Swan Inn Alderton in Suffolk Coastal

A really great gem of a pub with lovely owners and a really good atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area, only popped in for a pint and ended up staying the whole evening. Wish it was my local it was a really fun pub.

This has been re-opened by new owners after lying empty for 2 years, unfortunately the new owners cannot reclaim this Google listing. But for a friendly country pub with great atmosphere and a lovely comfortable interior with good beer it's great.

We came up to collect a small boat from Cornwall and really needed a room over night for 3 . Kevin was recommended by the boat builder and was amazing host.Made sure we had everything we needed for a comfortable nights sleep.The room was amazing and spotless and flawless. The yard outside had a lovely Greek feeling to it and was unexpected. And we they have 4 ducks that are friendly. We love animals so suited us. You can tell a lot about a person by way they treat animals! Thank you for a great overnight only wish we had another night to enjoy the pub

We were invited by friends to join them in the Swan on a Saturday night. The greeting by the Landlord/Host was really lovely. The 'vibe' was such that you immediately felt like you were very much welcomed and belonged there. It made me want to live in the village. If you do live there, support this pub! After a few hours spent in the pub, it's clear that it's a super friendly village pub that welcomes 'newcomers'. I wish they did food but they don't. That's a shame as it would be the icing on the cake if they did. Check if they're open as they do close on the odd day.

A great local pub with lots of local events music quiz nights, no food but pizza night once a week. The owners have brought into local village life. While visiting one of the locals stood in behind the bar to get me a drink while the owner was down in the cellars.

Visited a friend in the area,travelled down from Liverpool.Good beer friendly atmosphere,everyone spoke to us and made us feel at home.

We stopped at the Swan Inn after being caught in a rain storm and were absolutely soaked to the core. Unbeknownst to us, the pub was actually closed in preparation for a wedding, but seeing our plight, the owners took pity on us, gave us a towel to dry ourselves and soggy dog off with and we stopped for a drink! Absolute superstars and makes you realise there are nice, helpful and understanding people left in this world!

A real local pub. Great friendly atmosphere, no food, no food smells, just a good honest proper pub. Not many of them left!

Great family rub pub, re ently renovated to a very high standard, cosy, friendly ambience with a hint of a Rockabilly theme. Kevin the landlord and his wife will look after you.

Nice Pub but no sandwich menu for lunch, such a shame, had soup and a roll, soup was nice but roll rock hard.

Successfully refurbished old pub with friendly staff. I had probably the most expensive pint and sandwich (ciabatta) of my travels outside Central London though at nearly £12 and it wasn't even hand-carved ham. Nevertheless, worth a visit if down there in that part of Suffolk.

Lovely Sunday lunch with live music

Stopped here for lunch after a lovely windy walk on Shingle Street beach. A superb pub with a nice garden and a friendly warm welcome. As for the food all I can say is excellent. Would highly recommend a visit here, dog friendly good range of beers and an all round great country establishment.

Wonderful staff, cosy decor with a lovely outside space, ate my perfect steak outside watching the starlings with a rhubarb cider!

Best pub food I‘ve ever had! And reasonable. (Only lemon tart didn’t meet the high standard of starter and mains)

This place is a real hidden gem in the countryside. The pub is beautiful and has a garden. Staff are very friendly and attentive. Food is delicious and great prices. I would definitely recommend visiting. I will be going back again!

Very warm and cosy pub. Food was freshly prepared and excellent (sardines and salmon). Would also recommend the Chicken Curry. Staff were polite and helpful. Also lovely outdoor seating area.

We visited this restaurant on Saturday evening and where pleased to find that even though we had not booked on a hot sunny Saturday there was still a few tables available. The food was of good quality however the menu was a little small. The service was great and they had a couple of no alcoholic beers. The only issue we had was my wife did not enjoy the ice cream as it seemed to be crunchy and hard.

Only went for a drink. Food looks really nice bit a bit pricey.

Thank you all very much for a lovely lunch. We all enjoyed it very much. Even my mum managed to find something that she really enjoyed (vegetarian) and she can be difficult 😊 The ‘little something extra’ for the Mums was especially a nice touch. I consider ourselves very lucky to have such a ‘Good local’. Keep up the good work

We had a fantastic Sunday lunch here. The best lamb I've ever tasted and incredibly friendly service. 6 stars really.

30 lancia motor club members taking part in FFFear raid around Suffolk in their 15 classic Lancias, had lunch at the Alderton Swan. I can't praise it highly enough, excellent food, lovely atmosphere with friendly efficient staff made our visit memorable, so a big thank you.

Had a amazing meal last night with my missus for our first anniversary, the food was to die for, I'd asked if they could make it feel romantic for us because I wanted to give my missus a lovely meal to remember and they were brilliant about it, candle lit table, a glass of preseco on the house when we came in, and a little bit of confetti on the table with a lovely note from the team wishing us a happy anniversary, when we first went in weren't sure what size there portions were so we ordered a starter, mains, and desert, by the end of the night we were wishing we'd only ordered a mains, and desert we were completely stuffed. I would definitely recommend the Swan to anyone and will definitely be going back again but will probably only order a mains and desert next time lol.

A lovely place to experience amazing food and good atmosphere. It is so good that we had to come back two days in a row to try some other dishes on the menu. Will definitely have to come back.

Absolutely fantastic. Not a broad menu especially for non meat eaters. But the service, especially the charming and traditional young man serving and the interaction with the lady Co owner made our two visits really very special. Highly recommended

back in the day (late 80's) i spent time at the swan, talking to Al at the bar, pissed on the wall in the toilet behind the pub, toke the ferry to felixstowe for a day, gawked at the missile site at bawdsey, and had alot fun. i wouldnt mind going back and doing it again here sometime.
