Just as good as my last teview best Fish & Chips in Chaddesden by a mile. I only have chippy tea now and again due to my stomach. So it has to be perfect. It was.

The best fish and chips I've had in a long time. Crispy golden batter,well done chips and peas still hot. I don't have a good appetite since Covid and a have a delicate stomach. Delicious and a good price. Tasted like the ones at the seaside.

Went today, new to area, at 12.30 lunchtime, had large fish, small chips and a small curry sauce, staff friendly, served quickly, even with quite a queue, well priced and food was lovely, not greasy, well cooked, fish thick and moist, batter nice n crispy, thank you, was lovely, will be back soon

First time visit yesterday & was not disappointed at all, great customer service, food hot and great quality ( must use finest potatoes as they were outstanding) I also had a homemade fish cake which was spot on too. Would highly recommend and this will certainly be somewhere I go back to in the future. Nice and busy which is always a good sign. Well done SCFB

I called in here while I was in the area, I frequently am and this is the usual place when its dinnertime. I had my usual mini fish, chips and peas and when it came to paying I noticed the price increase, what used to be £3.70 ish has now gone up to £5. I know that fuel and energy prices have increased and everything costs more but a £1.30 price hike in a couple of weeks is a heck of a jump but if they've got to increase prices to stay in business then it has to be accepted, besides which, it only really puts it on par with other chippy's in my own area. What I don't understand is why the portions are now half of what they were before? I don't mind paying extra for food but I do mind paying extra for less food than before. Oh well, it was good while it lasted but all good things must come to an end, I won't be going back any time soon. So Long And Thanks For All Of The Fish.

I do volunteer driving for the NHS and must have sampled most fish and chip shops in and around Derby and Derbyshire. This shop is without doubt the best I have ever used. The food is always fresh, hot, well cooked, plentiful and tasty. Prices are low and the staff are very friendly. You could not ask for more! A close second is George's in Ilkeston!

Called in fri dinner for 2small fish chips and peas ,to eat in the car with my elderly mum as I'd taken her out to markeaton Park for a walk. Thought the 2 fish that were already cooked and waiting to be purchased in the hot counter looked a tad thin ( I was thinking not much fish to them ) but I was happily proved wrong .I was hoping to buy a large fish that was there and was wondering if the could just split it and separate it on to 2 trays of chips ,but unfortunately the lady behind the counter didn't seem willing to do so .Although she did say we could cut inhalf ourselves at home but we weren't able to do that as eating in the car ,as my mum lives at far end of Radbourne Lane but we like to visit this specific chip shop as its sooooooo tasty and value for money and delicious. The food would be cold by time we got to her house . But like I say I was wrong to think the small fish was going to be thin and not meaty ,it was absolutely delicious and the batter just right .chips and peas just as good . Thank you , very happy mum =1 happy daughter x

Fantastic food , large portions , cod was beautifully white and meaty . Staff very friendly . Very clean , excellent hygiene levels . Well done

We drive to Sussex Circus chippy from the other side of Derby, passing lots of other chippy's on the way, we wouldn't even consider stopping at another chippy after going to this place. Everything is always freshly cooked, the staff are really nice and the prices and portions are excellent. Beware of the Cod, they are huge and perfectly cooked, have your best appetite at the ready if you call in for large Cod, Chips & Peas!

Been buying Fish and chips from here since 1978 so 40 + years would not be doing that if they were not first class. Friendly staff, clean and good prices.

All the traditional staples of a good down to earth chip shop, all freshly cooked ready to take away.
