I have been a regular loyal customer of this restaurant. Dining in and ordering takeaways. I placed a near £50 order this afternoon. To takeaway. Starters and main course. The curries were watered down & tasted off, and the rice tasted Stale and reheated. Also the starters were dry and hard. The food Definately didn't taste or look like it had been freshly made today. I dont know the reason why the food was substandard. However it spoilt our dinner party. Have the restaurant changed management ? Or changed chef? Because it was not the quality it should be or used to be. Dissapointing at best.

Recently, I had an unpleasant experience at your restaurant due to the behavior of your new staff. While I understand that your policy is to ensure customer satisfaction, the frequency with which they checked on us was excessive and disrupted our meal. I kindly request that you train your staff to be more mindful of this and to limit their interruptions. Additionally, I noticed a disparity in the treatment of customers based on their perceived ability to provide tips. This is unacceptable and creates an uncomfortable environment for all patrons. I hope that you will take steps to ensure that all customers are treated equally and with respect, regardless of their perceived socioeconomic status. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

We went early Tuesday evening. Restaurant was empty. Food was first class. Service was efficient.

We eat there on Thursday with friends who ordered for us. Food beautifully presented and wonderful flavours - not too hot. Quick and friendly service. Recommend the butter Naan’s

The chicken served was off. On the mixed grill, whatever chicken was used had a funky gamey taste to it that should not have been there... not sure if this was frozen for too long or what but it wasn't pleasant and I didn't want to continue eating the mixed grill. The chicken in the momos were also funky. Their vegetarian option, the manchuria gobi was delicious and so was their naan.

Good food. Okay service and had a party on so a bit noisy but otherwise very nice.

First time visiting here and what a fantastic place. Authentic, fresh and welcoming. Probably the best curry I have ever had, or at least the best by far, that I have had in a long time. I also highly recommend the Keema nann and the Gulab Jamun desert with ice-cream! Only thing that took away from the experience, was how quickly they took away dishes and stuff on the table, sometimes whilst eating. If this hadn't happend, it would have been 5 stars on all sections of the review. I would certainly recommend this to anyone who likes indian food. It will certainly be a go to for me and my family now! Please be mindful that there is limited parking though, and is straight off a main road, so you can't park out on the road! Can't wait to come back and try some more delicious dishes I haven tried before!

I booked Takaa Taks for my birthday meal on Saturday 17th August. I went in a couple of days beforehand to check my booking and speak to the very helpful "Akanksha" who put my mind a ease and confirmed the booking and allowed me to choose which table I liked as I was coming for my family birthday meal. When we arrived, it was great to see your restaurant so busy and a great atmosphere. I always book here because I find the quality of food excellent. Plus you are my local Indian restaurant and it's nice to see such authentic food at its best. Akanksha seated us on time, she explained that the food may take a bit of time as the restaurant was very busy, so this was nice that she gave us enough notice about the timings which I appreciated. Akanksha seemed as though she was in control of everything and very organised. She was very polite snd when my starter did not arrive with everyone else's, she was very apologetic which I appreciated. The food took a long time between courses but it was very busy and I appreciated the gaps between different courses as it allowed me to relax. We had the butter chicken and the Lamb Mirchi. Both were stunning, melt in your mouth dishes. Service was exceptional. Staff were very attentive, very quick, and very welcoming. Special thanks to Akanksha who served us and was lovely.

Fab food which was delivered with care! We forgot to order more rice and they just added it to the order without a problem! Totally recommend and will be using again 😀

First visit here and it didn't disappoint. Very caring staff and service was impeccable. The atmosphere and ambience was light and airy. The food...mixed grill starter was so tender. Lamb kebabs melts in your mouth and the lamb chops were divine. The chicken karahi and butter chicke were out of this world. Would highly recommend this place and I will be back soon.

We ordered food for first time and it was really disappointed, taste was like it was cooked 2-3 days ago.nan was too small and I ordered 2 poppadoms and they delivered half.I will not recommend this restaurant for takeaway.

a absolute delight to be a client of this superior establishment Thanks to J & the girls for their service & attention thurs evening the guys who accompanied me(some for 1st time) were very impressed with the quality of cuisine(very tasty & plentiful (lamb mirchi lagi was a highlight for the newbies,they like it hot & this was to their liking),standard of service nothing too much trouble & the vibe the establishment exudes . Food was outstanding 😋. Have eaten at various Indian restaurants but this was value for money and by far in the top five. Service was also top notch. Another trip will not be far away.

Amazing restaurant & service!! We’ve been to many Indian restaurants over the years & we’ve eaten many gear meals. However, the meals we had here by far exceeded our expectations. They were hot, which is rare when you visit any restaurant nowadays & there was lots of meat which was so tender, it just melted in your mouth. It was presented well & the service was great too, very polite & professional. The place was spotless too which is one of the things I always personally look for in a restaurant as it gives you an idea of what the kitchens are like! One tiny flaw I’d say was we felt slightly rushed, not that it was overly busy (7pm on a Saturday evening) there were people coming & going constantly, but there were a few free tables, so I don’t think they needed us out & it was reserved 7-9pm any way. If it hadn’t have been for this we would have given a 5* review because overall all it was an amazing dining experience & we will definitely be going back.

