Great steaks and outstanding service from Jayne

I went to Bishopsgate for a couple beers and food with some friends, and had a great time. The food was delicious and the service was top notch. Highly recommend the Cheeseburger fries. Also would like to praise and highlight the service provided by Alexandra, that made our visit very pleased and made sure everything was alright.

We booked a table whilst visiting the city only to turn up and the whole place was closed and we couldn’t get through on the phone

Called in to get some food before heading to the Eagles concert in the Co-op. The server, Lexi was absolutely lovely. She was so cheerful and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. She made great suggestions food wise and we ended up having a lovely chicken salad and desserts, topped off with 2 glasses of Prosecco. Would definitely call here again Teresa and Marie Ireland 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Ordered 2 chicken curries at 6pm on a Friday night and they came back 5mins later to say they had run out of rice. How can a restaurant run out of RICE. A very poor meal. Breakfast next morning was lukewarm so not much better. JUST SEEN THIS REVIEW. NEVER BEEN TO THIS RESTAURANT.ITS OT MY REVIEW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Food was perfect, staff were welcoming and perfect, perfect all round!!

Booked for a table of 16, having just finished a day of trading over the road at Tattoo Tea Party at Manchester Central. The venue was ideal as we could walk over and leave cars parked underground at the convention car park. The venue had kindly put us all together on one long table at the far end of the restaurant in our own private little area, which was amazing. We had been bodypainting all day as an entertainment exhibition (BPEUK - check us out!) and so had bodypainted models with us and none of the staff even batted an eyelid. We went to the bar and ordered individually to keep track of who ordered what etc, and food was super fast and mostly correct. The odd mistake with drinks etc, were corrected really quickly and so cannot complain. The food was fast, flavoursome and did the trick. A few people had dessert, and all picked the chocolate tart, and sadly all of them said they wouldn't have it again, but there were other options available. Everyone allergies were checked carefully, a file provided with all the usual allergens so people could check their meals before ordering etc. And those with an allergy, got their meals before everyone else to avoid cross contamination. On the whole, a great meal. Its hard to cater for large groups, and we're really grateful for being accommodated so easily. Many thanks to all the staff.

Staying at the Premier Inn attached. Got back from the theatre with another couple at 10.15 for a nightcap. Bar staff there but bar closed? Poor as they advertise 10.30 closing time.

Went for Sunday meal during a visit to Manchester Central. Food was amazing, staff where amazing and would highly recommend to anyone visiting this area. You don't have to stay in the hotel to eat here. Will be visiting again.

Pre booked a table here on a Sunday evening 6pm in early February, Order was taken very quickly , the tables were only 1/3 full so not busy at all. Unfortunately our food did not turn up for 35 minutes, the male member of stall re ordered our food as they had lost the 'check' . The food arrived after about another 15 minutes which was quite nice but nothing special. After finishing our food we decided to order some desert but no members of staff were available to take our order so we decided to leave. When paying at the bar we did have our drinks deducted off our bill which was appreciated. Would I visit again ? Maybe, I think I just visited on a night which was disorganised or probably just under staffed. Maybe installing an electrical ordering system rather than pen and note pad to take orders.

Our train was cancelled so we called here for a meal. We had the haddock and chips which was very nice. The staff were very pleasant and the service efficient.

Been a couple of times on lunch. The two for £11 lunch is great value for money. I recommend the gammon and the chicken tikka x

Food very good for the price. We had the 2 meals for £11-49 plus starters & puddings, plus a decent bottle of wine. Served by the lovely Jayne. Nothing was too much trouble, we will return.

Our family had a lovely evening here. Charlotte was really helpful and accommodating. We had a vegetarian in our party and my partner has a really bad allergy to egg. All of which were no issue at all. The food was quick and the atmosphere was wonderful. We will definitely be visiting again soon.

Visited with my family for food and was pleasantly surprised. Great quality of food for the price and the service given was beyond all expectation. Great atmosphere with music (not too loud) and sports on the TV’s Charlotte served us and was more than polite and professional. She gave us a fantastic, friendly service and we will be returning soon due to her positive attitude and nature. Will be returning soon.

Shout out to Ryan, Dan and Charlotte! A large group of us were in Manchester for a convention (EarpfusionUK) and found this place across the street. They were AMAZING! Handled our large group of 20 with class. They were friendly, the food and drinks were fantastic! Try the orange gin and blood orange tonic! Thanks - you were greay and patient !! 😀❤️🏳️‍🌈🥃🍺

Decent bar, good beer , slightly slow service.

