Sushi Cafe in Wandsworth

While I had a great experience on my first visit to Sushi Cafe, my second was quite disappointing. The portions were smaller than before, which was a letdown. Unfortunately, I also suspect I got food poisoning from the fried oysters, as I experienced symptoms straight after the meal. Additionally, although the restaurant allows bookings up until an hour before closing, the kitchen actually closes 30 minutes earlier, which made us feel rushed. I hope the restaurant can address these issues for future visits, as their sushi and sashimi were otherwise really good.

Staff are friendly and ready to help. The atmosphere is quite loud and the tables are quite close to each other so it’s a bit hard to talk, even need to try to shout to talk. No matter what, food is still the centrepiece of a restaurant. To be frank, 80% of the food is terrible. Others are edible but not that surprisingly good. Nothing comparable to the authentic Japanese or Asian all-you-can-eat buffet standard. As you can see from the picture, the rice of the sushi roll is disproportionately more than the tuna. For other sushi, the rice is too big and sushi vinegar was not added to the sushi much. For the octopus balls, maybe I held too high expectations for them. Again, they tasted so gross as the outer layer is too think and powdery. For the fried tofu, no way, the skin is so dry and greasy. Some food is not that pleasantly presented as well. £25.8 plus 10% for all-you-can-eat buffet but it’s nearly the worst buffet experience I have ever had. This is just an honest review. If you have ever tried some nice and real good sushi, you would just find this place is terrible. I know can’t ask for too much here but can get so much better if paying the same price in Asia. Was quite full after the meal but kinda feel full of emptiness as the food is so bad.

Easily the worst sushi I've had anywhere. The quality of the food was not good, it wasn't fresh at all and the tuna was right down bad. I had booked a table in advance because it was recommended, but I didn't get a confirmation of any sort, and when we arrived the waiter did not care for my name for the reservation. Very strange The service was acceptable and the staff were friendly. The whole concept is very confusing, and you were only allowed to order a limited amount of food, which is super odd when it's called "all you can eat". Usually some items in the menu costs extra, like sashimi, but here almost 1/3 of the menu had extra cost The absolute worst part was THE SMELL. Every time the kitchen doors opened, the whole restaurant smelled like a sewer. I am not overstating! I cannot recommend this place for anybody

The establishment needs renovation, but if it happens, the prices will be raised, and the price and quality are top. I am always happy to eat here. My recommendation

The food, service and price are all amazing. You can eat good sushi and some Japanese dishes in here. Highly recommend to anyone who love sushi and Japanese food 🫶🏻

We stayed here on New Year's Eve and had a great time. The place is small but welcoming. The all you can eat formula also applies to drinks, for non-alcoholic ones the cost is 5 pounds. Every time you finish a drink the guys serving are always ready to refill your glass. The time limit from the first order (1.5 hours) may be unpleasant for us Italians but the service is smooth. In our case it was a little slow due to the many takeaway orders and the gentleman kindly removed this limit for us. We appreciated it very much. The fish was fresh and tasty. I personally tried the vegetarian dishes and they were a great discovery. The tempura roll is worth the trip.

The three round sushi buffet was really good! More than enough food, great sushi, noodles and tempura. Oyster fry is definitely worth trying. I definitely recommend this place.

A casual sushi eatery that prioritises value over quality. At £25 for all-you-can-eat, Sushi Cafe offers great value for money. While it’s not the spot for high-quality, authentic Japanese sushi, the sushi is decent, and the menu provides plenty of variety. The interior is quite basic, with a canteen-like feel, but it’s a solid choice if you’re after quantity over refinement.

Great sushi restaurant and buffet, small but cosy and fast serving food and waiters. The sushi was well prepared and evenly portioned with rice to sushi. The menu options between cold cuts, main hot meals to bites was great. We tried a range out and was never disappointed in the quality. Would recommend compared to the more central buffet options.

I rarely leave reviews,but honestly i was left speechless. The food is prepared fresh and brought to you very fast.The thing that impressed me the most is the staff.They were so nice,always filling up our glasses and they were always happy to help.At the end they even gave us free ice cream.I would definitely recommend it and please leave the staff a tip the service is immaculate!!

This is a fantastic sushi restaurant!! The value is astonishing! Everyone who works here is so friendly and helplful and the food is totally delicious. We love it here and go whenever we can. You can eat a la carte or attempt the evening buffet. Either way you'll leave very happy and want to be straight back. There's honestly nowhere like this anywhere else in London! It's an absolute gem! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY recommended!

