Best Indian in Glossop, never anything other than amazing quality/tasty food from Taj. Request are always met with no hassle, great service

Absolutely superb wife had a Malayan and I had a Vindaloo and it was as good as it gets, will be ordering from here again without hesitation. The naan bread was just out of the oven it was charred and crispy just the right texture to mop up all the gravy. This is an edited review which supersedes my first review , whatever the restaurant has done it has worked.

Top class and the curry is soo good would recommend if you guys are curry munchers

We regularly use Taj balti for our family get togethers and as always the service and the food is excellent. I would highly recommend it to anyone in Glossop looking for an Indian takeaway.

Superb Chicken vindaloo the meat was exceptional quality and the sauce was spot on. Chips were plentiful and the plain naan was anything but plain it was delicious. Value wise it was more than worth the price and will be ordering from there again very soon.

We had the meal for two Lamb Madras and chicken Rogan Josh. For £23 3 x starters plus mains. Delivery was on time too. Great value and quality.

The tandoori chicken was tasteless, the popodums were small. The meal was not worth the cost at all, total rip off

Think it will be the last time we order from here which is a shame as we have ordered from here for years… about the last 4 times we have ordered and it as took over hour an half to come and when we ring to ask where it is it’s always the drivers fault!

Ordered a lamb madras this evening with garlic rice, never used this takeaway before but the lamb was the worst I have ever tasted in a curry I’ve had. Wrong hard and full of fat, lamb should be tender and not chewy and hard ! Not sure if this is a one off but not great let’s be honest most of it went in the bin !

First time i tried this takeaway. Got the lamb hoppers and they are amazing! Had the lamb tikka biryani with saag sauce. The lamb was tender and the sauce was full of flavour. Will be ordering from here again.

I’ve had the Vegetable Garlic Chilli Special three times now & it’s absolutely delicious! The roasted garlic in the dish is genius 👌 The Bombay Potato side dish was excellent too. I’ll be ordering from Taj Balti Glossop again very soon! 👍

Lovely authentic flavours and good portion size. We had poppadoms with chutneys followed by biryani and a Rogan Josh with garlic nans. Nicest biryani I've had.

Ordered online, for delivery, quite late in the evening. New customer so wasn’t sure how it would go. Half an hour later food was at my door. Fresh, hot and very tasty. One of the best curries I’ve had. Thank you.

Tried here for the first time and it wasn't great. The onion barges were rock hard and the Balti curry had no flavour. I'll have to jump in the car next time and pick it up from elsewhere.

Our beloved local curry takeaway. Everyone has an opinion on local takeaways, often varied but I can say factually that we have used Taj Balti for about 7 years and have been consistently happy with the quality, generosity of portions, friendly and helpful service, thoughtful touches. My partner is a fussy eater who will stick to what he likes and he rates their vegetable samber as among the best, also their raita, naan, lamb hoppers and chicken pakoras are particularly good. Plenty of interesting dishes to try from chef's special menu if you are a bit more adventurous than my partner. Better value than the other Indian / Bangladeshi takeaways in Glossop without compromising quality.

We had a fantastic takeaway as always from Taj. After we mistakenly thought our naan bread was missing another was delivered to us for free even after we had called back to say it was our mistake. It was a lovely gesture from our favourite Indian in Glossop. Thank you 😊

As usual a Fantastic curry!!!! Hands down the best curry house in Glossop. Been coming here for years and never ever had a bad meal. Usually have the garlic chilly special which can be be sometimes a bit too spicy for me or a Bhuna but today I fancied a change so I rang to ask for a meal suggestion. After telling the polite man on the phone what my flavours are he recommended that I go for the Garlic Balti special and he was not wrong. The flavours and spices in this were stunning! Ate the whole thing which isn’t usual either but I just couldn’t stop scoffing it down with the beautifully cooked Keema naan. Thank you again and see you soon! 😊

Honestly hand on heart these lads know how to knock up a good curry takeaway full of flavour, fresh ingredients and plenty of ambition. You know when you taste a curry house you needn't look any further

Recommended by a local friend but was disappointed. I'm guessing it was a rush job (Friday @ 5pm) even though it took a good hour to be delivered. The delivery guy was the best part of the meal, very friendly. Had Lamb Achari, garlic pilau and garlic Naan. Lamb was insanely tough. Sauce was good. Pilau rice was greasy. Naan was OK but too sweet for me.

Food is ok but their ordering system is confusing and tip of 10% automatically added. It's possible to remove the tip but practically difficult. Placed an order accidentially but Taj refused to refund me. I will check my credir card statement snd contact the bank if necessary. Furthermore, I will report this place to the Trading Standards. I admit I lost my marbles with these guys. They said they would contact the Police for hate crime. Where's the Police? I'm still waiting.

