Sunrise Restaurant in Eastleigh

Having moved to Chandlers Ford only recently, we were on the lookout for a local Indian takeaway. I find reading online reviews a bit of a lottery so trying anywhere for the first time is a bit of a risk. Decided to try Sunrise for a New Year’s Day takeaway and was very pleasantly surprised. All the food was extremely tasty and literally could not fault it. I’m glad to say this is now our local Indian and will be returning soon.

Always order through Uber eats or go in for a meal. Always really happy, great food, great place to eat. However, this evenings delivery was terrible. Have you changed your chef? Popadoms missing, sag aloo tasteless, chicken tikka really chewy & all stone cold! The samosa was the only nice part of a £30 order. Really disappointed 😔

Came on a Sunday evening with family from Manchester. A warm welcome from friendly staff. Ordered food and drinks, all of which were delicious . Rogan Josh, Madras, Bhuna and the delightfully named Davedush. Rice, one of which wasn't on the menu but was delivered with no fuss. Bhajee and garlic naan and Bombay potatoes. What a feast, nothing was left. We go as a couple every 2 months and always have a great time. Our visiting relatives exclaimed it was the best Indian Restaurant they had been to!! I agree.

As usual a generous and tasty meal. This time we had a takeaway. Good selection of vegetarian options. Pleasant staff

Very disappointed with the quality of the takeaway. The food tasted extremely bland and soup like, also the chicken was rubbery and unpalatable. The whole meal seemed to be thrown together without any real effort or care! The takeaway food is very different to the food served in the restaurant. Will not be returning for another takeaway!

Me my brother and my dad has used this place for over 15 years dad now moved to Wales so we order and drive his curry's up, but never go here again, total gone down hill as ordered a chicken pathia and 6 pieces of chicken that was smaller then a t spoon my view, portion skimping yes, satisfacion no, half a curry at the full price, totally unbelievable, photos are shocking. Never come here again and dad no I ain't getting u from here as the chicken is so small that when I drive your curry up to North Wales the chicken will evaporate. I spoke to the owner Sam stating how small the portions are and the poor quality of the food, and his reply was that's what you get now and we are still making money, take it or leave it.

Used to love coming here with my brother as they where the best indian around. However on this occasion i was very disappointed. Ordered a chicken taja, was shocked when it turned up, 5 very small pieces of chicken and it tasted very bland. Upon complaining to the owner he was very dismissive giving the impression that making a quick buck is more important than customer satisfaction. Will be going back to my favorite restaurant in romsey.

I have been an avid fan of the Sunrise for years but the last four visits have been progressively more disappointing. My main gripes are that the lamb in their curries appears to have been precooked and then added to the daily curries. This lamb is tough and full of gristle and really spoils the dish. Added to this, the portions appear to be smaller. We also ordered two portions of onion bhajee's and at first were pleasantly surprised to find they had delivered an extra one. We then found that the reason for this was because they had burnt the bhajee's, I am not sure how giving extra, compensates for this. Overall, would I go back again? Only if I knew that they had returned to their previous quality standard, which was superb.

During 2022 they had regained the usual standard however last two visits Sept 2022 have been lacking. Gone are the stalwart warmers and stainless steel dishes and now its crockery and off set plates. Portions have shrunk dramatically as has quality and taste. King prawn pathia use to be really tasty with large butterflied prawns but last visits has been small prawns bordering on big shrimp and half the taste and portion. Garlic chilli chicken portion shrunk, not as tasty as before and overpowered by salt. The byriani was up there with the best I had tasted but last couple ordered have been tasteless and prawns as previously mentioned. Tarka daal the consistancy of water, Love this place and pains me to leave bad reviews after frequenting for 30 odd years but needs sorting by new post covid owner as we can see past the state of toilet and loose seating etc but only if the foods spot on.

