Sylvia's Corner in City of London, Westminster

Vine aquí para el desayuno de haber estado localmente la noche. La descripción utilizada ganador Michael "histórico" en vez mucho, pero creo que es una palabra bien merecida para el desayuno aquí. El personal es encantador y amable. El café llegó rápidamente, y excelente. Yo tenía el desayuno estándar con la adición de morcilla y croquetas de patata. Llego bien presentado y muy bien cocinado. La morcilla fue, sin lugar a dudas, el mejor que he comido al sur de la brecha de Watford y todos los ingredientes en el plato eran de alta calidad. Comer este desayuno es algo que estaría muy contento de distraer la atención de mi ruta para hacer, y por algunas distancia considerable. La factura, con un taza de café llegó a 14 libras, que puede parecer un poco alto, pero en realidad fue muy buena relación calidad-precio.

Este es un lugar relativamente pequeño para lo lleno que cuando estábamos allí, pero la comida y el servicio nunca falló. Hay una amplia variedad de opciones vegetarianas (no recuerdo si hay opciones veganas pero si lo pides, estoy seguro lo harán). Los zumos estaban fresca y encantadora, el único inconveniente era que sólo aceptan dinero en efectivo (aunque hay varios cajeros automáticos cerca)

We had breakfast here and were pleasantly surprised with the great breakfast choices. I had the power breakfast with advocado on rye with houlimy. Great choice. The juices were also pretty impressive, lots of ginger though.

I've been to Sylvia's for a brunch with a friend. We had to.reach the city center then, and it was perfect since the place is only 5 min walk from the train. Small but cozy place, nice menu for any time in the day, very nice staff, maybe only too much in a rush, but it might only be London :)

Great place in Limehouse /Commercial Road zone to have a classic english breakfast. We went twice in two days. Nice atmosphere, great juice and coffee and tasty food. 👏👏

Brilliant place for organising and resisting

Auf der Suche nach einem kleinen Frühstück, sind wir hier hängen geblieben. Es war sehr gut und hat uns allen gefallen, ob klassisch oder british - Frühstück war sehr gut.

Nice staff and good value for money. The place is cosy and the ambience is really nice. Judging by how drinks and food are served, one can see that great care is taken by the staff to ensure the best customer experience. Will definitely come back!!

This time I came in afternoon and I tried their burgers. Mine was halloumi my gf had cheeseburger. Size is very good and very tasty. Two burgers and two coke, bills was less than 20. It worth!

Very good breakfast options which are clean and enjoyable to eat.Free off street parking sat and sun.Very small place which is busy so may need to wait for a table.Quality and portions of tea and coffee needs to improve in par with food. At the moment not satisfied with taste for a cafe.Priced are quite steep in comparison to normal English fry up

Lovely little local café offering freshly made meals with a modern twist on your usual greasy spoons in the area, quality produce and friendly staff. The café space is restricted so come early to avoid disappointment. I love the eggs benedict and the fresh milkshakes/smoothies. Have not ever heard one single negative comment about Sylvia's

We had the most amazing breakfast in Sylvia's Corner. It did not just have the most calm and relaxing atmosphere but also the breakfast itself was amazing. I could have not imagined anything more typical British (at least like I imagine it) for a breakfast than there. And the size of the portion was even for a good eater more than you can eat. All in all just a fantastic experience. Thanks guys!

Looking for a good place for breakfast and gave it a try. The food was absolutely excellent and came very quickly. Fresh squeezed juice made to order and good portion sizes. Great range on the menu means you don't just have to go for the same every time and the menu is well labelled for allergy advice. Would go again if ever in the area. A great find.

Went here for Sunday Breakfast on the strength of it's reviews and wasn't disappointed, so much so that we went back for another one on Monday

Lovely cafe with amazing breakfast and coffee. It's hard to find places in London that are good value and staff are amazing but this is one definitely tick all the boxes. Worth a visit if you are in the area

I just keep going back to Sylvia's Corner. The Decor is magnificent, the Staff are just WONDERFUL, and the food is DELICIOUS. One of my absolutely TOP places to eat with the most delightful staff, who have been so sweet with me since my first of many visits. One of the most recommendable eateries in London.

We visited the place a couple of times. It is good value for money place. When we went in group of 5 we were asked to wait for the table however new people coming in got the table before us. As staff said they cannot keep table for us. We walked out.

The food was very good, which made us return a number of times during our stay in London (close by). Coffee and chai was also very good quality, with nice barista coffee designs in your cup if you ask nicely :)

We love this cafe and has now become our 'local' go to place for brunch, lunch or even an early dinner. Great menu, friendly staff and always consistently great food at very reasonable prices.

This is a fabulous place to go to. The coffee is excellent and there is an extensive menu for breakfast lunch and tea. It recently became licensed too. The staff are incredibly friendly and there is lovely feel about the place. Very popular at weekends so get there early - you won't be disappointed!

