SWITCH in Southend-on-Sea

I really like this bar Unique Selling Point is the very friendly staff, the excellent food, and lots of games to play if you fancy it. Definitely my bar of choice in Southend.

This place is soooooo cool. Friendly staff, great food, great prices and lots to do. If you like games..... be it pool, ping pong, beer pong, board games, card games, video games, pinball....... they have it all. The best place in Southend for a fun night out. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Stopped in here with my son and a mate before a Southend game, great bar! Good pints, excellent food and loads of games to keep everyone entertained. Staff really friendly and accommodating even if they do think that pineapple belongs on a pizza ;)

I’m currently a student in Kingston so I don’t come back to Southend as much anymore. Despite that, I came back to see a few old mates and they told me about this place and what it had to offer and I was already excited! They have loads of board games, pinball, TVs that allow you to play all the top video games, as well as a pool table and ping pong table. The staff are just something else though, so friendly, genuinely the perfect hang out spot for anyone and their mates! The only thing i would improve about Switch, is my mates and the way they play pool, but practice makes perfect I guess ;)

Stumbled across this little gem and was welcomed by the most friendly staff who couldn't do enough to make us feel welcome and made sure we had a lovely time. What a fabulous atmosphere and concept for a chilled time, great service and very well designed. Would highly recommend this to anyone looking for great food and drink and of course fun playing some games. Thanks to all the staff for taking the time to chat and look after us the hospitality really was genuine and warm. Wished we lived nearer and could visit regularly!! Will definitely visit again!!

came here with my boyfriend last month when we came to visit southend and this was our first time here but we're definitely going back! cocktails priced amazingly well, the piña colada i ordered was amazing and we both had a good time playing monopoly! definitely recommend (:

An awesome bar with well priced cocktails, served by friendly staff. You can play console games at a cost per hour or hang out in the seated areas. It's a lovely gem of a place with a good atmosphere

It's basically a must-visit on my nights out in Southend now. Friendliest staff in town, a good atmosphere, great drinks and games to play with your friends! Trivia games are a lot more fun a few drinks in.

At Switch they do everything right. Above and beyond doesn't even cover it, they treat you like royalty. You fancy an off-menu smokey Marg? The beechwood is lit right up, then and there. Or a Paloma? Out comes a fresh grapefruit and Greg's Grandmother's citrus squeezer. Everything on the cocktail menu is also a winner, and they have a really decent selection of beer and cider. Being significantly the wrong side of 40, when a friend first suggested we go there, I was apprehensive, incorrectly assuming Switch was just for the kids, but it really isn't. It's a great night out for a group, a date or a catch up with a mate. It just a really fun place to be - great decor, music and the pizzas! Wow - there's even a vegan one! Or other snacky options if you're not feeling very pizzary. Get down there, grab one of the many games from the shelves and get stuck in.

Went here last night with a few mates and had a great time. Excellent to someone bringing something new to the bar scene in Southend. Owners were great hosts and made sure we had everything we needed. We had a booking for both the Nintendo Switch and Beer Pong. Food was excellent too. Will definitely be going back 👍

I have been a couple of times now to switch and I have nothing but overwhelming positive things to say about this place and everyone who works here. The are so laid back and helpful it creates the perfect night out. Nothing is too much for everyone here! Would 100% recommend everyone to go there as they have something for everyone. We went to Switch on a recommendation from a friend and it met all of our expectations and more. The staff are super friendly, even knowing a lot of the customer's names, the cocktails were super tasty, and they had plenty of game selections all of which in great condition!

Excellent bar with friendly staff and a selection of games and activities to play. The cocktails ordered were made well and tasted nice. The images on the back of the toilet door did make me laugh too 😄 Would highly recommend this place if you're in the area!

To say the staff are incredibly welcoming and kind is an understament. I'm surprised I haven't left a review sooner tbh. I had my party there last night and they we're brilliant. The place is amazing and my friends and family had so much to do to keep us all busy. We even got to listen to some live music. The drinks are great price for what you get and they make them and pour them in great style. The food was delicious and the games were endless. I HIGHLEY RECOMMEND 10 out of 10 Thank you again guys for a unforgettable night

Went there on my birthday and I gotta say, what a place! Awesome venue with excellent staff. Greg and Matt made us feel right at home. Loads of stuff to do in there ( although we were mainly on the cocktails which were amazing). Thay have beer pong and board games and games consoles which you can play. So if you are in Southend and want a wicked cill out vibe, head on over to Switch. You will not regret it. We will deffo see you guys next year. From your newest fans Ed and Kelly.

I've been here twice and found the atmosphere to be lively, drinks are affordable with a good selection and great concept with video games, beer pong, pool, board games, and treble tennis. Highly recommend for a fun night out.

