Great curry - highly recommend the Zale Zule

Unfortunately the takeaway portions were unreasonably small for the prices charged. I was hoping for better considering the reviews :( (lighter for size comparison)

We had a delivery for a family party from Suruchi. Six dishes, 4 chicken and two prawn. The food was amazing. Everyone loved it. It was totally delicious and very reasonably priced. The delivery time I requested arrived perfectly on time. I couldn't have been more satisfied and well fed! They have always been great and I'm so glad Suruchi is still in the local area. Outstanding food. Thank you.

Always had good food and good service

I have been going to this restaurant almost every week for several years. I enjoy their food and I can take my own wine which I enjoy. However, be aware they have now moved about 450m away to another location where you can continue to enjoy their food. You can search online for their new adddress and there is a large notice on the window at this old address giving the new location. About 12 to 15 minutes walk away.

Ordered using Deliveroo. Worst Food I've ever had. Dosa had stale vegetables. Chutney was really bad. Sev puri had curd in it & that curd had very pungent smell to it, taste was worse. Sev Puri was dissolved in the curd. I have never thrown this much amount of food before.

So its hard to find a good curry house, but this place is fab came here nye in a group of 7, ordered lots, its byob and then it still only came to like £20 each. Thoroughly enjoyed the food and we liked it so much, we ordered it as takeaway on sunday <3 defo recomend, lovely service too... the lamb dansak is yummmm and so is murg makhani (butter chicken) xxxx

The food was nice BUT we went for the banquet night which should have been 15 pounds each for two people we got two extra poppadoms and I got a coke now according to our receipt the food and drinks cost us £51.80p now I've just been on the website and added it all up and it only come to £44 pound if it was a banquet night it should have only been £30 ur not telling me that the coke cost £10 talk about daylight robbery

We had a really disappointing meal here. The waiter weirdly decided what we would be having and started writing it down only for us to have to correct him and tell him what we actually wanted. The food felt really cheap and low quality. I would avoid this spot.

I like a traditional curry house. This place looks the part but was awful. Poppodoms were soft. Replaced by waiter with even softer ones. Chapati was hard. Meat was tough. Even the basics were all wrong

The food is absolutely amazing and this restaurant is a regular spot for the family. High quality dishes with excellent customer service which i thoroughly enjoy each time. Great portion sizes and the starters are divine. A must try restaurant in London, not one to miss!

Firstly |I need to tell you that they have moved about 400m to the south. Everything has moved to the new address. Still the same menu and special deal on Tuesday evening and you can still bring your own wine. Ttoo.hey also have an AC unit in the ceiling Come and check it out.

Best Tikka Masala in London. Consistently loved our meals from here. Always greeted with a smile. Great prices too. We used to live next to Suruchi and it became a staple in our diet, a weekly go to. Having moved abroad since we literally crave Suruchi regularly. One of London’s true gems. Thanks for our lovely meals!

The interior is clean and the person serving is a pleasant man. The salted lassi was good. That's where the good things end. I am from Mumbai and when I was presented with Dahi-puri after ordering sev-puri, and confidently told that this is what sev-puri is, I was annoyed. Never mind, I thought and I will have that anyway. The puri (fried wheat ball) reeked of stale oil. I can still feel it in my throat! Had to return it and wasn't charged of course for that. I also ordered rava (Semolina) dosa which turned out to be uttappam with a very spicy mix veg on the side. My partner had tandoori chicken starter which was bright red in colour with non specific taste. Shame really after reading lots of good reviews here. Of course, those who enjoy can carry on but for those who were born in India, the food is nowhere Indian and cheap quality at that.

We have been ordering Indian delivery from Suruchi for over two years and it is always great quality, fresh and hot when it arrives. It is excellent value for money and generous sized portions. Fantastic food from a humble local restaurant with their own personal delivery service.

Food is extremely great. We request in alot or we gather. We can't see ourselves eating inside the café. It's not the staff the staff are great it's simply the energy of the eatery it's self. There's no consideration regarding the stylistic theme of the spot. The green dividers I just can't. I wish they invested a little energy in patching up the spot up get more individuals coming in and really staying there to eat not simply setting there sitting tight for their important point to be prepared. I would rate this place higher however the stylistic theme is simply letting it down for me

Another favourite local spot. I can’t get enough of the chicken Korma and the Nan pershwana. For anyone looking for traditional Indian, this is the place to order from.

