This bakery is very cozy, kind staff and good quality food. The egg tart is very fresh and has very soft egg. They have lots of options of cakes like wedding, birthday etc and very clean. Affordable drinks, cakes, bread.I got the pineapple bun, the top was very crispy sweet and the actual bread was very soft and warm.

One Pastry one coffee £5🤔 When I sat down to eat I checked the price £2.60 + £2.30 = £4.90 Not £5 So I watched this Chinese woman systematically over charge customers one after another always rounding up to the £ so not to give small change. Always asking customers with cards do you have cash we prefer cash Telling other customers who wanted just one item you must spend minimum £5 to pay by card, Not wanting a confrontation I left but will not return. Ever

My daughter bought us mung bean cake and walnut cake which were hard and almost crumbling. Rang the bakery, no manager and no one in charge to talk to. Lady was rude and put the phone down. Won't be going back again!

The bakery items are good but not as good as before. Items getting more expensive and not value for what they are.

the shop is basically a bakery but one may have drinks and snacks on the premises. Usually we just have the egg custard tarts because we cannot get them anywhere else in Croydon.

Was really looking forward to visiting this place and travel over an hour in journey time. My husband decided to go ahead and order to sit in with my daughter while I went to find a toilet as none provided on their bakery premises. ( have to go into the wing yip supermarket next door). I returned and ordered a bottled drink and 4 different buns to take away. I was getting ready to shop next door and wanting to get going. My husband decided to call me over to try one of the buns that he choose so I sat down next to him and tried a small piece of his bun. I then took a sip out of my bottle of drink due to dry mouth from a recent cold, then put the cap on and put it down. I then tended to my daughter who was sitting in her pushchair and did not want to eat. I then started to get ready to go seeing as she didn't want any food that my husband had already purchased. The lady who had served me gave me an an evil dirty look making me feel very uncomfortable. The lady then started to shout at me in a horrible toned voice to say that I needed to pay to sit price. I told her that I was with my husband and daughter for a few minutes and my husband already paid. The lady continued to shout saying that eating in was a different price for takeaway. I couldn't believe that taking a sip of drink from a bottle and trying a tiny piece of bun purchased from their own shop was eating in. My husband was so upset by this that he didn't finish his tea and decided we should go due to the humiliating way she was shouting at me in front of other customers and my daughter. I feel that this was uncalled for seeing as between us, we spent enough money and truly feel that if she could have physically pushed me out, she would have. This place seem to be interested in making money and have little interest in customer care or experience. The lady was evidently snappy and taking a greedy approach for me taking a sip from my drink which is sad. Overall the experience was unwelcoming, unaccommodating and unfriendly. Prices are high. They need to define and write clearly what 'eating in' is especially as they don't provide toilet facilities on their own premises and charge to eat in!!!

Whenever I've had dim sum next door, I always make sure I take home some cakes, as I'm hardly in this area. All cakes are freshly baked on the premises. I love the specials sign which says: "Todays specials are yesterdays left overs" so they are still good but baked yesterday and for a cheaper price. The one massive downfall I have to say is that they won't give you a box for your cakes unless it's 3 or more cakes in that box. (Even though that was my second box of cakes!!) I did eventually choose another cake I didn't need, but next time, I'd rather just tell them not to bother with anything they won't box, just out of principle. Then they proceeded to ask me "...One more?" It just got on my nerves a bit, I didn't need that last cake I was made to buy, I definitely don't need one more. I know that must be their ting they have to say, because they said it to everyone. Apart from that, I think they serve good cakes. the servers are really pushy...

Absolutely terrible! Ordered a traditional Chinese birthday cake with fruits and almonds and when my partner drove an hour each way to go pick it up, we were greeted with a cake with no almonds and only 5 strawberry halves on the top. The icing was lemon flavoured which was unexpected and nothing like what a traditional Chinese birthday cake should be. Called to complain with the manager and he was of no help. No compensation or an apology. Just simply stating they do not do such a cake and never did (which is a lie, as I've ordered there before). In which case I'm not sure why they are a Chinese bakery at all if they don't do the traditional flavours and designs. The other possibility is the waitress just wasn't listening to our order/paying us any attention, which they should accept fault for, but again the manager did not apologise for. Either way they should not have accepted the order if they could not do it with the specs we requested. Might as well have gone to London China Town and go to the Golden Gate Cake Shop (Not once let me down). On another note, customers should know what kind of management this place is under. I've heard about and experienced the poor management this place has and we Chinese people only go there when we're absolutely desperate for some baked goods (though it's poor quality) but the service just gets worse with every time we visit and this time was the last. straw. Will never visit them again. Also, I must make you aware that the owner/manager would rather throw out unsold cakes and items than to give it to the homeless or allow staff to take it home. This is completely unacceptable to me, wasting food like this when there are hungry people our there. I'll be delighted to see this place under new management!

I've tried most of the cakes here and they are all delicious and authentic to what you would get in other asian bakeries. It always smells delicious and the owner is very accommodating. If you buy lots of baked goods, they will sometimes offer you another one for a cheaper price to make it a round number (eg. if your total is currently at £4.65, you might get another cake for 45p to make it £5)They also do birthday cakes on order here with amazing elaborate cream icing which are reasonably priced!Have been coming here for years and the quality has never faltered, a must if you love Chinese baking!

Freshly baked with a wide variety of traditional baked goods and newer generation creations. A little pricey but its expected since there isn't a chinese a bakery on every street corner. Custom cakes are great. Consistently good on the breads and cakes I purchase regularly. There isn't a particular bread /bun or cake that they excel at but pretty much everything is good to very good which is an achievement in it self. Definitely worth a visit. Egg tarts and coconut breads always go down a treat on any occasion.
