Ate there last night. The food, service and atmosphere was second to none! 5 star.

Went in at 6pm on a Saturday, very quiet and nice atmosphere. Service was brilliant and quick, food was delicious. Highly recommend. We had the Mutton Devil and Mixed Seafood Curry - very good!

UNBELIEVABLE came here for my birthday and will definitely be coming back....cocktails amazing Service amazing and the food is on a different planet

Delivery was on time in line with the time given once the order had been placed but that was much later than the delivery time given BEFORE placing when I went through the list of places to choose from. One of the reasons I chose this place was it had a shorter time but then once I'd paid the time was longer than some of the others even and almost twice what it had said. Very disappointed with the food as I had heard that this place was good. I found the food unremarkable and found two of the three starters very dry. I personally didn't taste the main as being unaware that choosing the sharing option on the starters meant they would put them all in the same box, my husband's non-meat starters and my chicken wings were in the same box so I had to have all the starters and he had all the main. He was underwhelmed by his food also. Maybe just not to our taste. We don't have take out very often and really this reminded us why. BUT this may be our taste and not the restaurant we used. So I would suggest people try and decide for themselves.

I had the Garlic Chilli Chicken curry with Yellow rice, the curry was spicy but not intolerable and had flavour other than spice. The Yellow Rice had raisins and cashews which made it a bit sweet and was different to rice I usually get but i really liked it. The curry portions was small which I felt a tad annoyed at for the price and definitely smaller than a lot of curries I come across. Also tried the egg roti was pretty good, crispy with gooey egg inside and these crispy potatoes which I don’t recall the name but they were also pretty good. The dessert was the Chocolate Biscuit Pudding and it was so chocolatey and I enjoyed it very much.

Such great food and very good service! We got the kottu roti and chef special - both excellent. Highly recommend!

The taste of the food was not good for us, but this may vary for everyone. The service was far below the standard. For example, the waiter brings food when there is a plate from the previous meal on the table and waits for you to put it away. The atmosphere is not bad. But the price quality is not up to standard.

Had a wonderful experience at Ayubowan. Food was delicious! Starters were full of flavor and were a good variety to choose from. Lamb curry was also flavorful and tender. Good service and a friendly atmosphere.

We visited on Easter Sunday for the monthly vegan buffet - always on the last Sunday. You walk in up the stairs, which initially look and feel a bit grim - but persevere, and arrive at the restaurant. The decor was bright and reflected the Sri Lankan culture. We chose to sit in a booth which was comfortable and intimate. The service was excellent - attentive and friendly. The buffet was set out really well, everything was clearly labelled. The choice was fantastic, so many starters, mains, and desserts on offer; everything vibrant and fresh. The food was delicious and it was great to try so many different dishes. It’s all you can eat for £19.95 and you can definitely make the most of this as there is no feeling of being rushed. The vegan buffet starts at 2pm but before this there is an omnivorous buffet available. There is no cross contamination issues as there is a break between so all food on offer after 2 is definitely vegan. Highly recommended!

We just went for lunch and the food was incredible. I have not had such amazing, authentic and delicious food like that outside of Asia. I can't recommend this restaurant enough, the owner was warm and welcoming and the service was exceptional. We will be back again.

We hired Ayubowan to provide food for a family party at a local venue. The team at Ayubowan were really helpful both in the booking and suggested food to have. On the evening they were quick to set the food up in large traditional copper bowls and warmers which looked superb, adding a special touch. The food itself was superb. The curries and sides were sublime and everyone at the party thoroughly enjoyed it, many going back for thirds, fourths and fifths! And there was very little left at the end of the evening... enough though for me to enjoy a little more at home. A perfect amount and variety of food for the money. If you are having a function I would recommend Ayubowan. Friendly, talented chefs, very easy to deal with, and will impress your guest and help to make your special event memorable. Thank you Ayubowan. You're awesome!!

I have dined here on a few occasions, both from their regular menu (amazing food and excellent value!) and more recently their Sunday vegan buffet. As a none vegan with vegan relatives it made a refreshing change to be able to eat out without any need to pre-plan and fret about what people were going to eat - on top of that everything we had was fabulous! I would highly recommend Ayubowan to anyone!

No customer service at all No one asked if our food was ok When they came to collect plates my husband told them the food wasn’t good and couldn’t eat it We got no apology, nothing we expected at least know a bit of the bill A young lad was serving and seemed more interested in his phone than customers Definitely gone down hill , small portions and sat on wooden pallets No atmosphere at all

Disappointing. Ordered a biryani and a nasi goring. Both were really stodgy and dry; and the nasi goring was just a chilled-up version of the biryani, with no real flavour difference between them. Portions were massive: one dish would be enough for most people to share between two.

Really nice Sri Lankan food right on the Glossop high street. Good vegan options. Best of all before going there it was so easy to book our table online. Our meal was delicious tonight. Very happy with the quality of food and the level of service. The taste is absolutely fantastic. Even the chutney in our starter was spot on.

Not been here for a few years but went recently and it’s not a patch on his it use to be. The interior use to be plush and homely and it’s now got seating made out of pallets. More a street food vibe? The over all quality of the food and staff has dipped too over the years. Such a shame. There are better places to eat in Glossop and at better prices

Just had another takeaway from Ayubowan and it is just divine. Hot, fresh, flavoursome curries and love the sides like the sticky aubergine. Their food doesn't feel greasy like other curries, it feels healthier and more flavoursome. They also cater excellently for Gluten Free.