We just moved close by and tried this based on the reviews - it was amazing! So happy to have this restaurant close by and we will definitely be ordering again. I had the non vegetarian thali which was amazing value and every bite was delicious - the Rogan josh was my favourite.

Firstly compliments to the chef’s lovely food and well priced I got it directly from there website every thing was delicious also I was pleasantly surprised by the complimentary dips best curry I have had since I lived in east London and that was in 2012 I moved here will be ordering from here again in the near future or popping in for meal thanks again

I’ll give this is 3+ rating - in other words 3.5 if it were possible to do that scoring on the review system. This is a reasonable quality, local Indian restaurant of the type which used to be ten a penny in London but now are far rarer. We ate on a hot hot summer’s evening. The restaurant had a lick of paint during the lockdown. The staff (culturally from southern India, I believe) were keen and helpful for our group of six. There is a fairly large range of standard restaurant Indian dishes such as biryani, mixed grills, aloos, dals, etc. Due to the southern Indian / Hindi influence you’ll be pleased to know that vegetarian dishes feature strongly that this restaurant, if you don’t want to eat meat. I shared a mixed grill and a special biryani. The quality was reasonably good well presented with as far as I could tell good quality ingredients. Recommended and certainly good value for money. It doesn’t launch any rockets in terms of haute cuisine but it certainly fills a particular niche very well.

The worst place I've ever been. I'm Indian. I know what good dosa is. They don't even understand what it is. Putting cheese inside a normal dosa is unacceptable. It's a vegan dish. Yet the served it with cheese. So expensive too. When i collected it they looked like they didn't have a clue. No serving daal or chutneys. Food looked like it was swept off the floor. AVOID.

Ordered food from here on deliveroo. Awful. Some of the starters were sweeter than desserts. Really terrible indian food. I'm south indianand made the mistake of ordering dosas from here, whcih tasted like cheese, plus sambar was sweet. Insanity! I think i've never left an online review before, but this was so bad it needed reviewing. Got a refund via deliveroo in the end, so higher rating

I have been to many restaurants but Suruchi hits the spot with their flavoursome dishes and overall brilliance. The street food, starters and main dishes were mindblowingly brilliant to my taste buds. Moreover, it was obvious through the presentation that so much love and care was put into the dishes. This is my new local Indian restaurant ! Great deal on the Tuesday

We used to live locally & were regulars in there when it first opened in the late 1980's. We decided to go back there this week as they were well known for their vegetarian food. The logo & menu are the same & the interior hasn't changed much, although it didn't look like you could now dine al fresco. The exterior should have warned us that all was not as it used to be with gaudy posters with offers over the windows & an A board outside. The Paper Dosa main course was virtually inedible, the wrap should be crispy, this was rubbery, the filling was over spiced & it was tepid when it arrived. As the starter had been non-descript & a customer was talking so loudly my husband & I couldn't hear each other speak, we decided to pay the bill & leave. What should have been a pleasant trip down Memory Lane turned into a disaster & sadly we won't be returning.

This is a hidden gem in MildMay with an outside garden - amazing al fresco in the summer & with a roof & heaters if it rains! A brilliant curry house with lovely service.

Local gem attend for years but not written review. I thought it be worth doing so as eat there yesterday for my Birthday first time since before lockdown, they have a covered garden making it feel very safe well ventilated and still keep the rain off. Server had PPE on while serving top marks for safty

I've lived in Newington Green for 13years and walked past this place countless times and just never went in. Tonight however a friend and I decided to use this for our dinner and catch up. For their Tuesday £10.95 per head banquet deal we weren't expecting brilliant food but how wrong we were. The food is delicious fresh and delightful. We will be back

Absolutely lovely food! Decor needs to be updated, but despite this you will enjoy every mouthful, the staff are really friendly, you will need to bring your own alcohol as they don't have a licence to serve these drinks.

I use to eat in here years ago. It's a nice restaurant with friendly staff. I will go to have a meal in here. I collected 4 keema nan breads to take home and we really enjoyed it. Fresh with a little spice and mince meat was nice inside.thank you suruchi. Look forward to eating in here.