As an occasional week-end treat, we have breakfast in this small but very friendly, cosy little place. Be prepared for some yummy breakfast and nice (freshly made) juices. They do lunch and dinner too.

Regular customer here working my way through the entire menu - everything is delicious, fresh juices, fresh coffee and extremely good value! The staff are very commited and Sylvia herself is there most days getting stuck in. 10/10 would reccomend, would find it hard to move out of the area because of this place!

Went with my girlfriend at around 11am. Were seated quickly, came back at the right time after we weren't quite ready to order and were happy to swap fried eggs for scrambled on the standard breakfast. The tea arrived quickly in a neat teapot and the food wasn't far behind it. I had the breakfast feast and it was superb. A big portion but very manageable if you're hungry. Would definitely go back, and the price wasn't too bad for London and certainly worthwhile.

Im living close to that coffee shop , so im a regular customer.Their coffee is really good and the breakfast..amazing!im usually having the vegetarian feast and everything is really tasty! The stuff is always kind nomatter if they are crazy busy or not! I totally recomment it!

The place is nice and the food decent enough. I just find it absurd that in this time and age a place in central London would only take cash payment. On top of that the person taking the payment had a very obnoxious attitude when we were rather surprised that they wouldn't take credit cards.

Perfetto per un brunch, ci sono stata giusto quando era troppo tardi per fare colazione ma troppo presto per pranzare! Grande scelta dei piatti, ottimi smoothies, prezzi un po' alti per quello che presentano ma buonissimi! Il posto è piccolo e carino, un po' in stile anni '80, hanno una sala al piano sottostante con tavoli più grossi per tavolate più importanti

Wow, what a breakfast. We were led to Sylvia's by Trip Advisor Reviews and were not disappointed. The smell of fresh coffee wafted into the street in stark contrast to Commercial Road smells. The staff were attentive and friendly. Fresh coffee came very quickly whilst we perused the exciting and extensive breakfast menu. I opted for the Posh Sausage Sandwich which was two Cumberland sausages on rye bread with Portobello mushrooms, caramelised onions, rocket and CHIPS. The latter being very naughty but equally very nice. My wife in sharp contrast, had the Bikini-Friendly, We both finished every scrap and had extra coffees and Freshly Squeezed Orange Juice. Total Bill for the two of us including a tip was £ 30 I would make a detour to eat here again. N.B. CASH ONLY - NO CARDS

Nice corner cafe on a changing Commercial Road. Bit quirky with nice coffee and decor. I had English breakfast which was very nice and interestingly the baked beans came in a small bowl. Says a lot. Can't complain though as all very well done and pleasant efficient service.

Restaurant liegt nahe am Hotel daher sind wir hier zum Abendessen hergegangen- sehr gute Entscheidung. Knackiger frischer Salat, gute Burger. Hätte man von aussen so nicht gedacht....War eine unserer besserer Ideen

Fairly pricey menu but the breakfast dishes were excellent and the portions were big. The cafe is a lovely setting and the staff were very attentive. I would recommend the eggs benedict and fresh orange juice! Would go again.

I went to London over the bank holiday and I have to say this was our most favourite place to eat. The food was excellent. The venue is clean, calm and very well laid out. Small but very efficient, me and most of of friends who I went with have said the old was exceptional. Great menu. And the banana smoothie was fab. Highly recommend if your round the lime house station.Egg benidcit was outstanding.

Quality is great, not your average coffee food place. Fresh food. You know when a place is good when there salads are filling and substantial and taste good! Chicken wasn't dry whatsoever. One of those places when you return you want to try a new option every time! Nice relaxing place although speed of food service is slow and needs to improve customer service but if you have the time its lovely.

My daughter and I are both terrible coffee snobs, and we both love their coffee. Breakfasts are tasty and filling, I've not eaten other meals there ... yet. The staff are lovely. A pleasant surprise all round!

Me and my husband go to Sylvia's every week. Their breakfast and lunch menu are both amazing. The staff is very very nice. I love their Bikini-friendly breakfast and London fog tea. Definitely recommended.

I have been visiting this place since they opened. Lovely food and reasonable prices. Only thing that could improve is service. Some new members of staff seem to be lacking basic customer service skills.

I had egg's royale, with sauté spinach. It was garlicky, delicious and mega cheap. Really close to the station, the basin and Stepney city farm.

The ladies at the bar are very friendly, always smiling and serving the best breakfast(s) I had. Very large range of different foods, and FRESH juices.The pictures they have on the wall, will make everyone laugh as they are funny, but reflecting the real life!

I was there yesterday with a work colleague on a working lunch. We first ordered fruit juices and cakes, but I wanted a sandwich. After seeing the two waitresses befriend and assist other customers, ask if there was anything else they needed, take away dirty plates and cups, my colleague and I couldn't figure out why we had been left out. So I didn't order my chicken wrap! My Colleagues dirty plate was only taken up 2.5 hours after we got it and 45 minutes after she left. Very poor service!

