The bartender Isan had amazing service and made it a very easy and enjoyable experience, he was also very handsome 10/10 would come again

ordered 1 chicken dinner, came with no potatoes. They gave us separate saucer of potatoes when mentioned. Ordered 2 lamb dinners, was served beef! Was brought out a saucer of lamb when mentioned. 1 Yorkshire pudding was cremated and inedible, 1 Yorkshire pudding was frozen in the middle. Not even offered a discount. Will never eat there again.

Lovely stop after walking the Garth. Friendly, welcoming and a great selection of drinks. Recommended for couples and families.

Awful food. No seasoning, no relish, no taste. Chips are served cold and dry. Okay for just drinks with a view. Stick to that.

We were a party of nine photographers. We had pre-booked the previous day. We have previously been here and I had a satisfactory experience, on this occasion however, it was really poor. We were greeted, even though they knew we were coming with just a choice of two meals, a curry or a burger as the deliveries have not arrived. The Curry was like dishwater or a consume soup. The burger, although cooked was grey in colour and tasteless. The only nice thing about the meal was the chips. We complained and the lady serving us asked us what we would suggest to improve the meal and we stated get a new chef. Sorry but we won’t be visiting here again until they change either of the management or the chef.

The food is great, the staff and locals are lovely and the drinks are reasonably priced. What more can you ask. A really lovely pub. Always clean, happy friendly staff and dogs are allowed in the bar. Just perfect!

Our party of 4 arrived at 7pm to be seated in what could not truthfully be called a restaurant, it was much more like corner of the bar behind a wall that had no door separating it from the musically noisy & busy bar. The seating was crammed in there so much so that there was barely room to move in/out of the seats without disturbing another diner or passer by. When we arrived there were 2 dogs in the 'restaurant'. I like dogs & have a dog myself but dogs do not belong in a restaurant. The landlord introduced himself & advised how superb the fish cakes & the curry were. He asked if we wanted the football on the tv, we said 'no thanks' but a short time later it was put on, i don't think anyone was watching it either. He also indicated that the pub was still under renovation. We placed our orders then waited & waited & waited while 3 other groups that came in after us were served before us. We then were delivered 3 starters but the 4th had not arrived when the 3 of us had finished ours. A complaint had been lodged & we were told that the ink on the printed order was unclear & the 4th order was missed? It arrived soon after, the starters were very nice but our dining experience had not got off to a good start. Then we waited & waited & waited some more, almost an hour while 3 other parties that arrived after us were served. They had eaten their meals while we still waited. Eventually, the mains arrived & in the mean time 3 more dogs had arrived in the restaurant, it began to look like Crufts! The chips were clearly of the frozen variety & were overcooked, the steaks were tender but very salty, the curries were nothing like as good as they were given to be. The curries were luke warm & again very salty. They weren't eaten. We complained yet again & finally our 'meal' was free due to the singularly bad eating experience we had there. Neither the chef nor the landlord offered an apology, it was left to a barman to receive the brunt of our displeasure. We will not be returning again.

We did a walk up the Garth one Sunday and had booked lunch at the Taffs Well Inn for 3 pm It was fairly quiet and we had a nice table, but there was not a menu, there were no starters and only a couple of choices for mains. We had the beef. It was very tough, the vegetables were over cooked, the yorkshires were very overdone and nothing was particularly hot. It was unfortunate, you could tell everything had been sat under the warming lights for ages. The only redeeming thing was a delicious pecan pie dessert. No complaints about the service, just the below average food. We would not rush back.

Decided to eat out Christmas Day so we chose taffs well inn. I must say we were not disappointed. The food was lovely and the service was quick and friendly. Thoroughly Recommend it.

Had Sun lunch, v tender beef, but only 2 very small slices. Far too much veg, such a waste. Chicken skewer starter was lovely, no complaints. Need to work on amount of food they give you, must have sooo much waste.

What a lovely pub. Called in here after a walking a part of The Taff Trail. Having read some good reviews about the Taffs Well Inn thought we'd give it a try. We were very impressed with the way the staff greeted us. Very pleasant inside, however as it was a sunny day we opted to have our drinks and food in their beer garden. An excellent menu with good choices. We chose a Superfood Salad with seafood which was well presented and a good sprinkling of pomegranate seeds. The other meal chosen was a 10 oz Rump Steak cooked to perfection and was very tasty. A huge gravy boat of peppercorn sauce accompanied it. The chips were excellent too. Both meals were "yummy" it serves food all day too. Will definitely call again and is now on our list as a favourite.

Absolutely lovely and dog friendly! The food was delicious we had a burger and pasta. The attention to detail in the little things like the side salad, presentation and the individual surroundings of each of the little heated "cwtches" outside was really great. I am dairy intolerant so chose a vegan passion fruit cheesecake which was gorgeous. The service by the waitress was superb too. Lovely pint of gem and a nice chat with the landlord what's not to love about this place!!

