3 of us went for tea. We waited at the bar to be shown to a table, and very eventually one of the staff realised we were there. Thre was only one table occupied, so we wee shown to the one next to them. Mm. So ... We sat somewhere else. Eventually a waitress came to take our order. We also said we wanted a cake, so told to choose. Very difficult to choose when there is no one to take your order. I had fresh mint tea. I have never had one with only 1 scraggy bit of mint. A quite appaling experience and we definitely will not be returning. Quite disgraceful.

The food was delicious. The sirlon steak was amazing!!! The service was friendly. I had a very nice time!!!😊😊😊

This had always been a good branch of the chain but our last couple of visits had disappointed and I think we’ve visited for the last time. Friendly staff can’t offset poor food and whilst the lasagna is always a reliable choice the pork sausage pasta was bland, with lukewarm stuck together pasta. The passion fruit meringue dessert was inedible and whilst it was taken off the bill our memento of the evening is a receipt that says “cream off” next to the refunded dessert.

Having had a very poor experience a few months ago with a breakfast meeting, I thought I owed it one more chance. A mistake. We should have taken note that there were very few people in the restaurant (this place used to be really busy, even early morning). So breakfast with a colleague this morning in the restaurant was simply dreadful. It began with a waitress who seemed unable to understand the request for two 4 minute, soft boiled eggs. Granted that they were not on the menu but poached eggs were. The waitress said she would check and returned to say that they could only do seven minutes? At that point we gave up on the boiled eggs and my colleague chose the same as me. Poached eggs with avocado on toast. The dishes arrived. The poached eggs had clearly not been drained properly as the bread was sodden and tasted of vinegar water. The waitress was asked by my colleague for some other toasted bread with butter. An untoasted slice of bread with no butter duly followed! The waitresses spent the entire time we were there chatting to themselves by one of the tills. Three requests for the bill finally resulted in it arriving. This chain is in serious risk of heading in the same direction as one of its notable competitors. It used to be dependable with informed and engaging personnel but appears to have been in steep decline for some time.

We've used this lovely looking restaurant many times and I recently posted a good review. Not this time. For the second time at a Carluccio's we were presented with a bottle of wine already opened away from the table - a practice that's totally wrong, for obvious reasons. On arrival we'd shown our server our 'second main course for £1' voucher, saving us £14.50. When our bill arrived there was no sign of this. I wonder why? Our server then told us that Carluccio's now impose a 12.5% service charge. We'd normally leave this anyway if we had good service, but tips should be at the customer's discretion, not the restaurant's. We paid in cash, then waited ten minutes for our £5.50 change. Again, I wonder why? I'm afraid the result of all this is we'll no longer be using this or any other branch of Carluccio's.

My daughter's favourite eating place, and when you're in the mood for pasta, Italian good cheer, nice wine and a place that lets you be, with friendly, attentive and courteous service then Carluccio's is keeping the great man's name in the way he would want to be remembered. Wasn't very impressed with this restaurant. It lacked atmosphere was very noisy and the service was very slow (apart from when we asked for the bill and that came immediately!) The food wasn't that great I have had a lot better (and for less cost). The starter lacked flavour. The main was warm and needed an accompaniment i.e. sauce or jus or something like that. The portion sizes varied from plate to plate even though they were the same dish Won't be going back any time soon

Location is nice, a few minutes walk from Liberpool str. st. staff is kind and quick, but the quality of food was quite poor. I had a chicken milanese deeply fried although it was almost raw inside. olives were soft, not fragrant. A glass of a jammy (too soft) merlot, completed my experience.

There's a nice light and fresh feel about the interior of this branch of Carluccio's and it was certainly a warm and welcoming place to come for lunch after a morning's sightseeing on a bitterly cold November day. Our server managed our big table really well, despite having to squeeze round other tables to get to us in the corner. The food is above average Italian cuisine, served in big portions. I started with a large bowl of mushroom soup and had beef ragu linguine for my main. Both were tasty and well prepared and I know it's silly, but the lovely crockery they serve the dishes in just seems to add a little extra pizzazz to the eating experience. Prices are very reasonable. My two courses off the set menu were only £12.95 for more food than I should have eaten! It's close to Liverpool Street Station and lots of bus routes, so public transport access is excellent. A fun and enjoyable experience.

Went here today with my friend Kathryn for a birthday lunch. Could not fault them. I informed them at booking about my onion allergy and they were on top of it as soon as we arrived. Food was lovely, so was the wine. Service was wonderful. Our waitress was called Sylvia and she was so lovely, helpful and very friendly and efficient. I can understand now why she has been working there for quite a few years. She is a credit to Carluccios. Freddie, the asst manager, was also very nice and friendly and very helpful. I have been there lots of times and will continue to visit.

Came across this by chance just outside Old Spitalfield Market. Very reasonable for London. £12.95 for 2 courses plus a little extra for dessert. Good sized portions and a nice wine to go with it. Very attentive service too.

Very good selection of food with several options not always found in an Italian restaurant. The service was good if a little pushy. The food did take a bit of time to arrive but was worth the wait. The wine was recommended by the waiter and it was a good choice despite being one of the cheaper options.

I have had a very nice evening at Carluccio's Spitafields on Wednesday. The food was cooked to a good standard, tasty and well presented. The staff was pleasant and helpful. The interior is very tasteful and appealing with open kitchen and cosy feel. It is probably the best Carluccio's I have been to and I have been in several restaurants of the same chain. I will definitively be back if I am in the area.

