Sunnyside Inn in Nuneaton and Bedworth

Been a non-regular for years, but stumbled on the fact they do a quiz on monday nights so popped along with a friend last week... such a good night that we've been back again tonight and will definitely be regulars for it every week! The landlord & his better half are a fantastic couple, very warm and approachable who both made time to come and chat in depth to us both which was appreciated as a lot don't bother with new regular faces anymore! The staff are fab, jovial, friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Have eaten here a few times too and never had a bad meal, portion sizes and prices are really good, and the produce used is top quality. On the way out tonight we saw a poster for a monthly motown night - will be giving that a try too!

I went with our Ladies Who group to the monthly Motown night. We had an absolute blast. We arrived there early and had a meal before the disco (the food is always good and the prices are very reasonable). We danced for virtually all of the disco (you have to give your feet a rest occasionally). The music was fabulous and the DJs were great fun. We visit the Sunnyside regularly and they always look after us. This was our first visit for the Motown evening, it most certainly won't be the last.

A early evening meal with family for my dads birthday. Overall the food was lovely. And actually one of the best I’ve seen it there. I ordered mixed grill, the amount of food available for the price given in a cost of living is perfect amount. Not too big not too small. Although I don’t think I could manage any bigger. When we first arrived, a lady behind the bar greeted us, but when asked a simple question about a cardigan my mum had left. She didn’t listen properly as she thought my mum was trying to ask if it was there but it was there because it had been put safely. Not that the attitude was bad but i definitely think that kind of person is better with the bar side than more the restaurant side where it is more customer focussed. I ordered a lemonade the syrup box has emptied but without question they changed my drink and bought a new one to my table. Fantastic service I love that they do the ring sausage as opposed to just a few bangers on a plate and it tasted incredible. Onion rings are always a winner with me and my dad. It was good how the light bites are available all day every day as my grandparents wouldn’t manage a full meal some pubs only serve them until a set time so here there’s no restriction. Which again makes the food stand out Over all a lovely pleasant experience and will return

The best Sunday dinner I eaten in a while, good selection of carvery, best gravy... lovely food, great staff.. you can't go wrong. Highly recommend dining here.

Very busy managed to get a table . Ordered 2 Sunday lunch . 30 minutes . Large serving. Beautiful beef 3 slices . Veg was cooked lovely not too crunchy but not soggy . Yorki pud was huge but very nice . Definitely worth the money . We will deffo return .

Went for my mums 60th birthday lunch, there was 14 of us in total.! Ordering food was made so easy and simple thank you to helpful staff, wasn’t much of a wait on food after ordering. Nice clean place with a warm friendly atmosphere! Staff friendly and helpful, nice selection of beverages soft and alcoholic! Have options for lite bite meals for those who can’t handle a bigger portion which are very big portions, mum wants to go back she really enjoyed her meal and she is a very fussy eater too! Very happy with our experience

This place is an amazing place for families to come and have a nice relaxing Sunday lunch. The gravy was pukka and the veggies all cooked to near perfection. We would definitely recommend this place to everyone we meet. Friendly staff and speedy service!

The Sunday dinners at the Sunnyside are absolutely delicious. We visit most weeks, and are never disappointed. The portions are generous and it’s cooked fresh and always tastes great. The manager and staff are very friendly and welcoming, it has a family oriented feel I would highly recommend.

Myself and a friend visited the sunnyside yesterday for Sunday lunch. It was absolutely lovely. Service was amazing. Caroline always gives service with a smile. Not visited here in a while was once one off my favourite places to eat but due to working away I haven't had chance to visit. So visited tonight for 1st time in year or so they have a new menu which has lots off choice for big and small eaters or fussy eaters like me. We was made to feel very welcome by Pete and his staff. Took my mum for some food and we was very impressed the quality was amazing portion was perfect and even the presentation was lovely. If you like home cooked and freshly prepared food with lots off choice this is the place for you. Will be going back very soon ps the steaks here are very good quality ! Thanks Nathan

We went to the Sunnyside Inn with our family to celebrate my special birthday. I would recommend this pub to anyone. The meals we had were excellent and very well cooked with competitive prices. The kids menu had a good choice of food and sides and again was we prices. We are guide dog puppy raisers and our guide dog Hugo was also welcomed there as are all dogs as long as they are well behaved. Pete and Emily have made the Sunnyside Inn a valuable and loved part of the local community.

