Sag aloo was a bowl of salty spinach. Curry good flavour but tough dry chicken. Onion bhajis terrible frozen oven style. Restaurant needs serious renovation I personally wouldn’t eat in.

We visit Westgate-on-sea once or twice a year. We never miss a visit to this unique and fabulous restaurant. If you want the usual white shirts, black waste coat, fast food, plates removed as you finish the last bite, then don't come here. If you want a relaxing take your time, incredible food which is cooked as requested and not earlier and heated . The owner is so funny and cheerful. Nothing is too much. Prices are brilliant. Portions are great, always food to take home. I honestly couldn't recommend this jewel of a place enough. We've been here every year since we were told about it, so around 6yrs. Another great meal tongiht. Will be seeing you again next year. Thank for the memories.

Amazing food, great service, classic atmosphere, if you're in the Westgate way I recommend coming here! (And bring your own alcohol!)

This is a special place and I couldn't rate it higher. If you want fast service for a take away or eating in it's probably not for you but if you want great food which has been individually and lovingly cooked, you won't get better. A genuinely lovely family run restaurant, it's not the fanciest but the food speaks for itself. Great choice, freshly cooked to order, generous portion sizes with plenty of meat/seafood/veg and very well priced. People keep coming back, our family have eaten there for over 25 years and wouldn't go anywhere else.

Came for dinner with the family for my Dad's birthday and everything was wonderful. The food was delicious, generous portions and cooked fresh. Prices are reasonable and being a family run restaurant it's got a really friendly and warm atmosphere. There is street parking just outside. Note the restaurant does bit serve alcohol however they are happy for you to pop across to the shop and pick up some wine or beer for no corkage fee. Will definitely be back.

Onion Bhajee was so doughy, and salty that they were inedible, poppadoms were chewy and stale and chicken tikka sauce was like water and tasted awful

1st time using Taj Mahal and it’s the best Chicken shashlick I ever had. We will definitely be ordering again.

Food was Ok but my biryani was greasy and not like any other I’ve ever had couldn’t taste the spices for the grease was really disappointed. Would not order from here again much better places.

I went to this restaurant there were three of us there.food was not vary hot and the owner charged us twice so I argued about this got my money back.i don't recommend this old Indian owner shop for Indian meal.

I NEVER leave bad reviews, when it comes to food I'm easily pleased but this was by far the worst takeaway I've ever had. I'll start with how it arrived... inside bag and plastic outer bag, smothered in the sauce from the food, looking like the lids hadn't been sealed properly. So that was fun to get out. Opening up the containers; the masala had what I can only describe as curdled milk at the top. The keema naan was black around the edges, not a thin bit around, a rather large amount was burnt. Eating the food; bland, watered down and i dont even know how you managed to undercook the meat inside the burnt naan bread. I've not eaten it, and im glad it was only me I ordered for, because frankly, im embarrassed for you. £20 wasted... should of followed my gut when reading through your menu, an Indian restaurant that cant even spell the name of their dishes?

Extremely disappointed with the sag paner... Just spinach and cubes of cheese, not creamy at all and the tikka starter was pale and watery

We have eaten here for the past 3 years on average once a fortnight. The Owner is always friendly and extremely welcoming. The food is always freshly prepared and delicious. The atmosphere is relaxed and easy going. We took my 94 year old father on our last visit earlier this week and he’s already asking when we can return!! Enough said!! So, if you’re looking for proper Indian food and you appreciate proper Indian food you’ll struggle to find better food, a friendlier service or better value. Give it a go !!

This is mine and my boyfriend’s favourite local restaurant, we are always made to feel thoroughly welcome and the food is absolutely delicious :) Babaul, the owner, is a true gentleman and creates a wonderful atmosphere and dining there is a total joy! Highly recommend 👌

Absolutely brilliant food. Traditional British curry house; all your favourites, slightly dated interior, super friendly host. I had a 'meat' Madras with extra garlic and it was easily one of the best curry dishes I've ever had. One negative: do not order the wine! It's horrific! Note to owner, your food deserves better wine! Top stuff

The gentleman that owns this restuarest is generally a nice man, but I found the food unpleasant, full of oil and lacking flavour. The curries were very sweet. For the price you pay the food wasn't of a proper Indian style and more like imitations of Indian food.

I visited the Tajmahal that allegedly got 4.5 stars on the 19/8/2018 and found a very humorous waiter (not). Spoke to some people next to us who said the food was great. I now think they needed to get their taste buds in order although...

Delicious Indian food , ideal for a take away. King prawn korma to die for, huge variety of North Indian genuine food, big portions, friendly staff. Highly recommended. Oh and very clean place as well.