First time here. Pub under new owners. Good job done of revamping the garden seating area. Unfortunately it was raining the day we went. Had the burger with bacon and cheese sauce. Lovely thick burger and bacon. Cheese sauce was not so good. Think it had been heated so had gone hard and lumpy. Chips were delicious though.

I called in on a Monday and the Landlord very kindly did me a favour and got me out of a problem I had. It was very quiet, jut a few locals having a drink and chatting.

Visited for the first time tonight since the refurbishment and all I can say is wow! The Taffs Well Inn is a credit to the village. Friendly staff and the pub is stunning. I cannot recommend this pub enough and well worth a visit.

My husband and I had a lovely surprise yesterday when afternoon tea was delivered to us from Taffs Well Tea Rooms (Taffs Well Inn). My granddaughter had ordered it and it was the best ever. Every single thing was absolutely gorgeous, beautiful selection, fresh, absolutely scrummy. They also delivered to my other granddaughter whose birthday it was and they even supplied cake stands and party plates. I cannot recommend them highly enough and as soon as lockdown is over will be going there for a meal.

5 out of 5. Stopped off just for 1 drink/glass of wine, we ended up staying for a couple of drinks and lunch. Very welcoming, very friendly hosts. Food was delicious. Child friendly, dog friendly! The owner said they were having a refurb ready for the summer! We have been looking for somewhere local ish to go for a while now and this will be our new place for lunch when we have our son and also alone for the evening. We will definitely be back and will recommend, hence the 5 stars!

The Taffs Well Inn is a lovely family run pub, we have visited a few times. They put on lots of entertainment, the food is delicious especially the Sunday lunch and they have a quality selection of reasonably priced drinks. The larger/beer from the pumps is always good.The staff are really friendly and the pub has a good atmosphere. A lovely place to stop for a few drinks or a meal. I can't praise the Taffs Well Inn enough, would definitely recommend to anyone.

I have been using the Taffs well inn for years and recently new owners have taken over, the best yet! It’s now a busy, friendly and popular pub. The food is very good ( curries are fave) and the beers are really well kept and served. The staff are all polite and attentive. Highly recommended.

Saw good reviews on local FB so thought I'd try it, never again. Cannot stand ready sliced roast beef, cheap & nasty. Veggies were lovely. But the worst was to come,2 roast dinners, 2 J2Os, 1 glass of wine, £48. My God, wouldn't pay that much in proper restaurants, where you have proper beef sliced freshly. Don't bother, the whole place looks unkempt. Dread to think what the toilets are like.!!!!

Recent visit. Beer ok but music was blaring. This was a Friday evening. Do they really have to have it on that loud? Felt it was for the benefit of the staff rather than the customers. Can't say for other evenings. I love music but at that volume it was really off putting and I don't like having to shout to be heard.

Came here to meet up with my brother derek who does the hanging baskets for this public house and what a welcome we got the landlady Sam was lovely and really friendly the staff as well were fantastic the meal we had which was roast lamb was excellent I can't give this place enough stars thank you Sam for making our visit memorable

Llevé a mi novia para domingo cena hoy, visto críticas en línea, pero fuimos a ver si tenían una mesa para dos. Zona de bar estaba muy lleno, pero el personal era muy amable y nos encontró una mesa enseguida y llevamos nuestros pedidos de bebidas mientras nos decidimos por comida! Había un menú fijo para el almuerzo del domingo, dos platos por 10,95 libras que acordamos era muy razonable. Ambos tuvimos queso de cabra y Caramelised cebolla Bruschetta para empezar que era realmente excelente ... Nunca he tenido queso de cabra antes, pero esto fue preparado como recién horneados en el pan y queso Camembert era el tamaño ideal como entrante. Para las principales, tuve el asado de carne desde arriba y mi compañero cenamos asado de pollo. No esperar demasiado tiempo y cuando llegamos había un buen tamaño con una porción Yorkshire pudding, patatas asadas y puré, relleno y patacas chirivías. También nos trajo una bandeja de vegetales incluyendo brócoli, zanahorias, guisantes y col. La carne era muy buena, y así también fueron todos los BEG y número de yorkies caseros! Mi compañero no podría manejar todo de ella, así que me había terminado, el pollo es muy agradable!

