First visit to this popular Italian in Northcote Road. Three course family meal. Very pleasant

I had a Saturday dinner here before they went for refurbishment. The food was really good especially the zucchini fries and the tiramisu but everything was above average. We had their tagliata di manzo and a pasta both were good. It’s though a bit pricier than all the other restaurants on Northcote and you must make a reservation as it can come up to an hour of wait.

Horrible, leaves a lot to be desired.

We were shown to a table tight at the back of the restaurant, which I wouldn’t recommend but we booked late so we were very pleased they fitted us in. We were left sitting at the table for over 20 mins, no one came to give us any menus or offer us any drinks. We left and went to the Italian restaurant opposite, where we were seated at a much nicer table, were served quickly and had a very good meal.

We loved it here! Nice atmosphere, great food, friendly service and good value. My partner had the wild boar raging which was absolutely delicious. I had the crab linguini which was fresh and summery. Checked all our boxes and we’d definitely go back.

Food was awful. Had a steak. It was tasteless, fatty and dry. Service wasn't great. I beg to differ over the positive reviews this place has because our experience was dreadful and a waste of money!

Busy, charming, long-established restaurant serving good quality food. Service a little haphazard - starter and mains arrived almost at the same time and one drink was forgotten.

We were visiting London and meeting family and friends for dinner. Food was excellent. I had risotto with prawns, for desert - pannacotta and it was the best I ever had, light like a feather. My husband had a veal chop which was very tender and tasty. Service was very good, we were greeted on the door step and all staff was very helpful and attentive. Service is obviously improved from previous reviews.

Such a great neighbourhood restaurant! My Linguine alle vongole was perfect. The front section can be a bit noisy (depending on other diners!) but it was nicely calm in the rear section.

The open front/outside seating was lovely for a sunny lunchtime - airy but not in full glaring sunshine. The staff were attentive but not intrusive, and the food was delicious.

Great place ! The waitress , if im not wrong , Giada was her name , was incredible. We felt like home thanks to her and was by far the best attention we had in our month in London . Thank you and thanks Giada 🙂.

Osteria Antica Bologna is a firm local favourite of ours. It is easily the best Italian restaurant around Northcote. Food is always delicious and the service is attentive and friendly. As always, it never disappoints.

Excellent- good service and tip top fare We dined al fresco, balmy atmosphere with some chilled Italian rosé to complement the cod. Delicious.

Osteria Antica Bologna never lets you down. The menu may be much the same every time we visit, but the food is delicious and excellent value. The set lunch menu is a very welcome option, with attentive, helpful staff.

It was my daughter's special 16th birthday. When I booked online, there was an option to select a special celebration in which I wrote about my daughter's birthday. I would've given 5 stars as the food was lovely, but I expected a little recognition for her birthday with at least a candle to make it special for her. I was really disappointed.

Have been coming here for many years, always great food and service. I booked for myself and mum today as it is 5 years since my father passed away. Fantastic experience, wonderful service and great food as usual. Will be visiting again soon 😁

It was a while since I had lunch at Osteria and what to say : excellent, they never disappoint ! Fresh products cooked in a delicious manner. Pure gem in Clapham and in London. Business lunch set to me best value for money around whole London. Highly suggested ! Good appetite everyone

Always good food there. Made a request for a corner table as was using crutches which they accommodated.

Staff are considerate but we were seated near some noisy diners. As older women we don’t appreciate the shrieks of younger people! Food was mixed -starter was delicious and my friends enjoyed their chocolate dessert. I thought the pasta dish involving tagliatelle and peas was too rich. My friends loved it! We will return.

A wonderful place to which I return as often as possible - great food and atmosphere and helpful pleasant service. My only slight criticism is the noise level- in such a popular place,with no soft furnishings to damped sound, it can be quite loud. Also, although not a problem for me, I notice there are no dishes for vegetarians.