Been tonight . Can't fault the sunnyside for service and quality. Absolutely beautiful food. Hot and fresh. Chloe our waitress certainly gave service with a smile. What a lovely girl so pleasant and polite.

Great service as usual. Food was amazing. I believe 34 of us ate for a birthday meal, all food came out together and no complaints. Staff were superb and helpful. Thank you so much 😊

Been to the sunnyside tonight. Booked a table for 6pm. Met at the door by katie very polite and professional. Signed in and seated at a table. Very covid aware . Felt very safe and comfortable. Staff so polite and friendly. Now to the food. What can I say. Absolutely beautiful. All fresh and cooked and to a very high standard. Nothing was to much trouble. We dont eat out very often but we booked again before we left. Landlord came and spoke he is a very nice guy. Fantastic . Thanks pete and emily. We will be back.

Been here for a few beers decided to book Sunday lunch.Was glad I did reasonable price good portions excellently cooked. Covid safe in fact they have a app if your that way enclined.I had lamb misses had beef and they were perfect lovely lager carling and the also low alcohol beer for the wife stocked well done. Had sweets lovely ill upload picture will be going back and would recommend.I do enjoy waited service even for beers outside its like being abroad I hope they continue it after covid.Give it a try you won't be sorry.

Well done to Pete and the team. Today was our first meal out since lockdown and everyone was very well trained in the new covid rules. Our meals were great as was the service we highly recommend.

We live very near the Sunnyside Inn and had never been. We first went about a fortnight ago for lunch and were surprised by the very varied menu. I don't eat very much meat and was pleased to see a good selection of fish dishes, and I had breaded place. It was piping hot, the fish was lovely and the chunky chips were the best ever. My husband had a huge plate of sausages and mash which he thoroughly enjoyed. The staff were lovely and friendly and came to ask if our meals were ok, which they were.The venue was clean and spacious, and there was a good atmosphere. We went again yesterday. It was just as good, I had a very nice piece of salmon and hubby had an enormous burger, which he demolished! Will definitely go again.

We came here and ordered a gin and tonic. There was no gin. We then inquired what was in the vegan burger. The staff members didn’t know, so much so they bought the back of frozen burgers out to the front and showed me. Not very professional. After reading the ingredients they still were not sure. We then asked for a mojito and the lady replied ‘I’m sorry the coffee machine is broken at the minute, waiting on a new grinder’. I mean??? However we did order fries and these were good for the price, so recommend those

popped in for a Saturday lunch and found the Sunnyside to be very welcoming and friendly. The food was good and got really busy, so very popular place.

We went as a large group with specific dietary requirements and the service was fantastic. Nothing was to much trouble and the staff were extremely helpful. We will definitely be back.

This is my local pub and I visit regularly with family and friends and they always make us feel very welcome and they manage to sustain a great atmosphere throughout the week, Always got good food and great customer service.

Came in with my family over the weekend, was very busy but still had excellent service from everyone! Food was lovely, I had the lasagne which was cooked to perfection! There was a bit of a wait but we didn’t mind as we could see it was busy and they informed us at the bar as we ordered. Will definitely be returning as we felt very welcome

Came in on sunday afternoon, first time i have visited in a while, was told it would be a 40 minute wait after an hour and 10mins i had to ask for our food, they bought us our food one of which was a sunday roast 10 mins later they bought out the veg for the roast not good enough