Ordered the dare devil chicken burger expecting to be spicy. but il say was falsely Advertised but potato with chilli an garlic butter was very tasty

The devil chicken is now too spicy, the dips are bland and overall its just too pricey. We ordered a takeaway as a treat but it wasn't worth it

Great restaurant, up there with the best in the area. We come over from Stockport especially to go here. Great value at the best of times… on Wednesdays mains and desserts are two for one!

Normally very good, but tonight’s curry can best be described as ‘watery’. Very disappointing.

A brilliant find! In Glossop for a walking weekend, saw this place on way in. So welcoming, friendly staff. Amazing food, can't rate it highly enough. We shared chicken and jackfruit rolls (spicy and v tasty ), then devils prawns and the chefs selection, which was a bit of everything, exactly how I like to eat. Would definitely return if we come back to High Peak.

I had the pleasure of dining at this fantastic restaurant yesterday and was absolutely blown away by the entire experience. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted warmly by the staff, with Dilanka taking the lead in ensuring that my evening was nothing short of extraordinary.

Decided to try it for the first time with friends who are vegan but we're either vegetarian or meat eaters. Everyone loved the food, even our kids who are normally quite safe with their food. Great portions, lovely flavours and beautifully seasoned. Will definitely go back.

Curry was ok but popadoms clearly old and stale very disappointing and inedible

Stayed over in Glossop for the night and dined at the restaurant after a lovely day walking. Wow what an amazing gem of a place for Glossop. The staff member Dilanka gave exceptional service and the food was to die for. I had the Red Beef curry and egg roti and the beef was melt in the mouth tender and the curry sauce was packed full of flavour. Will be sure to be back again on our next walking trip. The taste, was horrible, indefinable, unpleasant and with a gritty texture. The meat,(mutton)was in small cubes several of which were mostly connective tissue and fat. This was my second order, and fared about the same as the first.

Wow what a place! Not only is it really welcoming and chilled inside, but the food is out of this world! I never give a 10/10 but 🏆🥇you must try this place

Terrible service and the exit is too small if you are over 5 ft 10 so you bang your head on the door frame. Yes they have a sign but it’s the smallest sign in the world and you won’t see it

Very disappointed. Have always enjoyed the restaurant food. Unfortunately, the nasi goreng (chicken and prawn), was awful. Chicken was unrecognisable as chicken as it was so hard. Two prawns in the whole dish (also inedible…rubbery)! Felt like the meat was frozen and then cooked and reheated. Poor. Won’t order for delivery again. 😔

Fantastic food. Great Sri Lankan dishes that were all really tasty including the poppadoms and chutneys. Only shame was slow initial service but picked up as soon as we ordered drinks. Ambiance was great too. They do a buffet on Sundays too

We moved to Glossop recently and this was our first meal out in town - couldn't have made a better choice! Food was absolutely amazing and we will definitely be back!

This was our first time at Ayubowan and we’ll definately return and recommend this lovely restaurant to all our friends! The food was really fab! We were a party of 5 so got to share lots of different dishes – everyone enjoyed every single mouthful and our table host was so friendly and helpful. The curry dishes were a big step-up from traditional curry-houses - and the specialities offered us some wonderful new taste experiences. The meu is extensive and a little eclectic, so great for larger groups - everyone will find their own favourite Very vegan-friendly - lots of options and a willingness accommodate a couple of slight personal preference adaptations from the standard dishes. Great value for money - good portion size. We love it and will definately return (we're already planning a return for lunch on the terrace!) The stairs from the front entrance were a bit of a challenge for one of our party but there is a stair lift and access may be easier from the back of the restaurant. The staff are incredibly helpful and friendly!

The description of the dish did not include pineapple so I was a bit surprised to find plenty of slices of it dressing the dish as well as throughout. I would not have ordered it if I’d known. It was also quite wet which I’ve never experienced with a goreng dish. Bit disappointed this time tbh but I will order other dishes from you again.

It took 40mins before we got the first tapas dish even though it was a quiet Sunday afternoon. But the mains that came were fresh hot and delicious and I would definitely to try other meals.

The bhaji is tough and cold and the rice is also cold...lukewarm at best. With these prices I expected something a lot better. Very disappointed. I don't have anything else in the house so how have to have cold dinner

Went here first of all on a Groupon voucher for the lunchtime menu. It was outstanding and the food was so tasty. A really good choice for the set lunch menu and the cocktails were fun and delicious. The staff are so friendly and make you feel welcome. The setting is cosy and it's easy to get to on Glossop's main high street. We went back there to have the Sunday buffet and that is something else. Gives you a chance to experience Sri Lankan food if you've not had it before and I highly recommend this (and go hungry as there is a lot!) We are going back very soon. Wonderful :)

Went to this fabulous restaurant last night it just does not disappoint. Wonderfully cooked food with an abundance of flavours to make you wanting more. Staff friendly, if you are glossop try Sri Lankan cuisine.

In Glossop for a weekend walking with my son, went on the trip advisors reviews, an unassuming front door hides a gem of a place. Great service, lovely atmosphere and really authentic food great for the veggie and meat eater!

The food here is incredibly tasty, very flavourful! We did sample quite a bit of the menu and it was very very nice. Plenty of Vegan options as well! Staff were lovely and friendly, the time from ordering to getting food was perfect, the mains came out a perfect time from the starters. Can't fault anything about it, really excited we found this place!

Poppadom tray is just crushed poppadoms in a plastic bag, salad was pointless and chicken nasi goreng hardly any chicken involved and very little flavour. Chicken balls soggy. Small portion sizes given the price. A shame but wouldn’t order again.