So we booked ahead - and had confirmation. Got greeted by an abnoxious and surly Waiter - who after consultng with his manager grudingly showed us to a table laid for 3 (there were four of us) He threw down the cutlery , reach over me to put a plate in front of my wife then literally droped a napkin on it. Lovely finesse there! Came back with the menus - disappeared. Back 5 mins later - "Drinks?" - so ordered. He looked amazed with my wife wanted some tea ! "pappodums?" "how many?" - we had to ask for the pickle tray (and at £2.80 was taking the... esp as they charge for the pappodums.. Comeone folks ! Back 10 mins later "Orders?" (Courtesy was getting worse) 2 wanted starters - my wife and I didnt. Again...raised eyebrows! These duly arrived. 15 mins later the starters arrived..And were eaten. Then we waited...and we waited.. - take away orders were flying out the door and a queue down the resturant.. After an hour we got served but ONLY after I stopped the mamager and asked where are food was?? No apology - just another 10 min wait- Really?????? Food was Ok... chicken was a bit tough on two. The Chicken tikka Korai was just chicken and not tikka (couldnt be bothered to complain) and one of the rice were wrong... again - forget asking! We had two attempts at ordering a jug of water - 2 glasses delivered! Never aked how it was... never got asked for drinks refills... - SO you lost out there! Then towels appeared.. No "Would you like a desert?" We paid, left and left no tip. Service charge not included (OR DELIVERED) Sorry this was a birthday and quite honetly we were treated very poorly. Wont be there again. (And by the way my wife indicated that the ladies toilets were pretty disgusting - water all over the floor and opposite the kitchen door.) Probably fine for a takeway... not a place I'd recomend on this basis for good service. we wont be back.. - and it was on a recommendation we came - hence I'm suggesting think twice. Not to sure about the hygenie either given the floor, the toilets and the visibile room at the back piled high with dishes and pans. DISAPPOINTING. DO yourselves a favour and read these and act upon them... your complete lack of service has done you NO favours. We didnt dare complain as I'm not sure we'd have had much joy

Have eaten in the restaurant several times but decided to go for a takeaway tonight. Booked menu choices and collection time online very easily. Food was ready and piping hot when we collected, it also came with complimentary poppadoms and chutney - a lovely added bonus! Food was really delicious, as good, iff not better, than any I've experienced anywhere else. I would definitely recommend as we have never had a bad experience.

Our friends booked a table here to try somewhere different. The staff were very friendly and the food was excellent we were not rushed and could enjoy our evening. Will visit again

The meal was good, when it finally arrived. They were incredibly slow to take the orders for our (largish) group, and even slower to bring drinks and food. Seemed to be concentrating on a constant stream of takeaway clients

Have used the Sunrise since it first opened and its secret has been consistency. Since visiting during and post covid however we have noticed a change not in taste or quality but in portion size and amount / size of chicken and prawns etc. Have held off writing this as wanted to have a few more visits under the belt to ensure it was a constant and not a one off or just perceived since they have done away with the stainless bowls and food warmers. Chicken is now cut smaller and there is a tiny amount in each dish and the king prawns which were always large butterflied and meaty and now tiny and spare in comparison to before. Other portions also seem smaller. The taste and quality is still as good as before but having been a regular since day one I'd hate to see things go adrift. Old fella hasn't been there the last half dozen visits so perhaps this explains the change??

Been going to the Sunrise for years, eating in and taking out, not being big on reviews, I felt I had to write and say that lasts night takeout was outstanding. I’m so proud the team at the Sunrise are battling through the devastating impact from the pandemic and coming out the other side on top form.

This is the best curry house around. Iv known the owners and chefs here for over the last 20 years and the food never disappoints. The chefs know how to balance spice and heat without it compromising the flavour. Great family run Indian with really polite people working there. I highly recommend the specials try something new and different from the usual korma!

Brilliant restaurant. I’ve been going to the Sunrise for over 20 years and the food is always lovely, along with great service. I got a takeaway last week that was so good I felt compelled to write a review after all this time!

Great food and service. Not the cheapest but one of the best Indian meals I’ve had. Chicken Chilli was absolutely perfect.

