Food was cold and disgusting. Steak burger was served in a roll which looked like something that would be served in a chippy. Waitress has clearly not been trained properly at all as her hospitality skills were dragging through the dirt.

Called in yesterday. Had a homemade soup and sandwich combo and a chips, sausage, egg and beans. Everything was cooked to perfection. Coffee was also fantastic. Had a wee dog with us and they made him very welcome. We will definitely return next time we’re in Dumfries 🥰

Delightful courtyard coffee shop in the heart of Dumfries, though a little hidden away. Do seek it out. Lovely coffees & toasted teacakes. Very friendly and helpful staff, who were so hospitable to us and our Westie. A1.

Stumbled across this place tucked in among the backstreets of Dumfries. Just had coffee, scone and a bacon roll which was excellent, large roll with well done crispy bacon and decent coffee. It wasn’t very busy but still took 30 minutes for the roll to appear, which wasn’t too big a problem as we weren’t in a rush that day, nice decor, decent food, but it is not somewhere to go if you want quick service.

Today we visited and as it was a Sunday i decided on a chicken dinner, big mistake.Where do i start?Chicken was very dry and not hot, roast potatoes were small and hard, carrots were raw, parsnips were rock hard and had a bitter taste.Mash was tasteless and cauliflower cheese had a vague taste of cheese. The peas and yorkshire were ok but the latter was very small. My gravy was lukewarm so they kindly heated it till it was more like molten lava!I had to ask for napkins as apparently us customers cannot be trusted to use the dispensers!I wouldn't advise anyone to eat here, had an upset stomach all afternoon.

I have reviewed this Restaurant as part of the Galloway Arms Hotel, so this will hopefully clarify the earlier reviews. We have been on a number of occasions since the last review and we have not been disappointed with the food at the Nine Mile Bar & Bistro within The Galloway Arms Hotel. On this visit we chose two times Two Course Specials priced at £14.50 each. The Starters were battered Chicken Goujons, which was quite a large portion and Tempura coated Prawns. Both dishes were very good and the Chicken alone would have been enough for my Wife as a main course. (Small Eater). My Wife had the Beef Stroganoff and I had the Salmon in Dill sauce for the main courses. Normally, we tend to have just the main courses and therefore we had to take home the chips, which were provided along with the Stroganoff half & half. A pint of Moretti is £3.50 and a large Chardonnay is £5.00 and the total bill without tip came to £37.50. The surroundings in the Hotel's main bar is simple, but cozy. A 10 minute drive from Dumfries gets you to this Hotel and I think that it is worth this very small effort.More

Great atmospheric diner...very retro and great coffee. Good choice of ice cream and attentive staff...loved the old fashioned style.
