Went in looking for a great cafe that would do decent homecooked food at a reasonable price and Taberna hit the mark in every way. Matthew served me and was really informative passionate about the business and very welcoming and friendly. Whilst I was there I heard another set of first time customer prasing the service and food they got. I went for their Steak Sandwedge and can honestly say it is by far the best I have had let alone available in Ipswich as was the custard tart. I will be going back regularly based on my first experience and couldn't recommend them more!

In hospital, I hadn't eaten for 10 days when a Portuguese nurse from Porto told me about a francesinha. I tried to track one down in London but with no success. Imagine my surprise to find one so close to home. And it was well worth the trip from Cambridge. Delicious but just as well I had only had breakfast - so filling. Authentically Portuguese. Excellent value for money. Helpful and very friendly owner in a small cafe with a little back room. I will go back.

After a long work day we were just passing by this cafe and decided to get in just for a quick meal. We ended having the most tasting francesinha ever. That's a traditional Portuguese beef sandwich with a wonderful sauce. Marcio was a very good food adviser and we become regular customers. Keep going the good service and food range.

This small place has amazing good, great prices and all staff is as kind as friendly. This is, indeed, one of the better places to eat in town!

Run by a really nice chap. Makes genuine Portuguese snacks, the fish cakes are delicious. I normally have an Americano which is one of the best I’ve tried. You are also able to sit outside and watch the world go by.

I popped in to this coffee shop for a snack and a coffee and was not disappointed, their coffee was so good and I also had a ham and cheese toastie, which was made on Portuguese bread, really light and fresh tasting, thoroughly enjoyed my time here. Extremely helpful and polite staff, beautifully decorated, it's a lot bigger than it looks on the outside and they also have a lovely little area outside for warmer weather. I recommend this little gem!

Força Portugal! Authentic coffee shop, 4 people's coffees and toast/croissant for £11. Lots of traditional Portuguese pastries and drinks. I would return if in Ipswich.

This use to be a brilliant Turkish restaurant, we always felt it was the best and most authentic in town, but now it is anything but. Upon arrival it felt different, not so welcoming. We were a part of four, there was another party of eight, but they were finishing when we arrived. The menu did not appear to be a full as it use to be. Prices had been altered by sticking bits of paper on the menu rather than printing off new ones. We waited for about 30 minutes before we were asked for our drinks order, then another 15 for the drinks to arrive. The menu had EFS beer on draugh, but we were told that the menu was wrong and they don't do that any more, only in bottles. We ordered EFS in bottles, but after some time the waiter came back and said they didn't have any so we ended up with Becks. We opted for a cold and hot mezze to be shared between the four of us, but the hot mezze missed and ingredient that then had to be cooked separately and arrived after we'd finished the starter. The main courses were OK, not great and some food was left because it just wasn't good enough such as the side tomato salad on the plate. I had lamb chops, they were skinny and dry and not worth £18.50 (sticky label price increase) for 4. At about 8.30 the heating came on, the radiator next to us got hot. This was during an extremely hot spell of weather with temperatures in the 30's outside. The car payment machine was not working, so we had to dig around amongst us to find cash. Even the bill was amateurist, written on a scape of paper and present in a wooden box with a broken hinge. Throughout our meal we were annoyed by loud music from a function upstairs, sounded like a disco. All-in-all we were unhappy with our experience and will not be going back.

A group of 13 women had a Pensioner’s Lunch here which was two courses for £14.95. There was a large choice of dishes, the food didn’t take long to come out and the young waiters were very obliging. We were in a lovely room with Wedgwood Blue walls. Incidentally, the chips were some of the best I have ever tasted!

More drugs than a Colombian speedboat. This place is dirty. Weeds everywhere, dirty bathrooms apart from the top of the cistern that gets sniffed clean every 5 minutes. Awful, awful place and worse customers. This is an absolute den of filth.
