Taj Indian Restaurant in East Lindsey

Earlier this afternoon before the restaurant had opened I walked by and toke a picture of the menu and phone number posted in the shop window. Just tried to order and phone number is invalid. Tried to Google another number and same one comes up. No idea what food is like because no way to order it. It's can't find any website with number on or a decent menu to read tbh. It's 2022 you can make website on square space or something in like 10 mins. This kind of thing puts me off ever trying places again :(

I went here with my mum for some food.It was horrendous. Never again would we go to this dump. We complained & got told to fu£k off. Horrible people

I can honestly say this is the worst Indian food I’ve ever had... waste of money (£30) didn’t eat a thing!!! AVOID

As my wife will not eat Indian mostly have Chinese!! this time she had eaten out so was my chance to treat myself to an Indian?? Treat did I say??? Ordered in shop was told because its all cooked fresh it would be 30 minutes! no probs! after 10 mins its ready? think they just took it out the cupboard! cos it was stone cold! chose from the House Special menu dearest one Royal Jalfrazi chicken lamb and king prawn marinated in chefs secret herbs and spices? it was such a secret that the chef didn't know about them? just tasted like gravy! more flavour in a packet of crisps! 3 pieces of chicken and 2 of lamb which I couldn't chew because of gristle and no king prawns at all?? it went in the bin!! I am local so needless to say NOT AGAIN! back to Chinese! Ps onion bhaji and mango chutney were lovely

Had a couple of takeaways during our recent holiday. Had the set menu for two, which was good value. We had these mid-week so not sure if this made any difference as it wasn't busy, and whilst not the best we've had they were perfectly okay.

Came here in November last year and was delighted in the food we received.... Fast forward to now, and what a change. Food was simply disgusting. Ordered 2 Lamb Baltis, 1 Lamb Saag Balti and 1 Chicken Tikka Masala, and to be honest, have tasted better from a jar. Seems the 'chef' is very limited to what he can produce, because on this showing.....wow. The price was extortionate and how you can charge £8.95 for a starter is beyond me. Good job we purchased our naan breads and poppadoms before hand. Genuinely hate complaining, but the food was THAT bad I felt the need too. Perhaps the prices and quality will return out of season....who knows?

We are locals and used to use the Taj all the time - not any more. This is now some of the worst Indian food you will buy from a take away anywhere in the UK. To say it has gone down-hill is an understatement. Avoid if you can and buy elsewhere.

Bland food with absolutely no taste at all. I honestly would rather get one of the pre packed boxes from co-op or do without. I assumed the bad reviews were a one off but sadly not. Save your money.

Ordered a starter for a main course so they doubled it up and I said I wanted Basmati rice . The guy behind the counter kept saying what I ordered and said Boiled rice. I corrected him several times. I checked the curry when I went to pick it up and yes they had doubled it up even though it turned out to be just a bland chicken curry, after correcting them several times, the rice had br on the lid, so I assumed it was basmati rice. Got home guess what it was boiled rice!! What is the matter with these people don't they listen.. so I rate it 0 out of 10, really annoyed, won't be going back again ever! What a waste of money. This Indian takeaway used to be excellent, whether they have change ownership or not I don't know but quite honestly I don't care as I will never give them my business again!!

It's becoming a joke now. How many times are they going to mess up simple orders? The owner clearly tries to save money. If you order 2 or even 3 separate naans they will squash them together in 1 bag. If you order some that comes with sause and salad like onion bargi. More than 1 portion you expect each to have salad not a shared one and a single sauce. Hardly speaks english over the phone and the delivery driver is scruffy. happy to take a time thou knowing he'll be back bringing something out they have missed. We were regular customers and no more will we be spending money here. Every order has been wrong and not always that tasty so save your money. Oh and because they don't spsak english if they missed something. They charge you extra. If they got raided I'll have money on a few people getting deported

Having had a poor takeaway a couple of years ago from here we decided to give the Taj another chance during our recent holiday. We were pleased how it had improved. We had the set meal for two and everything was fine and really tasty. It was clear to tell the food had been freshly cooked as it was still very hot when delivered. It was far nicer than the takeaway from the restaurant nearby that we had earlier in the holiday and better value.