Good food and really good lunch deal! The chirashi was fresh and delicious. You get fish roe, raw salmon, smoked salmon, tuna, squid, and clam. The meat amount balances with the rice. However, I did find miso soup a bit too salty. The oyster fry was nice and crispy. We went for Thursday lunch and the service was quick. The staff spent time to explain the menu and patient with our indecisive 😂 There are so many options!

Delicious salmon sashimi, one of the best I ever had

It is a great place for sushi. The food is great quality. The best to do is to go for lunch during weekdays as they have a great saver menu. Also, if you feel hungry, the all you can eat menu is amazing.

It's the second time that my friends and I have gone to this place. On both occasions we have chosen the "All you can eat" menu. The food was okay, I would recommend the Takoyakis, always a must! The waiters were kind and helpful.

My favourite restaurant! The buffet is really worth the price and there is a wide selection to choose from. The sushi is always fresh and tasty, it even comes hot sometimes. There is also now a drinks buffet which I do not think it is worth it but it is if you like to drink alcoholic drinks. There should be some more dessert options in the buffet menu and extra price shouldn't really included but I can never even eat anything else after the delicious buffet but I think it would be nice if there was something sweet. The staff are ALWAYS so friendly with me and everyone I bring along. There is a food wastage charge but that is if you really waste food, try to search for images online of the food on the menu before ordering to avoid disappoint and wastage. Service charge is worth it because they are so friendly and welcoming. You have to pre book as it can get busy but if a week day could be ok just to pop in.

It was very nice restaurant. Good price for the buffet. Food arrived very quickly, very fresh and delicious. When you order a green tea they refill every time you finish. I will definitely recommend this restaurant.

Service was not very welcoming. You have 1h30 to eat and as soon as you sit down you start counting the time, it feels like a race. Dishes are not delivered as quickly. It's not exactly all you can eat because there are a lot of rules and limits.

The "buffet" here comes with a twist, so pay close attention to the rules! The sushi and rolls were a letdown. They're definitely more focused on filling you up than flavour as the rice part was huge. That's not what sushi is about. Choices are slim for sashimi unless you're willing to pay extra. To top it off, our second round arrived with lukewarm rice – a major turnoff. The hot dishes fell into the same trap. Same ingredients, different sauces – like a culinary game of "spot the difference." It created the illusion of variety, but everything ended up tasting dull and repetitive. We left confused about what we even ate! Many things were obviously frozen food. The positive was the friendly and attentive service. For £26pp, I felt like I was there to stuff myself rather than enjoy a meal. But there are plenty of cheaper alternatives if my only desire was to get full. My friend wanted to give this place a go, and we all agreed we will never return.

All you can eat like a king! You can order whatever you want and best of all unlimited drinks with the £5 option. Friendly and helpful staff. Normal environment. Very clean bathrooms.

Excellent Japanese Food ! High quality food , very fresh and very tasty! This place is a hidden gem 💎! From the moment we entered the italian waitress was very friendly and she was very fast and helpful to anything that we needed. The 25£ offer for unlimited food is honestly great . Octopus sushi 🍣 was unexpected but so fresh and so tasty ! My favourite would be the pork katsu and so many others ! I would highly recommend this place and I can’t wait to go back. Just the atmosphere is very loud but it doesn’t ruin the experience

The food was decent ( not very incredibly but also not horrible) the one thing I would really suggest is the mix tempura which was was very good with the tempura sauce, but not really all you can eat when 10 persent of the food is needed to pay.

Claims to be “Japanese fine dining” but really it’s poor food and service. And yes I know it’s an all you can eat but the food must reach an acceptable level.

Best all you can eat sushi in London! The quality and portion sizes are fantastic and you are not constrained to lots and lots of rules and restrictions like other places. They also have a fantastic bottomless alcohol (beer/wine) option you can add with you sushi buffet for inly £10 extra.

My partner and I went here for dinner and were blown away by the kind and attentive service and great food! They don't skimp on the toppings and fillings of their sushi. The hot items on the menu were great too. Absolutely loved the pumpkin korokke (croquette), oyster tempura, and takoyaki. It says three rounds but each round 1 person can order up to 6 items, and it's really A LOT of food. When we went it was £25 per head, but they have a £3 Off summer promo. The drinks can also be unlimited for £4.99 which I think is totally worth it, they are absolutely on it when refilling your drink. The moment its empty they'll come to refill it right away before you even ask! I really liked the apple juice and the tea, helps with the digestion. It was a fantastic meal and amazing value for money. Will absolutely come back and recommend this place to all of our friends!