We celebrated a birthday with a large group at Osteria Antica Bologna on April 27th and had an outstanding experience. The service was top-notch - our server did an excellent job taking care of our big party, making sure everything was timely and we had all that we needed. The food was absolutely delicious and authentic Italian. At first glance, the portions looked on the smaller side, but everything was so fresh, flavorful and satisfying that we all left feeling happily full. Save room for dessert, because they are divine! Overall, I would strongly recommend Osteria Antica Bologna for anyone seeking a true Italian dining experience in London. It's a wonderful spot for a celebratory meal or special occasion. We will definitely be back!

The food was good and staff were friendly. We were rushed off our table as they were fully booked and needed it for the next customer. Aside from that part it was a nice dinner experience.

Fantastic place, great service and a very good value-for-money set lunch! The food is absolutely scrumptious. I had goats cheese and beetroot starter and chicken paillard main and absolutely enjoyed every bite. Will definitely be back for more.

Very good local Italian, food freshly made, good service and great value for money

Although the service was, as usual great, the food was somewhat disappointing and not as good as it has been. Underwhelming, undercooked and watery risotto - it was not as if we were in a hurry and demanded undercooked food.

A favourite restaurant 20 years ago. Booked a table for supper as in the area. It didn't disappoint, still wonderful! Delicious food - I had the special Monk fish of the day which was truly delicious! Attentive service. Overall fab!

This place used to be amazing and my local go to place but I now won't go back. I took a client and was so embarrassed by the experience. The waiting staff/ kitchen comms were off. We hadn't finished our starters when my client's plate was whisked away, without asking, and our mains arrived without any gap between the 2 courses. We aren't slow eaters so it was surprising and we felt like we were on a conveyor belt to get in, get out fast. The food was really over salted, so all in all, sadly, won't be returning.

Excellent food and service. Very professionally run. The tables are a bit small and close together, so it might feel crowded if full, but that was not the case on this weekday lunch so it was quite pleasant for chatting. Good value on the lunch pixe fixe menu.

I've been to Osteria Antica Bologna twice now and have been very impressed with my meals and service. As a local, it's very nice to have a great restaurant within walking distance to impress visitors with! As the venue is small and normally packed (understandably) it may not be the best dinner environment to those who are not okay with speaking a bit louder. BUT I absolutely love this restaurant, it's always a treat to eat here.

Having lived locally for 33 years and now moved away, it is always good to come back to Osteria when in South West London and to find the same welcome, the same standard of food and the same good, old fashioned, proper Italian cooking. No wonder it was busy early on a Tuesday at lunchtime. Enjoyed as always and will of course come back. Thank you.

Overly salted food, which was a shame as I’ve eaten there before and it was ok then. The rocket salad was particularly over salted. Front of house comms with kitchen could be better - our mains arrived before we’d finished our starters and we weren’t slow eaters. Also our plates were taken away before we’d finished and we weren’t asked if we had finished.

We had a birthday celebration for seven people and had the best experience. Couldn’t fault anything. And the atmosphere was wonderful. A truly authentic Italian eatery

I normally love Osteria Antica Bologna. Dined on a Tuesday night and was pleasantly surprised to find the restaurant packed. We were given a rubbish table, right around the corner up the back by the stairs to the loo. Also, had a very loud table behind us, so wasn't the best. Food was good, but not outstanding on this occasion. And the wine was very average. My fault obviously, not on the restaurant. I adore this restaurant so will return again, but hope for a better experience next time.

Nice food, the decor was lacking but food made up for it. Friday night was very busy and the area towards the back was a bit like sitting in a corridor. But people vote with there feet and it was popular.

I've been a loyal customer of this restaurant for its delicious cuisine, cozy atmosphere, and welcoming vibe. However, during my recent visit on a Saturday evening with friends, the experience was marred by the manager's unfriendly demeanor, rudeness, and haste in taking our orders. It was disheartening to witness his unpleasant behavior towards his colleagues, which doesn't align with the true essence of the restaurant. While I still adore the food, a change in management is necessary for me to consider returning
