Great service and waiter Mohawk. Delicious food! Came for dinner and ordered steak with fries and salad perfect meal and quality

If you want a quick and nice dinner or anything really, this a really good spot, considering it’s near hotels making it a nice option to eat near your hotel. The service ( and food) is great, went to wash my hands, and when I came back, food was ready. Would 100% recommend this to anybody who enjoys a good steak.

Easy to get a seat at seed table. Service was fast and the food was fantastic. The best part was the delicious desserts but also the main food here in Europe

My son had been looking forward to this restaurant since we planned the trip and it didn’t disappoint . Fixed menu of steak, ribeye, chicken, or salmon complete with salad, fries, bread, and a lot of butter sauce. We had the steak and chicken meals and were very happy with our food. Service was quick and the staff were very friendly. They’d remove any used bottles or plates immediately. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a place near the British Museum.

Food is always on point and value for money. The butter sauce is divine and I am regular here who keeps returning for the delicious salmon dish and my husband’s favourite is the steak. The only part is you are unable to book a table so you have to always come and wait for a seat. They are always busy so go with plenty of time as it can be a long wait to be seated.

I visited Swiss butter (Holborn) recently and unfortunately had the worst experience. While the food was decent, I couldn't help but notice some uncomfortable instances of subtle racism during my visit. They put their own people(Middle East/Arabs) ahead of everyone waiting in the line and they also get better seats and space. Additionally, the service was lacking as we had to repeatedly remind the staff for our drinks. Overall, it's disappointing that such issues detracted from what could have been an enjoyable dining experience.

Great experience. Straightforward tasty food in a busy and friendly atmosphere. Reasonably priced and decent quality.

Hahaha avoid this place by any means…. Special treatment depending on your ethnicity In this case if you are Arab you do not have to wait in queue like everybody else!!! Lucky for them!!!Lucky for me they won’t be seeing me again.. hell is hot

Simple, straight forward menu. Competently cooked steak, pleasanty unique sauce, good and attentive restaurant service.

I have to congratulate Swiss Butter's social media team on generating buzz (and queues) out of what is nothing more than a typically sub-par chain steakhouse where every meal is served with a mediocre, overly-vinegary entrecote sauce. I could devote space to how the sauce is offensive, but Tripadvisor has its limits, and so do I. I'll simply ask: how can something so overpowering also be so dull? For £50 I and my lunch companion gloomily chewed our way through two ribeye steaks paired with a pile of depressed-looking, lukewarm fries, reheated slices of catering baguettes and a salad dressed so aggressively with cream that the leaves themselves were barely visible. The steaks were competently cooked: almost as good as Bill's in Covent Garden, which isn't saying much. As I say; it was lunch and fairly quiet, and i imagine queuing adds something to the experience and perhaps explains the glowing reviews: anticipation is a better sauce that what they're serving here. Tl;Dr: Swiss Butter is a glum, fairly standard steakhouse chain that has somehow convinced a small number of influencers that it's a cut above Angus Steakhouse - probably with freebies. Go to Hawksmoor. It's more expensive, but it's worth it because they don't serve that sauce.

This rating is only for the sauce , it was a big let down. I don’t even think it goes well with steak, the salmon it might as it was very citrusy. Not sure I understand the hype of this if you have had steak and great sauces to accompany it. The service was great and they even gave us a free dessert but this is not the social media hype that they give out!

I went to swiss butter at 4.30pm for a social evening and whilst waiting for a friend with her toddler who arrived at 5.10pm, but whilst I waited for her at a table for 3, I ordered some water and a cup of tea. The tea arrived in a dirty stained steel mug, with satches of sugar in a clean mug. I drank a few sips and felt sick, the tea was brought to me by an inexperienced young male waiter - I complained to a female waiter who kindly brought me another mug with fresh tea. I felt 😫 sick. Was it because I was waiting a while I was served a "tramps" mug. I was not impressed. Overall the service brought by the male waiter and his friend was a little dodgy. I complained to the grown up female waiter and she was ever so sweet, she fixed us up and that eroded my annoyance. The food was not too bad!

We came here after seeing the videos on tik tok. Drinks sat on the bar for over 15 minutes. Food came luke warm, waitresses look like they don’t want to be at work. When our food eventually arrived, one of our party asked if it was the medium rare or rare steak “I don’t know” the waitress replied. We eventually asked for the bill, and that was the quickest part of the experience. There she was with a card machine before we even looked at the bill. If the food came that fast it might have still been hot! May have been an off day, but it’s certainly been enough to not want to find out if it was.

The best ribeye steak I've ever eaten. Service was quick, the food was delicious. We went in because the restaurant was full, so the food had to be good and it was.

We had to wait in a queue but we were expecting this and were determined even though it was cold! We prob went at peak time 8pm so waited approx 45 minutes. Some sort of digital queue would be much better like Nandos employ when busy. Once in the service was a little slow but they were very busy. We were served by Fatima who was friendly but obviously stretched across lots of tables. We met the manger while in the queue and he was friendly while obviously under pressure to make sure everything ran smooth. As a group of 7 we managed to order everything on the menu. Most of us had the steak which was surprisingly quite tender for the price, wasn’t expecting it. I do t like salmon but the guys who do said it was nice. The chicken wasn’t great tbh could do with more seasoning and was a bit tough. The platter is very filling and the butter is tasty with hints of mustard. Despite being busy we were never under any pressure to leave which was nice. We had the desserts too which are very nice if not excessively rich. Mocktails are ok but not amazing, that was probably the only let down. Overall a great night out. Would I queue up again for it? Not for 45 minutes but I would definitely visit again if there was no wait or a much shorter wait (15 mins max).

Had a really nice meal with my two children. There was no queue when we arrived. The guy on front of house was very friendly and let us wait Inside. The food was really nice we all had steak. Would of like a bit more meat! Very busy and space quite tight but still had an enjoyable experience. The staff were friendly. Even got a caramel dessert on the house which was lovely. We went as a family of 4 and all of us asked for our steak cooked differently. When our meals come it was perfect! Massive portions and the Swiss butter sauce is lovely but not what I first expected.