Visited Sunrise for the first time last weekend. We went with friends who are regulars and say it is the best curry house in the area and they aren't wrong! We had a superb meal, efficient service, staff Covid safe, not rushed. We will definitely be returning. I would highly recommend the Dhansak and the Madras.

Delicious food on a Saturday night via take-a-way.Always ready at the time we request. Generous portions.

Back to an favourite, earlier in the evening! As always good service and and excellent food. The Punjabi Chicken was better than before. Chicken Madras excellent. Still one of the best places around.

Having received a warm welcome on a busy Friday night we soon had a pint of lager and some poppodoms.My Chicken Tikka starter was excellent, fab quality and great spicing and presentation, however my main of Chicken Dansak was red in colour and more like a chicken madras. However it was well spiced and tasty.Overall a good Friday night however not as good as previous ones at Sunrise Balti.. I guess everyone has an off day?

We have tried all the Indian restaurants in the area and always come back to Sunrise. I can honestly say I have never had a bad meal at this great value for money restaurant.

Dropped in early on a Saturday evening and saw the restaurant fill up very quickly - lots of regulars who appeared to be on good terms with the staff. The restaurant lay out and the fixed booth seating reminded me of the 1980s curry houses (the decoration looked as though it hadn't been touched since then either). Our food arrived on an old wooden trolley, which I didn't think was going to make it from the kitchen to our table, but pleasant enough waiters served up the poppadums and traditional accompaniments to start, followed by piping hot Chicken Kharai and Lamb curry. From my initial observations I was expecting a sloppy curry but much to my surprise the food was a good consistency and tasted great! So if you are looking for a large varied menu in a casual dining environment then Sunrise fits the bill, but don't expect waiters in crisp white shirts and stylish elegant decor.

Menu has a good selection of dishes and includes a few that are not so common elsewhere. Food is good but occasionally let down by indifferent service. A busy place so best to book.

We received a warm welcome and soon had a lovely cold Cobra in hand. The menu is wide and varied, try the chicken tikka starter followed by the chicken dansak, great spicing well preseneted and plenty of it!All this for a very fair prioce too..All together a FANTASTIC FRIDAY!

The front of this restaurant gives no idea of the delights inside. My daughter and I were having an early dinner and expected the restaurant to be quiet but it was already nearly full. When our food came we realised why. I had the prawn dansak and it was delicious. My daughter had a vegetable curry and was very pleased with her meal. Service was prompt, which was just what we needed.

We have always enjoyed food here but the last few meals have not been up to scratch. Last evenings food was disappointing. Starters. We had a mushroom dish that was basically 5 small mushrooms deep fried, covered in a spicy breadcrumb and also Lamb samosas. Three small samosas, virtually no lamb. Both dishes looked like they had been purchased from Iceland. At just under £4 a dish, total rip off. My chicken tikka masala was medium brown in colour, lacking flavour, pre cooked chicken. Not good. My wife had tandoori king prawn tikka masala. The prawns were squishy/ mushy. Not fresh or butterflied whole as expected. When we complained they didn’t charge us for the dish. It’s a real shame because we normally enjoy this restaurant. Excellent service, beverages, cleanliness etc. The restaurant was packed and I only hope they are not starting to cut quality due to being popular and trying to make more money. So guys, if you take time to read this, please have a look at your priorities and let’s have your normal excellent food back again!

Food is very tasty good value and nice atmosphere wel, worth a visit the food was plenty and enough to eat

Really good curry I had a chicken jalfrezi and my wife had a chicken balti . Excellent service and good prices. Nice restaurant and really worth a visit.

This place was packed on a random Friday in mid Jan.. always a good sign.

Visited for the first time in around 2 years. Curry was very watery. Not sure why, not the usual oil from ghee. The older owner is very rude and litteraly chucked my card back after paying. Very upset and will not be going back, being an older customer myself and receiving that kind of service is upsetting to say the least. Avoid.

