If you do not wish to be assaulted by a large man do not go here. I was attacked while trying to provide feedback on being spoke to rudely. Absolutely discourage all from going. The assailant also responded to confirm he had no interest in feedback. Despite Kate the landlady explaining she wanted to learn from this prior to him attacking me.

I was curious about it being close to my accommodation, so I went to have a beer. Very friendly staff. The store was full, but what about this place? He went out of his way to prepare seats for us. Too kind. Apparently there is live music, but it wasn't playing when I visited. Probably because it was early. disappointing. I wanted to eat here because the food here was highly rated, but unfortunately I was full and only had beer. Ah...live music and food... Delicious beer and friendly staff... I decided I would definitely come here again.

Just attended their baby & parent pub quiz they host during the day on Wednesdays and had soo much fun! The food was amazing. The pub quiz was great and the overall atmosphere was just really welcoming and relaxed even for a new mom like me.

I went along for the ‘mimosas and samosas’ pub quiz and it was fantastic. The samosas were delicious and the welcome and general vibe was lovely. Will be visiting outside of a quiz for sure.

Attracted by the prospect of offering live jazz, live football, indian street food and a good selection of beers, the staff brought great service, attentive detail and all round loveliness to the party. Thank you to every one who made all my friends think I owned the place by showing 6 star hospitality. Very highly rated. 🙏🏻

My only complaint is not with the pub but with google because I can’t give it 6 stars. The food is perfect. The beer is perfect. The staff are ultra friendly. The pub has a lovely vibe and best of all it is incredibly dog friendly. Worth coming here for a holiday I would say !!

Top quality boozer, staff incredibly helpful and friendly, food was to die for and came out roasting hot, fast and with a smile. Real fire brings the atmosphere togther and very reasonable prices. I even left my bag there and the team were very happy to hold it for me. Wish I could rate higher 👌

Traditional, almost unaltered since built pub…..lovely high ceilings, laid back atmosphere, in a great area of North London, traditional homemade Indian food…very nice indeed….good mixture of locals and working area hipsters…

We stumbled across this pub and it turned out to be a great spot, with that classic English pub feel. You walk in and it's your classic local jaunt, that you'd gladly spend a lot of time in as it's a nice place The pleasant surprise was discovering their food menu, which came with some South Asian bites that were absolutely amazing. This pub and it's cuisine are right at home in Farringdon, and the while experience was so good I'd gladly return to savour more of the sweet, spicy delicacies whilst washing them down with good beer.

Visited the place during off-peak day, Tuesday for lunch. The ambience of the place is good, gives you feel of an old town pub. The food was lovely, tasty and served in steel plates to give the Indian feel. They serve good Indian food. Will want to visit during peak times too.

Decent place with an Indian food menu, not the best drinks selection. Plays really gay and football on the box. Tuesday quiz night, does comedy nights too. Careful of the football game in the gents in case of splashback. Staff are very Indie.

I love this place very friendly staff and a great selection of beers and spirits. The pub specializes in Indian food I ordered a chicken Tikka toasted sandwich and absolutely loved it. Guinness is 10/10 as well. The pub gets packed around 5ish on weekdays due to people finishing work. The pub also has a resident cat who's very friendly.

Truly fantastic Indian food. I had the butter paneer naan - lovely flavours, big portion, and only £9.99. Staff were also super nice throughout, and were happy with me working in the corner during my lunch break.

The old Ivy house is a old school traditional Pub, drinks are a fare price! But the Indian food here is amazing and at a good price, I had a chicken tikka with rice and naan, beautiful flavours, it felt like home cook food at the best! I will definitely come back here to eat and drink! ❤️

Nice down to earth pub, friendly staff, has board games, very chilled. But the main thing that drew me in was the food menu, indian Street food, at a pub! So we ordered pakoras, golgappa, masala fries and the paneer tikka naan. The Paneer was yummy, so soft! And I liked the naan. Pakoras were nice, although the aubergine was lacking salt or seasoning. I love gol gappa but was disappointed with the ones here. We were served them with warm yoghurt chutney and not "pani" (which is cold seasoned water with tamarind and spices). Without this, it's just not gol gappa I'm afraid. Overall not bad at all! I love indian Street food and just wanted to give an honest review. Oh, one more thing, please give bigger portions of the chutneys, they were tiny!

Had to review this fantastic traditional pub in the heart of Clerkenwell. A great atmosphere and perfect spot to watch the rugby with the most delicious Indian food. Cooked to perfection and so fresh. Will definitely be visiting again when back in London. Kate and her team looked after us so well. highly recommend!

