy. When a queue forms the staff look so disgruntled - almost as if how dare you bother them. In short this business doesn't care about the customer experience. It offers no empathy and no customer love. I will carry on buying from there because there are not that many decent venues yet in Stowmarket. But if you are thinking of opening a new cafe - do it. The current competition is complacent and easily betable. I will be very keen to see if they get better.

Good menu with some unusual dishes. I had a wrap with chicken, bacon, garlic, red onion, mushroom, tomato and mozzarella cheese. It sounded delicious and it was nice but it lacked something. Similarly, the cake selection was varied but not particularly appealing. I opted for a chocolate brownie which was average. Excellent range of soft drinks including milkshakes and fresh smoothies. I had a raspberry and blueberry smoothie which was a bit boring-just the fruit mixed with apple juice. Coffee also was average. Overall a pleasant lunch but not exceptional.

However I arranged to meet a good friend today and he suggested Stowmarket so who was I to argue. Anyway we decided to have lunch in Tall Orders and overall it was good, not very good and above average so due to choices here I plumped for the average score. The service was quick. efficient and genuinely friendly and this is at best unusual nowadays, the café itself is large and roomy with wooden floors and is clean. First time we have eaten here and would not go again. The panninis we had, apart from being small must have been from a cheap value range, one rasher of fatty streaky bacon, a small amount of cheese and a few slices of mushrooms all for the sum of £4.45. each. What a disappointment! We had scrambled egg and bacon with coffee. The cafe was empty but I still waited some minutes at the counter to be seen. The bacon was extremely cheap thin-cut, economy and fairly tasteless. It was dry and hard. The scrambled egg was very firm and equally tasteless, served with thin-cut white supermarket economy bread. The coffee had coffee grinds around the rim of the cup and was bland. When I ordered I asked for the coffee to be served with the meal and was told that this might not be possible if they had a queue of people waiting to be served - there was nobody else in the cafe at the time!! The prices were not as cheap as the food deserved - I'd say over-priced.
