I meet up with friends here often, good food, friendly staff and great value. Coffee and teacake the best in town.

Just had the most amazing lunch with my husband. Great value for money, great menu. Excellent service. Will be going there regularly now.

Amazingly large menu for size of restaurant, good quality food, reasonably priced and well presented. No on site parking but large Council operated car park nearby.

Had a lovely roast dinner delivered today. Within 40 mins of ordering we were eating it. Everything was cooked lovely and it was huge. We had beef & ham which was very thickly sliced, mash, roast potatoes, stuffing, yorkie, cauliflower cheese and a mixture of vegetables plus 2 tubs of gravy. Really nice food.

There were 17 of us that visited Alara at the very last minute due to a cancellation elsewhere. Asked if they could accommodate such a large booking at short notice (1 1/2 hours) checked with the chef and agreed as long as we pre-ordered. Which we did. Arrived at 12pm and the service was impeccable. Chloe was serving on her own and dealt with other customers also. Food was brilliant, drinks were great. Such fabulous service for our colleagues 40th Birthday. They saved the day! Thank you Javid and Chloe.

Visited here with a group of friends for lunch. The place was clean despite some modernisation going on. Service was excellent and the menu was great, plenty to choose from. The prices were reasonable and the portion sizes were amazing. I had the fish and chips and it was served with peas, salad, chips and not one but two fillets of fish along with tartare sauce. Delicious and would recommend

Asked for two poached eggs on toast, not a tricky dish by all accounts but it came and well looked like a rate my plate on facebook 😂 rubber and inedible. I’d have sent it back but the waitress was nowhere to be seen and I just wanted to go. Never even asked if it was ok when I handed her the plate back still full. Waste of time and money. Won’t be back. I give it two stars for the coffee as that was nice

I would highly recommend this restaurant for food and drinks . The atmosphere was nice and chilled , a lovely environment to be in , also with lovely welcoming staff to welcome you . The food was the nicest ive had in a lobg time . Cheers to colette and tim for highly recommending this rrstaurant . We will definetely be revisiting on our next visit to the uk. Xx

I was looking for somewhere to sit down and have an ice-cream but there didn't seem to be any ice-cream shops. Then my husband spotted Alara, hidden away in Newdegate Street. A lovely Bistro! I was offered a meringue nest filled with ice-cream, chocolate and berries. It was delicious! Thank you to the staff for obliging me. It's a little bit out of the way but it's worth finding. We recommend it.

Visited with 2 friends on Thursday evening. Food was excellent … generous portion size and very tasty. Would recommend both the beef stroganoff & lasagne. Good customer service.

Enjoyed Sunday lunch which was very good. Staff very friendly. On the down side it was very cold and delivery staff were constantly walking in and out creating an icy blast and was really quite off-putting to be honest. Is there a rear door they can use..? A "thank you Gaz" reply months later is not very appropriate. Disappointing...

Went for breakfast here and wasn't disappointed. English Breakfast is so simple but so many places get it wrong with cheap ingredients but I was very impressed with the quality of the sausages in particular. Coffee was good too and all very reasonably priced. I would recommend.

Booked a table for Mother’s Day. There were 12 of us on the later sitting 3pm. Sat down took 30 minutes to get drinks. Then another 40 minutes to get our meals. Meals were ok nothing special basic Sunday lunches. Continuously had to keep asking for more drinks, sauces etc. when we finished one of the party asked for the meat to be put in a takeaway box. The lady took the plate and came back with empty boxes for us to put the food in. When asked where the plate of meat had gone she said oh I thought you didn’t want it so it’s in the bin. Order deserts well kids ice cream came out after 20 minutes we were at this time the last table, no tea spoons for them desert spoons for under 5’s umm. One of the ice creams was served in a wine glass with a big chip in it. This is for a child again no standards. We then had to ask for our other deserts which came out after another 10 minutes. Please don’t waste your money. The owners leave it to their young staff to run the place. We definitely will NOT be back. Plenty of better restaurants around. Your younger staff work so hard for you and face the problems. You should be ashamed.

Great service and Susan was very polite. We only had a toasted sandwich but we couldn't finish so we took half home. Coffee was good and we will visit in the near future. 😊

Visited for a 2nd time after being persuaded by family after a bad experience on the 1st visit some months ago. 3 meals brought out after a 40 minute wait (not even busy). About 5 minutes later a further dish was brought out but wasn’t what was ordered. It then took another 5 minutes to bring out the correct dish and 1 further meal didn’t even turn up. By this point the other meals had been eaten. After asking a waitress about the missing meal she didn’t know and we were then told by someone else that the chef hadn’t received the whole order due to a problem with the till roll when they had put the order through. Told them to forget it as everyone else had finished! No apology or anything. Terrible customer service. Will definitely not be returning.

