Authentic Japanese Sushi restaurant. You can enjoy sushi, of course, as well as other Japanese food including Kobe beef!

Sushi Kanesaka offered an incredible dining experience for our 8th anniversary. The restaurant’s intimate setting and traditional Japanese decor set a perfect atmosphere. The Omakase menu was exceptional, with highlights like melt-in-your-mouth toro sushi, fresh botan ebi, and tender Kobe beef. The crispy lobster and ikura sushi were also fantastic. Service was top-notch, with the chef sharing interesting details about each dish. A great spot for a special occasion—highly recommended!

Nestled discreetly within the prestigious 45 Park Lane, Sushi Kanesaka is a culinary retreat that feels like a hidden world above the bustling city. With its understated entrance and serene ambiance, this Michelin-starred gem invites diners into a space that whispers exclusivity and authenticity. At the heart of this experience is Chef Shinji Kanesaka, whose mastery of Edomae sushi transforms dining into an art form. Standing poised behind the pristine hinoki counter, Chef Kanesaka works with meditative precision, honoring centuries-old techniques while imbuing each dish with his unmistakable touch. His commitment to the ikejime method, a traditional Japanese technique for preserving fish, ensures unparalleled flavor and quality in every bite. The food is nothing short of extraordinary. Ingredients are sourced not only from Japan’s pristine waters but also from select locales worldwide, each chosen with uncompromising care. From the melt-in-your-mouth toro to the delicately briny uni, each piece of sushi is a harmonious balance of flavor and texture, paired with perfectly seasoned rice that subtly enhances each bite. The service is impeccable, embodying omotenashi, Japan’s revered philosophy of hospitality. Every interaction feels deeply personal yet unobtrusive, and the staff’s seamless attentiveness makes the experience as warm as it is sophisticated. For those seeking an unforgettable dining experience, Sushi Kanesaka is a must-visit. It is not just a restaurant but a journey—a masterclass in Japanese tradition and culinary excellence. A world-class destination worthy of its Michelin-starred acclaim.

Brilliant outpost for the world renowned Sushi Kanesaka in Ginza, Tokyo. Outstanding quality of fish, selected from the best in the world of the season (our tuna was from Portugal) The experience leave you wanting more and is definitely a contributing factor to our impulse Japan trip booking. Even the post-meal fruit selection was of exceptional quality. We had the best mango one can imagine (and probably 10x better!!!) It is pricy but, less pricy than flights to Japan (you also won’t need to take leave or book hotels!) It’s like a little taste of Japan without the effort of long haul flights, truly the best you can get in London. Will for sure visit their original Ginza location soon.

The most disappointing among London’s über-omakases. Everything feels surprisingly chaotic considering the impeccable pedigree; the space is soulless, the team are friendly but awkward, and the food itself is solid if unmemorable. While the sushi is firmly mid-pack among its compatriots - doing nothing wrong but also nothing spectacular - the cooked items were extremely traditional and lacking in flair. Everything could do with a polish and some soul-searching to really elevate the obvious underlying quality, but at present it’s just not there. That it’s also the most expensive Japanese in London leaves one asking - why?

I'm very satisfied. The style of alternating between snacks and sushi, such as the Kobe beef steak in the middle, was refreshing. The sushi is exquisite, with the sushi falling apart in your mouth. The selection of alcoholic beverages is also great.

500 GBP PP is too overpriced for what you get. I will say Food and quality was really good. Only 3 people including us in one omakase sitting of 9 seats. Clearly no demand cause it’s far too expensive. If they were able to lower the price a little, they would be so much busier and the atmosphere would be much better.

Congrats on the perfum free policy! Not only does it spoil the true culinary experience, it´s also a very unhealthy and unpolite/ intrusive habit, to force others to smell what you like.

Excellent authentic Sushi. Definitely, the best in London now. At the counter, you can enjoy traditional service as well. Only drawback is Omakase only. Because of this, you might be able to find something new. The flagship in Tokyo has two Michelin stars.

Um. One of the greatest omekase meals I have tasted outside Japan. £420 per head without gratuity or drinks. 13 courses of divine sushi and sashimi. Service faultless. Visited SK in the Ginza in 2004. Waited 19 years for a revisit. Just delightful ...

Is really nothing extraordinary for London standards. Is not bad, but what is the price for? It is also not enough food. My wife and I went to the hotel bar after the meal and we had fries and finger food because we were still hungry. Extra praise for the sake pairing, that was done very well.

The single best omakase dining experience I've had in Europe. Service and hospitality were outstanding, and the food was mind-blowing. Definitely on par with the quality you would find on Ginza. Privacy was also a strong point, as the restaurant only has 9 spots. £500 per head may be on the pricy side, but I believe it was justified, especially if you're going on a special occasion, for which this experience should definitely be considered.

Absolutely incredible. From the first bite (Chu toro nigri) to the last (japanese fruit). Other outstanding items I was lucky enough to try in July included: Squid nigiri with caviar, octopus and the red prawn nigiri (from san remo). Judging on quality alone this place is the best sushi spot I've been to outside of Tokyo. If it wasn't for the price tag and if they had a cheaper nigiri option I'd come here a lot. Can't wait to return during the winter.

Sushi Kanesaka is incredible, authentic, world-class omakase experience. The quality of the service, ambience and most importantly the food is as good as any you will find among the multi-michelin starred sushi restaurants of Tokyo. If you want to be magically transported to Japan in the heart of Mayfair, to see what a true sushi master obsessed with his craft can do, then Sushi Kanesaka will not disappoint. Dinner here is a serious affair, where the fish is treated with reverence, and much of the dining experience takes place in near silence. The restaurant fits no more than ~10 diners at a time, all sitting facing toward the sushi bar where chef Shinji Kanesaka will prepare and present individual pieces of immaculate sushi for you, served in quick succession. As the negative reviewers below point out, it's not a low-cost dining experience... but I suspect some of them were mistakenly thinking they were going for a relaxed weeknight neighborhood sushi bar to eat shrimp tempura rolls... Nothing wrong with that, but thats not what this is, so please be aware of what you're signing up for!

If you’re looking for a place to simply lay your head during your travels, this is your place. We were placed on the 3rd floor with a view of the back of the buildings trash and construction sight. We included breakfast in our stay however there were not many options for non-pork eating people. The hotel soup smelled of stale orange breath and the shower door never closed despite putting in a work order. The air continued to automatic turn off leaving the room very muggy. Not to mention, if it’s raining and your don’t have an umbrella, you have to RENT an umbrella from the hotel. Overall, we had a place to lay our heads and a hot meal in the morning.
