Food was absolutely lovely I ordered for home delivery a large lamb curry and 5 chapattis with a bottle of coke it was one of the nicest and most gorgeous meals I've had in a while the food was authentic and really felt like I was in India eating it the chapattis were cooked properly and the lamb curry was so tender it was beautiful the sauce was amazing the spice was just perfect no complaints at all will definitely order again thank you

Food was absolutely beautiful! I'm not one to always finish my food but I certainly did today. Korma was lovely and creamy. Saag aloo was perfect! Came early too

A quiet Sunday night., but the food was poor. Large children pieces in a mundane curry sauce. Sorry wont be back.

The food was cold on delivery. We had £35 worth of food and expect it to be served hot. We ordered our food at 7:45 for 9pm and it appears to have been sat there waiting for delivery due to the soggyness of the food. One of the pots were broken in the bag so our food was covered in lime sauce. Never ordered before from here and not happy with the quality of food.

The curry sauce was so watery , it was edible . The prawn madras was filled with tiny little overcooked prawns, I expected larger prawns so was disappointed. The balti was decent. Disappointed, it was much nicer last time i got it

Dissatisfied with my order tonight…firstly I was sent a chicken dish even though I ordered a meat dish… I am still surprised why the chef didn’t make the meat dish once he realised the order was messed up instead I was given extra poppadom..also the paratha were shop bought not restaurant made…

First class food and service. The Banquet Menu on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday is brilliant value. Thoroughly recommended to those who know a great Curry. Thank you!

We order each week, always hot an taste lovely

Where do i start with this, the abysmal service or the sorry state of the food. service first. We arrived at 18:15 to an empty restaurant (it was a Thursday) to a stroppy waiter who basically left us to our own devices. Once we worked out the seating we and put our drinks order in (they couldn't even get that correct) we heard the dulcet tones of our ponytailed waiter asking for our starter orders. we hadn't had time to check the menu properly but that didn't stop him. This bit gets a bit complicated, one of the party had had a stomach surgery so couldn't eat a grate amount so didn't order rice or nan bread and asked if his starter could come at the same time as his main. You would have thought he had asked for ponytail boy to empty the till by the reaction. Anyway food quality time. the starters my Tandoori chicken had seen better days tough is an understatement. As for the prawn cocktail it was the most disgusting pile off mess (that got sent back but never got replaced. My chicken Madras has obviously been reheated due to the amount of water in the sauce, i left half of it as the chicken was just plane nasty. my partners ordered a biriyani main part of the dish came out vegetable curry came out 10 minuets later.Now on to the end of the night the payment. As i mentioned earlier one of our party had not ordered rice or bread but you guessed it they where on his bill (naughty ponytail boy) my bill was incorrect so another heated debate ensued. All sow they didn't tell us it was cash only until we went up to pay. so we all tarped off to the cash machine next door. this might seem light hearted but the long and the short of it bad service and evan worse wood. Do yourself a favour and choose any of the other indian restaurants in Harlow.

I ordered a delivery at about 7.20 last night. It arrived after more than an hour. Although the actual meal was nice it was cold , and the poppadoms were tasteless and the dip too. I was disappointed as have used this restaurant on and off for more than 20 years and never had a problem

Forgot mango chutney Popadoms stale

Food was awful and it was thrown away. Chicken in makhani tasted off, it tasted sour. Rice was clumped together and the naan was doughy. I have ordered from here in the past and it used to be nice but last couple times it hasn’t.

Poor quality, cold from the delay and I got raita when i ordered and laid for chutney. Not a great experience, and apparently when your food is 25 mins late and you call up to enquire, you are told just to wait.

Takes seriously bothering me to get me to put up a review. 30 minutes late, but its the calling up and customer service when its late that really f’d me off when they tell you just to wait and guestimate yourself. Food turned up cold and was very bland, maybe they were busy and just bodged my order but it wasn't worth the inflation cost we paid. Also got a part of my order wrong but put off calling to complain, would rather just avoid straight up in future and try elsewhere.

Perfect quality, great taste, good portion size. Very pleased recommend. Friendly service. Very good value for money.

The delivery driver was friendly. I would have liked more of a lamb flavour to the lamb but aside from that, the food was very good. Only one more feedback about the menu: some parts of this menu say "meat" as an option. It would be nice to know if it's beef or lamb as both can be referred to that way. I had to order the Malayan instead of the korma because the korma only says meat but I wasn't sure which meat. Stating which meat will really help with our choices. Thank you.

Need to change menu as it saids if you spend over £40 you get free bottle of drink or cobra which isn’t true.