If you like a curry then this is the best place in glossop to get one. I've had 2 chicken madras curries now and both occasions they where perfect and taste delicious. Thanks taj balti

Fantastic takeaway. The Lamb Balti I picked up Saturday night was incredible. Best I've had by far. I accidentally left my cash card at the restaurant and the staff saved it for me until I managed to retrieve it several days later. Outstanding food, outstanding staff, outstanding honesty. I've just had a chilli garlic special from the Taj Balti in Glossop, it was the best curry I've had since I don't know when, a great curry, I'll be back. 👍👍

One of the best in the area, if not THE best, got a Mixed Kebab tonight, fresh and tasty, my go to place for kebabs now, and the curry is top notch. Easy ordering, arrived on time, and not too pricey, highly recommended.

Good food, very tasty and excellent value for money. The service is good and we didn't have to wait long for our order to be prepared. Really appreciated the NHS discount too. If we are in the area again will definitely visiting again

Don't bother. Order a lamb curry, you'll get 3 miniscule, micro cubes of lamb that equate in size to about half a slice of wafer thin ham. They skimp on the ingredients, and tend to forget what you ordered. Order a naan and it's likely they'll forget to put it in the bag. Garbage.

Must be the worst Indian take away food I have ever experienced, avoid at all costs, tasteless greasy and disgusting! Chicken pakora was horrendous, everything was so greasy, the only thing that tasted any good were the frozen chips, do not waste your money!

Worst take away or sit down Indian meal I have had in a long time. Starter was meat samosas with chicken dhansak as main. 75% of Indian places produce superior tasting food. Pilau rice and poppodom wered fine but that's not saying much. Something else I disliked was the automatic addition of a 10% tip to anything ordered. First time I've ever seen this for a takeaway. See one price and get charged another. Very bad practice.

Another magnificent takeaway from the Taj Balti. Every single item is simply delicious. The staff are so friendly. Cannot be faulted at all. Looking forward to the next one already.

Tried this place for first time after I finished work. Bought a house special curry which was about £8 with samosa and a naan bread. Curry was absolutely tasteless. I mean baron of flavour. 2 pieces of dry chicken tikka, 2 very tiny cubes of dry lamb (like jerky) and 1 solitary prawn and random tepidly warm chicken leg in the middle of it. It was rubbish. The peshwari naan was a sticky sugary mess and I couldn't hold it without getting it everywhere. Very bad. The samosas where really doughy and the meat once I found it was as dry as a desert..I spat it out and binned the 2nd one. They must have been a week old..no excuses there guys. Your food is not fresh and it is tasteless. Waste of £15. I believe you've been in Glossop for a long time. I suggest you taste all your dishes yourselves and make some adjustments because I, my partner and my daughters after trying my dish all had the same experience with it. I'm no chef but after visiting India 3 times and traveling to other places I know now to make a curry. This was not a curry. It was a lightly spiced gravy with very dry meat added.

Fantastic, best curry Ive had in Glossop in a long time. Service was good and food arrived within the 1 hour timeframe given. We had the Balti Rogan Josh and Balti Massala, both veggie, they were delicious! Really liked the cauliflower bhaji which I had not tried before. Looking forward to ordering again!

We have been here a fair few times now, and have never recieved anything less than brilliant service and great food! Easily the best take-away in Glossop and the surrounding areas!! The set meal for 2 is such good value, it is ridiculous!

Whilst in isolation due to the coronavirus ordered a takeaway delivery for myself, wife and daughter, service was excellent and delivery within 5 minutes of time slot, good with the present lock down situation. Food was hot and good quality,fresh and very tasty, will be using again. Only gave 4 stars as the online ordering collapsed after making payment, but been assured our card will be credited.

Absolutely fantastic kids all had child's buna they are 13 9 and 11 with big appetites plenty for them me and my partner really enjoyed our curry to great flavours delivery was excellent arrived on time will definitely order again

This was a takeaway meal accompanied by onion fried rice. The rice was ok, but the lamb rogan josh was very peculiar. It consisted of a glutinous tomato paste with a few bits of onion and tiny chunks of meat that had not been cooked in that sauce. No herbs or spices except a bit of coriander leaf on top. The meat was tough and the sauce so bland I spat out the first mouthful and gave up. Too busy to return it, hence the bad review. It's possible that on the Saturday before Christmas they were too busy to make a decent rogan josh, I don't think they could have survived in business for long if their food normally tasted like this. But I had to sit through a rotten Star Wars film with an empty stomach so I definitely won't be going back there.