Yummy Sushi and crunch tempura, great value all you can eat!

The staff and the owner were not only very kind but also efficient. I believe it was the most effective communication I experienced in any restaurant across Europe. You can order up to six dishes at once, as much as you like. The food arrives in less than five minutes. The quality of the food was average to good, though not exceptional. The sushi wasn't the freshest, but the rice-to-fish ratio was good, similar to that served in Japan or Korea. It was much better than high street sushi, which often has dried rice with just a touch of fish. The oysters are worth ordering multiple times. The temaki was enormous but still flavourful. I wouldn't recommend travelling far to try this food, but if you're hungry and looking for a good all-you-can-eat selection with your mates over a beer, definitely give it a go and decide for yourself.

Came to dine in, one of us had the all you can eat. One of us is vegetarian and there was a large selection. Food was great - fresh, delicious, authentic - prices reasonable for the portions, and we were really impressed with the staff. They were really on the ball. We came on a Wednesday evening, didn't have to wait for a table and food waiting times were quick. Have ordered takeaway from here before and would highly recommend!

We get takeaway salmon sushi from here at least once a week. Always the same order, and it is always top quality. And a big shout out to the man and the woman who usually deliver, as they are absolutely lovely!

Great service and would go again Went in a group of 6. We were initially worried about the 18 order limit per person but didnt make it to round 3 so 12 orders used each basically and I went with some big eaters. Food was great and fried food was piping hot so do let it cool down.

We went for the second time last night for my boyfriend’s birthday with some friends. This place is amazing, the staff is so nice as well they played the happy birthday song and came out with the cake I brought, it was so kind!! The food is amazing, we came out so full, we never made it to the 3rd round. Everything is super fresh and the tempura is to die for! If I could I would give them more than 5 stars! Thank you guys it was such an amazing night!

So worth the money! Myself and my friend didn't order anything from the menu that came with an extra charge and there was so much to choose from. You get so much food and its all fresh and tasted so nice! We both left with our tummy's very full! Definitely recommend this place!

Great service received, all you can eat sushi (plus many other dishes) generous amount you can order per round per person, fair terms in my opinion on charge for wastage, timing and amounts. I enjoyed that there were options to pay extra for the items I do love when I have sushi. We made it through 2 rounds before we got too full! It's 3 rounds in 1.5hrs, max 6 options per person per round. Very good value. All you can drink alcoholic or non-alcoholic drinks for an additional price too!! Definitely would go back !

Been there 3 times now and we travel 2 hours each way just for it. Food is good quality and great value on the buffet, 3 rounds but we’ve been too stuffed after 2 to make the 3rd. They now do an unlimited drinks add on which makes it even better for us. There’s a huge variety on the menu and not many of them have an add on charge which is nice. You can also order multiples of the same dish which other places haven’t allowed to in the past. Staff are incredibly attentive as well, and they’ll remove things from the food if you don’t like it. For example we took the avocado out the temaki as we aren’t fans.

We really enjoyed this casual cafe, the food was tasty and fresh and the service quick and friendly. The buffet menu was extensive with enough choices for vegetarians. We all have healthy appetites and went with empty stomachs and were still full without even ordering all the dishes we could have. We will defiantly be back again.

All you can eat and dirnk is a good deal but the sushi is very average and they rush you so you don't even have time for all 3 rounds.

In this era of rising prices for everything, it is really not easy to find an all-you-can-eat sushi restaurant at a reasonable price. . Although there are no exquisite decorations, the taste is outstanding.

Average experience. The sashimi was very limited to each person. Lots of rice on the sushi rolls. There is definitely a lot better all you can eat sushi restaurants. But this was okay for the value, nothing special.

First time visiting this Sushi Cafe. Brilliant service excellent. The servers greeted our group of four and walked us through the menu. Explained our options in detail. It is a eat as much as you like buffet. All the different sushi were excellent other options included in the price.You have three times to choose your options to eat so lots of things to try. You are given a time limit at the table as we had booked our table they did not rush us we spent 2hours and 15mins so time to eat and drink and enjoy the company.Drinks not included but not expensive any way. Please bear in mind they will charge for wastage of food. Cost of the buffet is £28.50 but well worth it Our group filled our bellies. Once again excellent food and service.

