Halikarnas in Southend-on-Sea

This place “was” always decent…last couple have been a shocker,,cold soggy an waited an hour for it!

them kebabs was not nice, mine was all little dona bits no stripes at all look like they scrapped it from the bottom of the pot.. they just lost my custom :(

Prices went up over 10% just before Xmas , also added £2.09 service charge plus £2 delivery . Excessive price increases

standard fare, was ok, didn't shiver me timbers but then few ever do.

Ordered a large dona kebab, and got small one instead, very disappointing as I order a lot from this place, so I know how a large one looks like. And it was also drowning in oil so badly, have never seen anything like that. I have been a regular customer for about a year, and it seems to me that this place is slowly dropping the ball, and have stopped caring for their costemers and quality of their food, honestly it's a bit sad.

The meat is good seasoned, tender, and deliciously crispy on the edges. The portions are somehow generous, and the staff is friendly and attentive. If you’re craving Turkish doner, this is the place to go! Top-notch spot!

No sauce in the burger and the buns tasted stale

Normally we have no issues but the order was late and the food was cold, they charge for delivery and include an additional surcharge, if you are going to charge extra the delivery and food needs to be spot on.

The only issue is no chilli peppers in the salad and no chilli sauce!!

ordered chicken shish with peppers and mushrooms but I had no mushrooms and for a grilled option was quite greasy

Food took nearly an hour to arrive after it had left the restaurant. Arrived cold and soggy. Rung the restaurant twice and was just told that the delivery driver had taken “multiple deliveries” out and we just had to wait.

Normally spot on with these guys, but kebabs turned up very greasy to the point that one of the pittas had to be thrown away. Disappointing

I ordered online thinking it was just eat but apparently they use there own driver so I'm waiting for my food watching the tracker then said enjoy your food... but nooo food realised wrong number of my house, BUT the code was on there to give to the driver .. He delivered it to next door in there open porch way without asking for the code. So no food. Rang but not helpful at all be careful where you spend your money because I won't be here again awful stay clear.

I’ve been using Halikarnas for 20+ yrs, it may have changed hands at some point but the quality of food has never changed. I never go anywhere else for my burgers/kebabs/pizza etc. Top quality food and service every time. Can’t recommend them enough!

Worst kebab I've ever seen, I've travelled the world and grew up in London.. Had to throw it away. Was definitely rotten and off... the smell was ghastly and meat was off... the grease was incredible and chips looked stale like they were cooked in old fat.... absolutely awful. Will never eat from this place... trying to get my money back off food hub

Didn’t read notes clearly. Asked for wrap with salad but no tomato or chillies. Got no salad no sauce and lots of chillies !

Excellent service, unfortunately my order was delivered but was incorrect a simple mistake. I was then offered a replacement meal and I was highly satisfied nice and quick.

Still the only place to grab a burger in Southchurch/ Shoeburyness. £7.50 for a huge customised quarter-pounder, in my case full of fresh salad, cheese and chilli sauce with chips and a can of your choice. Cooked in front of you by helpful staff who actually listen to you and get your order right, quickly, every time. Perfect and has been for at least the 25 years I've been going there

Delivery time was initially 21-2115 then changed to 2115-2135 but didn’t turn up until 22

Food is always good from Halikanas so no complaints there. However, the Just Eat app showed it had been delivered and it had not been. Phoned them and they apologised for running late. The food arrived over an hour after my order.

Always delicious kebabs from here and always on time, would recommend! The grilled veggies in the shish is a lovely touch

The food is always good from halikarna. However once again the quarter pounder ordered with salad & burger sauce arrived with cheese which isn't the end of the world but my daughter isn't that keen on it hence the order

Food was disgusting!! We could not eat the food!! It was covered in grease, smelt awful, and looked undercooked it’s gone straight in the bin! Will never be ordering from here again as this isn’t the first time this has happened

Really wouldn’t bother the lamb shish was so chewy you couldn’t eat it and the donor meat was greasy. The burgers are the only good thing this place serves now. Used to be one of the best.

food was delivered late and wasn't hot. kebab was very oily, not to the usually standard of this restaurant.

Hardly any donner meat was given with the meal very small portion and all food was dripping in oil and freezing cold never again.

Used to be great, but now food is usually cold, and the order is usually wrong in some way. We've been going to them for many years but probably won't go back after the latest order.

I'd forgotten how good these were ( been away a time ) local legend status has never been more apt .Bravo guys .

A little disappointed this evening, I order from here regularly and food is always top quality, however Food was very cold. There was no pepper or onion in kebab as normal, all salad was wrapped in with kebab so very soggy. Normally comes separately. Cheesy chips were also cold. I’m hoping this is just a fluke as normally very good quality.

It’s a shame, Just Eat has no way of contacting anyone to get help with this kinda stuff. Ordered 2 large kebabs (one doner and one shish) a pretty big price difference from the normal size. Got sent two VERY small kebabs, it’s a shame i can’t upload a picture because it’s an embarrassing how small these things were. Not to mention the chips that were forgotten. Extremely upset with this, and doubt I will be recommending or ordering again unfortunately. Food is expensive as it is, without things like this happening. Tried to call numerous times and no answer, no way to get help from Just Eat. Ridiculous.

Ordered a large kebab, when it arrived the portion size was tiny and came in a small polystyrene pot. Luke warm. Wouldn't order from here again.

First time we have ever had a problem with the food but tonight it was luke warm and there was no salad or chilli sauce. Very disappointing.

Size of portion of food is very poor about half a brest of chicken shish for nearly £10 not even enough to feed a child it not like the quality of the food is high
