It was for our anniversary dinner and I wanted to try a new steakhouse in London. After we had fun in one of the escape rooms, we worked up our appetite. I found Goodman on Google Map. I made a reservation for dinner the same day. So I thought! Turns out the reservation showed the following available day for the restaurant and it was 2 days later. After our session with the escape room we were a bit late. I called the restaurant to let them know. The lady who answered the phone could not find my reservation at first. After a little digging she told me it was made for 2 days later. I asked her if they had a table for us in 15 minutes. She said they were fully booked. I told her it was for our anniversary. She put me on hold for a short while to talk to her manager. It was a very long “short while” for me. She said she managed to get me a table. I was so grateful! She save my day.. once we were in restaurant we really liked the atmosphere waiters were very polite and explaining the cuts. The cocktails we had were really good. I had spiced rum old fashioned and my wife had apple martini. As for the steaks my son had wagyu, I had USDA ribeye and my wife had fillet. On the side, we had a salad and chips. I liked the peppercorn sauce beter than the stilton sauce. They were very tasty. At the end we had raspberry desert and an anniversary dessert plate from the house. We all had a great time! We’ll definitely recommend Goodman and we’ll be back. Thank you

Visited Goodman Mayfair for my birthday. Unfortunately wasn't what i was expecting. Whilst the food was excellent (5*) the service was really poor. From the waiter not understanding the allergy list and giving negligent advice, to food just being dumped on our table without the waiter even looking at us or acknowledging us in any way, it was really sub par. Having worked in hospitality the idea that you can produce 5* food and then not meet basic service levels is quite shocking as the hard bit was done! Real shame as this could be a 5* restaurant.

There were large coal particles in the food and I nearly broke my tooth. No one even seriously apologized for this dangerous situation. This is a place I love and I am very upset about this situation.

Lunch at Goodmans is one of the few reliable things in our fast changing times. The food, especially the steaks, will be meltingly delicious, the wine etc. list extensive, the welcome warm, service friendly and the atmosphere designed to ensure you enjoy your meal. Plus it's very good value and well worth a visit! KD

Incredible food and service. The steak was insanely delicious, we shared Australian Sirloin and Chateaubriand with lots of lovely sides. The red wine was also perfect! The waitress we had was excellent - explained all the cuts of meat, made helpful suggestions and was attentive throughout our visit. The only thing for feedback is to make the interior brighter as it's quite dark, and perhaps some more options for dessert that are more traditional / chocolate based. But honestly everything was so good!

A friend had chosen Goodman for a birthday dinner after wanting a steakhouse. Once we entered, everyone was accommodating and made sure we knew what we would be ordering. It was pretty cool when they brought out a platter to visually explain the different cuts they had. We had ordered the chateaubriand, creamed spinach, the stilton mashed potatoes and the macaroni and cheese. Everything was delicious. While the steak was cooked just as we wanted and was very good, the side dishes definitely stood out. My husband and I discussed that of many of the steakhouses that we had been to, this places side dishes were top notch. Everything was quite creamy and the flavours were perfectly balanced. Again, everyone there was so nice, and the birthday boy got a nice song and a little extra dessert and the end. They were also super accommodating for my child, making the macaroni a little more child friendly but still equally as delicious. After this experience, we will be adding Goodman to our favourite steakhouses to visit again when craving steak, or honestly, even just the side dishes.

Excellent meat place. Dinner for 5, we had the 400g fillet which was perfect and a ribeye ,also great and fill with flavor. Sides were excellent, especially the Stilton mash and the truffle fries. The atmosphere is somewhat noisy, prices are rather high.

Hands down, Goodmans is the best for steak in London...period. I have been to a lot of places, they are by far the number 1 steakhouse around. The customer service is excellent and the quality of the food is just unbelievable. Definitely in my top five restaurants!

Wow amazing. Served by Dominica, he was so helpful from the start. Great guy, suggesting the steaks and how much food to have. Rather than accepting our order just to make money, he suggested how many sides etc. what a delight to have someone like him. The steaks were amazing. Fillet at its best. Given steak knives to eat with, could have blown the steak apart. Great flavour. Amazing sides, great size and flavour. Loved the triple cooked chips and mac and cheese. This is hands down the best steak restaurant I have been to. The staff are so knowledgeable about all of the different cuts and are always friendly and professional. I usually get the fillet steak and would recommend! They also have a board that you are able to order from which my husband has done and he really enjoyed what he chose.

