Gerard Street Fish Bar in Derby

Whenever I go here and get my food the staff are always friendly, portions are large, so much that we get regular chips but can't eat them all

Fresh hot food the chicken tika meat was juicy and the chips was hot polite delivery driver defo be ordering from here again 10 out of 10

orderd for 16:30 arrived at 17.05

weather was arwfull so well done on keeping me updated.

Kebab chicken not cooked so inedible. Fishcakes not delivered. Called restraunt and they said they would send replacement food. It never arrived. Two of family didn't eat. Poor service tonight. Shame as this was my go to chip shop till this experience.

not bad tbh. sunrise is always a nice resturant to eat at. very understanding of the fact i didnt want to order much and the delivery driver was quick to hand over the food and followed my instrutions. a extreamly pleasing experience all round.

Food was delivered nearly 2 hours late, was cold and soggy. Not even a hint of an apology from the delivery driver or restaurant

Delivery driver was absolutely amazing. Very polite and understanding. Even followed my notes (you’d be surprised how many don’t) amazing person. The thing I’m not impressed with is the grub. Yes nice and warm and Tasty but cmon a minimum order of a tenner. Was contemplating weather it was worth it and you know what? It wasn’t. I only went here as my regular wasn’t open. They don’t have a “minimum spend” if they can do it so can these crazy people. My advice you’d be better off going Mc Donalds

The southern fried chicken was uneatable! Massively overcooked and dry as a bone. We won’t be ordering from here ever again. £3.50 for delivery is scandalous as we live under a mile from Gerard St.

Large was the same size as a regular and they did not put any salt or vinegar on food, overall it was ok

I have know the family owns the chip shop for years, when their dad ran it before he re- tired, now his boys now run the business, I always order from there, Mario & his tean do a excellent job 100% customer service. Keep up the good work

Very slow said 45 minutes then phone them see food been sent said another 15 minutes food come ok but the kebab was cold I'm dripping with grease 🤢

Food was cold on arrival and way over priced. Ordered Cod and got Haddock and paid £9 for what I would class as a mini fish. Scampi was soggy as was sat on top of salad. Awful

Amazing! They didn’t have any home made fish cakes so replaced them with normal fish cakes x2 and even refunded me a couple quid + a free bottle of Pepsi! 10/10 service and the delivery lady was very friendly 5 star! Highly recommend!:)

Nailed it again! I don't know how they do it - but the food is piping hot and really, really good. Will be continuing to recommend to anyone who'll listen! Excellent food and reliable service.

Visiting Derby last weekend,Googled Chippie near city,Gerard Street Fish Bar was recommended,so walked up and was not disappointed,excellent quality and portion size,would recommend,

Wouldn't recommend this chippy, this chippy was a lot better back in the day it's now gone down hill. The portions have got a lot smaller and the prices have gone up, really not worth it. Better of paying for Zam Zams or Georges chippy there a lot better. Also the foods hit or miss, sometimes it Good, sometimes its Alright, then sometimes its disgusting.

No chips arrived with our large donner tray. Luke warm on arrival and paid £10.90 for a (not even large) tray of donner meat and salad. Meat swimming in puddles of grease.

I asked for no salt and vinegar on my meal and yet it was added. It was late almost an hour over it's estimated time of delivery

Everything was freezing cold, portions were overpriced and tiny. 1 item missing. Waste of time and money, won’t be ordering from here again.

Absolutely fantastic food. And it arrived hot, which is not easy with fish & chips. 5 out of 5 all round!

I called in on a Sunday for fish n chips for the family. My nephew, who has Down's Syndrome, came with me. The staff were excellent with him. He read out the order, they checked it with him and me and also gave him a free drink to have whilst we waited for our food to be cooked. The food was really tasty. Everyone enjoyed their meal.

delivered to wrong house from mine neighbours 6 houses away came to mine meal was stone cold and the bake beans were emptied all in the bag won't be buying again waste of money

I ordered a few items which were fine but instead of a kebab, and portion of gravy we got an extra fish? I tried to ring the restaurant but no answer.

Ordered scampi and chips, the scampi was barely warm. Delivery time stated 12:15 to 12:30 but arrived at 12:45. I had called and the lady was very helpful but the delivery was late

Always hot, decent size portions, delivered on time, crispy batter etc, could go on and on but best place for a chippy tea delivery

i requested salt and vinegar and there was none ,,the batter on the fish wasn't very good ,,over all disappointing 😕

Ordered food no problem, within a few minutes got a message to say it would be delayed !!! Delivery time started19.20-20.00 , 20.05 order status was ‘delivered’ but I hadn’t received anything. Rang shop at 20.20 to be told delivery driver had to be sourced as i lived out of their area but he would be with me shortly (why allow people to order if they live out to area? I am not familiar with Derby that well and didn’t realise. 20.25 I got a call from takeaway to say driver would be 7-8 minutes. 12 minutes later driver arrived and apologised saying he had been stuck behind an accident - no accidents showing on google maps etc between the shop and my address. Food was stone cold and by this time we had al very much gone past wanting it so it all went in the bin. I won’t be ordering from here again.