Landed at this place after a long tiring day the Alton Towers and found the joy of delicious authentic North India food with a perfect Punjabi vibe. All the food we ordered was flavourful and tasty. For starters we ordered - veg Grilled platter and Amritsari Fish; Amritsari fish was 10/10 while platter was good too. For kids mains we ad Butter chicken and nan, very few butter chickens come close to what we get in India and this was close enough. Talli Murg, Lamb Karahi, Kofta and Dal Tarka were all very good along with hot crispy nans. Don’t miss their Masala Diet Coke ! Highly Recommended.

Tandoori momos are toooo good. Never had something like this in UK. Takaa Tak restaurant serves Indian food menu. The menu is very vast and has variety of options like North-Indian, Indo-Chinese, etc. Both Vegeterian and Non-Vegeterian options are available. Would definitely recommend to have the Tandoori Momos, you won’t regret. I have visited this place twice, once of weekday when the service was good. However on weekend, service was very bad. We were in the restaurant for 2.5 hours to complete our dinner. Service was slow.

One of the amazing hidden gems when it comes to the food especially the mains…the methi chicken was one of the best curry’s I’ve experienced! The prices are reasonable but the customer service is exemplary especially from the owner whose friendly but profession manner is second to none! There’s a wide range of mocktsils and cocktails which he produces with exquisite expertise and can’t wait to get there again soon!

Sides and starters lovely (bhaji, tikka paneer, chaka chat). Curries were awful. Really, really salty (one was inedible) and really greasy. Also, none of the curries were labelled on top. Given we had all ordered different lamb curries, it was impossible to decipher which was which. Quality nowhere near the same as it is when you dine in their restaurant.

Overall, our experience at Taka Tak was enjoyable, with delicious food and good service. However, we were disappointed by the unfriendly attitude of the staff. Additionally, there were limited options to keep our children entertained, such as a shortage of crayons or pencil colors. Despite these shortcomings, we would still recommend Taka Tak for its tasty cuisine.

I was accommodated by Marina, who provided exceptional service! She was attentive, friendly, and made sure our dining experience was top-notch. I highly recommend asking for Marina when you visit – her professionalism and enthusiasm truly enhance the dining experience. Five stars!

Amazing food and good service by Akanksha

I don't like taka tak overall ,Yesterday we went there .The service was really very slow .Even they don't know who come first and should be served first .The waiting time for the food was very long .As compared to other places ,it's quite expensive because they serve very little quantity. I don't suggest anyone to go there.

Visited Taka Tak last week with family and had an amazing experience. The staff, especially a young lady akanksha , were polite and well-trained. The food was delicious, bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. Highly recommend for anyone seeking great food and excellent service. We’ll definitely be back!

Great service from Marina, lovely food

This is a really nice place well decorated with plenty of parking space. We ordered 3 curries and 3 banana. Soy Chap and kadai paneer tasted great. The Kofta taste needs to be improved, it was quite bland, even the curry sauce didn’t help to lift its taste. The naans are not uniform. One naan was really think and crispy it didn’t taste like a naan but more like a tandoori roti. Overall the food good but, can be improved.

We loved Taka Tak for the food and service. The last 2 times we visited however was a bit of a disappointment as there was too much salt on most of the dishes. Our friends also found the chicken overcooked and hard to bite.. I hope the management continually monitors the taste and quality of food that it serves.

Moved here from wales 6 months ago pass here most days had 2 takeaways but decided to go to restuarant tonight was not dissapointed food was excellent atmosphere great and staff could not have been more attentive polite and smart even coped with a medical emergency with no panics and still kept excellent service to all definately going back with rest of family highly recomended

Can't fault the food but the manager/owner of presented wrong bill, which we initially paid without checking. When he gave the correct bill he added an additional £37 of drinks to make the total bill equal to amount we had paid. Usually id not look into it any further but he had removed the bottom part of bill which states the subtotal etc. very unusual that 2 tables have exactly same grand totals. When I confronted him he said it's a mistake and that he will refund the difference of £37 to the card. But on further checking he only refunded £31. After further complaint he explained it as another mistake and eventually refunding the correct amount. Extremely shady to say the least.

I have been ordering from this place online quite regularly since last 6 months. I always liked the food. Would not call it great but it is decent. However in my last order online, out of 4 rotis 1 was missing. I promptly called the restaurant and informed. But, I was quite disappointed with how they handled the situation. 1. They did not acknowledge there could have been a mistake at their end, rather they told me the chef has packed the correct order and asked to check at my end. 2. Eventually they apologised and asked me to come and pick up the remaining piece. Another option was to get a free roti next time I visit. An established restaurant like this neither had the courtesy to re deliver the order nor to provide refund. It’s never about the money, but when you lack the basic manners in dealing with a customer, it’s best to stay away from such a place. Every business starts its own demise with uncivilised and insensitive behaviour.