Everything was quiet fine, I've just reduced mark for the price, it's a little bit overpriced but maybe it completely depends on the type of restaurant. I rather to choose this kind of restaurant once a year and that's because of my budget :)

Our group of four visited the restaurant and ordered the New York strip, Australian sirloin, ribeye, and fillet. The steaks were tasty and well-cooked. The staff were friendly, and the quiet, calm atmosphere made the experience enjoyable. I also recommend the mushroom side dish—it was amazing. The wine I ordered was cheap and decent. The Béarnaise sauce was also delicious.

Three of us had lunch here last Thursday. Friendly, attentive service. We all ordered the fillet (I chose peppercorn sauce) with mushrooms, spinach and broccoli. Delicious Malbec to go with it. Passion fruit sorbet for dessert was also delicious. Will return.

My partner and I often come to Goodman now and then, as we really enjoy the food here. We recently returned to celebrate his 25th birthday and ordered a few dishes. One of them, a chicken ordered by his aunt, wasn’t to her liking and had to be sent back, but I was genuinely impressed with how professionally and kindly the staff handled the situation. She ended up getting a burger instead. The starters…Wow. We always get the prawn tempura as our starter because it is just that good. I honestly think Goodman’s tempuras are the best we’ve tried so far. We also got the Puglian burrata. It had such a great creamy/milky taste to it, and mixed with the peppers, it was amazing. Our waitress was absolutely lovely as well. She was attentive and made sure all our needs were met. As regulars, I can confidently say the steak here is fantastic, it’s always cooked exactly the way I like it. The sides are tasty too, but the steak is definitely the star of the show.

Just had the most amazing lunch here Everything perfect. Had the oysters, prawns and scallops to start. Beef tartare was brought as mistake but they said to keep it. All tasted amazing. Then had the 1kg bone in ribye, creamed spinach, truffle chips, mushrooms and mac and cheese. Amazing again. Drinks and services all perfect. 1st time here. Won't be our last

If you want to have the best Steak in London then look no further. I had a Wagyu Rib-Eye and my friend had a sirloin - we shared and both were absolutley WOWZERS! I will definitely be back. I also had the crab toast, which was 'lick the plate' delicious and my friend had the prawn tempura - I did have a taste of that and loved it - wish we had more space in our tummys for more of this amazing food. All the staff were just simply brilliant, fabulously attentive and friendly. One of my new favorite places to eat in London!!!!! Oh and dont forget the yummiest Truffle and Parmesan Chips, I felt like I was in heaven.

The most overrated and blandest steak. I’m so shocked that this place is compared to Hawksmoor - what an insult! Even flat iron is 10x better.

The steaks were perfectly prepared: Waygu, chateaux briand, bone in rib eye. Very nice! Mushrooms, green salad, and spinach were very tasty. We especially enjoyed the Chateau Valentines 2018. The only negative was the bathroom (not well attended) I would recommend a visit 😊

Goodman is, without a doubt, one of the best restaurants I’ve ever been to here in London, specializing in top-quality meats. I absolutely love this place, and whenever I can, I visit with my husband. I’ve recommended it to several friends, and everyone has been super impressed! The service is impeccable, the steaks are incredibly juicy, and the sides are simply perfect – the mashed potatoes, in particular, are amazing. The cocktails are fantastic, and the desserts… oh, they’re divine! The crème brûlée is my absolute favorite. I couldn’t recommend this restaurant enough!

Massively overpriced and overrated. Very poor meat and rude staff made for a very disappointing evening out. Goodmans used to be a real treat but my last two visits have been a huge let down. Avoid!

Grandes filetes, mi cliente tenía la costilla de la casa - ojo después de que me dijeron que el Wagu no estaba disponible, yo tenía el solomillo australiano y ambos eran excelentes. Por los precios que cobran, parece un poco petulante para luego cobrar £ 2 adicionales. 50 por filete para una salsa, sin embargo, ambos tuvimos la salsa Stilton y fue increíble! We just came out of the restaurant and had to write this review asap. This was such an amazing place and would 100% return again. The service was amazing from start to finish and the food was fantastic. One of the best steaks we have had in a long time, and the steak tartare is highly recommended. Can’t wait to return again. We also had to sit at the bar as we didn’t make a reservation and it was full, but it was very comfortable and the staff were highly attentive , and they truly value customer service and experience all around.

