Dial Indian in Harlow

Waited 2.5 hours for delivery when we were told would be between 45mins to 1 hour. Called after 1.5hours and they said food was on its way and would be 10 mins. Another half hour passed still waiting. Called again and they said the driver had just left. Waited another 20mins and still no food. 2 and a half hours later food finally turns up only to be half poured into the bag… half of the food inedible due to spilling in the bag. Called to ask for a partial refund and they said they will pick up the full order in order to get any kind of refund. Terrible service, shocked by how unprofessional the people answering the phones there. Really disappointed. Won’t be ordering from there again.

The food was lovely and reasonable too. We all enjoyed it very much. We will order again from you. Thank you once again. 👍

1st time online order and delivery

This is my top rated indian takeaway, which I've used for years. Although most people use fast food apps to order, I order from their own website or go there and order and wait. The food is superb and the portion sizes are more than fair. I love the value of the 3 and 4 course banquet meals, but my favourite dishes there are the chicken tikka nan roll, sag aloo, sag paneer, and chicken dhansak.

Best curry I've had for a long time.freindly staff.meal was nice and hot as temperature wise.meal had flavour fire or chillies.cant beat it.would recommended to enjoy a nice meal

I placed an order tonight online after placing the order, it told me it would be with me 5.40 my order didn't arrive till 6.10 very poor service.

Had a takeaway from Dial Indian tonight and it was absolutely delicious, every dish we ordered was really good, also it turned up nice and hot, it wasn’t oily at all and it didn’t take to long to be delivered, good work guys, I will definitely be ordering from you again soon

We have been ordering from Dial and Indian for the last five years. The food has always been absolutely wonderful. Never had any problems might be a few delays apart from that we are very happy and we will still continue using its using their service.

Service was friendly and helpful. Food was hot and tasty. Bombay aloo was possibly the best I’ve tasted. Great value for money.

Terrible right the way through from the minute I wrongfully selected them via Justeat. To think I had a bad service before and i was talked into giving them another try as it was 4 years later. Food took 1.5 hours to come, we was told up to an hour. It took 3 phone calls to them for the restaurant to make a call to his driver and take us seriously. No apology or care when it came. I’d describe the food as offensive. Stale popadoms! Ive only ever had stale poddadoms the 2nd day they must be old or sitting around. You cant order a single chutney sauce they charge you a pot per poppadom i had to pay £5 .40 on 3 bloody poppadoms because you have to order equal amounts, but the kids love them. Not the stale ones. The lamb bhuna was the worst. I counted 6 small pieces no bigger than a 20p each. Horrible sauce, fit for a dog perhaps. Seriously, the food and service so was bad i was compelled to come here and write this review its deserved. Avoid at all costs. Not even a free full meal worth £50 from them would convince me to remove this advert, people need to know. Hang your heads in shame, Dial an Indian.

Food was really tasty. A veg curry was delivered in place of a pilau rice however I called dial indian and they had a portion of rice delivered within 5 minutes of the first delivery... Great service!

Bad tasteless food, they throw in random spices that do not mix with the dish. Also i asked for rice and prawns they just have me plain tasteless rice.

Food was cold and not as expected

Onion bhajis was overcooked and burnt. I’ve never seen a kebab roll done that way so it was strange and not too appetising rice was okay chicken tikka masala wasn’t over excited

What a load of tasteless tough food got the mix grill normally it’s really nice. It was so bland had no flavour whatsoever. The only thing that was ok was the popadoms the mint sauce had no flavour so all in food was a load of rubbish and was warm when arrived. Mixed grill was only fit for the bin. Would not recommend and will find somewhere else in future. People don’t waste your money with this restaurant it’s food is poor service and quality

Ordered a king prawn curry,4 prawns looking like a 3 yr old had peeled them. The rest was a weak washy flavourless pot of sauce. Pilau rice was white,plain and bland.worst “ curry”/ takeaway I’ve ever had anywhere.a shame because I used to eat from dial often and they “were” ok. Never again,go somewhere else.

hair in naan bread, forgot some of my food. when I ernt in to ask if I can have a fresh naan bread , they accused me of putting the hair in the bread myself. the chef became aggressive and threw my car keys at me.

Food was 2 hours late, restaurant didn’t have a driver to send. This is the third time in a row it’s happened, won’t be using them again. Would not recommend.

considering i spent almost £30 on this meal, i am horrified, for starters, my order said it had been delivered 30 minutes before it even arrived, when i called the store they said it was about to leave so i don’t understand why it said it had already left and then been delivered, secondly, when it eventually arrived much of it was cold and i needed to reheat it, the tikka masala was sour, the lamb inside was overcooked and way too chewy, the chips were soggy and over salted, the honey khuney was the only decent thing that arrived but even that was over sweet, the naans were also soggy and burnt, overall i’m appalled at the service i received today, absolutely abismal

Why go anywhere else, really nice

I have used Dial Indian exclusively for some time as I found their food so much better than all of the other local Indian takeaways. Often the food is very late, but I’ve stuck with them because it’s usually so delicious. Tonight, they were very late and forgot to put one of my dishes in, which was frustrating, although they sent it after I called, but we were already 3/4 through dinner. However, also, worth noting, the actual food quality was not as good as usual tonight. The flavours were much more bland than usual, it wasn’t really that enjoyable for a £70 takeaway. I would like to hope that they had a one off bad night, but really not impressed today.