The chicken vndaloo was hot but not tasty, the taka dahl was a thin soup with no lentil substance, the saag panneer and keema naan were okay. We didn't realise that mains came with pilau rice and so ordered extra rice, the person who took our takeaway order over the phone could have told us!

on the 15th june 2018, I received my takeaway, not only did I not get the 2 cans of cola but the so called meal was cold, when opening the rice ,much to my horror, there was rice weevils running around, the rice was obviously pre cooked and reheated but not reheated correct which is what causes the insects, ALL went in the bin. had I not been so shocked about the rice weevils and trouble working and driving due to illness, I would have taken it to the restaurant, this is the third time I have had a problem with the food from Taj takeaway mablethorpe, I am still considering contacting the authorities of this awful experience... Four of us had takeaway from here. Best Korma I’ve ever had very tasty and piping hot by the time it was brought back to our caravan. All had different meals and all thoroughly enjoyed. Going back there tonight.

Ordered here OMG it was a tasteless curry everything about it was terrible , just luke warm I rang up to say how disappointed I was and how much it cost ..the lady said Oh Well and put phone down on me ...NEVER AGAIN it all went in bin

Ordered from this place via JustEat and they, the takeaway, automatically added 30 minutes to the delivery time. They have a great selection of special, not your run of the mill, curries. We ordered a dinner kebab and one of the hot lamb special curries. Both were superb. I’m from Bradford so know my curries and this one was brilliant. My lad said his kebab was great as well. Delivery was bang on time (and it wouldn’t be busy if it was bad).

Ordered food at 6.40pm, said it was going to be ready and delivered by 7.55pm but didn’t get here until 9.15pm which is 2 and a half hours after I ordered. I understand it may have been busy but that is ridiculous. I rang a couple of times, once at 10 past 8 and was told it would be another 25 minutes, I waited 40 minutes and rang back for them to tell me it would be another 20 minutes. When the delivery driver finally bought my food he didn’t apologise for the long wait, he just said ‘here you go’ handed me the food and turned and walked straight away didn’t even give me chance to say thanks. Opened the food up to eat it and the chips were uncooked and still hard, the food wasn’t great but I didn’t bother sending it back as I was starving and had waited so long for the food to actually arrive so didn’t want to have to wait another hour or so for fresh food. Would rather not have wasted my money on this takeaway. Next time I’ll be going else where. Terrible customer service, no apologies and below average food. This was supposed to be a nice meal for me and my partner but it’s totally put us off for good.

Possibly the worst Indian takeaway in the uk,curry was full of oil rice was over cooked a nan bread was tasteless-had to throw it in the bin

Ordered a takeaway and was ready on time ,served politely. Food was very nice and hot and full of flavour. Portions were very generous.would recommend and will use again 👌🏻

We had a takeaway from here while on holiday last week. Reviews seem mixed on here but I can report it was a perfectly fine experience! Good value, ready to collect in 30 minutes, plenty of it (full portion of rice included in price of main meals) and tasty to boot! Was it fine dining? Certainly not, but for a cheap and cheerful curry to eat in our caravan it hit the spot. Would definitely use again.

Gran relación calidad-precio y la comida es muy sabrosa. Que es muy buena relación calidad-precio, pedimos dos curris uno con arroz con patatas fritas, equipada con dos panes naan y fue entregado a menos de £20, que es una fantástica relación calidad-precio. Los dos panes naan no venga en la misma bolsa, lo cual me imagino que probablemente podría ser un problema para algunas personas, pero no nos molestó. Felizmente la orden de nuevo!