Excellent streak, however expected a more intimate atmosphere. The tables are close to each other (there is lots of seatings), and the place is very busy. The waitresses wasn’t too keen to recommend us any particular cut.

Steak (USD) ribeye bueno aunque v caro - y para cobrar un extra de £ 2. 50 para una gota o dos de salsa es bastante ofensivo / estafar. Acompañantes buenos / sabrosos y tamaños de porción aceptables. Me gusta este restaurante y volver como buena ubicación, buen ambiente / ambiente cómodo, gran servicio - aunque ahora creo que simplemente empujar los precios demasiado lejos.

Good burger, excellent smoky flavor, make sure you order medium. The Goodman burger. Only thick cut chips, would be good to have thin chips too. Service was patchy, we ordered 2 burgers, only one arrived. After that as well, service was sloppy and rushed. Also there's no good side salad for there burger, just a very simple Caesar.

The Classic steakhouse in London. First time going and I was very impressed. This is a traditional establishment which champions quality above all else, Service was first rate, very accommodating, chatty, warm and welcoming. We had a dry aged shorthorn bone in Sirloin and it was absolute perfection. The selection of steaks from different cattle breeds was something I had not seen before and I can't wait to try a belted Gallway or a black Angus next time. Sauces were well made and very generous, served in very well used gravy boats, sides were limited in scope compared to other similar establishments but expertly done. Can't fault them. Our starter of tempura prawns was also generous and expertly cooked. Both Cocktails we sampled were also on point. Would highly recommend and definitely go again.

A great restaurant. It wasn't our first choice to eat there on New Year's Day, but it was well worth it. The service was great, our jackets were taken to hang up at the table. The service explained to us directly what meat looked like, etc. The service was very attentive. After we pointed out that something about the meat wasn't what we wanted, they were very accommodating to us. The meat tasted very good, as did the side dishes (potatoes and mac and cheese). In the end the visit was very worth it, great Aperol Spritz (you don't find that often) and a very good wine selection.

I visited Goodman Restaurant on Maddox Street yesterday for dinner with my wife and some friends. While enjoying our meal, an unfortunate incident occurred—a lady at the table beside us accidentally knocked over a glass of red wine from our table with her handbag, spilling it all over my wife. She offered a brief apology, but that was it, despite the obvious mess on my wife's clothes. What truly stood out was how the restaurant staff handled the situation. The team immediately stepped in to assist, helping my wife clean her sweater. The manager also came over, genuinely apologizing even though it wasn’t the restaurant’s fault. They thoughtfully offered my wife another glass of wine to replace the one that was spilled (we refused...). Later, the manager returned, again apologizing, and provided their contact information to arrange reimbursement for the cleaning costs of her clothing (we politely declined again...). On top of that, when they bring the bill, they kindly offered a discount on the £100 bottle of wine we had ordered. I was genuinely impressed—not just with the gesture of a discount, but with the level of professionalism and care shown by the staff throughout the evening. I’ve dined at Goodman several times because it’s one of London’s top destinations for a perfectly cooked steak, and this visit reaffirmed why it remains a favorite. The food, as always, was 5-star, but this time, the service truly stole the show. The staff and management went above and beyond to ensure we felt taken care of, turning what could have been a frustrating moment into an example of exceptional customer service. Highly recommend Goodman not just for their incredible steaks but for their outstanding service. Thank you for making a lasting impression once again!

We had a really a lovely dinner, the waiter who served us was so welcoming and nice! My parents don’t speak english and he still went out of his way to make them feel involved when choosing a steak. Very great atmosphere and the food was amazing! Really lovely service and atmosphere

We sat at the table in the front area and the Spanish waiter was excellent. There was a small misunderstanding, and honestly, the team went above and beyond to make the evening memorable. I really mean, above-and-beyond! They put the service of other restaurants to shame. The ribeye and all sides were exceptional and portions were generous. Out of all the steakhouses around London, this one should be on top of your list.