The old Carluccio's has been upgraded, with a new interior and better exterior, The food is still very good, but my breakfast toast was dry and hard, which is a shame, but good scambled egg and pancetta. Very good coffee, nice atmosphere and a decent if unadventurous menu. Fairly informal with some great Italian pastries. The sort of place for an informal lunch or dinner, coffee, etc. Well suited to Spitalfields.

Went to buy a takeaway but even though I was there for nearly 10 minutes and at least 3-4 waiters noticed me, none of them actually acknowledged me, or told me 'I'll be with you in a moment' or similar. In the end I left and got my takeaway pasta elsewhere.

Went for a quick meal, did not disappoint, good eating area both in and out, reasonable prices very good service and food very good as expected, would recomend highly for lunch.

Wherever you go to a Carluccio's restaurant you can be sure of good food. We were not disappointed. The restaurant was not too busy for early Saturday evening and we were seated in a quieter place. The waitress was very helpful. However I was disappointed to be told that they had no Amaretto left to pour over my ice cream - in an Italian restaurant!! Great food and fab desserts!

We have been at Carluccio's three times in three years and always found it very nice. The staff is really friendly and helpful. The food is Italian, tasty and generous servings at very reasonable price. The menu is simple but with ample choice ranging from pizza and pasta to steak.Highly recommended.

Never disappointing Carluccio's. I went to that one couple of weeks ago. Was served by Marta who showed great knowledge of product and big patience towards tipsy customers. We asked for some food modifications, nothing was too much trouble. Everything was delicious and up to our needs (my friend got diabetes). I absolutely love Carluccio's food but i've been here for a pizza and i couldn't really eat it as it was like a Tesco pizza. I think they should remove it from their menu. I made a complain to the manager who told me that unfortunately they don't make the pizza in there so it means it's coming from somewhere else and probably the base is also froZen. Will never go again for a pizza. Yes for the rest of the food.

It used to be lovely. Has been 'refurbished' and lost its smart, open, light, classy ambiance. It now looks rather dingy.The food has gone up in price and become rather weird, so I opted for the 'safe' option of lasagne. It came in a stupid square frying pan which meant the edges are burnt and you can’t get into the blinking thing. I eventually managed to tip it onto my plate without too much mess, only to find the filling had lots of carrots! I love carrots, but not chopped into little pieces as a substitute for meat in a lasagne.Forget this restaurant and go to one of their other branches.

The restaurant is large, bright, modern and spacious with plenty of comfortable seating. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. My main course of duck, beef and pasta in a Bolognese sauce was both filling and cooked to perfection. All of the desserts on display also looked fresh and appetising. My latte was smooth and creamy and my glass of Prosecco was crisp and refreshing. Some food and drink items could be purchased to take away. Seating is available outside the building at the front. The only criticism was that the cubicle in the men's toilet was out of order as was the accessible toilet and given that I noticed two diners who were wheelchair users, this was acceptable. However, the excellent food and service still gets my vote and I will not hesitate to return again.

Me and my other half were in the neighbourhood on a Saturday afternoon and stumbled on this lovely place with even lovelier little terrace. It was very sunny day but we were lucky to find a table in the terrace even though the restaurant was quite busy.Very friendly and smiley waitress – Joana efficiently was looking after all the terrace guests so in no time we were served. We both had Abruzzese Salad. I’ve been few times in different Carluccio’s branches but never have seen this salad on any of the menus. What a shame! Salad was fresh and full of flavours – just perfect! I think it should be a permanent position in menu of all branches.

Nella zona degli Spitalfields market, siamo stati attratti da questo ristorantino con cucina italiana. Pizza ampiamente al di là delle aspettative di Londra, saporita e con mozzarella di bufala pur essendo margherita e un ottimo patè di tonno. Lati positivi: ampia scelta di piatti italiani realizzati con cura; lati negativi: non economicissimo, ma comunque da provare!

We had breakfast, lunch and dinner at Carluccio's and we had the opportunity to taste several different offers. The place has been recently refurbished and is both a restaurant and a deli. Food quality is very good and the offer of options is wide, but not so much, showing credibility (I'm always diffident when I see super extended menu). I appreciated a lot their focaccia, may be one of the best in town (...and I'm from Genoa). Pasta is al dente as it should be. Arancini are great. I like also they grilled chicken and their dessert are superb (they have the biggest meringa I ever saw). Expresso is jolly good, albeit, the hand, of the waiter can really make the difference there. The price is OK, nothing more is cheap in central London, but here you have a very good cost quality value. Personnel is very kind and everything run smoothly showing very good supervision. Centainly one of my preferred places around Spitafield market.

I never give up really on a chain restaurants. Sometimes it might be a problem in a particular brunch not the whole chain. But unfortunately this is not the case. I've been now three times in different Carluccio's restaurants in 5 years. The last visit most likely was really the last one. I came here with a friend after late after work drinks - we were starving, so didn't really walk around to look for places. We took a starter - some deep fried calamari with aioli - they were all soggy and chewy - not as they supposed to be. And then I had a risotto for main - the amount of pepper was in there - my mouth was on fire, also my friends chicken was so dry - we couldn't even finish our plates, and left still hungry - as it wasn't good at all. It's a shame - as such a simple dishes shouldn't really go wrong in an 'authentic Italian' place.

Good quality ingredients, well prepared dishes and attentive service. Take-away option is also available. It gets quite busy during the City's lunch breaks.
