Sunnyside & Sunnyside Too restaurants in Central Bedfordshire

We recently had breakfast at Sunnyside. The service was friendly and efficient (Sharon) and the food was really good. Everything came to the table quickly and as ordered. The portions are ample and the coffee is delicious. We have never been disappointed at Sunnyside! Great little restaurant!

After a hectic day at the shops, my Wife and I dropped in at this pub ( close to our house) for a drink. we sat down inside and had a look at the lunchtime menu, and decided to have some food My Wife had a Tuna bagette, and I had a chicken one. They were very quicker by a friendly waitress. The food was hot and very tasty. I would go back to this pub, and have the evening meals soon.

The food is exceptional here. Recently I tried the meatloaf and mushroom gravy. Amazing is the best word to describe it.

we split a club sandwich with salad... Sandwich was good and food was served quickly.. But, watching a waitress standing around chewing gum was a turn off. They need some proper training. Dull, Dull... no hype in restaurant.

Sunnyside restaurant has usually been a good place to get almost home cooked food. When we got there we were told the other side was closed because it was only open during mornings for breakfast. There was a line up and we had to wait almost 15 minutes to be seated. Our waitress was prompt and took our orders, then the wait began again. There was still a line up of people coming in and I noticed that there were tables that customers had finished and the staff hadn't cleaned off yet. Our waitress was really good at refilling our drinks and kept telling us our order wouldn't be too long. But we waited almost 45 minutes to get our food which was a breakfast meal. We were contemplating leaving when we were told it would only be a couple of minutes more. The food was good and hot when it finally came. There seemed like a lot of staff just going around with coffee pots and we noticed that when the food started coming everybody waiting for food got their food at the same time.

Seated quickly and initial service good. But once meal was on table just left completely. No offer of additional drinks, no check on food satisfaction. Seemed to be a lot of staff just wandering around but not taking any interest in customers. Just wanted to leave by the time the waitress came back. Food was hot, but despite requesting eggs in omelette were well cooked still came back "wet" . Food is exactly what you expect in a family style diner. It is what it is , a mid priced, diner. Basic food, basic decor and basic service. The sort of place you would go back to, but not that often.