We drop in on the spur with the 3 sprogs. They enjoyed the food, experience and the fact the curriy temperature was turned down for them. We have been eating in/out from here for the last 18+ years and it still delivers. Rekaxed kids = relaxed parents. Great food, great friendly service, thoroughly recommended above other “Trendy” curry houses in the area who push a different agenda.

Friend uses this restaurant regularly and as I was in the area it seemed silly not to take their recommendation. Service great, food great, atmosphere great - what else go you need

Decided to try here as heard it was good, we were not disappointed the food was really nice one of the best I have had in recent years, would recommend.

I use the Sunrise regularly. The staff are always friendly and helpful and you won't get a better Indian (Bangladeshi) meal anywhere. Just brilliant.

Ordered a delivery and they told me 30-45 minutes, they turned up over an hour late with my kurma and keema nan which was not nice at all. The curry should have had a thick sauce instead it was watery so I wasted my money on food I could not eat. Very disappointed

Went to Sunrise on a cold Tuesday, very quiet with only 2 tables occupied. The food as always was very good, full of flavour and good portions. Makes a change not to rush it as we were there earlier than normal! Really good. Staff as usual very friendly.

Ordered a takeaway for the family after a long day out and asked that the spice on a couple of dishes was toned down as children would be eating.

I've been visiting the Sunrise Tandoori for over 20 years, and have never had a bad meal there, this is easily the best Indian restaurant in the area, closely followed by the Masala Lounge just up the road.

Best Indian restaurant in Southampton. Food is freshly cooked and truly scrumptious. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is relaxed.

We had a lovely meal with friends at this Indian cuisine restaurant. The great choice of food was beautifully cooked and served. The staff were pleasant and we had a good evening.

Came here with friends for a meal on a Friday night. I had pre booked and was very promptly sat at the table Had a good starter and my chickenmain meal was very tasty although it was a little on the spicy side. and the service was good. I would recommend the restaurant as a good place to eat a curry at.

La última vez que estuvimos aquí hace 10 años. Ha sido este largo porque entonces vi el chef en el estacionamiento de la parte trasera de cortar cebollas mientras fumadores sobre ellos.

Un pequeño restaurante, pero la comida es buena a un precio razonable. Hay un menú variado y había mucho para elegir. La comida es buena y siempre caliente. Las porciones no son enormes, pero eso no es un problema para mí.

Visited many times and food is usually very good, although sometimes the service can be a bit abrupt and impersonal.

This is a comfortable clean restaurant in the center of Chandlers Ford. The tables have good quality linen and cutlery.My Chicken Tikka starter was very good and served hot, however my Chicken Dansak main course was on the small side but the sauce was well flavoured and the chicken reasonable. I must say I much prefer the Dansak from the takeaway near the station.Overall the meal was OK and as was the service. I guess we were unlucky to pick the night there was a plumbing issue effecting all the toilets.

Stopped at this indian restaurant on way home from Weymouth, it was advertising buffet which we like having, however it said it was £7.50 on the window, but on receiving the bill it was £13.00 something, the waiter said the £7.50 was a child's price, I told the waiter that it should have adults and children's prices advertised on the front window. The service was very poor, both waiters playing with their phones and you could hear that they were watching videos on them. Definitely won't be going back there again, we go to a lot of indian restaurants and have never paid that much money for a buffet.

Been here a good many times for the good food at an excellent price.However, the restaurant is quite strange....often virtually deserted, occasionally packed. But in either case service is nothing short of eccentric!!!! On an occasion when my friend and I were almost the only diners, we still struggled to get served - one waiter spent most of the evening sitting at a table staring at his phone, the other two were in no hurry to take our order either! Nevertheless, the food when it eventually arrives is excellent, well cooked, well presented, and plenty of it.Have also gone there for takeaway, and despite phoning the order through, we still waited ages when we got there to collect it! If it wasn't for the fact that the food is really good, the haphazard service would certainly put me off!!!!

Ordered a takeaway from Sunrise after hearing good reviews from friends. I have to say I wasn’t overly impressed.The tandoori chicken wasn’t very succulent and the lamb pathia wasn’t as fruity and fresh as I would expect.When I arrived the staff were not very warm or welcoming. There are better Indian restaurants in Chandlers Ford.