Tuvimos una cena para 6, que en el mejor de los casos y se quejaban tipo era normal. El personal no parecía saber lo que estaban haciendo mi taza tenía antiguo derrame seca de café en el exterior de la taza claramente no desde mi café. Lo bueno era lento para llegar y frío. Entonces todavía beber café y que necesitan la mesa . Encontré este lugar no hay casas solariegas o ni idea de cómo correr cualquier cosa igual que el caos

I regularly travel between Scotland and Wales. When I arrive my first stop is always the Taffs Well Inn. It's based right in the heart of the village and acts as its hub.Extremely friendly pub with regulars of all ages. Both drink and food is of high quality and reasonably priced.Layout of the pub gives it a cozy feeling and generates a natural atmosphere. Staff are professional and curtious, and run a fantastic pub.Highly recommended.

My friends and I popped in for a few quiet drinks and were welcomed by very friendly staff. We hadn't planned on having food, but after spending some time in the warm and cosy but best of all the friendly atmosphere we decided to give the food a whirl.We were pleasantly surprised at the portion sizes, quality of food and most of all the cost and would sure as hell definitely recommend this pub. It is by no mistake that its known as the best pub in Taff's well and we now visit the pub regularly as we now have got to know the owners very well and what a pleasant couple the are. A real credit to the industry.

Cold welcome cold food dirty glasses and cutlery, dunno what's gone wrong, visited 3 years ago whilst visiting relatives and had a lovely meal and run by lovely friendly people, dunno if the woman behind the bar this time was the landlady but can see why she's getting negative comments!

I have to say I have lived in taffs well most of my life and I have seen people come and go into this pub and I can honestly say that the owners Sam and kris who have it now have turned it into such a popular friendly and welcoming pub. It is by far the most popular pub in the village with great food and friendly atmosphere. The Sunday lunch is homemade fresh food and delicious ,, it really is a treat to come here and made to feel special and welcomed ,, 5 star

I won't be returning to the Taffs Well Inn until it's under new ownership. The food is frankly awful, microwaved and cheap. The bar is full of leechy drunk old men, who used to frequent the Swan but refuse to drink down there because a gay couple run it. You will hear frequent racist remarks about muslims. There's no real ale. They don't take customer complaints seriously. There has been fighting in there. Shame because there's a lovely beer garden out the back and it is next to the park so it should be a nice place for families to eat and drink. The Gwaelod Y Garth Inn is the best pub in the area go there instead, it's faultless and worth the walk up the Mountain to get to.

Can't fault this pub it's really friendly ,reasonable and very nice staff . We are not from the immediate area but called in a few times always to a warm welcome. I don't understand the negative comments ,,,,bah humbug

I have been going to the pub for 27 years, and have seen many Landlords/Landladies come and go over that period. A recent experience showed that the current lady is hostile, rude and above all, very unprofessional, (can't even get the spelling right on the menu). If you want to be treated with total disrespect, then this is the place for you!

Visited on 22/12/14 and met warmly on arrival.Food priced average for this establishment. Carvery could have been a little warmer but vegetables were good and plenty of beef. Although a Monday, meat choice almost gone by 7.00 as apparently they had been very busy. One dessert arrived with cream after icecream requested but was quickly dealt with. No Lemon Meringue although shown on menu as available.Polite staff and acceptable service. We will return although room for improvement. Happy Christmas to all. Christine 658

Just had lunch here. Chilli con carne £6.25. I was presented with a children's portion of chilli. Just been to supermarket to get some sandwiches because the portion was so small. The chips were terrible; the worst I think I've had. They had been blanched sometime during the last seven days and refried. They were dark brown and very undercooked. There were 6 nachos on the plate. I would have complained but my plate was taken from the table and I wasn't asked if I had enjoyed the meal. There is obviously no customer feedback procedure in place in that case. God knows how long the chef has been producing such bad chips- they don't seem to care! If he can't cook a chip god knows what the other food is like!

We men escaped from a baby shower to have a respite drink at this Inn we found the Brains bitter OK.The non real ale drinkers took to the lager.We spent time in the lower garden & went on to discover the famous well at Taffs Well.

This was our first experience of this establishment. Received a warm friendly welcome even though they were busy. Menu is very comprehensive and very well priced. We had starters, main course and coffee. Cannot fault any part of the food of service. Would highly recommend you pay a visit.

I came here with a friend to try the new pizza menu, both had the chorizo red pepper and mushroom pizza and it was fantastic. Especially for the price of £4.95! Will definitely come back to try the other flavours.

Came here while visiting Taff's Well. Had a very pleasant lunch - steak baguette - cooked just the way I liked it. The Inn was very quiet for a midweek lunch, but it offered excellent value for money, pleasant service and good cooking,We would like to come back one weekend for Sunday lunch.

24 sat down to a pre ordered lunch of a varied menu. Food served hot and very tasty . Service excellent with friendly staff who are anxious to get things right. Perfect setting as the pub overlooks the park and Wales's. Only Thermal Spring which is open to the public free of charge .
