Great Central in Manchester

Popped in for lunch, fish chips and peas twice, came with a drink too. Lovely bit of fish all well cooked and presented. Filled us right up, empty plates, delicious food, affordable prices, you can't go wrong 😋 👍👍👍 Friendly staff too, thanks guys A ☆

I didn't like my breakfast, nor I couldn't digest, and I wasn't offered brown bread. They aren't careful with intolerances. On the other hand, if you want a good latte with oat don't go there. Too expensive for the food quality.

Most of the food was nice. I got a chicken and bacon salad main meal, £9.49. I've had more food in a starter.I could count the salad leaves, I could have fit it all on one side plate. This is supposed to be a main meal, on a big plate the same size as the other main meals. I complained. They gave me a side dish with a few more salad leaves on it. Completely unsatisfactory.

Went on a week night for dinner and a brew with a friend. Staff were lovely, and the food was pleasant.

Very, very good value. Didn't eat cos wasn't hungry, but good selection of beers with many being vegan. The table service through the app was very quick and effective. No queuing!!!

Just called in for a quick snack. Ordered a wrap and a chicken burger, both with a Pepsi Max. The Pepsi, or should I the 2 glasses of ice arrived, quickly followed by the food. The burger without the chips. No one came over to ask if everything was ok, which it wasn't. Tip: Remember to customise your drink to no ice. Otherwise, you get more ice than what sunk the Titanic.

Way to loud food is awful taste like it's been sat to long and then the gravy u can lay bricks with mash taste like wall paper paste and they let the local piss heads sit in the middle of the room screaming shouting and desterbing every person in the building and the staff don't do anything about it won't be returning spent my money better else where something needs to be done but bet it won't because no body cares about the customer service in that establishment absolute joke hope this helps people stay away and find a proper family safe place

I was getting a bit bored of the breakfast so today I tried the new Fiesta Brunch on the menu and I have to say its a winner, please keep it on the menu. Poached egg, would of liked my egg runny, guacamole,pico de gallo, grilled halloumi style cheese, mushroom, salsa the combination is amazing and looking forward to it again next week. I ordered all-day breakfast and coffee and paid with my mobile phone. The waiter came to my table and gave me a cup. He was very polite. When I went to the coffee machine to pour coffee, a male customer came up to me and told me that only water was free, and everything else was not. I'm not a local, I'm from Hong Kong, what’s wrong?

This is a rather bland Spoons in a bland building. Paulicarus likes the prices. A pint and a wine for under £5. This is a high density student area so prices need to be competitive. Too many of the real ales on this visit are strong beers rather than session ales. The barman agreed and apologised. Only my second ever visit. Seems to be a one floor / one room Spoons. Toilets thus easy to find. ( Question..was this the site of The Sherwood pub?)

Weatherspoons is a great place to eat fast and cheap. The service is almost always quick, efficient and polite.

Excellent food, filthy carpets.

A cozy joint to hangout with friends. The best thing is they don't play loud music, and the reason they are able to do so is their seating arrangement. The floor space is huge, and as a result, tables are placed wide apart, saving you from overhearing chatter from neighbouring tables. Cramped up tables is the primary reason why most of the bars are forced to play music loud enough to suppress the spillage of chatter between tables.

Just been in here for the breakfast normally love a weatherspoons breakfast first time at this branch and it took 25 mins from ordering to arrive then it was stone cold 🥶 my mate went to the bar an complain tge waitress that came over was extremely rude and un professional say well what do ya want me to do about it well for 1drop ya attitude 2 replace it with a hot 1 paying enough for it not inpressed at all then had to wait a further 15 mins for a fresh one to arrive thankfully warmer but on a stone cold plate not good at all shocking service its not as though the place was mad busy either think we stick with the usual one from now on and hope theres no repeat off today

I ordered a large traditional breakfast and coffee, it was £8.50. I had to get my own coffee at a machine but you can refill it if you want, no charge. The breakfast was 2 sausages, 2 bacon, 2 eggs, 3 hash browns with beans. 1 very small solitary fried mushroom? 2 pieces of toast. No black pudding or tomatoes. It was cooked well though and I didn't have to wait for it. It was very quiet but it was early Sunday morning.

Pleasant service at the bar, unlike the unfriendly service from the app. The male server did not have a good work.attitude. The American burger was good, and the beer wasn't too bad. Quite possibly the end of the barrel.

The Gateway in Didsbury wishes it had an ounce of the charisma, uniqueness, nerve and talent that this spoons has to offer. Remains the greatest spoons in the south of Manchester.