I've never had a bad meal at this restaurant and staff are very attentive.Good menu and good atmosphere.

Having been to all three Indian restaurants in Chandlers Ford today has proven that the Sunrise has upped it's game and is now a contender for top spot on food quality.. Well done to all. Scott and Amanda. Table for two by the Window 19th August 7.15pm.

Love this place, been going for years. They are always pleasant and the food is delicious ! My parents always want to go when they visit ....which is never a problem for me!!

Been going here regularly and food always good, also lager reasonably priced too. Quiet efficient waiter service. Everything you would want from an Indian Restaurant.

Service was very poor, cola drinks were served and were flat. No apologies were offered, next drink....the same ...completely flat, no of either. The waiting staff find apologise and it was as if we were in the wrong.Scandal was good but chicken tikka was poor.Bad lighting and ambience..Should have stuck with th Indian takeaway down the road which ha david better food ant half the price.

Been going to this restaurant for at least 14 years. The staff are great the food is wonderful and although we have moved over 30 mins further away it is still the only place we will go to for a curry! Well done Sam and all the staff!

Had a lovely dinner, with all the condiments. Have a great range of sides and best in area curries, by far! Good value for money and always very friendly staff.

We ordered 2 x Chicken Tikka and waited ages - when we arrived home found them to both to be Korma - lots of coconut flakes - we also ordered a Lamb Bhuna and another Chicken dish which were Ok.The food was expensive for the take away menu compared with other local takeaways - would not use again due to the wrong food being provided which we could not take back as had been dished up and as one of us does not like Korma was wasted. Seems from other reviews this is not the 1st time Korma has been served instead of a chicken dish. Rather disappointed as this was the 1st time we have tried this restaurant.

Staff were very unhelpful/ uninterested. Order came and was wrong but was corrected. We ordered chicken tikka - this was medioca and chicken biriana was very nice. Friends had ordered butter chicken, (yes this interpretation can vary) came out a blatant korma, no taste at all, Tasted like pumpkin soup. Not impressed and wouldn't go back unfortunately.

Really great food with good service. Good range and some nice beers as well. Cannot ask for more. Keep it up

My friends and I went here Friday night after playing football locally, so we didn't get to the restaurant until 10pm.I've been going here for several years and I've always had good service and great food.Staff are friendly, place is clean.Highly recommend.

We were a party of 4 on a Friday night, and had booked a table. Being seated upon arrival, drinks and poppodoms came promptly. Food ordered was house briyani, prawn briyani, chicken jalfrezi, peshwari naan, and bhindi bhaji. All in all, service was good and quality of the food was pretty good, not too oily and with just the right spice (had asked for madras hot for the vegetable curry accompanying the briyani, and it had the right amount of spice without me biting into lots of curry powder!) Would certainly go back there again!

Not impressed with the food we ordered. We were expecting it to be delivered to be called and told that they don't! The lamb and chicken were tough and flavourless. Sorry but we won't be back.

Although we've eaten here several times in the last few years those occasions are outweighed by the regular takeaways, so this review is about that aspect.Generally the preparation is done at the time they've stated at the time of the phoned-in order, even in busy periods. It is always annoying to arrive and have to wait, but I can't remember the last time I had to sit and leaf through the paper while waiting.We particularly enjoy the Garlic Chilli Chicken since it has plenty of big chillies in it, and the Chicken Tikka Dhansak is also one of our favourites (made extra hot on request and consistently good). I suppose the true test of a takeaway is whether customers 'stray' to other establishments or have a regular order with one. The Sunrise passes that test since although there are other establishments to use we have tried many and always choose the Sunrise for our regular takeway.