We ordered from this place for the first time this evening and whilst I have no complaint re portion size, quality of food cooked - it would have been nicer had it not arrived luke warm. The poppadoms were turning to soft as well BUT the mint sauce, mango chutney and red onions, definitely the best quality we’ve ever had. Husband had the Balti Exotica, and although he enjoyed it, he said it was just like a chicken drumstick and a lamb chop. I’d chosen the have a variety of bits from the starter menu, the chicken pakora had more outer coating than chicken as was thick and heavy and sadly the onion bhaji cold :-(. I know on a busy Saturday evening you will be lucky to get a delivery from anywhere that till be piping hot and am mindful of that, but it didn’t help it wasn’t delivered in a thermal delivery bag. ALSO, even though our gate has Please Close the Gate signs on both sides the delivery driver left the gate open and our dog get out later but thankfully obedient enough to come back and that there was no traffic coming.

Ordered a take away via their website (using a mobile), there was a lot of information on all the dishes and options and it was very easy to place and pay for the order. Really liked the ability to pick your house from a map rather than just entering a postcode and address. The food was delivered within the time they had estimated when ordering and it was hot fresh and very tasty. Will use again and would recommend.

Many things to enjoy on the menu. Best korma in the North some say. Everything fresh and healthy. Take-away only though.

If you haven't already you need to try a takeaway from here, the food is out of this world and well worth stopping by for, I have never had a bad curry from here, portions are very generous and always cooked fresh.

Wouldn't even give this place 1* absolutely disgusting customer service, items missing off my food order, was promised delivery and refund, 35 minutes later they said they'll sort it next time? I've been hung up on twice and told they're not delivering at 9:30 which I highly doubt. Anyway they're supposed to be bringing me a refund when they close at 11pm which I highly doubt will arrive. Nothing worse than poor customer service and this was beyond shocking!! Have used them for years never ever again!!!

Ordered takeaways for the first time, we're usually pretty picky with curry houses but we weren't disappointed. Delivery was swift and friendly, food was obviously fresh and piping hot, everything was of good quality. Chilli masala and madras had the perfect amount of spice, nice and hit but not overpowering. Sheek kebabs tender and tasty, rice and bread all great. My only slight criticism was there was a sweetness to almost everything we ordered, however where I would usually find this an unwelcome quality to a curry it was all very pleasant despite being a little sweet. We will definitely be ordering from here again to try other dishes.

Usually visit restaurants but decided on a takeaway for a change. What a find! The first pleasant surprise was they accept online orders for delivery. Some specialities I hadn't even heard of but decided to try a Murghi Sallom. What a delight! Large portion size with an exquisite taste. After the order had been accepted a delivery time was stipulated and the food arrived well within the timeframe. Will I order from there again? You bet I will!

Tried a few places in Glossop some good some not so good but never had a bad fish from here. The delivery service is good which is a bonus due to parking on glossop. They sent the wrong dish once but it was a nice change and a more expensive one so I didn't complain.

The standard of food from Taj balti is always excellent . The staff are very friendly and happy to alter dishes if you request it ( is making something hotter) . Best curry house in glossop .

When you order a curry and it's delicious, you rarely get a repeat performance. We order from here at least three times a month and the standard never varies...reliable, fresh tasting food which they will spice up or down depending on your taste.

Have been here a great many times. Best Indian food in Glossop. Never had a bad meal once. Can't beat it! I would recommend the chilli chicken massalla. It's like heaven on earth!

sólo me trasladaron a la zona hace unas dos semanas y nos apetecía un curry en casa. Intentamos tandoori king ya que me habían recomendado y era pobre. luego intentamos aquí la semana después. Mi hijo eligió como parecía limpia. pedimos por teléfono y son muy amables y nos dijeron que no habría 25 minutos. Llegamos a tiempo estaba esperándonos. hacía calor y muy agradable. Elegimos una fritada desi ya que estaba en los platos exclusivos y me quedé impresionado.

Taj balti is the best at what they do which is to cook best food in glossop been in many places but they are the one with excellent food and the service I would always recommend every body to try it out *******

I felt too weary to cook and so went for a takeaway. I wish I hadn't bothered.There were errors in the order-taking, a demand for payment for something that had been left off the order (despite our having already paid for something that we hadn't even ordered) and a failure to notify that payment could not be made by card; all this meant inconvenience and delay for what turned out to be a very bland meal.The lamb Tikka was actually quite lovely but the onion bhaji certainly wasn't. However, the real disappointment was the main course. The "Eastern Traditional Spinach and Chicken was incredibly bland and the Lamb Rogan Josh was little more than tomato and capsucum. It really was an effort to eat the meal; not at all pleasant - the lamb tikka notwithstanding.
