Taj 51 Buckingham Gate Suites and Residences in City of London, Westminster

Two weeks ago on Saturday 17th May, I had the wonderful pleasure of wining and dining at Taj 51's hotel for an afternoon tea. (Kona) This was a birthday treat for me. The place felt magical, a special thank you to Abi for his high level of hospitality and his personalised customer service. He made both my sis and I feel free welcome, to top it all up he provided a birthday cake to celebrate my occasion. A special thank you to Abi. I look forward to returning back to Taj 51 to experience the Midsummers Night Dream menu. Thank you very much for making my day special and an unforgettable memory. Best wishes Linda

We went for vegetarian Jasmine Afternoon Tea in Ikona at 2pm. There were 12 in our party. The place was tastefully decorated and a sight to behold! Lots of photos and selfies! The Ihona Tea Rooms were also cosy and tastefully decorated with peacock wallpaper. Outside there are lots of places for photos to make the day memorable. We had to wait till 2.15pm as they were getting tables ready after 12.00pm sitting. Abi and Bhargav were our perfect servers. They explained everything stage by stage. Lots of variety and flexibility. Starting off with chilli cheese toast and falooda. Then came the tea/drinks. Followed by savouries, scones and cakes. All were wonderful and tasty. We could have more of anything but we were stuffed and they even provided doggie bags for what we could not finish. We had coffee and more cheesy toast to finish off the day. Brilliant service throughout. Such a memorable Afternoon Tea!

Simply the best of the best. Service, food and luxurious accommodation. We stay here regularly as our go to home in London.

Exceptional service and stay experience. After the last couple visits, this is becoming my home location whenever I come to London. It’s within steps of two tube stations, convenience to shopping. I’ve always had a quiet stay, which is my preference. I can get work done at the well equipped desk or relax in the living room. Luxury bathroom and exceptional housekeeping. The bed was so great that my fitness tracker said I had a personal best sleep! Took advantage of the airport car pick up service, and while certainly more expensive than an Uber, the personal touch of being met is worthwhile when coming from a long international flight from India. Absolutely zero complaints and will definitely return.

We enjoyed our stay here, the Taj staff are lovely - it makes all the difference. Ridge at front desk, and Suevilla were great. Loved the spa, food, and drinks too. Wasn’t nice to see some badly behaved guests (no guesses from where) - entitled kids and adults, talking arrogantly to staff. Bless the staff for putting up with, and smiling through it. Customer service at its best.

This choice was a good one - this place is a emerald.Amazing Christmas decoration everywhere with fabolous lighting. So looks like very creative from each side. All staff of hotel is more then amazing and helpfull. I can recomend to visit anyone, it is great memorable moment.

We went for Jasmine Afternoon Tea during the Christmas weekend. The place was tastefully decorated and a sight to behold! The Kona Tea Rooms were also cosy and tastefully decorated. Over the weekend it can get busy but the staff managed well. They explained everything in detail that was served. The only downside being for that amount of crowd there's only 1 toilet for ladies and 1 for men, which was a bit odd. The other downside in the afternoon tea menu was the choice of only 3 variety of teas! This was also unexpected because, surely India is well known for its tea and I can think of atleast 5 varieties of Darjeeling tea alone. And finally when the scones and leftover sweets were packed to take away, I came home to discover that they had packed only the scones, not, the lovely clothes cream which they are famous for! And the scones were the only items I did not sample because I was too full. That was a disappointment too. But the best part was the Indian savoury plate which attracts Indians in hordes. The dhokla, vada pao and the lamb swirl were just amazing!!!

The afternoon tea was disappointing. The chicken sandwiches were made from just two slices of toast to serve three people, which felt very stingy. Very small portion and overly sweet pastries, the butterfly theme didn’t work as expected. While the service was good, the experience wasn’t worth £75/each.

Beautiful hotel, very polite and helpful staff and amenities. Very clean, spacious rooms in a gorgeous location . Great choice of food and vegetarian options. Definitely will return.

Executive rooms are large and airy, and quite roomy for Central London. Service - a lot of staff, but feel that they can be more efficient.

Nice hotel. Service at desk was quite friendly. Breakfast was plentiful, food was ok.

Over price and staff was not well tainted, I have been to other big places for afternoon tea, so I can camper the staff was well tainted and service in much better than Taj. I wish I could go somewhere else for my birthday 🎂

The hotel is gorgeous and the service is impeccable. Special recognition to Rajon, Panag, and Sami…who made what would have been an ordinary late night drink at the lobby bar a lovely, memorable experience. Hospitality at its finest.

Expecting the high standards that come with a luxury brand. However, my experience was bad due to incorrect bill. Accurate billing is crucial especially for such a renowned brand and such mistakes undermine trust. When I was served salted peanuts there were no napkins or tissue’s provided, my hands were getting dirty and I had to ask for tissue paper. It’s the small details like these that matter and contributes for seamless guest experience. I hope Taj rectifies these issues to maintain the quality and reputation they are known for.

Great place with good range of drinks and food.

The Secret Garden Afternoon Tea was absolutely stunning. Attention to detail was on point, customer service impeccable and the atmosphere and surroundings were exceptional. This was a perfect way to spend an afternoon in London and I would highly recommend!

The hotel porters were equally fantastic, assisting with luggage efficiently and ensuring a smooth arrival and departure. A huge thank you to all the teams at Taj 51 for making our stay so memorable. The genuine care and impeccable service were truly heartwarming. Special mention to The House of Ming: The exquisite food was a culinary delight. The chefs deserve a standing ovation for their creativity and culinary artistry. We left feeling pampered and wanting more! In short, our stay at Taj 51 was an unforgettable experience. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this exceptional hotel to anyone seeking luxury, impeccable service, and a touch of magic.

We had a lovely afternoon in the Cellar Room for a family celebration. Nikolaos and Jurgen were excellent in accommodating us and helping us plan, then Sebastian, Nikolaos, and the excellent bar staff from the Hamptons Bar served up terrific cocktails, nibbles, and drinks that went down very well. Customer service was excellent and it made for a wonderful afternoon. Thank you to the team.
