Sweet Cafe in Ashfield

The best coffee I have had since arriving in the UK three weeks ago. This is a popular place and was very busy. The staff were very friendly and enthusiastic but could have been slightly more organised as it was very busy.We had coffee and scones which were good. There is a quite extensive Cafe menu and all meals are prepared to order. Worth a return visit to check out the lunch menu and the great coffee.

My fiancee and i had the perfect afternoon valentines lunch at Sweet Cafe, really nice club sandwich with a good filling. We also had the tuna sandwiches, also very good quality. Drinks also fresh and very nice. The owners and staff are always really friendly. Execellent customer service. Would highly recommend a visit.

My fiancee and i, have been regulars at this cafe. Friendly staff, top quality food at a great price. The sandwiches are well filled. A good selection of cakes to compliment tea for two.

Yeah this food is cheap and there's a reason. All the samosas and bhajis weren't fresh. Should be crispy and warm but were all were like they'd been microwaved. Buttered chicken was like tomato soup. The naan bread keema was also was quite bad. Never done a review before but I feel like I had to.

Excellent cafe. Good value, friendly staff. An asset to Hucknall. We visit regularly. Always an enjoyable experience.

Food not very warm, but tasty. Lamb Buna was rather 'odd'. Lamb pieces in a lamb mince sauce. No visible tomatoes or onions. Never had one like that before! A bit disappointing overall.

We were totally overwhelmed by the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. Wonderful choice of food, all nicely served and presented and generously portioned. What a lovely and unexpected treat.

I'm so glad this place has reopened after lockdown I've missed my latte and bacon buttie, it's great to be back in my favourite little cafe. Good luck guys keep up the good work

Everything was perfect, the only let down were aloo tikki ( not fresh and really soggy). Other than that excellent.

Not been in for a while and forgot how lovely this place is. Great food and coffee . I won't leave it so long next time. Keep up the good work guys.

1st time me and my daughter used this cafe we loved it, the staff are super friendly and welcoming. 2nd time was for breakfast and Wow!!! Now that's a break ie, lots of taste not swimming in fat just quality. Will be back guys thankyou

Sorry but I was very disappointed with my experience here. We ordered toasted teacakes which were burnt and when I visited the loo I was really shocked. They were filthy - cobwebs all over the window and looked as if the floor hadn't been swept properly in months. At these times when we need to be so careful about hygiene it really put me off. Won't be back.

My sister and brother in law visited me and we went into in my opinion the best cafe in Hucknall. Great food great atmosphere great staff and great sweets. My sister and brother in law were also impressed by the lovely food and service. 5 stars

Hidden Gem Been coming in here for years and I can honestly say it's the best cafe in hucknall by a mile. The food is excellent the service is first class and the coffees are as good as anywhere. Keep up the good work girls

One of the dishes was very salty and lacked flavour. Otherwise good.

The cafe is to the rear of the sweet shop on Hucknall High Street. Friendly staff and service. The breakfasts we ordered were ok, but they were lukewarm at best, some parts just plain cold. When you spread stuff out so much on a plate to make it appear ’more’, it also makes it cool down far quicker. Maybe just get smaller plates and serve it quicker.

Paneer Butter tasted and smelt like tomato ketchup, chicken methi did not come with chicken in it. Naan was nice.

Absolutely SHOCKING!!!! after an hour and a half of waiting we rang up and they said they forgot about the delivery and will be there as soon as, which took a further hour only to come tasting like it was LAST WEEKS TAKEAWAY REHEATED!!!

Myself and my girls visit the Sweet Cafe regularly, and always find it a very pleasant experience, the staff are lovely and friendly, the food is always delicious, and if the girls fancy an extra treat, they sell old fashioned sweets in jars and ice cream, the Sweet Cafe is a big favourite of ours.

Called in on a recommendation. The staff were lovely, very welcoming and obliging. Although it was lunch time we opted for afternoon tea for two. Choice of sandwiches and cake - all freshly made. The scones, jam and clotted cream were delicious. Will definitely be back, especially as we have to support our local businesses.

My friend and I visited here 2 days ago for the Tea for Two, after being turned away from several other places as we had mot booked days in advance for an afternoon tea. Im so glad they did as the food at The Sweet Cafe was lovely-so fresh and the presentation was just as good.

I've visited this cafe many times both with a friend and with my family. When my parents come to visit they always request to go there for brunch or lunch.

Food was really poor quality and cold on delivery. Leamington/Warwick is a highly competitive market for Indian cuisine and I would not recommend based on my experience. staff very polite, helpful and food was delivered on time. maybe It was just a bad day for the chef dan

We moved to Hucknall recently, and while we were in town, stopped in for a light snack, straight away the atmosphere was brilliant with the locals chatting away to each other and the owner. The food was made fresh and plentiful. Have been a couple of times now, and will make a regular stop when we are in town.

This was the first visit and was highly impressed.. Service was excellent, teas and coffees made to irder, choice of soft drinks for children. This is a dog friendly place. I didn't eat but my friend did. Her tuna baguette with.side salad looked delicious. Daughters cake also looked very appetizing. I wished I hadn't eaten before joining them.

Wanted to get Cola cubes for a friend, and couldn't find them anywhere! Someone suggested this shop so I had a look and so happy I did. What a lovely little shop! Great range of sweets you don't normally see! Managed to get cola cubes (packaged so lovely!) and my son got to choose a few individual sweets for himself too which he loved! The do lovely sweet filled party cones too!

This place amused me for a while. Living in this area for over two years and had no time/will to visit. But one time on Saturday... very big and good latte and freshly cooked vegetarian breakfast... simply made this place one of my favorite on the local High Street. Recommended!