Been here many times over the years. Ventured here (twice in 10 days) mid week and on a Saturday.Service was friendly and patient bearing in mind we were a table of 17, split bill and scattered across the tables.Considering the number of meals all the food came pretty much all together and was as always hot. The of all the meals were full of flavour and the meats well cooked. Previous visits we had found the food to be a little bland and had as a result stayed away for awhile. The last 3 visits have certainly not been bland.Will look forward to next visit.

It's all relative. Having moved here from Birmingham, we continue our long search for a really decent curry. This is the best we've found so far. Still not as good as Brum, and we have to ask for everything to be hotter as things are not as spicy down here. But the Sunrise food tastes great, decent portions and very friendly staff.

I went on Friday evening. The poppadoms were your typical standard however the sauces were very thick and the mango chutney for example possibly lost taste as a result. The Chicken Chat starter pancakes had by 3 of our party were thoroughly enjoyed and the comment was previous reviews endorsing the dish were justified. I had the onion bhaji which if being honest was possibly a little too big for a starter dish but was enjoyable and tasty. Starter wise this restaurant could easily get away with a 10-20% reduction in portion size. My chicken balti main was nice and had a subtle kick to it. All 5 of my fellow diners enjoyed their meals. However the comment made was that the one of the mains was a little bland. Atmosphere was the one thing that prompted negative comments by all 6 diners the music was a little random. However, we weren't sure whether that was a phone or the stereo. Overall we had a good time and I personally would definitely eat at this restaurant again

We have had many meals at the Sunrise (all of them equally delicious!). We have also ordered in for 70+ people, no mean feat, but they managed to pull off a marvellous and reasonably priced menu! overall, would recommend, as they have a great quality of food and staffing.

Ate food from the sunrise Friday evening what can I say fantastic food fab service , fab prices lovely well recommended

Went here with my partner, food is nice in my opinion, staff are friendly and helpful. I'm sure the coke came out of a bottle. Can't fault the place, small and cosy restraurant. Overall decent place to eat :-)

Ten of us visited for the first time at 6.30.p.m. on a Saturday. The service was good and the food superb. Chicken chat can be quite a simple dish but their Chicken chat pancake was full of flavour more so than I have had before. My main of Lamb Tikka Koria was beautifully spiced and the special rice was perfect.I have seen some poor reviews of this restaurant on Trip Advisor but I thought it was excellent

We ordered our food for collection. Was told it was a 45 minute wait when we got there we then had to wait another half hour at the restaurant.We got home to find the food was stone cold We then rang sunrise and he said just put it in the microwave!!! We paid £27 for a meal that we had to heat up in the microwave. Its disgraceful!! And to be honest the food was Ok. Asda do a better curry than their tasteless crap. Anyway I will defiantly not be returning.

Been many years since I was here and decided to try it again, certainly not disappointed, fantastic choice of menu without being to complex. Real authentic Indian flavours, superb friendly service. Looking forward to revisiting when I'm back in the area again.

Totally gorgeous food great atmosphere I like the food the wine rose is really nice, easy to park , nothing to dislike

The coke wasn't fizzy, and the poppadoms were a bit limp!' The curry, I had a chicken tikka kurma and it was gorgeous - lovely curry, friendly atmosphere and nice staff.

I have eaten here a number of times and it is always a great meal served quickly and with a smile, try the chicken and mushroom balti or chicken chat.

Never disappointed with the food here. Normally we order takeaway and find the staff very helpful when deciding what to have. Sometimes service is a little slow but the food is worth the wait!

Decided on a takeaway for the family this evening and tried this restaurant in Chandlers Ford.Thought we would get adventurous and order online so we tried the online ordering service - EatIn247 - it was actually a great experience because we could just add the food as we decided upon it, place the order and watch the whole process on the website - all rather exciting!!Anyway the food was really nice. We received extra popodums than the number ordered and plenty of free chutneys and mint sauce which is always nice.We had a mixture of main courses with rice and breads and everything went down a treat.We actually chose to collect the meal and the staff were really friendly and polite.An all round good experience. Will certainly eat there again.