Plenty of students the younger set and local lumpenfolk use this place...the menu is aimed at your Sun reader and food is ready qsoon after orderimg and to an acceptable standard; and priced very economically in these straitened times. It is a large room with one or two tables outside but the road is vey busy making it viable only to the embattled cigarette smoker. The gents toilets are a bit smelly but what do you expect in a large cheap and very cheery pub?

Well, it is cheap... Ate here after what must have been a very busy weekend. Pizza out of stock, fish out of stock. Eventually settled on double cheeseburger and all day brunch. Cheeseburger came with half a dozen cold, miserable chips. Complained and issue fixed quickly. Brunch OK for the price but only lukewarm. All in all it's food and drink but don't expect much except value. I like Wetherspoons but won't be rushing back to this one, sorry.

Never been in a weatherspoons before ,it was in good location around the corner from My sons new uni accommodation . I was amazed at the £1.50 coffee and free refills . We all had a meal and got a drink as part of our meal. The soup tasted home made and all the food was very good ,served quickly and with good manners from all staff,would definitely go to another weatherspoons again look out for further reviews

Good food, fresh and hot and usually pretty fast! Drinks are standard - cheap and cheerful. In a student area so can be rammed. It's a spoons that doesn't really have a lot of character, so best just for a quite bite and cheap drink.

As. A party of 6, we went for Breakfast this morning. Ordered on the app. Food came hit and very quick.

Went I bought a coffee asked if I would like food, I went to order breakfast and asked where I was sat I explained that I in the front garden with the dog in the pram. S He advised me that no dogs allowed. I explained that he was not on the floor he said no. He got the manager and she said no dogs allowed . Really bad attitude and asked me to refund the coffee before I go or put it in a cup to take away.

As a Wetherspoon building it is rather tired and dated however the food is, as always, cooked perfectly and there is plenty of seating plus friendly and thoughtful staff.

Me and my friend came into this establishment on the 23rd of November at around 9pm for a quiet after work drink my friend went to the bar and asked for two of the cheapest ciders as we know the prices of them and we knew we had enough money for these drinks, the bartender was called Angus and he poured us the incorrect ciders and as we didn’t have enough money for these drinks he was extremely rude and we was left embarrassed. His attitude was appalling and we was genuinely upset in this current climate and the cost of living crisis coming up I find it rude to comment and embarrass someone over money we did speak to a manager on shift and she was absolutely lovely and reassured us about the situation

A great pub in fallowfield which I frequently visit after my evening shift. I purchase copious amounts of Stella Artois (£3.19) until I can just about stumble for the last bus. I usually join a few regulars and we play on the fruit machines and ignore the chap with mental health issues staring wildly at every one in his vicinity. The staff are rushed of their feet but generally friendly and enthusiastic about their work. Heather is always polite and professional. The steaks are delicious and the manager is always helping out on the floor collecting glasses and plates. I shall continue to frequent the establishment as it’s cheap and the female staff are easy on the eye.

Its always a good place for cheap average food. As my family would say its cheap and cheerful, full English breakfast is good for cheap price!

Found you can order the specials on different days of the week so I had the tikka masala and my husband had sirloin steak.

Living local, I used to love coming here! But, the food waiting on staff are very rude and disgruntled. On my last visit in August, I asked when was the best time to come for a steak as on my recent visits they had apparently sold out as today and it was only 1pm? The girls face was fuming that I’d stopped her when she was rushing off and said “it depends what the day is like” and rushed off. When delivery our food there was no cheese on my cheeseburger... I explained I asked for a cheeseburger and she rolled her eyes and said she’d get the cheese. She returned with a craft cheese slice on a side plate. I didn’t like how she made me feel for ‘bothering her.’ Met my niece there 2 days later and was served by a different girl but, with a similar attitude. The food had been mixed up and she was clearly annoyed about having to take 1 back... I was dreading her coming back with it. I went to the toilet and could here them discussing it in the kitchen.You feel uncomfortable eating your meal after that. I seen later a woman speaking with the manager about the shoddy service and he barred her! Apparently he’d had enough of her and her company she brought in over recent days... her claim was because she’d also then been vocal about the service. On a plus note Since then, I’ve come for breakfast once and was served by a nice friendly guy. The bar staff have always seem nice too.

The variation between J.D. Wetherspoon pubs is generally small and although this is similar in so many ways - good value, large menu etc., the staff tend to let this one down. I find them to be disinterested, often slow to serve and sometimes even surly. It's also incredibly busy on weekends and the staff don't do much to manage capacity.