Have used the Taj for a good number of years always a good take away I usually have a korma rice ect and never had a bad one yet

Visiting my sister and she treated us to a curry. We drove over to place our order. Service was quick and friendly. Everyone liked their various chicken, lamb and beef curries. Being a vegetarian I had the dahl and two veggie samosas. I split open one to 'check' it was veggie, the second one was clearly a meat one, disappointing, that should not. The poppadoms were slightly burnt and the chips were like warm.

Food was horrible, service was ok. Not much more to say really. Stay away and spend your money elsewhere. Just don't go here, they need to close.

Me and my family stopped at haven in maplethope and decided to have an Indian takeaway so we ordered from the taj takeaway to be frank we just put it in the bin and went to a local Chinese to eat when it came there was more oil than sauce and the meat if you could find it was none existent and for a £20+ order we expected more than this, I'm sorry for leaving a negative review but I feel it must be put out there I don't now the staff or owner I'm just a visitor to that area at haven.

Last nights left overs order pathia come brown tasted rubbish and bland, naan bread was stale and hard, would rather eat my wifes cooking than from this place again the one positive got one free popadom.

I placed a order for delivery, was told it would be about 50 min after 2 hours still no food I will not use again very poor service

We used the delivery service, the food arrived promptly and piping hot---very nice--was a little disappointed that 'Masala' was not on the takeaway menu but was very happy to see there was an 'English food' section ( one of my sons doesn't like spicy food but the rest of us do

Have takeaways from here reguarly , always lovely food, and good prices, promptly delivered and always nice and hot and of good quality.

We ordered takeaway when we were staying on holiday on the caravan park and it was delivered quickly and the food was really good.Good food and good service and reasonable price.

As a last holiday farewell we decided to order curry.Ordered from the Taj, initially told our food would be delivered between 45 mins to an hour later.20 minutes on our food arrived and we plated up. Plenty of meat in both curries with plenty to go around.Would recommend to others to try it out :)

Wow I've read the reviews of this place and totally against my best judgement I decided to get some food from here and how I was glad I did.....I had onion bhajis which were cooked beautifully as a starter and chicken chilli and pilau rice as a main which was very tasty and packed with chicken,a bit sweet for me but a lovely meal and coupled with a very nice keema naan I was really impressed especially with the reviews that have gone before,this is definitely at least a 7/10 based on my experience

Fancied an Indian meal the other night. Phoned order though for me to collect & was told twenty minutes.Got there when advised, paid & by then our meal was ready. Ordered 2 chicken tikka masalas with a pashwari nann to share.I'm literally two minutes up the road, got home took plates out of oven & served food straight away. I have to say the food was not that hot & really needed reheating, I also noticed that the sauce was extremely red, more than it has been in the past & also extremely sweet! There was plenty of meat & to be fair was fairly tastey but I can't help thinking they are buying inferior ingredients?Maybe next time Taj, I'll try the restaurant at the end of the road & see how they compare? Overall 6/10.

Had a take away for 6 of us, spent over £30. No free poppadoms, nothing, zilch.Miserable staff. Bland tasteless food and even the naan breads at asda are better. Infact, I would go as far as saying I have had better ready meals!!!!This place won't survive in such a quiet town, it's very very poor.

The food was delivered exactly when they said it would be no arrived piping hot. I have had meals in restaurants that weren't as hot. The food was tasty and of good quality. The house special biriyani was delicious and other meals were well spiced.

I have used this takeaway for years , it has currently been took over from joe! well since then it obviously gone down hill! so its a Friday night ive been at work all day dont fancy cooking so order a takeaway at 7.00pm got to half 8 and no takeaway called to say it had left 9.oop it turned up as im on the phone to manager he tells me its not his fault his new talk to the driver, to whom said he would knock 2 quid off or he would take it back.. not happening after waiting 2 hours so sent it back with him!! I then was told next time to cook my F*&king self if i wasn't happy with a 2 hour wait as it was a Friday night, if they explained on phone it would be 40 mins ! so whos fault is this as i the customer im sure its not mine but the new owner obviously thought different ..so after many years of being a happy loyal customer i will never give this takeaway or line the pocket of someone so rude and lack of customer service skills!such a shame.