I visited this restaurant last evening with friends, I have been here before , the first time was 20 years ago when I lived in the area. Recently November 2013,My first visit I found the staff to be rude and unhelpful so I didn't return . I do eat Indian food at least once a week and have done so for 50 years.My friends invited me back there last year and told me the food was extremely good. They were right the food was good !But to my amazement the staff still had a couldn't care less attitude and service was still poor !Last evening my friends had booked a table, we arrived at 7.30 pm at the time the table was booked but no table was available. There were 8 other people in the same position as us all having booked a table but no tables were free. The person who greeted us didn't seem to care too much but was aware that my friend had booked the table with him personally. The other 8 people left in disgust . we waited as one of the waiters ushered a couple who were sat on a table for 4 to another table , they were not to happy about this but then freed up the table for us. Half an hour later our drinks order was taken a further hour went by and the starters arrived ! Finaly the main courses arrived nearly 2 hours after we arrived in the restaurant, I like to take time over dinner but this was crazy.The problem with this restaurant is they serve so many take aways that the seated dinners take second place as they are a captive audience.Although the food was good the evening was spoilt by the service. In saying that the restaurant has been going for many years so the regulars must except it.If you wish to try the food I would suggest a take away. I would not dine there again.

Use this place a lot. Really traditional Indian Restaurant. Good service, good food and excellent value for money. Take away and eat in are to the exact same standard. Brilliant

Has the usual favourites, and cooked in the way you would expect, seems a bit stuck in the 80s though. Good focus on customer service, and value for money

Having eaten here several times before I must comment on our last, and it will be the last, visit.The seats were sticky and dirty, the service was slow, and they got the order wrong, The food was bland (Chicken Dansak) and the worst of it all was visiting the toilet (next to the kitchen door) where the urinal and sit down were both overflowing onto the floor. On complaining I was told, yes we know, it's been like that a couple of days!Refused to pay and left having eaten less than half of the meal.I wrote to them afterwards but got no response.Frankly appalling.

Went in on quiet weekday evening. Surprising, then, that the service was so slow - it took 10 minutes to be given menus and asked whether we wanted drinks, and that sort of delay continued throughout the evening. My starter (chicken pakrora) was bland and pretty tasteless, but the garlic and chilli chicken was really nice - I would order that one again.Price was reasonable, service polite if slow, and food average. Convenient and acceptable option if you are in the area, but there is better not too far away.

This restaurant always provides fantastic quality food whatever your choice! The staff are highly professional, charming and attentive. We love it here and if we try somewhere else we always wonder why we did as the food here is just so good!

We have been going to Sunrise for many years now and always found the food outstanding. However the last two times has been rather disappointing. The food does simply not taste the same. Ingredients/chef???.....we don't know. The service is still the same though, slow-slow-slow. I'm not complaining about the service because it has never changed. Unfortunately we can't find a good curry house to replace this one with. Shame!

Food is great, but restaurant is like something out of the seventies and needs a serious revamp. In particular, can get very smokey, and there is a constant queue of people in the central isle waiting for Take Aways, which is a shame as the Food and Staff really deserve better - as do the custom

This restaurant is absolutely superb! The food is beyond belief and the staff are so friendly and professional. The takeaway food is of exactly the same quality as the food served in the restaurant too. We visit this time and time again and absolutely love it.

My husband and I have been to the Sunrise on several occasions and have never been disappointed. The decor is somewhat dated, but clean and tidy. More importantly, the food selection is excellent, with very accurate and detailed descriptions of the meals, cooked beautifully and served by friendly, albeit, quiet staff.We consider it to be value for money and the best indian restaurant for dining in within the local area.Would recommend for an enjoyable dining evening

Nice food, nice staff, ambience a bit hit and miss especially if there is a lot of people hanging round standing for take away. Always have nice food, but why oh why is the soft fizzy drinks always so poor? If youre a drinker its fine, but if youre the designated driver the soft drinks are always warm and ALWAYS flat. I think the issue is that they serve coke etc from bottles which they allow to go flat? A shame as my family always moans at the drinks so we dont really go there any more...... So simple to fix too!