Good food, very friendly staff. Excellent service. I go here often with my fiancee. The club sandwich is excellent, salmon sandwiches really nice. I find the breakfast to be of a high standard. The drinks are really nice, would highly recommend the cafe mocha, really yummy. I have been here many times and will continue to do so. Well done to the owners and staff at sweet cafe.

I've been here lots. I think that says it all. Quite simply the breakfast cobs are wonderful, the coffees are great and the service friendly and efficient.

Had a wonderful cup of coffee and toast ... also have a large range of sweet in jars on their shelves.

Popped in for a coffee and was served straight away - coffee was brought to the table. Offer a good range of cakes and lunches plus breakfasts. Part of the café is a sweet shop offering a wide range of pick and mix jars of sweets to take away. Don't offer wheat free alternatives which is a slight disadvantage nowadays. Would still call back for a drink though. Children are welcome.

Love this little cafe been visiting for years when I can. There are lots of cafes popped up in Hucknall but this one is the one we like to visit when having a treat. Food is lovely and good portion sizes.

I can’t remember the last time I went, it was a good few months ago (hence why I put September) but every time I have gone there is always a warm atmosphere with all of the staff caring and enjoying their job. The hot drinks are nice, and there is an entire wall dedicated to sweets! I think it is based off of a typical older shop but it just suits it.

I called in for a bite to eat and a coffee and this is now my Favourite Cafe in Hucknall.

Popped in for a drink after work and enjoyed a delicious and generous coffee, made from Italian beans. Felt welcome and service was excellent. Offered a wide range of cakes, including gluten free choices. Unfortunately, they don't provide gluten free sandwiches and rolls. A shame otherwise I'd be back for lunch with my family (one of whom has a wheat intolerance.

This is the second time that we have visited the Sweet Café. The first time that we visited the café was very busy but the service was brilliant. The food was brilliant. This time the café wasn't as busy but service was still excellent and food was delicious. This is easily the best place around here. Highly recommended!

We try this coffee shop last weekend and we love it. It is a family place with deliceuxs fresh cakes and a lovely atmosphere. We felt very comfortable so for sure we will came back

I often visit the Sweet Cafe with a friend as it's a nice, relaxing place to have a coffee and a chat. They always have a good selection of fantastic homemade cakes and the staff are lovely. With the completion of the pedestrianisation of the High Street, they now have some outside tables too. Highly recommended.

Went to sweet cafe for lunch this afternoon and had jacket potatoe with tuna and salad excellent as usual had the chocolate cake for desert which was truly scrumptious excellent staff and very good service keep up the good work

Superb. this place is just the best we had a afternoon tea for two only £11.95 absolutely delicious.

My aunty and my two children went on a Saturday afternoon and the guy behind the counter wasn't very child friendly. Not going into to much detail but from the conversation he was trying to start with my aunt he isn't a fan of kids.

The ladies are lovely and attentive, the male server can be a bit rude, though I'm not sure he intends to be! Toasties, panninis, soup and sandwiches all yummy. Great selection of cakes as well as the sweets side.

They actually make 300 different flavors , offer free samples . Have hard candies, bonbons, chocolate , jelly beans , sours ,sugar free, ice cream , fudge. Must see . I really should have bought more .

I live locally and occasionally visit the Sweet Cafe. They have a wonderful range of traditional sweets and great food. Topped off with friendly staff and a warming atmosphere.

Lovely cafe, came in the afternoon to ask if they could make me 15 sweet cones for my baby shower, the staff where so friendly told me to take a seat and they would do them right away. Filled them with pink sweeties and pink ribbons. Was a perfect touch for my baby shower.

I secretly have a tea and cob here when my wife isn't with me. Quire simply they do things right. Lovely bacon and sausages and fresh tasty bread. Its my secret treat and I love it.

Today I visited the sweet cafe It was anazing I had the club sandwich and it was lovely and well presented the lemon merignue cookie crust was lush so I had 2 pieces the staff are so lovely and welcoming will always go there well done to all the staff at the sweet cafe

Called in to the Sweet Cafe for lunch this week on a recommendation from our daughter and was suitability impressed. We had a jacket potato, a panini and a toastie all with salad and a soft drink. It all came to under £20. Great value with quick and friendly service. Very impressed.

We have been visiting the Sweet Cafe now since the summer, often enjoying the breakfast cob. However, on this visit we decided to go for the hot turkey and cranberry baguette. Why did we not have one earlier? It was so fresh and far superior to baguettes we had enjoyed before elsewhere . My husband and I love meeting our daughter and son-in-law the Sweet Cafe for our lunch. The welcome we receive from Mark and his staff is nothing short of amazing. They are all smartly dressed, polite, and very friendly. There is a good selection of food and so there is something for everyone, special diets are catered for too. My husband love the chunky beef and vegetable soup, and I always have the panini with bacon and brie with cranberry. It is very reasonably priced and always served hot. Your the best Mark.

Sweet Cafe is our choice for good old fashioned meals.I particularly enjoy the cheese-on - toast and a latte.The bacon cobs are always excellent and the toasters.We enjoy eating here as the staff are friendly,it's always clean and an excellent menu.The traditional range of sweets are fun and staff participate in seasonal activities that make the cafe a fun and friendly place to be.Take a visit you will be pleasantly surprised!

This place is amazing. It's got an excellent range of food on the menu. It's immaculate the staff are the best. My husband adores the chunky vegetable soup and my favourite is the toasted sandwiches. I have never seen anything like the display of sweets and they cater for diabetics with a vast range of sugar free sweets. Mark your business is the best.
