Coffee Break in Kingston upon Thames

I recently visited this charming café and was absolutely blown away by the experience. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and a cozy, welcoming atmosphere that made us feel right at home. The café has such a lovely, relaxed vibe – perfect for enjoying a leisurely breakfast or brunch. I ordered the Full English breakfast, and it was nothing short of outstanding. Every component was cooked to perfection. The sausages were juicy and flavorful, the bacon crispy just the way I like it, and the eggs were fluffy and runny, just as they should be. The tomatoes were perfectly grilled, the mushrooms had an earthy richness, and the beans were served piping hot and delicious. The highlight for me, though, was the perfectly toasted, buttered bread that tied it all together. You could tell that a lot of care went into preparing each part of the dish – it was an absolute joy to eat. What made the experience even more enjoyable was the service. Peter, who served us our food, was an absolute delight. He was not only friendly but also attentive and thoughtful, ensuring that we had everything we needed. It’s rare to come across someone who genuinely cares about making your experience memorable, and Peter did just that. He added a personal touch to our visit, and his positive energy made the meal even more enjoyable. The café itself is a lovely place to spend time – clean, cozy, and full of charm. It’s clear that the owners and staff take pride in what they do. Whether you’re popping in for a quick bite or settling in for a relaxing morning, this spot has everything you need to start your day right. I can’t recommend this café enough! If you’re a fan of classic English breakfasts done right, served with a side of fantastic service, this is the place to be. I'll definitely be returning soon for another round of that delicious Full English – and I’ll be sure to say hi to Peter when I do!

The food is very tasty and value for money 👍. On the menu or make some alterations on your food no problem. Hot drinks and cold drinks a good selection. Clean tidy and always helpful and polite.

Nice cafe with good prices. I chose the Full English Breakfast which comprised of two fried eggs, two sausages, two rashers of bacon, two slices of toast with a serving of baked beans and added a can of lemonade to the order and the total price was only £9.00. There is a customer toilet which was in reasonable condition. The cafe seats around 30 people indoors and in the region of 16 outdoors. Very nice place. Excellent coffee, sandwich was simple and good as well. Did not have to wait for too long. Service was also very friendly. Plenty of room to sit, cool view on a street. Perfect place in every way for a small coffee break.

Totally recommend this cafe. We were a family of 5 adults and a baby in a pram. The gentleman could not have been more helpful. He was very welcoming and friendly. No problem about the pram at all. We ate there both mornings, while down in Kingston. Our breakfasts ranged from salmon and eggs to full breakfast with chips. All really good.

I come here on my work break regularly, the food is good and comes quickly the owner is friendly and the cafe is comfortable. I recommend the Chicken escelope or their choice of paninis. Definitely worth visiting whilst in or around Kingston.

What a great find! I went in here at lunchtime. Had an absolutely delicious, large ham and cheese omelette with beans. The staff were friendly and polite and the food came out very quickly. Strongly recommend!

Stopped in for a late breakfast and a catch up with a friend, and will definitely be coming back. Food was nice and very reasonably priced, and the owner was lovely and always around in case we needed anything. It's a great local cafe to support rather than all the chain ones around.

I am afraid this was really not good. Went in trusting the great reviews, despite having a gut feeling to not get in as soon as I saw it. Asked for a breakfast and the only thing with OK quality were the chips. Cappuccino was plain terrible. Poor quality/price, service was OK-ish. Not worthy I am afraid.

Great little find this one. Family run business, very friendly. Food fresh and nicely cooked, great variety of foods tempting every palette. Portion size good and great value for money.

I ordered jacket potato with chilli and cheese and thought it was great. Uncomplicated and satisfying food at really decent prices. Had great chat with the staff.

The Coffee Break in Kingston - near the busy bus stop in Brook Street - may not look the classiest cafe in town (plastering the window with special offers makes it difficult to see out, or in), but it's a popular meeting place... and the prices are very good indeed. A value-for-money eatery and rendezvous for tea and coffee, it is usually full of people - a very good sign. It's the multi-choice bargains that really catch the eye. Where else in the centre of Kingston can you get a full English breakfast including eggs, bangers, beans and toast PLUS a cappuccino or latte for under six quid? Some places charge that for the coffee alone. Or add tomato and a hash brown to the full English and coffee, and it's still under seven knicker. Students qualify for a further 20% off, while Coffee Break also offers fruit smoothies, baguettes, frappe coffees and the full range of tea and coffee choices and cakes. Rightfully, this cafe has built a strong, loyal following.

Considering the amount of cafe's in Kingston I'm really surprised that staff here would jeopardise potential clientele. I just witnessed a grown woman behind the till being extremely childish and laughing at a passing customer who ended up asking a reasonable question. It was uncomfortable to overhear and watch and absolutely no excuse. In customer service you never know who may pop in so it's always good to have a comfortable first impression.

Went for the 1st time & will definitely go again. Shared a falafel hummus and salad wrap, coffee & fruit cake. Very tasty & staff pleasant.

We were in the hunt for the best coffee in Kingston and despite our gut feeling not to go in we thought to trust the reviews on google since all of them were 5 stars. If you are a lover of coffee do not go out of your way to have just a coffee here...

Visited here several times and it has become my default meeting place in central Kingston; the coffee is reasonably priced and is every bit as good as (in my view better than) any of the big chains. Service is friendly and old-fashioned; they bring the drinks to you rather than leave you to cluster around the till and wait, and there's plenty of tables outside, which is ideal for meeting people and also for those who may wish to smoke.

Been shopping in kingston for years and never used this cafe until recently, however it is now a definite stop every time. the owner/manager is a very friendly man, with lovely staff. The food and coffee is great and very reasonably priced. The cafe is next door to marlins at the back of marks and spencer and worth the little extra walk there.
