A welcome sight after a long walk. Pleased to find this proper village pub open when I stopped by late afternoon. Enjoyed a warm welcome and a couple of well served pints.

Poor menu. I chose the burger with chips. It was so bad I could not eat it. In fact, it was the worst burger I have ever had. McDonald's would have been better. I won't be going there again.

Dined here last week and the food was excellent, good portions and very tasty. Staff were welcoming and friendly. They adhered to the Covid19 regulations and made us feel safe. Will certainly call again and recommend the Pub to our friends

Had gammon (which was very nice) and i had what was supposed to be roasted veg lasagne (the only veggie dish on the menu), well it was possibly the worst lasagne i have ever had - it was full of chopped carrots!!! with one sheet of pasta and cheese on top. Waitress did not seem interested when i told her why i had left the lasagne, we also had to pay for the blooming thing!!! Will definitely not be going back there despite it being fairly local.

Always a very warm welcome from Don & his son Nath who run this community owned village pub. In my opinion the best pint of Guinness outside of Ireland but not the main reason for making an effort to get there. The restaurant is only open on Friday & Saturday nights but serves what might best be described as traditional honest and tasty pub grub. The menu is not huge (unlike the portions) but still has plenty of home cooked choices including Nath’s delicious home made pies, lasagne and a weekly special all accompanied by plenty of hand cut home made chips. The feast doesn’t have to end there as the dessert menu usually includes a selection of home made puds. Enjoy!

My wife and I were looking forward to lunch (we have never been here before)... we asked what was suitable for vegans? The (confused) assistant behind the counter said 'we can make you some toast with oil on it'... Wow... Is that really all Artisans has to offer vegans? I would have given no stars , but Google won't let me... UPDATE: Having seen the response from the owner (albeit 2 years later) and seeing the owners defensive and arrogant response to ANY negative reviews I definitely will not be returning... I assume there is still an absolute paucity of vegan options available? Other (far better) local cafes are available, where the management do not have such a high handed and dismissive attitude towards complaints. What happened to 'putting the customer first'? Or listening to complaints with a constructive and positive attitude? And having spoken to other locals, the food is not all that either.... and if you are unhappy with the food or service don't bother complaining as you will get short shrift. Clearly the management have taken a leaf out of the Basil Fawlty school of customer service...

This is a lovely restaurant in a gorgeous position . Beautiful views over the harbour. Popped in for coffee and cake. Ordered coffee but very little choice of cake or pastries. The visit would have been greatly improved by a smile from the servers who do little to enahnce the atmosphere .