Booked a table here for 12, looking forward to cheering the family up after a family bereavement, however we all left in disappointment with the food and service. Staff were rude however there was one young man behind the bar who was very helpful. When ordering I asked if I could double up on the chicken as this used to be an option and was told I couldn’t, however asked different member of staff afterwards to be told in fact you could double up. So your staff are losing you money, second of all asked for a gin and when received it come into a straight glass when asking the staff if we could have a gin glass we were told if we had a double they would change it, then when asked if we would like a double we agreed and her reply was ‘it is very expensive to have a double’ losing your restaurant more money by putting us off. The sunnyside used to be a regular for food, food was amazing and cheap. Now it is over priced and very downhill. Meals had to be sent back as they were cold, things were not brought out at the same time as other bits of the same meal. Disappointing meal to say the least.

After a visit here with family after a family bereavement we were left very disappointed and not wanting to return. We have been here many times before and not once had a problem, food used to be lovely and cheap and staff were polite but this place has gone downhill very quickly, in such a short space of time. First of all caroline behind the bar was very rude and had a stinking attitude. We were then told food would take 40 minutes. We were fine with this. However food then came out 1 hour and 45 minutes later and completely below standard. The fries that came with some meals were cold and had to be sent back. The jacket potato i had was barely a mouthful and was dry, the "tuna mayo" that also came with it was dry, barely had mayo in, had to add more to even manage to eat some of the potato. The gammon my dad and sister had was very fatty and looked as though it had just be shown the grill, was only just cooked. The chips that came with them, hard and extremely greasy as if they had been cooked and then thrown back in the chip pan to warm up. The kids meals with beans on looked as though they had been left waiting on a hot plate for ages, beans had gone dry, even a 9 year old said they were disgusting and kids plates were burning hot. One member of the family had a roast dinner in which only the meat was edible, not nice though and the veg was brought out 15 minutes after her dinner had been brought out. These should be brought out together. Liver, onions and mash wasnt very nice either.Now I dont know whats changed but we have never once had to complain and there was a lot that was wrong with this place on this visit. We all left saying we wouldnt return and that disappoints me as this would normally be our go to place if going out for a meal. Not one person enjoyed their dinner.

We have been regulars at the Sunny for a while now and for the last two years we have had the Xmas dinner. Both years have been amazing with the whole family enjoying a laid back feast with full table service. Pete and Emily go out of their way to make the whole meal amazing. I had the turkey and my wife had the venison. All of the plates were cleared. Before we had even finished we had booked again for 2020. Whilst it is packed in the bar area the food area was just for diners and the table is yours until close. This makes the experience even better. You can take your time to fully enjoy the delicious food and no one rushed you to finish. Once again thank you to Pete and Emily at the Sunny

Five of us visited for lunch and were really impressed by the friendly service and excellent food. The fish and chips in particular got a rave review and all the meat was very impressive. Prices were very reasonable too.

Its a lovely building inside and out and the staff are very friendly, however we went for food and it took nearly an hour before we received it. we were aware it would take up to 35 minutes as one of out party ordered a pizza. However the pizza was not worth the money or the wait it looked like a cheap microwave pizza from the shop.The service was brilliant otherwise, there was no apology for the long wait.

First time eating here and I was pleasantly surprised. The food was really good, staff were friendly and accommodating, but ... it was REALLY noisy!! It doesn't have a lot by way of atmospheric surroundings but my goodness, would it benefit from some sound dampening! Made it a very strained atmosphere during the meal with friends, trying to have a catch up! If I go again I think I'll try a lunchtime, maybe not so busy and noisy!? Good food though, and reasonably priced.

