I just love to eat in a place where I feel comfortable in someone's home, and they cook really well!

We have used this little cafe occasionally for the last year or so, and we had take out meals from here during the lock down. We were very pleased to see that they were open for lunch this Saturday, and so we ordered our favourite 'Sunshine Schnitzels' with roast potatoes (which were delicious as usual). We were about to leave when it started raining....so we decided to stay for dessert. This was a very good decision, as the brandy banana & caramel waffle was excellent (with a generous measure of brandy) and my fellas honey pancakes went down a treat too. When lots of places are closing or difficult to get in without advance booking, it was lovely just to be welcomed in with a smile no fuss. There is plenty of choice on the menu, and the prices are very reasonable (so having a dessert afterwards is not a difficult decision....) We shall be using this little gem more frequently in the future, as it fully deserves our custom (and we really need to try the homemade coffee cake!)

Had a takeaway sandwich had parked my car around the corner and were no free tables. The owner asked if I would like to sit in the garden, so nice of her to offer lovely lights garden and very peaceful. I took the sandwich home, £4.90 for a big sandwich. I think it was the sunshine sandwich - delicious and well wrapped to keep the bread crisp I’m a chef and usually very picky and never have I ever posted a review in my life but this was exceptional

Queen's Road is rapidly improving with interesting establishments emerging - shops, cafes, restaurants. This modest cafe is really lovely with a big variety of Eastern European dishes. The family running the establishment are Latvian and they are most friendly and welcoming. The prices are extremely reasonable and they even go extra mad on Wednesdays when much of the menu has a 50% discount. Tuesday's has a 25% discount for older people. The delicious pork and chicken schnitzel dishes have a large choice of interesting sauces. I had the white garlic which was lovely, creamy and indeed the presence of garlic was noted. There are good fish choices of salmon and sea bass. Vegetarians won't starve but it is not the emphasis. All the food is served in copious quantities. There are lovely blinis. and waffles for dessert and it is licenced. I had a most agreeable meal in a convivial setting.

cheap but food was disgusting, pork schnitzel tasted like a shredded leather shoe sole with bread crumbs deep fried, cut hardly cut and chew it, clientele like the salvation army soup kitchen, the beer was ok coming out of a bottle, would not take my dog there for a meal

Went for lunch today and had some delicious pancakes stuffed with cheese and mushrooms and lovely potato cakes like rosti. The white garlic sauce was a bit like tzatziki and to die for. Exceptional value we will return!

We decided to visit for lunch after Sunshine had some publicity (advertising) in the local paper. We had not appreciated how distinctive the menu was, with strong Latvian and Russian influences. Lunch was delicious: tuna wrapped in a pancake with sour cream and herbs. Very tasty, and not too filling. Service very prompt and friendly. This place deserves to do well, it is worth a visit to try something different to eat.

Went in for a late lunch on a rainy day midweek. Sad to find I was the only person in there. This place deserves to be heaving. I had the best veggie burger that I have ever had. Food was lovely and beautifully presented. Prices were great. Burger, Latte and Chocolate and Banana Blinis for less than a tenner! Waitress was very friendly. A very good range of eastern european food. I shall be back to try some of the menu items which I have never eaten before. Accessible for wheelchairs BUT two steps up to the toilet.

Happened upon this place by accident and what a find! Amazing hospitality and great, delicious food. We had some juices first and then Latvian filled pancake, and savoury dumplings. Clean, cheap and friendly staff.

Stumbled across this place one morning and so glad that we did. The staff were super friendly and accommodating and the food was delicious. If you are looking for something unique, this little Latvian cafe will not disappoint. The juices are equally as yummy and all very reasonably priced. Will definitely visit again if I'm ever in the area.

The simple and clean appearance of this place suggests it might just be a another cafe serving standard fare, but it is different. The menu (substantial and with infinite variations on request) is Eastern European but I could not guess where most of the dishes come from. Some are identified by name. We've explored various vegetarian options, all of which were excellent - the 'veggie burger' can be filled with fried potato cake, egg, mushrooms, different cheeses and sauces. They are really good and the bread is unique too. Delicious. The owners will adapt to your taste so it's worth having a chat. If you're a veggie and fancy something different to the typical quorn sausage variation of a fry-up, this place are a real treat. Coffee is good, soya and other options available. Not expensive. It's a short walk from the shopping centre. The staff are friendly and polite. They deserve to succeed.

You get a real mixed experience here. Sometimes there is a chef and on those occassions the food is decent. Sometimes the owner's husbands takes his place and it is, quite frankly, vile. Here's my