Given time of 17.45 it arrived an hour late. Wont bother again as usually order from Garden of India.

Ordered at 6.00 delivered at 7.55. So disappointed as have ordered food from here before and has mostly been okay. This time food was not great (looks like the yoghurt was forgotten in the madras) and the Honey Khoney was extremely sweet and cold (as was most of the food). Think I'll try somewhere else next time 😢

Excellent food just arrived a bit later

All the food tasted the same, felt like whoever designed the meals has not put any effort in the taste and the structure of each individual meal. Each dish should represent its own character yet for the majority it was all the same. Not impressed and I will be passing this on to the people I know.

Nice hot food and reasonably priced - just 30 mins late - not too much of an issue as food was good but some may not be too forgiving - better than some Indian takeaways 3.5 out of 5 if it could be rated like that.

Food not bad but had to chase food twice to see how long it was going to be

My Dansak was vinegary and I struggled to find any lamb. I didn't get the mango chutney as ordered. Apart from that it was hot.

Order was due 7:15pm .... it's 8:04pm and I'm still waiting! The restaurant won't let me cancel and the man was ridiculously rude after I said he shouldn't accept orders he can't fulfil in a reasonable time frame! Never again!!!!

Even though our food was 20 minutes late it was well worth the wait! The food was undoubtedly the best Indian takeaway we have ever tasted and it turned up piping hot!!! We will only be ordering from here from now on and to be honest as long as it’s as good as last nights they can be as late as they l like. Well done dial India!!

Rude! Rude! Rude! When my order was lat, I called to see where my order was and girl said it’s own it’s way and told me not to ring again and hung up on me!!! I cancelled my order!! Never again

As always - the food is great, but the quoted delivery time was far from accurate. If ordering from Dial, do so at least half an hour earlier than you think you need to, but expect a tasty meal when it does arrive.

Food was delicious but they clearly take more orders than they can cope with. Ordered the food at 7pm with 7:50pm ETA, arrived at 9:30pm after a number of calls to the restaurant after the order was incorrectly marked as delivered twice.

Only a little late, but Keema Rice was burnt. Ruined the rest of the curry. Shame as I have never had quality issues.

Lovely food. It was delivered over an hour late tonight due to delivery driver issues but it’s normally always ordered really quickly so we can’t complain. Food was hot and as good a quality as always. Would definitely continue ordering from them.

Disappointed with the amount of meat in the chicken dish, and in the keema naan, everything else was nice. The delivery service was not good, why allocate times of choice if you cannot commit to them. I ordered the food at 7.35pm and was offered asap or 8.25 as first slot. I went for 8.25 and it finally arrived at 9.20pm. I received a message saying it was on its way at 45 mins before it arrived, which wasnt the case. Why don't you just be honest saying first delivery slot at 9pm etc then customers wouldn't be disappointed or ringing all the time.!

Arrived Hot, fast and delicious!

It’s was good but, the meat was very small and the mild curry was not really like Indian taste a lot of small veg and really small and, they was nice enough to give me two mint yoghurt because I couldn’t found it on the menu thankyou so much.

Apart from being very late, the food was awful, could forgive lateness if tasty but worst Indian I've ever eaten, in fact I couldn't eat it, it had barely any flavor, cauliflower and potatoes too mushy, sauces far too sweet, tandoori bland. Steer clear.

I phoned twice. The restaurant is 3 minutes from my house.. I was told that it was being packed and is on the way. It arrived 45 minutes later. The delivery guy turned up and showed no understanding of social distancing. He had no face covering and stood 18 inches from me.

Delicious curry. Not oily at all which made such a big difference to other curry houses. Lamb was abit tough but nice overall. Second time ordering from here and will be ordering again. Ordered the lamb rogan Josh and a mango yoghurt one. My favourite peshwary naans. Just sad it was abit late but it was valentines so we'll let them off as it was probably busy.

The food turned up an hour after the estimated delivery time, in the meantime I had called the restaurant three times, and they had told me it was on its way about half an hour before it arrived. I was expecting the food to be cold, but it was still a good temperature, and tasted pretty good. The prawns were ever so slightly overcooked, but still edible, sauce was flavoursome, lemon rice was good. I would order from here again, I put the delivery delay down to it being valentines day, I expect there were a lot of takeaways going out last night, and the staff were patient with my calls.

I was told 19.15 arrived at 19.20 to be told another 15 minutes. After a further 25 minutes I got my order. Once I got home it was incomplete, missing dishes and the food was pretty tasteless

They are ALWAYS late. You get a notification saying it’s en route - it isn’t. You call and they say it’s just “leaving” (it isn’t) - final time for us ordering here. Plus the food always arrives - cold - do not waste your time or money.