We visited here a few days ago for a family meal and drinks, the pub was clean, tidy and well decorated. The owners have clearly spent a lot of time turning this place around. We were greeted as soon as we walked through the door which was a lovely friendly touch. The staff were all smiley and attentive and we were served promptly. There was football on and it's seemed quite busy but the staff noticed we had my nan with us who is quite old and doesn't like too much noise and seated us in a lovely quiet area where we could barely hear the football. I was shocked at the lack of shouting and screaming by the customers watching the football as usually you would expect them to be very louse and boisterous however they all seemed very calm and considerate of the others dining. The menu was extensive but cheap and as one of our group was vegetarian we expected to run into trouble with the menu however it has a large range of dishes for vegetarians the food came out at a reasonable time and it was delicious not a single complaint was to be had by any of us. All around a fantastic visit. I would highly recommend this place especially for big family meals. Thank you for a lovely visit

I went to the Sunnyside for a lovely meal with my family (my sister lives in the local area) There were around 16 of us in total. We had spoken to the owners of the pub before arriving to give them some time to arrange the space for such a large group of people. They were both more then accommodating. When we arrived Pete and Emily (Both owners) came over to make sure that we were well looked after and made comfortable with the seating arrangements.

Popped in to the Sunnyside for a bite to eat while in the area visiting family, we all had a steak and I don't think I have had such a nice steak for a long time with a choice of sauces. I will admit to being a fan of cask ales and it was nice to see a choice of ales and others soon to be ready, served in 'olde' dimple jugs not jam jars like the Aussies use????!

I recently came to the Sunnyside for a meal with my partners family and am blown away by service from both staff and management. The food was amazing (as always) and the management and staff were extremely helpful and friendly with a smile and greeting as soon as you walk through the door. Upon arriving I could see that Peter and Emily (the management) have worked hard on the restaurant as everything is newly refurbished, looking modern and fresh. I have been coming to to the Sunnyside for a few years now and have never had anything to grumble about, the only problem for me is that I live a bit further away but always pop in whenever we're passing through.

Had a meal for a family meetup, really impressed with the food, particularly their pizzas, the staff and service was second to none. It's just a shame the pub isn't closer to home for me.

I visited this place with my family for my 18TH birthday today, and never will o be returning!

Sat down to try and enjoy my sisters birthday (18th in mind) and went to the bar with her to order her drinks. When the OWNER of all people walked past and laughed at the way she looked and muttered the words "err look at that" and then had the audacity to start a conversation with another customer about the way she looked. When we complained about it he offered a free drink, and because we declined he tried to throw us out the pub! I used to think this was a friendly welcoming pub and I feel embarrassed that I was the one who suggested it. It has ruined the atmosphere made the whole table of 12 feel uncomfortable. I am disgusted that an owner of what is supposed to be a community place is prejudice! I definitely do not suggest going here, especially if your face doesn't fit and your not a bigot.

Booked table number five, one which we are happy with generally for 6.30 on Sunday evening. On arrival the table was occupied and a reservation card was on table 7 for us. Well - ok, it was busy. It went downhill from there though, after ordering at about 6.25pm, we were still waiting for our meal at 7.30 pm! What added insult to injury was the fact that the occupants of table 5 (4 men) were using disgusting language which I found objectionable due to the presence of my Wife, Son & Grandson during this long wait. Highly embarrassing.

Visited the sunnyside on a quiet Monday evening.

This is the first time that I have been here since it has been refurbished. The staff were wonderful, they allowed my sister to decorate our table for mum's 80th birthday and they suggested the best place to sit with other members of the family joining us later. We ordered our food and it was delivered to us in the right amount of time. The prawn cocktails were delicious, the main was delivered to us, the salmon & sauce as my sister said was perfect, mum enjoyed the Yorkshire wrap even though it was too much for her, however, my beef baguette was as good as I imagined it would be, it came recommended by a family member, however, the beef was on the tough side and there was no butter/spread on the baguette which made it taste dry. The chips were nice though. There service was the staff was impeccable we could not have asked for better people. The atmosphere was friendly, even if a little loud with children running around, but that's not the staff's fault. In general my mum enjoyed her 80th here and we will definitely be coming back. Although I've driven past the Sunnyside many times, this was the first time I've ventured inside. To be honest the outside doesn't look like it's a hub of fine dining, but rather just another 60s boozer- the king of pub which was once a common sight in suburban housing estates.