Our group of five—four adults and a teen—dined at Goodman Mayfair last night to celebrate a birthday, and while the evening started with a few small hiccups, it ended on a memorable note thanks to the exceptional food and thoughtful service. We had an early dinner reservation at 6:45pm, and upon arrival, the restaurant was relatively quiet, with a handful of diners. However, by the time we left at 9:45pm, it was absolutely buzzing—a fantastic atmosphere for a celebratory evening. We were initially seated at a rectangular table, though I’d hoped for a round table (perfect for chatting and seeing everyone during a birthday celebration). Amani, the manager, explained that the round table was needed for a larger party. While this felt slightly disappointing, it turned out to be a non-issue—Amani later came to our table and graciously moved us when the other party cancelled. It was a small gesture that made a big difference to our evening. Thank you, Amani! Our server, Saffron, introduced “The Cut” – their specials board, showcasing steaks selected daily at their peak. While her explanation was a bit difficult to hear due to the background music, she was attentive and knowledgeable when we asked questions. We ordered fillet steaks for the whole table, along with a selection of sides, wine and cocktails. The food? Outstanding. The steaks were beautifully cooked (the stilton gravy deserves a special mention—it’s heavenly!), and the sides were absolutely mouth-watering. Unfortunately, one steak, ordered medium, arrived slightly undercooked and had to be sent back. While the staff handled it politely and efficiently, it did mean that one member of our group was left waiting while the rest of us tucked in. The wine service was also slightly bumpy—the first choice wasn’t available—but the alternative “orange” white wine we selected turned out to be excellent, so no complaints there. The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the food itself, coupled with the wonderful atmosphere as the restaurant filled up. We also loved the quirky touch of the “100 Club”—a cabinet full of knives with regular diners’ names engraved on them. Only 99 more visits to go! To top it off, the birthday celebration was rounded out with a surprise cake and candle, which the restaurant very kindly took off the bill—such a thoughtful gesture. Overall, Goodman Mayfair delivers delicious food with friendly, professional service in a warm and lively setting. Yes, it’s on the pricier side, but it’s worth it for a truly special occasion. A little less pretension and a touch more attentiveness at the start would make this a perfect 10, but by the end of the night, we walked out happy, full, and lighter in the wallet—exactly what you expect from a top steakhouse experience. ;0) Highly recommended.

Cant say how many times we have been to Goodman Mayfair but its a lot!!! We love the steaks, the service, the atmosphere and the absolute quality of food that they always deliver. This last visit was brilliant fun as we started off in the bar area and had Popcorn Manhattan cocktails. we also got to sample the delightful stilton stuffed olives after we cheekily asked what they were. Next time we will try the Martini that has them as a signature. We aren't 100% certain but we think it was Saffron who served us that evening, she was enthusiastic and knowledgeable on the menu and made our evening pure class. Thankyou

We thought lunch was exceptional. The steaks and wine were excellent, but the service couldn’t have been better. The staff went out of their way to make us and my young niece, who is jet lagged, feel welcome and occupied. I can’t recall a better restaurant experience overall. Congratulations to the team.

What an incredible service I received from Victoria. I hadn't booked a table for my son's birthday and she went above and beyond to help me. With such genuine compassion and solution orientated thinking Victoria is a credit to the restaurant. Lo que hizo que este restaurante fuera excepcional para nosotros fue el servicio por Phillippe, nunca hemos tenido un servicio como él en ningún otro lugar en el que hemos estado, y nos gusta cenar fuera y lugares agradables. Nos habló de todos los tipos de filete, se fue después de hablar con nosotros y regresó con cócteles que pensó que nos gustaría, y eran encantadores! Mi hijo definitivamente pudo probar un gran cóctel para su primera bebida alcohólica fuera - legalmente. : ) La comida era preciosa. Sin duda volveré a este restaurante. We always use to go to Goodman in Mayfair, after we have tried, Gaucho, Zelman and Macellaio (South Kensigton), everyone has its own specilaity, but for several reasons like the atmophere, the service and the quality we consider this place between one of the best meat place, if not the best one for me. We just popped in for a quick drink and ended up staying for 2! Loved the place. Sat at the bar and were entertained by the bar staff who were attentive and friendly. Wine was great and the food (people were eating next to us) looked good and they certainly enjoyed it.