Excellent food and service. My only slight disappointment was that they do not take card payments. However it does not take away the fact that the food was amazing and customer service amazing. Great great food

We leave just 5 minute walk away and consider ourselves extremely fortunate that we do. Sylvia's breakfasts are fantastic. I especially enjoy the Vegetarian Feast with poached eggs and my wife 'Bikini Friendly' though its all good. Over the past few years it has seemingly appeared in a few tourist guides as we have noticed a steady trade of foreign visitors staying in the local hotels but if you chose the right time (avoid weekend 12-2) you can generally find a nice spot without any wait. The owners got married last year so we hope this will extend even further their stay in the area.

Op zaterdagochtend hier ontbeten. Het is een beetje uit de stad, maar prima bereikbaar en lekker rustig. Het ontbijt was erg lekker en personeel vriendelijk. Zou hier graag nog een keer terug gaan.

On a pris un petit déjeuner simple mais très bon. Les serveuses étaient très agréables. Les prix sont normaux. On y retournera! Merci!

Sylvias is a local gem, we often meet our friends here for brunch and the food is superb!! They offer a great range of wraps, pasta dishes, etc.The only reason for four star is that they are victims of their own success, they need more seating (but please dont move somewhere else!!)

Our family eat here most weekends. We normally go for breakfast and the full English is amazing. My daughter adores the pancakes with banana and Nutella whilst even smaller dishes such as egg on toast are all presented and cooked beautifully. The coffee, freshly squeezed orange juice and milkshakes are all lovely and served fresh.This is not a cheap cafe and there are cheaper places but we find it well worth it.

We popped into Sylvia's early one evening for a bite to eat before going to a gig at the Troxy across the road.There was plenty of choice on the menu, in fact it was hard to decide what to have but we opted for the breaded halloumi. It was served pretty quickly and was delicious as well as great value for money.The only downside is that they don't take card payments, not a major issue as there is a sainsbury's cashpoint across the road (although the road is bit of a nightmare to cross).If we find ourselves in the Limehouse area again we will definitely be popping back to Sylvia's.

Sylvia's Corner is a quaint little restaurant on the main road not far from Limehouse DLR. We decided to give it a try on our way to church. My husband and I both ordered a coffee, which was delicious. My husband ordered a crepe which he enjoyed. I ordered the scrambled eggs with Turkey bacon, avocado, spinach salad....the salad did not have any olive oil on it, it was a bit dry, however, everything else was fine. All in all, a nice breakfast experience. We will come back.

I keep going back to Sylvie's Corner. I have been several times as I live in the area and this is the only place I repeatedly visit. I always get a table although the place always has several customers, and the service is efficient. The latte's are lovely, and the food is delicious. I really recommend this place for a nice experience. The food always arrives very promptly too!

We had breakfast at Sylvia's twice. The orange juice was fresh, the coffee well brewed. The service was really friendly and the food came quickly. The food we had - crepes, eggs florentine, museli - was all tasty. Great place to if one is in the neighbourhood.

We stumbled by this restaurant by accident. The food was good and the price was low for London. The three of us all found something different on the menu to satisy our craving - pasta, fish & chips and a sandwich. It was very laid back and we were not rushed at all. I think they would have probably let us sit there all night if we had wanted to. I rated it as very good as we had a descent dinner for a fair price (for London).

I know the history of this place Syliva and her partner were working as staff in its previous guise. They ran it so well that she basically took it over and bought the owner out. The upshot is over the last 3 years the cafe has improved in leaps and bounds. My only regret now is that it is sometimes too crowded for me to get in

Solid food. Typical diner fare. Non frills at a good price for London. Lots of locals. Not overrun by trendy urban brunchers so it was easy to get a seat.

Love the eggs florentine, coffee and the milkshakes. My wife loves the penne arrabiata and the banana choclate crepe. We have been there usually around weekends. The area looks a bit off.

We stayed locally and really enjoyed the good service as well as excellent coffee and breakfasts at Sylvia's. Didn't eat any other meals there. Would definitely recommend Sylvia's.

Although small, this coffee shop/restaurant has an extensive menu choice for both eating in or taking out. The space available for eating in may be limited, but the quality of the food and the way it is served were both excellent. Recommended if you're staying at St Katherine's (see other reviews) as it's within a 5 minute walk.

I was at a training course and could not find a decent place for lunch. I then staggered across Sylvia's and ordered the breaded halloumi sandwich. Honestly, it was amazing. I've not tasted a better sandwich.

Sat straight down served quickly! Great coffee, came quickly. Good old english breakfast came extremely quickly to the table. Only critic would be more fresh/organic bacon, beans and chips. Great sausage!

Agree with the previous reviewer - a really nice addition to Commercial Road's chicken/kebab shops.I've made two recent trips to Sylvia's and have been very impressed. The staff are friendly, the brunch menu is pretty comprehensive and tasty, and it's fairly reasonably priced.