Although it was on time. He forgot the bottle of food which he delivered about 12 mins later.

we dined here and had a great time, it was not busy so no reservation necessary. the server was a very pleasant and nice to talk to guy who made the experience even better. portions were good size but a bit much for us and they were kind enough to give us a doggy bag to take it with us, so we ate the rest the next day and it was still delicious! 👍

Ordered from here tonight after going for 3 years what an absolute disappointment…. The jalfrezi smelt burnt once opened it was way too spicy for a jalfrezi it also didn’t have any of the ingredients that should be in this dish… chicken korma and chicken tikka masala also spicy too much for this dish and have ordered this for years. Called to complain which never happens only to be greeted by an imbecile on the other end of the phone who thought the situation was highly hilarious…. Order also didn’t come with dip that was ordered and the onion bhaji was full of grease… DO NOT RECOMMEND… lost our custom.

The korma was so watery the bag was flooded with water when we opened, water all over packaging and in the onion bhajis, the korma did not at all taste like korma, like it’s watered down. So disgusted with the meal we have got here, will not be getting from here again ! Rice and sides were completely ruined ! Thanks the the watery korma. Horrible!

Ordered at 19:10 it’s now 21:00 and still not received my order phoned up sounds like they forgot to cook my order and was like will be another 20 mins phone down!!! 20 mins gone and still waiting Shocking service tonight

The food was barely warm, the garlic naan had no garlic in it. Will not be ordering from there again.

Don't know why I keep ordering from here! Ordered half a tandoori chicken, requested 2 legs but told we had to have 1 breast and 1 leg. 2 very dry breasts arrived! I ordered extra mint sauce and received none! Onion bhaji uneadible as so over cooked and no sauce to make it better. When I called to complain I'm told that they will make it up to me next time! There will be no next time! Every time I order something is wrong, well no more and I warn you, if you order from here you will be sorely dissapointed!

The food was disgusting! Nothing to taste like Indian food, everything was very bad, very sweet !I will never order again , I put everything in the rubbish bin! And prepared my own dinner for my husband and my kid ! I don't know why you got good reviews when the food isn't good at all ! 😐 We are very disappointed!

Sold me rotten cauliflower,alo gobi,soon as I put it in my mouth you could taste it was rotten,and it was only item very hot, they knew it was bad,smelt bad as well.

The food at Tales of India is exceptionally delicious & amazing! I highly recommend this place.

Meat was a bit chewy but otherwise a fantastic meal.

Joke of a takeaway 2 and half hours, still no food.

Really lovely place, very friendly staff and delicious food. Ask for the banquet dinner it's a 5 course meal for £14.95. We are leaving with food to take home because the servings are very generous. Definitely a place to come to if you feel like affordable and very good curry. The chutneys served with poppadoms at the starter are the nicest we've ever had! Kamal gave great service with a fantastic sense of humour. He will go out of his way to serve and advise on what curry you would enjoy.

I get delivery from here and every time the food has been excellent and within the timescale for delivery. Well done guys keep it up.

The food was good and we were pleased. Mixed tandoori really good - dad couldn’t believe how much meat he got. The food was only warm which was a shame, but had we heated up plates it would have been hotter. They remembered my extra mint sauce which was great. The justeat app & restaurant seem to say different things as the app said the food left the restaurant at 20.40, however when I called at 21.05, they said it had only just left 5 minutes ago. I would order again as I liked the food and it’s very good value for money. I would only order on a weekday though as over an hour on a Monday is a long time - I suspect longer on busy weekends! Delivery driver was very pleasant.

Called in to order a delivery and the guy answering the phone couldn’t take down my address properly and kept saying it wasn’t coming up on his screen . He then rudely put the phone down so will not be dealing with this restaurant again

Food was lovely but missing a Nan bread from the order.

Ordered a meal through their own website at 3.30 pm for delivery at 17.55pm an email was sent to me confirming my order, checked their website at 17.30 it confirmed my order, at 17.50 the website said my order was being prepared and that was the end. I called the restaurant at 18.30 and they didn't have any idea about my order, I used their website because they do no longer recognise just eat even though their website says they do. If you want your meal to turn up stay well clear of this restaurant.

Food was ok. Not much flavour to the chicken dansak and chicken tikka masala, rice, naans, poppadums was good. Waited 15minutes longer at the restaurant when collecting also even though I was notified it was ready to be collected 5minutes before expected collection time.

Onion bhaji was boom, half tandoori chicken was very nice, roti and naan was still hot and very nice aswell. Both curries were also one of the best I've had in harlow.

This restaurant is my first choice restaurant. Of all restaurants I know I like it most. I always suggests to my friends to go to visit this place. Whenever I feel like having a proper lunch or dinner , this place comes first to my head. Great and varied food and a rich cuisine.generous staff, and agreeable spirit. It was an absolutely amazing place. The food was great with a wide selection of indian food and english food. The staff was extremely friendly and welcoming they was telling us jokes and made the atmosphere amzing we are definitely going back :D

I would have given 6 stars but the Prawn Puree with bland and swimming in ghee however, the rest of the meal I couldn't fault tasty, the service was excellent yep I would or will order from there again