Recently discovered this pub and have been back twice in a week. The atmosphere is really cool, good music, great wine list and a good mixture of classic and craft beer. Just enjoyed an incredible Punjabi Indian lunch also, which was delish! Staff are really lovely too - great spot, check it out

We live locally and this place recently had a management change. We came here for the talent show night last week. Had such a great night. Welcoming staff, fun vibe, good beer, a really mixed crowd and amazing food. Food is Indian, I had freshly made paneer naan (tandoor oven on the premises!), veg biryiani and various Indian snacks, all fresh and delicious. We'll come again.

We had some naan here the other day. It tasted okay, if not amazing. Still recovering from stomach pains. Not sure what they put in it but it ain't for most.

I visited Tuesday lunchtime with a friend /colleague. We arrived 12:30 and ordered a mushroom wrap and a chicken tikka wrap in nan bread. Two minutes later the Indian chef appeared, charming and full of apologies that the food would take 20 minutes. We said that was fine. It arrived in about 15. The Nan breads were exquisitely fluffy and sweet, the flavour of the mushrooms and the tikka was very well developed, and both came with delicate and well flavoured salad , finely chopped, as part of the wrap. These were meant to be starters, but made a very good light lunch. I can’t wait to go again.

Had the best onion bhaji that I've ever tasted, light, crunchy and spicy that woke up my taste buds! Amazing as for the Goi Goppa shots they was a taste sensation. best Indian food at great prices, well worth a vist,Definitely coming back can't wait. Thank you for waking my taste buds.

If you're looking for a pub with great food, good beer and lovely atmosphere then look no further! Have spent a couple of times here recently and always had a nice time. They do a quiz on a Tuesday hosted by the lovely manager Kate. They also have comedy nights but haven't been to one yet but I will be in the coming weeks. Great place to watch football too with plenty of screens. 5 stars!

Best pub in Clerkenwell! Amazing staff and great atmosphere. Couldn’t recommend any more :) the food is unreal Nd the events they occasionally host like comedy nights and drag bingo are always a blast too! Also great that they are dog friendly!!

This a fabulous pub! Delicious food, great music, lovely staff and management, great quiz, comedy nights, cosy fire for these cold winter months - couldn't ask for more! 10/10 would recommend.

It is really disappointing that the new management have no consideration for their neighbours. Their patrons block the whole pavement, can be offensive toward passers-by and are allowed to shout during the day and late into the evening. The Old Ivy is probably now the rowdiest of Clerkenwell’s pubs, not exactly something to be proud of. Shame as the neighbourhood has so many great pubs and the local one could have been a great one too.

Great atmosphere. So nice to see a food menu that breaks the norm. The new street Indian food menu has great meat and vegetarian and vegan option . Great service and hospitality in a local comfortable environment.

This pub has an excellent neighborly feel, always feels like coming back home. Very lowkey and cozy, has a decent collection of drinks and delicious Indian food on weekdays! Me and my friends also played a lot of board games here, they have a lot of good ones. Great place if you’re looking for a low-effort yet fulfilling time

It's not legal for anyone to be vaping indoors, for health and safety reasons, and yet this "establishment" has both staff and patrons vaping inside the building. Do not go if you're asthmatic or care about your lungs (or would just be annoyed by the idiots).

I've been to this pub a few times but after a recent visit I was amazed at how much it has changed. I came to find out it is under new management and what a great job they've done! This pub has gone from a spot i'd visit if I was in the area to one I would go out of my way to visit. Great beer selection, atmosphere, and friendly staff!

A classic street corner pub in East(ish) London. Lovely helpful staff. Unfortunately, lost a star as no cask ale was available. Something that will be remedied shortly, I'm sure. Quirky keg selection with Boston finest amber lager providing a fine substitute for a pint of bitter. A fine place to stop for a pint!

Stewie is an amazing Person, not many people there but he makes the atmosphere amazing! Dog friendly and he is so welcoming! I would definitely come back couldn't recommend more

We had some time to kill before an appointment so we stopped in for a pint. The Ivy is a beautiful little pub. We ended up chatting with the bartender Ian who was super friendly. This visit ended up being one of the highlights of our day.

Stuie is an amazing host and barman. The perfect spot to stop off for a drink after a walk through the city or if you want to catch a game, as they regularly show sports on a number of screens.

Great local pub with a good beer selection !

I live next to The Old Ivy House and frequented the pub pre 'Rona'. I was extremely thankful when they opened up for takeaways at these times. They never seem too busy and also offer a few home provisions, which helps me not have to go to the supermarket as often. A few of the other residents in my block sit in our garden after a trip to the pub and enjoy the sunshine, not the prettiest view of the back of the pub, but good for us with a garden to use.