Total bill came to something like £97 for 2 people, honestly for that price you could have a much tastier meal at somewhere like sticks and sushi that overall just has a better atmosphere as well. Went for my girlfriends birthday as we saw a TikTok video about it, believe me it doesn’t live up to the hype. Nigiri is mostly rice and the sushi itself is mostly rice with little filling, fried squid tasted like something you would find in Costco. Just to clarify, it wasn’t TERRIBLE, it just wasn’t worth the amount I paid, also note that the service charge is compulsory. But if you like the idea of quantity over quality then definitely come here, I can see it being great spot for buffet fanatics

Disappointing sushi experience. Sushi is quite large (contains a lot of rice, little content) and roughly cut. Taste is okay, but not special. Because it contains so much rice and the portions are large, you don't have the opportunity to try different sushis. In my view, the price-quality ratio is incorrect. There is an all-you-can-drink option (alcohol and non-alcohol). An additional charge applies to various products. For the amount spent, I ate tastier and better food. Unfortunately, after eating on this occasion, I suffered from stomach complaints. Not another sushi café for me.

Came here with my family for the bottomless sushi. It was quite busy for a Monday evening which was a good sign. There was quite a large selection of food - additional charges are added for more premium cuts of sushi and sashimi is limited which was disappointing. There was a plate of one singular slice pork belly which was quite laughable however it did taste nice despite the look. Overall, the sushi was good and fresh, the side plates were lovely and hot so would recommend the bottomless sushi.

It’s what you would expect to be honest. The food isn’t out of this world but it’s definitely good enough for an all you can eat. Some items we got wasn’t exactly what we thought such as the tomago nigiri ( we thought there would be more egg ) and the miso soup ( was very salty and a strange after taste) however everything else was pretty good! If I have any advice for anyone going it would be, be careful on the rice ! It feels you up fast. I’d definitely recommend

This is a very good value restaurant if you’re a big eater. The all you can eat honestly is excellent. Between us we barely made it to the third round of your allotted portions. The rules are good for keeping waste down and we had plenty to eat. Do not order all rolls on your first round or you’ll never get to your second as they’re so large. The nigiri was great quality, the tempura was delicious and crispy, the ramen and noodles were great too. I only wish my stomach had more room. I also got the all you can drink booze for under £10 - for several beers and some sake that’s super cheap for London. My only gripe is that so many options cost extra on top of the set price. Yellowtail is my favourite and having to pay £2 for every portion is super frustrating. Recommend: prawn tempura, tonkotsu ramen, bao, karage chicken, salmon nigiri, yellowtail and California roll. Don’t recommend: prawn toast, pork belly, fried salmon roll.

How this place has ANY reviews less than 5 stars is beyond me. We went in for a 'all you can eat' lunch. The food was terrific quality, the service was fantastic and we could only manage two thirds of the full option for 'all you can eat'. I'm now at home, laid on my sofa and on the brink of a trip to A&E for internal organ damage due to my distended stomach. Amazing.

Good food, great value, top service!

Everything was super good, the waiters were super attentive, the food was very good in the 2nd round, we couldn't do it anymore, everything was delicious and clean.

The food here is very high quality - the staff are friendly and attentive too. Not the most glamorous interior but don't let that put you off! It's a comfortable and fun place to go, excellent value for money, and it's no surprise its often busy.

Very disappointed overall . The price first and the food. Firstly , they overcharge for the buffet menu it's not what the website says and also there is a service charge on the top. Most of the food on the list has an additional price to pay so it's not worth it at all as only 1h 30 minutes . Even desserts on the buffet menu is charged extra . None of the desserts were included. I won't go again

The staffs who serve the food were kind and helpful to explain the rule for the buffet. The foods were okay. The rolls and temaki have too much rice and the miso soup was bit salty. Nevertheless, we could not even finish the third round of the buffet because it was too much. Overall I would recommend those whom want to eat large portions of sashimi and sushi, I would recommend the place.

They provided many choices in there buffet and all the foods taste good. There price is cheaper than most of the Japanese restaurant & buffet and they didn't include any service charge in there payment.

All you can eat menu was great, really good service, answered all our questions. All of the rules about the buffet made complete sense. Would recommend having a look at the menu beforehand just so you don’t get lost in the large menu. Very reasonably priced and delicious.
