Indiana Restaurant and Takeaway in Southend-on-Sea

Gorgeous food and lovely staff. Came here as a solo customer as I wanted a curry before uni and was treated wonderfully by the lovely staff. The food was gorgeous would recommend.

Always good food, and I have had delivery from them amazing value. Great staff really helpful if you have allergies I can definitely recommend. An update in 2024 another great evening at Indiana thanks for another good evening 👍🏻

My chicken was well over cooked so it was stringy and so much food colouring in the masala sauce.

Good tasty food, nicely spiced and not too oily. Sensible sized portions. Friendly staff.

I really don't like leaving bad reviews of businesses and normally only review to encourage people to go to a place (see my other reviews) , but i had to write this review. I'm a big fan of indian food and look forward to trying new places, however, i was really disappointed with the food from here. To start every dish was swimming in oil, even the birianyi! I ordered pistachio panneer chilli masala, because I was interested in the addition of pistachio, however, there was no discernable flavour of pistachio to this dish, indeed no discernable taste of anything. The panneer was incredibly bland. The sauce (chilli masala) was watery and tasted of nothing in particular, not even the usual garlic and ginger undertones, it wasn't even spicy. Back to the birianyi, I ordered a chicken birianyi. The chicken was dry, the rice lacking in flavour despite swimming in oil. I will say the best part of the meal was the veg dansak that comes with the birianyi, the veg in the curry was fresh as opposed to the frozen veg that lots of Indian restaurants use. Finally, there was a side of saag aloo. I am a huge fan of saag aloo, but again this was oily, watery potatoes, and a very bland saag. Sadly, after having a taste of everything it was binned. To the restaurant: if you think you had a bad night at the office and would like to make amends get in touch.

1st time trying Iniana but the food was just average nothing wrong with it just nothing special about it, I doubt I'll order from them again.

Expensive but you can take you're own alcohol. Water £3.50 a bottle so make sure you take that too, the don't let you have two water :-(

Really good food and alot cheaper than Mughal Dynsaty down the road, portions are bigger too.

We have used this place lots,but the last couple of times it's been different. The size of the dishes have got smaller. The service is not as good. From last night visit they couldn't wait to get you out the door.infact a waiter was standing at the door waving his arm to show us out. I would think again before using this place

The food was nice. No drinks licence so had to get drinks from the off licence up the road.

Our first time at this indian restaurant and it was lovely the food was very nice and the service was great it was very busy so had to wait a bit for food but it was ok because you had your own drinks so you pass the time drinking and chatting 😁 will definitely be going back