Fantastic food great value all served with a smile great choice of gin and they will even do take away pizza if you request brilliant! Bar manager is lovely ?!

It's Wednesday night again and where to go for our weekly meal out? We choose the Sunnyside Inn at Northumberland ave Nuneaton. As we arrived the pub was just starting to get busy so we ordered as soon as we got a table and read the menu.

Went there with family to meet up with friends from Leicester. When I booked, I explained that a few of the party were in their 80s and the lady advised she would sit us in an alcove where it would be quieter. We duly were placed in probably the quietest spot and were there for over 3 hours. Food very good - large portions and the lady who had the ploughman's lunch got to take the cheese home that she didn't eat. The prices were very competitive and would definitely recommend.

My son told me about this place tried it and wasn't disappointed absolute gem staff friendly service great food spot on prices good will most certainly be back

We have just been to the Sunnyside for the second Sunday running. Can't fault the food the staff are brilliant and you've changed the beer so my husband is happy! We've just booked for next Sunday.

We visited the Sunnyside Inn with friends and had a great time. The food was of top quality at competitive prices. My friend would recommend the beef Yorkshire pudding wrap. The atmosphere in the pub was lively but not too noisy and we could still chat while eating. Would recommend the menu to anyone looking for great food, especially the steaks which are exceptional.

The external appearance of the place doesn't grab you but don't let that put you off. Step inside and things improve greatly, nice atmosphere, and friendly staff. We were a party of 12 for a weekday lunch all of us were very happy with the meals be it Fish and Chips, Steak, mixed grill, pasta or Yorkshire pudding wrapped meat. All very tasty and well cooked. Not all the meals arrived at the same time but that didn't worry us.

The " Moon under Water" is an idealised Pub, imagined by George Orwell, author of "Animal Farm and 1984 back in 1943. Unfortunately Wetherspoons have mischevously purloined the name for several of their pubs. They don't meet Orwell's criteria, the Sunnyside Inn definitely does.

Never ever been in this pub before but we had arranged to meet up with friends that had travelled from out of town .

Everything we got was either fried or microwaved.

we only went here by chance we deiced to go to lunch with my son and his girlfriend to our local pub, but it was closed for some reason, so we tried another pub which did not open on Mondays for meals and they suggested going to the sunnyside Inn, what a lovely restaurant friendly staff and good food very reasonably priced will defiantly be going there again. recommend giving it a try

Went Saturday night for Andie’s 13th birthday was a fantastic evening with family and friends. The Sunnyside allowed my wife Debra in early to decorate the table ready for later on which was so good of the staff to allow her to do. We all arrived about the same time the bar staff where excellent didn’t have to wait long to be served. We ordered our food and although there was 11 of us all the food arrived together and was piping hot the waitress where so good and very polite. The menu is very good something for everyone the food didn’t disappoint it was really good and tasted excellent. There nothing negative about this place it’s so well run and good staff a defiant 10/10 thanks for a great night. We where also aloud to take our own birthday cake which they also brought out for us and lit the candles a really nice touch

This public house is full of surprises it truly has established itself at the heart of the community and really does try to appeal to everyones tastes .

Been to The Sunnyside a number of times, standard has always been excellent, a good selection of well kept beers and a good menu, the food is well cooked and presented, service is excellent, it has recently been decorated to a high standard, children seem happy there and in the summer there is a no smoking outside seating area,

I have lived near by for 20+ years and never went in until the refurb a few years ago. The latest refurb is bright and fresh, the food is still as good using local sourced suppliers and the staff as friendly as ever.

Recently visited the sunnyside inn to see the completed refurbishments and wow they are absolutely amazing. I Love everything that has been done and would highly recommend everyone to go and enjoy a lovely meal and a couple of drinks.

