Stumbled across this little hideaway whilst searching on Google maps for coffee. Wonderful place with excellent food and service. We ordered sandwiches with the idea of having a piece of cake or a clotted cream scone afterwards. Couldn't manage another mouthful afterwards so guess we'll have to go back again. Well worth the visit.

This tiny sweet shop come tea shop has very few tables so we booked and were seated upstairs surrounded by wartime memorabilia right down to the taped windows. Hearty sandwiches, scones with a choice a jams and delicious home made cakes. We were even provided with cake boxes to take home what we could not eat. One tiny criticism is the lack of a coffee pot for the none tea drinker. The coffee drinker always seems to lose out with afternoon teas. A most enjoyable afternoon.

We had huge delicious doorstep sandwiches followed by fantastic homemade cakes, we were even asked what cakes we liked/ didn’t like so we didn’t end up with anything we didn’t like. This really is a must visit, only a few tables so if you are going for afternoon tea it’s worth booking

Well what a lovely little place to have a bite to eat ,it was the first time we visited the Tearooms ,and I was impressed at the detail in the décor ,off the 1940s theme which was upstairs in a cosy little room ,they even had music from the 1940s,and the sounds off bombing raids what happened in the war which was very good , impressed.when we entered the Tearooms she was very polite and she was helpfull while we was there ,and was very friendly as well in deciding what to eat . Nar then let's get down to the nitty gritty about the food in question, well for starters we had the soup which was good with two slabs off brown bread ,ooohh yess good stuff indeed, it was carrot and corrender . Nice and hot ,and tasty, and for mains we had sandwiches with crisps and salad, she advised to have one portion because it would be enough for us ,and she was right ,there was other fillings to choose from ,the sandwiches where like doorsteps, impressed. Nar for afters we had the scones, these scones at not normal scones they are BIG normal scones,I had the ginger scones ,never had ginger ones before but they was very nice ,nice hint off ginger with little bits in as well, with jam and cream . And off course you get a good pot off tea to wash it down with. We live abart 60 miles away ,but next time we are in the area we will visit sweet cottage Tearooms again. So get thee Sen darn and have Sarny or two and enjoy. A'll see thee.

Had a great afternoon having lunch with a friend in Sweet Cottage Tea Rooms. The food was excellent and freshly made (a panini and baked potato) and the cakes were delicious. The service was attentive without being intrusive. We spent over 2 hours there having a relaxing lunch and were treated like royalty. We loved the 40s theme of the tea room and the music playing. A really friendly tea room and one which I will definitely return to.

What a little gem this place is. Gorgeous sandwiches, amazing scones and incredible cakes served by wonderful people. Couldn’t be better. If you’re in and around Nottingham make a trip to visit - you won’t be disappointed. Worth booking though - only a few tables and it’s (understandably) very popular. 1940s room upstairs is lovely with lots of memorabilia and 1940s music placing. Love it - will be back very soon!

This place is a littlr gem for yummy home made cakes, scones et al thru the year plus farm-produced ice creams and traditional sweets. Splendid 1940's decor and memorabilia, tiny table with flower pot outside to take yr ease, ground floor counter and seating, bigger room upstairs and sunny proprietors. Go search it out Just up the hill from Cropwell/Main Road crossroads.

This place is worth a visit if you're in the area. It's a tiny cottage on the main road selling normal tea room fare plus sweets in jars & ice creams. Upstairs has a lovely 1940s parlour which feels like the real deal. I've only ever had tea & cake here but it has always been spot on. I nearly forgot Rona! What a lovely warm lady she is, so friendly & welcoming. My friend & I don't live locally so can't visit that often, but she always remembers us & greets us like old friends.

We pre booked an afternoon tea for two. Rona reserved a table for us upstairs in the 1940s decorated room. She was very welcoming and friendly. We were shown a selection of freshly baked cakes all that looked and sounded delicious. We made our way upstairs and Rona came up and asked what tea we would like, a fruit or a plain scone and also what topping to go with the clotted cream. We were served a big pot of tea and shortly after our food arrived. All was very well presented and tasted amazing. I would fully recommend a visit here.

A 1940's themed tea rooms just outside the village centre but well worth the effort to visit if only to experience the afternoon teas which the proprietress prepares herself. As well as the scones there is usually a selection of cakes and flapjack often with a white and brown chocolate topping, rocky road and date slices. Various sandwiches are available made to order. Panini are also made to order so everything is a fresh as can be. There are various confectionery sold by the weight as well as Thaymar's Ice Cream (various flavours) locally made in Nottinghamshire. Also sells Piper's Crisps from North Lincolnshire, again various flavours, which I think are some of the best crisps available. Very friendly atmosphere. Most seats are upstairs but there are a couple of tables on ground floor if you are disabled. Small premises but cosy.

Made 2 visits here to break longish journey Yorks to Leics. Firstly for coffee on way down and then for a late lunch on way back. Both were really pleasant experiences, nice quality food and drink at very reasonable prices. The lady owner is very friendly and the upstairs 40s room is tastefully decorated with music available if required. Recommended

Our granddaughter bought us a Groupon voucher for Christmas which we used on my 70th birthday in March. The afternoon tea was excellent & the service first class. The premises are small but this adds to the atmosphere and as a 1940's fan we enjoyed the decor.

Encouraged by the earlier reviews (and by some beautiful Spring weather), we decided to take a trip to Sweet Cottage Tea Rooms. Having booked a table in the Upper Room for a light lunch, we arrived just before 1:00 pm and were warmly greeted and escorted to one of the two tables in what at one time would have been the bedroom of this traditional cottage.

Situated just off the A52 on the main street through Radcliffe this delightful Tea rooms is a great find and very welcoming by its lady owner. Themed on the 1940’s the upstairs room is kitted out with items from this era, first time I’ve seen a ration book and ID card. A great place with freshly made cakes and sweets a plenty. Recommended by me and the other half.

Went one Saturday with wife and daughter for tea and scones. 40s decor is great and reminded me of going to my grans house (in a good way!). Very small, but that didn't take away from experience. Scones were lovely (I had one with syrup and cream, yum). Staff also really friendly.

Amazing food & fruit smoothies! I’ve never once had a bad meal everything tastes amazing the soup is always something different which I love the variety! Most places stick to the same soup every week! The fruit smoothies are actually addictive there that good and so refreshing!!! Definitely the best scran in the three towns by miles!! The staff can’t do enough to help you and make sure you are 100% happy with everything! Honestly you couldn’t fault it!

Came here with a friend we were visiting. Nice little tea room. Food is delicious and cooked fresh everyday. Having came here on our friends recommendation I certainly recommend this tea room. Made to feel very welcome. We took the last of the scones home to enjoy. I'd also like to recommend the luxury milkshake. That was really nice. The bacon brie and cranberry Panini is also a good choice.

Love this cafe. The setting is lovely, you can go for a walk around nature reserve/eco farm (complete with a few pigs/sheep/goats/geese) then have a nice breakfast or lunch. Coffee is top notch with a good selection of hot and cold drinks. Have to call out the porridge which is epic- the best porridge I’ve ever had out; it fills you up all day. Friendly efficient service. Like the fact you can order via QR code (you can also go to the till). Bacon and sausage cobs are amazing too. Choices for veggies/vegans too.