The food here is amazing! We tried the lamb chops (quite spicy!), chicken saag and butter chicken along with mushroom rice, garlic naan and poppadoms. The service was great - staff were friendly and our food was brought out quickly after ordering. Everything was delicious and tasted fresh. It was busy in there (Saturday night) so book ahead to be sure of getting a table. The car park is a bit on the small side, so you might need to park down a nearby side street and walk the rest of the way. But it's worth it!

Indian restaurant that will transport your taste buds to the vibrant streets of India. An aromatic and tasty food. Ordered food for collection as staying in near by hotel. Due to some reason, I tried to order through deliveroo or just eat but it wasn’t allowing to order online hence had to order through their own website and collect the food but at least food was great. Finding different place to have some nice indian food but overall fine.

So, we went last night for dinner. According to prices food was not that much good(taste and quantity) Then we asked for salad, they give us 4 pieces of onion, 1 slice of lemon(just a slice) and 3 green chilli as we were 3 people and for this kind of salad they charge £3.99(quite surprising). Never recommend anyone.

Went here as a stopover en route to Leicester, honestly one of the best food I’ve had in a while. Service, atmosphere and food has to be 5*. Person serving us Marina made us feel welcome and accommodating. Thank you. I would recommend their lamb curry and garlic naan combo. Will be returning soon!

I took my daughter and granddaughter here early on Wednesday evening We were first through the door . The guy who greeted us was friendly and made us feel at home . The food is simply great . Really tasty and authentic. All in all a very enjoyable meal . My daughter said it's the best curry she ever had and I agree . 👍

I’ve always loved the food from this place. However, I’m disappointed this time. The carrots in the salad were half black. One of the item was missing. Very disappointed.

The place was located on a main road which was easy enough to find with decent parking However on arrival we found the welcome ordinary just led us to the table and menus handed out.There were no napkins only paper ones which were dotted around on table . Tables were ok nothing special laid out like a day out at darts match. Starters were decent portions however the chicken in the tandoori grill was dry and bland . The mains were adequate portions again nothing to shout about .Will not be returning atmosphere was almost dull didnt help

OK where do I start! So it's nye 2023, and me and my husband fancied a nice Indian meal before we started our celebrations at home,( I always read reviews before I eat out,)so this restaurant had mixed reviews! But we decided to go for it and hope for the best and let me tell u we was NOT disappointed, if I could give this more reviews I would, from the start to the finish we had absolutely 5* service nothing was too much trouble they couldn't do enough I had the butter chicken my husband had a baby chicken grilled it was so tasty I really recommend it. They was such a lovely waitress named Marina she should absolutely 💯 be recognised for the outstanding service she gives and was so attentive well done to you 👏 u made our dining experience that much more enjoyable so thank u and u carry on doing what u do best,, can't wait to see u again in February for my daughters 18th birthday ❤️. Authentic Punjabi food. Had our Christmas party here food was fantastic, I felt like I was goingvto explode I ate so much!

Booked a table to come and eat, service was horrific. The starters took 45 minutes to come out and when it eventually did the lady coughed in the mixed grill. After that we ate our veggie starters and did not continue the night here. The food is very bland and lacks alot of flavour, if im honest its not a pure punjabi grill place at all.

The momos were rock hard and dry, the butter chicken barley had any pieces and it was too watery. Disappointing.

Disrespectful Boss doesn’t know how to deal with customers, rather tells them his opinion of not booking tables at his place because not sure about his chef cooking confidence. Every staff has not been taught the right information/ dealing with customers with different information to your face and denying about the information not being said to your face at the same time. Staff Customer service is good but horrible experience and the food is very dry/chewy flavourless. FIRST IMPRESSION AND LAST WAS NOT ACCEPTABLE ESPECIALLY FROM THE BOSS BALDEV!

Not good - very upset from their service boss (Baldev) does not know how to deal and speak with customers very rude and disregards customers. Staff has been friendly and helpful. Boss forced us to cancel our booking by changing menu prices for us and changing statements in front of our eyes (Insecure and incapable dealing). Plus their food is very dry, there is no taste to it such as the paneer tika or Mixed Grilled Chicken. Not recommending this at all!

A very great experience it was. We randomly went to this place as it was quite late and nothing near by was open or about to close. It was a chilli climate and guess what we saw in the drinks menu?! Old Monk. The staff suggested their lamb chilly. It was really good. We also ordered mutton keema samosa and chicken lollypop. Both tasted good. Another best thing was their breads. From garlic naan, keema naan, tandoori roti to laccha paratha all were best in taste and soft. I don't think even in India also I had such soft rotis and naans. All in all it was a great experience.