Food was standard rating, for saying it’s a chain food, let down by puddings £4:99 for a small portion , I would advise to revise your prising on puddings , pricing on main meals is fine I just believe the price of your puddings are slightly overpriced for what’s you get.

We went there on a Wednesday and got a seat right away without booking. I ordered our food and drink and was served by a very friendly barman. It was only a wait of 20 minutes before we got our food. It waa served hot and looked a good size portion. I had the Chicken New Yorker and the wife had Italian chicken both were very tasty and for the price we paid it was excellent value. Would we go again? Yes we would, the pub is very clean, the staff are friendly and helpful and the food is great value for money.

It's probable that most of the people that come here are form the surrounding houses as its located on an estate outside of the town so possibly not a first choice if you're looking to eat out. Typical pub food at OK prices - steaks were fine but I've never had a rib-eye so thin. Service was very matter of fact without a hint of a smile or welcome. Unlikely a return visit on the cards as were taken here after a lovely day in the Cotswolds with family. Not impressed.

had drinks here, to say farewell to a friend who was relocating to norfolk sadly, but pleasant enough place, didnt eat here but all looked good, clean, friendly, plenty of parking, so no complaints from the few hours spent there.

Visited the sunnyside on a Friday evening was very welcoming and a great atmosphere. Ordered a pizza to take away and what can I say it was the best pizza I have ever eaten. Staff and management are very friendly and helpful and always with a smile on their faces. Cannot recommend the sunnyside enough.

Came to The Sunnyside Inn on a Wednesday night for food and a drink with the wife, spent the evening listening to the manager shout at all of the workers in a very rude manner. I Personally thought the staff were very friendly and helpful and gave an amazing service. I was always greeted with a smile. Unfortunately i spent the night feeling sorry for the workers for being treated so poorly. Food was nice and bar staff and floor staff were very lovely and gave a 10/10 service. Just a shame i hear the manager be so mean.

I came into the sunnyside with my young family and whilst we were eating our dinner one of the managers started shouting at the staff in a vile way in front of customers. This was my first time visiting this pub and I will not be coming again, especially not with my children.

The pub itself is beautifully done out, and the food is lovely especially the Sunday roast. Only issue is the loud and obnoxious regulars who seem to think they own the place and make it very uncomfortable to enjoy yourself on quieter days...

Went for a lunch time meal been before for Sunday lunch wasn't overly impressed but ok read the reviews so thought I might give it another chance wish I hadn't as the food was awful couldn't even eat eat it will never return

Having recently moved to the area upon a recommendation we thought we would pop in for a drink what friendly relaxed environment this pub is (credit to the landlord/landlady)

Brilliant place to go. Food is excellent burgers are a must and the pizza is something else. Good atmosphere and friendly staff. Couldn't ask for more tbf.

Hadent been for a while but normally good.

Thought we would try this local, while visiting my Mum in law. Had a bit of a wait for food as they were so busy - but it was DEF worth the wait.

Stopped for some food after a recommendation as we were in the area. Great food and exceptional value for money. Busy family bar and restaurant with lovely staff. Would highly recommend.

Needed to kill a couple of hours so went here for a bit of lunch. The staff are super nice and helpful. Lovely decor. Had a simple lunch which was not over priced at all and was yummy. Well done all.

We stopped off here on our way to a show in the town centre. We are not local to the area so knew nothing about the pub other than what we had read on Tripadvisor. We found a fairly large pub located on a housing estate. There is a large car park with plenty of parking. The pub was busy and were lucky to find an empty table. Service at the bar was efficient and friendly. The menu had plenty of choices and was well priced. Although busy we only had a short wait for food to be served. Service at the table was again efficient and friendly. Food was very tasty and very good value for money. We would certainly recommend the pub to others and would visit again should we find ourselves in the area in the future

My wife and I (25 & 31) just visited this pub for a meal and a drink and were pleasantly surprised. Good all round service and the pub was clean and attractive, sky sports on the tv and the food was very good, definitely value...