Came here for my birthday for some drinks and games. It's pretty cool we have a place like this in Southend - from the energetic ping pong based games, to video games, right down to board games (we especially enjoyed the ridiculousness that is Cat Bingo 🤣) Decent drink selection and welcoming staff - will definitely be back 🏓

Such an amazing addition to Southend, the venue is designed spectacularly offering a variety of ping pong, beer pong, pool and games consoles. The price of drinks are very reasonable and the owners will always make sure to put you at the forefront of customer care.

Was a Saturday night and fairly quiet but we were in there pretty late. Few different groups and everyone was mega friendly, good banter, and the bar staff and owner were good fun too. Lots of entertainment, got smashed doing beer pong, and was going to have a go on one of their consoles but moved in instead. Beer was good, and had a Goldeneye cocktail, which was great. Didn't try the food, so can't rate it. Looking forward to going back at some point, and even giving the family times a go with the kids and trying the food menu out.

Went there for my birthday and was not disappointed, the vibe was perfect, staff were unreal and very accomidating as well as the cocktails being 10/10 and very well priced.

Went here for a last minute birthday party and the guys at Switch went above and beyond to help make it a great night for our party of 12. We booked consoles, played pool and tried pretty much all of the "light bites" on their food menu all of which were really nice. We LOVED the Chinese takeaway fries and the onion rings were perfect. Thanks again, we'll be back again and soon!

Cool place with loads of potential. Good selection of beers on tap and plenty of deals on each night of the week. Great for a drink or two, not just for table tennis! The tables are all different themes from serious matches to beer bong and the place has a lively vibe. Long may it continue!

What a breath of fresh air! Such a unique concept having a ping pong/beer pong as a focal point in a bar, and my gosh it works! What a vibe it is, I have been a few times and each time it never dissopoints. All the staff are extremely friendly and they just make it what it is you can see their passion in abundance and boy can they make a cocktail (or 10) 🤟🏻 big thanks to Greg and banks for being awesome. Will 100% be back and will reccomend to everyone I know.

It was so much fun and the staff were so lovely. We had a table booked for 3 hours and we didn't stop enjoying. It's fun you should try it. AND even though they didn't have a chef on duty they went above and beyond to cater for us. The staff need a big pat on the back. Thank you for a great night.

Southend has been needing a place like this for years!! Absolutely quality venue for my mates 30th. Couldn't recommend it more. Music, drinks and staff were absolutely spot on. Played table tennis and beer pong throughout the night. The owners were really attentive and made sure everyone had a top night (cheers Ben, Greg and the team!). Will be seeing you again soon for sure

Great fun, good prices, great staff and a fantastic niche that Southend so despartely needs. More FUN things to do in town. Inventive cocktail menu that's doesn't push things too far like other cocktail menus. A choice of traditional drinks and cocktails but also their own Pong cocktail twists. My favourite from the evening was their take on a white Russian called the "Ziggys Serve". They'd started serving food the night we came and we tried some seasoned fries, Chinese Takeaway. Nothing too crazy, tasted like cumin and star anise, maybe even Chinese 5 spice, but it was tasty and they were cooked well. Glad to see a local fun business that is only a tenner per half hour to play ping pong. Staff are all friendly and constantly making you're you've got a drink, are willing to chat and go above and beyond to make sure you're comfortable and enjoying yourself. All tables are booked in advance (I believe, you may want to check if walk ins are allowed) so no worries about coming and being overwhelmed by loads of people of you've booked for an hour. Overall, I wasn't expecting too much as my GF arranged this for her friends visiting from up north and I have to say we were all blown away by the style, look, atmosphere and experience. Fantastic stuff, Pong!

I’ve been here a couple of times now, and have to say what a vibe.. the place looks cool, cocktails are amazing and the staff are so friendly and helpful. The owner Ben walks about making sure everyone is having a good time, Greg and mark behind the bar make sure the drinks are made just right, the lady welcoming everyone (Nessa) very helpful, I don’t know all the names but all the staff are brilliant. I’ve been told they will be serving food this week, this is an added benefit to an already great place. Well done to the whole pong team ..

Do not bother to go there as my husband and I tried to eat something here and the lady chef seemed to be very bothered about it. She also rolled her eyes. When questioned if they still serve food ,she looked at us and she said very loudly "Depends what you want" and then she just said ,I wanna shut. No service costumer or training provided. I also think she was the owner, very shame of her. Being a pregnant women ,I really wanted to have a burger but is fine. Like this ,the business will go down

Purchased 2 Sunday Roast dinners. With two Murphy's it came to £33. The service was warm but in all honesty, the food was below the standards expected. Very bland taste and runny gravy is never good on a beef dish.