My wife’s salad was adjusted to her wishes and was very tasty with a lovely dressing. The service was friendly and professional, I highly recommend eating here.

It was 8:30pm, we were tired and hungry, then found this nice chilled out normal style pub in the middle of Manchester. Would come back next time, especially when you just want a normal burger!

Absolutely brilliant I love going in for a meal before going in the bridgewater hall

After an initial excellent greeting and order taking process, our order took 45mins to arrive, on a bank holiday Sunday. After seemingly a change of shift, things momentarily improved, and a lackluster burger appeared. The two staff that were on duty were sporadically good and singularly absent. Considering there is a 3 day event on at the Central convention centre across the road, a home game, and a fully booked Inn next door the rota writers should not have left too few staff overworked.

Nice dinner and dessert too. Not very busy when we went and the service was quick.

Food was bland and processed. Not very good at all. Service was friendly and polite also gave free advice about meal deals which saved money.

Stayed at the premier inn next door, had a meal here on the night we stayed and enjoyed it. Also had breakfast in here every morning, a great selection and very helpful staff.

The Bushpsgate is attached to Manchester Central Premier Inn, Lower Mosley Street. The "all you can eat cooked" breakfast for £7.99 is disappointment on plate. The whole bar and restaurant area looks tired and is in need of a deep clean or full refurbishment.

Really enjoyed our meal here. The food was very tasty and well presented and came out very quickly. The lady who looked after us was very friendly and helpful. Would recommend and come again the next time we're in Manchester

Awesome place to go before the bridgewater!

Came in for a natter after lunch. Comfy, cosy sofa corner. Shown to table, cleaned for us as someone left. Had hot drink, mini profiteroles and hot drink. Orange bread & butter sold out. Next to Premier Inn, lot of diners. A few dressed up.

Excellent service and good quality and polite staff

Unfortunately, we could not have bar food due to issue. No signs were just told after queuing. Had to clear own table (not an unfamiliar issue here) even though front of bar was very quiet. It was a nice atmosphere (warm and cosy) furniture a bit dirty but cloth chairs and sticky tables but not unexpected in high turn over pub/resturant.

Good food, awful service. Tables are not cleaned for ages… although asked several times. Waiters and manager could not care less. At least rations are generous and not bad.

Went for a meal here before a theatre show at the Bridgewater, it took nearly an hour for the food to be served and it was not great- avoid if possible

After going to great lengths to have a Christmas meal after a trip to the theatre what happen at Bishopsgate can only describe as farcical and thats being very kind. After be shown to our table by a member of staff she announced that one important part of meal ie the turkey was unavailable. After thinking about we decided to leave but not before making a very strong complaint to the management. Who did sort of try and sort things out but was more interested in tell off the staff in full view of everyone. Least we got a free drink. Seriously don't touch this place if its the last place on earth. There is a time and a place to tell staff off but not in full view of customers. I am only giving 1 star because I can't give anything lower.

Very reasonable prices for very good food.

Went here after visiting Manchester art fair. The restaurant was quiet and so the staff were really attentive. The atmosphere lacked a little but possibly due to the small amount of customers.

This does not even deserve a 1 star review. If you are looking to go after graduation then keep walking an extra 5mins there is a nice Italian or a wetherspoons. We were told at 12 noon they were not serving food for at least 20mins but it clearly stays from 12pm on the menu. So we will order drinks as I dont drink I thought I would have a coffee, well 35 mins later still no coffee no one came to tell us the machine was broken either. So thought there is a costa next door so asked if they missed if we could being one from there short answer was "no" however they did serve us a decafe in a costa cup, that was a bit of a slap in the face. Still no sorry from any one as to the fact they didnt tell us the machine was broken. I get there is technical difficulties that do arise but be polite and tell your customers. The food came out after an hour of waiting and well there were items missing off the place and I'm pretty sure the gammon on the mixed grill came off the bottom of someone shoe. We were asked if we wanted any sauce. Mayonnaise please yep I'm still waiting for that. Top and bottom of it if you are happy to wrap your money around a hot turf and flush it down the toilet while being slapped in the face then yeah this is a good place to go. To the staff there it doesnt cost anything for manners and thank you for nothing. There was about 4 people that were there ordering food and we were a table of for. I dread to think what it would be like with a busy afternoon. If I could give - stars I would

Food and service were good. The pre-6PM weekdays deal was good value. Service was slow however that was more likely due to being seated in a more hidden away table. Visited several times now with great service and tasty food,

Ordered cocktails, we're not nice at all. Asked the waitress to change, point blank refused (there was barely 1 sip taken). Cancelled our food and left. Would not visit again.