Food is very nice. We order in alot or we collect. We can't see ourselves eating inside the restaurant. It's not the staff the staff are good it's just the vibe of the restaurant it's self. There's no attention to the decor of the place. The green walls I just can't. I wish they spent a little time on revamping the place up get more people coming in and actually sitting there to eat not just setting there waiting for their take away to be ready. I would rate this place higher but the decor is just letting it down for me

Last visit I ordered as a main course the tandoori chicken. This is listed as a half chicken and is normally two good sized pieces. This evening we got just one smaller piece which had been cut in half! The general standard is unfortunately in decline at this restaurant. Neither hand dryer in ladies or gents toilets have been working for several months! Probably potential fines could be levied for such a neglect of routine maintenance. It is such a pity that this restaurant seems to be in decline as I have enjoyed meals here regularly for many months. It is somewhat common for places owned by absentee owners who do not spend much time there. Lets hope he can reverse the decline! After all it is in his own interest!

Restaurant is a little shabby but still full of character. The owner is always polite and is great at recommending dishes for specific tastes and the food is also great value for money. Lamb Chilli Garlic curry is a definite highlight.

Wow. I'm eating the best lamb pasa de regalar I've ever had. It was a better price than I'm used to too. The lamb is tender. I will go back for sure, even tho I'm moving further away right now. Nice people inside too!

I live on Stoke newington church street the land of amazing Indian restaurants and still always go to Suruchi because it is so AMAZING and reasonably priced. My whole family love their food. Often treat ourselves to a takeaway

Standard Indian menu, but all fresh and done really well, been coming here since the 90's. Great welcome and service overall, lucky to have this place in the neighborhood. Best of all - and not mentioned in any of the reviews I've seen - they've got a great little garden out the back, we were in there with the kids on Saturday evening, it is a pretty strange experience at first to eat curry in the garden (you expect a dark room with flock wallpaper?), but deffo a great choice for this time of year, especially as it's BYOB, too! Keep up the good work, Suruchi.

We were treated poorly. No napkins. Poor customer service. The person serving was rude. Food took over an hour and a half. Portions were too small ( lacked flavour) and cost way more than where i would get food. Don't waste your time going here! Disappointing overall. I will not be coming back

I go here most weeks and really like it. Of course being able to take my own choice of wine helps that. The food is really not at all bad and I am surprised by some of the reviews which don't rate it all that highly. In my view it is above average for Indian restaurants. But it is the ambiance where it scores so well. There are lit candles on every table and from the outside it looks so inviting. The tables have tablecloths and the serviettes are also proper linen! The only slight problem is the parking is restricted until 8 pm on match nights so do look at the signs very carefully!

I regularly get takeaway from here and eat in now and again. Food is excellent, one of my favourite in London. I’m vegetarian also and they’re very accommodating to veggies and vegans. Also it’s remarkably priced for the quality. Massively recommend. The people who work there are great too. V friendly.

Great local Indian restaurant and extremely reasonable. 4 of us had a great meal here for less than £10 each. Was particularly impressed when a neighbouring table's child started screaming and having a tantrum (which the parents ignored), the waiter went over and had a word. Have never seen that before in any restaurant but was extremely grateful. Will definitely be coming back many times.

My partner and I often go here as it's up the road and convenient. Service is friendly and so far we've never had a bad meal, it's always been tasty. You have to take your own booze, but there are plenty of shops nearby. They could tidy up the beer garden a bit to make it more pleasant but all in all its a good local.

I may be a little bias because I used to come here with my father when I was around 5 or 6, but the food is still amazing, the staff still recognised me and the place has hardly changed. So great to re-live fond memories!

This is my local curry house and I thought I'd give it a go. Lovely food, decent price, small portion size, BYOB! The place kind of reminded me of a Romanian prison with it's bleak beige décor, however the staff were friendly enough and had us seated immediately with a fresh batch of crisp poppadoms. We ate as a group of 3 late on a Thursday night. As we were finishing our mains, the music gradually got quieter and the lights dimmed, the staff proceeded to put on their coats and cagoules and stand around us in complete silence. It was very unusual, albeit very funny. Will return.

Booked this based on the other reviews. Although we were the only table , the food took forever. When it eventually arrived, the portions were measly, although quality ok. Might be fine for take away or delivery but forget about a meal out.
