Surbiton Cafe in Kingston upon Thames

Great fry up at a great price. Heading again today for another fix. Staff are polite and hospitable. Coffee is very good.

Came here as a spur of the moment decision and had a lovely full English breakfast. Service was efficient, food was tasty, portions were big and all reasonably priced.

The food is consistently excellent - I have been a customer here for over a decade, and I love the place. I moved out of the area a year ago, but I still come here for breakfast when I can, despite living 13 miles away and passing many other decent cafes on the way. The coffee is freshly ground, and they have fresh squeezed orange juice which has to be tried. Best of all, it isn’t expensive - real value for money. Highly recommended.

I was working in the area and was hungry mid morning as I’d skipped breakfast. Saw 30 minutes on street parking outside and parked up. Local newsagent suggested it as place to eat. I saw my favourite - cheese on toast so went for that. What came out was two large pieces of toast topped with beautifully hot melted cheese. It really was just like home made and was perfect for what I want. That and a cold drink came to £4.60 or something. Free parking outside and I was on my way very happy. Staff were very friendly too. Next time I’m working in Surbiton I’ll head there again.

I’m a seasoned contractor and must say this is where I’ve had my best food . All lovingly prepared by the chefs with the freshest of ingredients. With a very extensive menus and all served with the upmost respect for the customers whilst following the COVID advice . All pricing is reasonable and not excessive,An absolute must for me is the breakfast and the grilled chicken for lunch with rice and salad . I challenge you to finish it ! Whilst there is plenty more I just never had the time on my job to go through the whole menu. If your in or about this area you must try the surbiton caffe who are now doing take.away only through this months lockdown . Will be visiting again soon and can’t wait 👍.

I have visited all the cafes in and around Surbiton, this one is by far the best in the area. Friendly staff, ever so accommodating and the food is very good. There are lots and nice options for vegetarians too (my favourite is egg florentine or Spanish omelette). The coffee is great (I am a coffee snob and it’s not instant coffee 👍) the service is friendly and fast. I can’t recommend this cafe highly enough, if you fancy good food, good portions, clean environment, good and friendly service this is the place to be.

I use the Surbiton Cafe many times during my stay in Surbiton. If you crave simple homely food in good quantities this is the place for you. The service is outstanding, super friendly and accommodating.

We went here for breakfast on a Sunday mornin. The cafe has a five star hygiene rating and is spotless inside. The food was very good quality and value for money. Being a fussy vegetarian, I would highly recommend this place.

this is a very traditional café, and as such was not too inviting from the outside, but the lunch selection, the service is all really good, and a welcome change from all the chains in the area now. Recommended

We stopped at this cafe mid afternoon on a Sunday because there was parking right outside of the door. The menu was extensive and so reasonably priced that we were spoilt for choice. Having made our decision we ordered a lasagne and a mixed grill from the very attentive waiter. The meal was delivered in a reasonably quick time and the portions were huge. The lasagne was the best my wife had ever had, home made and full of flavour. This was presented with chips and a well constructed side salad. My mixed grill was substantial and a good assortment of meats, the lamb chop being the best thing on the plate, it was so tasty. This was accompanied by a copious amount of peas and chips. We were so full that we ended up having to leave some on our plates, something we seldom do but we were just stuffed! Our second cup of tea was complimentary, which is a rare thing these days. All in all, an excellent find, with excellent value for money and we are only sorry that we do not live in the area to make this a regular event. These owners have got it right so keep up the good work!

I have eaten here twice this weekend!! The staff are very friendly and helpful!! The breakfasts are amazing and very good value for money!! It's real thickly sliced fresh bread toasted which makes such a change!!! I would totally recommend this cafe to everyone!!!

Following the Hampton Court half marathon we called in for a recovery drink and some food. The drinks were all excellent and the food exceeded expectations. Service was polite, considerate and attentive. Would heartily recommend to anyone wanting food or drink. We did not eat a full meal but the ones we saw looked excellent.

Unprentious. Friendly. Great service. Great value. It does what is says on the tin. Great for breakfast anytime of day.

Absolutely delicious in fact all the roast dinners and all meals are 1st class and great value for money the owner 9/10 when you’ve eaten offers you a free drink on the house I am staggered that this place has any bad reviews in fact as a lot of his customers I’ve been using it for a number of years and I’ve never been disappointed so if your in the area make sure you try as it’s the best value for money I know and the portions are massive.

Clearly i got this place on an off day judging by the other reviewers although some dont seem to eat out as much as i do.

My husband and I had a brilliant, tasy, hearty breakfast here. We went for one of the set breakfasts each and they happily swapped one of the items for me. We had one of the best hot chocolates I have ever had. The staff were very friendly and efficient and all worked very hard as a team to ensure we were looked after, I would definitely go there again, The food was very tasty and well cooked.

Fab place. Food, service and the owner are fantastic. Can't have a better 'builders breakfast'. No need to be a builder but bring a good appetite. I regularly see people taking pictures of their food as not only are the portions huge, but the presentation reflects pride. I now have to ask for half an omelette as it's still too much even after the gym. May as well take a picture of it ....yes that's half!

Please do not take note of the negative review below - this woman clearly has no idea what she is talking about. My boyfriend and I are frequent visitors of the Surbiton Cafe and her review couldn't be further from the truth.

This cafe serves up food fit for the bin someone should call health inspectors they have no idea how to present the dishes either. I had a jacket potato with beans and cheese how can u go wrong ? Well for starters the jacket potato was pre cooked and placed in the fridge I saw the guy take it out and place in the microwave then he overloaded with beans and butter swarming all over the place disgusting and the potato was old clearly no rules in their kitchen anything goes avoid at all cost or you will end up ill owner refused to give a refund. The 3 peas in a pod is much better across the road.

We had a fantastic lunch here, delicious healthy food, very good value and really lovely owner and staff. Kids enjoyed their Oreo milkshakes and fab toasties with delicious salads on the side. Definitely recommend it and will be going back..

Great place for a good solid breakfast, you just can't fault the breakfasts here and to boot the staff are friendly and helpful, discovered it a short time ago and has now become my regular guilty treat!

This place is a trusty solid place which won't disappoint you on the fry up front. Massive jacket potatoes- good for a quick and cheap lunch. Friendly staff and quick service.

Came up to surbiton for a wedding and was struggling to find somewhere to eat for a morning breakfast. We came across this place and I have to say I was impressed. One of the better breakfast menus I've come across for choice, and excellent value for money (worked out cheaper than weatherspoons). If I lived in the area I'm sure this would be a regular haunt.