A definite mixed bag. Staff, very polite, nice and helpful. Toilets, harder to find than in a Weatherspoons. The big issue was what we were charged. It's an issue that's partly my own fault, I have loud tinnitus and tend not to hear what people say. Had I known at the time I'm sure the helpful staff would have sorted it out. We ordered 2 mains from the 2 for £9.49 menu and added 2 brownies for dessert which were another £2.49 each. 2 cokes and a latte, which should have come to less than £25 altogether, but when I checked my credit card the next day, it showed over £40. Like I say, I'm sure it could have been sorted at the time, but it has left me a bit disappointed. The food was pretty good, my niece enjoyed hers. I probably wouldn't go again though.

Giles at the bar was a really great waitress, she was very thoughtful and wore a lovely dress. Food was excellent.

Four of us went for a meal after the theatre on the 21 July at 5.30 we were looked after by a young man who was pleasant and very attentive and kept checking all was well I have dietary problems as I am a Celiac and he couldn't have been more helpful which relaxed me as I get worked up eating out. We all enjoyed the food and had no complaints. We will definately go back

Ordered the jubilee gin didn't get it got gin n tonic sent it back didn't know how to make it finally got it no ice not pg tips tbag as advertised chicken curry came no naan bread asked for garlic bread instead told would have to pay extra smothered chicken is that the way it was killed overall awfully won't be going back when asked if everything OK told staff it was worse thing ever been served she laughed don't waste your money go tesco for a sandwiches at least that was.edible

Stayed at the premier Inn next door so decided to eat here for a few nights. Visiting from London. Cannot fault the food, meals were tasty and of good portion. Breakfast variety was good. However the service by the waiting staff was very slow at dinner time. Breakfast time there was always a member of staff to greet you and show you to a table. Probably to check you have paid for the breakfast and your room no. At dinner time, asked the waitress for a lemonade in a slimmer glass as a beer glass was too much to drink and she brought out on a tray a slimline tonic water bottle, so had to ask another waiter to change the drink. Don't think she quite understood what we meant. When the waitress came to bring the correct drink and glass to the table she just slammed it down did not say sorry for getting it wrong. That's really bad. Asked for ice cream with the sticky toffee and was given custard. Minor errors but Customer service is everything and what people remember. Could hear another waitress saying to other customers that the cocktails and cream soda were out of stock. Nachos were out of stock too. Two TVs showing sports channel but couldn't hear as there was music playing over head. So went to our room to watch the big match instead. Would only return for the tasty food and location but not the service.

Hidden away, next to Premier Inn. Good range of food on the menu. Bigger than what it looks like from the outside. Prices aren't Wetherspoons prices, think it was £12 for standard burger, £3+ for a coke. But food was nice and tables available.

Booked a table for early evening as we were going to the palace theatre to see hairspray. Arrived early and was greeted and led to our table by a member of staff. Unfortunately a number of food items and drinks had sold out so it was a limited menu. The food we chose was available although we couldn't have our preferred drinks. The starters and mains were both tasty and plentiful and the service was good. My only gripe was the fact that we had to wait a considerable time between ordering and receiving our starter and main course, which was probably due to staff shortages. I would go to this restaurant again in spite of this as my family did enjoy the food and ambience.

Was out with my partner and the " 2 main meals for £8.99 before 18:00 " sounds good. We ordered a starter and a couple of drinks, main meals arrived buy no starter, staff apologised and the starter arrived shortly after. The bill was wrongly charged and after apologising the issue was resolved. Can't fault the food or drink. Guy's, your food is MUCH better than Spoons, your hygiene is MUCH better than spoons, on this occasion however the service left a little to be desired. Must do better.

We had booked a table for 1 o'clock today only to find the place all locked up. I rang them and was told they had been open for breakfast until 12 but then decided to close. He said he was in the process of sending messages to customers to explain, it's 4 hours later and still no message. Very disappointed. Good job the weather was good which gave us the opportunity to find food elsewhere. Let's hope for better luck next time.