Asked for a scampi salad and more like a side salad. with peas, never known a salad to come with peas so not sure if they accidentally sent me a traditional meal rather then salad

Ordered the Sunday ‘roast beef’ but asked that they substituted the mash for a couple of extra roast potatoes. The server agreed. The meal came with lots of undercooked roast potatoes and mixed veg served up lukewarm on a cold plate. Didn’t bother complaining as the place seemed to be entirely staffed by teenage girls. The bill came to a stunning £16.75 as I was charged an extra £3 for my substitution. You could buy a decent proper roast in most local hotels for that money. More like a transport cafe than the bar, grill and bistro that it styles itself. You can do far better for a Sunday lunch and eat in comfort at almost any pub carvery. At least it would be properly cooked and you can see what you are being served. Oh well, I guess that’s typical of Treacle Town, as Nuneaton is known. Never again!

I was not for a Food, just for a hot Drink. I've got it quite quick. Hillaras coffee shoo- Sticky Tables, toilet is very small, not a lot People, the Coffee doesn't taste like a Coffee, Menus are piled on a Different Table,  so you have e to go and find it if you want to order some Food, lovely presentation,  the Cake was an  Amazing one, Tables Sizes are various,  not so easy to find, next to it is The Silk Mill where you can play POOL and watch TV Sports, the Price is okey, not too expensive so afterwards you can go for a Drink to the Pub acrossthe Street.

Had a roast dinner delivered. 3 slices of beef that was far to over cooked, very dry. The vegetables must have been boiled for that long they were just mushy, couldn’t eat them. The mash tasted like baked potatoes were used, not nice at all. The roast potatoes were nice thou, as was the gravy.

We have just had a fantastic afternoon at alara celebrating our daughters 18th .Firstly Harmony,Scarlett and Alice were outstanding waitresses the restaurant was really busy but our party of 16 had amazing service as always the food was excellent and there was quite a selection of different mains all the food was hot fresh and we were all served together.Thank you

We ordered our food and it was set to be delivered for 18:05pm today. At 18:00pm we got a message saying that our order had been cancelled - not only was this a complete waste of our time but it also screwed us around as we have someone with ill health who has been looking forward to this all day . Thanks guys, awesome job.

Lovely place. Bit disorganised though and slow service. I guess Saturday is busy and the food was worth the wait. Clean your tables quicker though!

Popped in for late lunch on a Sunny, but windy Saturday afternoon. Tuna mayo panini at least was made with nice bread. Turkey stuffing batch was a generous portion-size, but no better than I could make myself. Americano coffee was drinkable but the mocha was really poor. Given the amount of competition nearby, this is not somewhere to which I'd return.

Been here 4 or 5 times over the last few months. Always great service. Always clean. Always good quality food, fresh salad and good portion sizes. Good value for money. Lovely staff. Clean toilets. Easy access with the pushchair no matter where I decide to sit. My new regular!

Well all can say you should be ashamed of yourselves. You have ruined a family day because of an ubers errors not ours. God forbid you have a dying family member all you want is meal together. You've lost custom now absolutely appalling.

Went back today to see if breakfast would be as good as the first time (last month). It was, food was really tasty, served fresh and hot, and plenty of it. Even the tea was lovely, served in medium sized cups, not too big, not too little. I'm sure I'll be back cause the wife loves the breakfast too.

Ordered two turkey dinners through Uber order was cancelled 6 minutes before it should have arrived Phoned alars was told it was a system error but I could collect at the full price Outrageous will never use again

I use to love the place regardless always long wait for us (family of 6). We went for breakfast few times and we did last week. My favourite was the omelette and I ordered it this time. It didn’t taste the same, there were different herbs in it. We had our 8mo with us and I shared my toast with her. She dropped in on the floor and only when picking it up I realised that it was covered in mould! We notified the waiter, chef came to apologise and we didn’t pay for the omelette but the bad taste stayed. We will be looking for different place to eat breakfast.

A family of thirteen we were really looked after, food was amazing, waiting staff were lovely and we would definitely return!

Looking for somewhere to eat with our disabled son in a wheelchair and our dog we came across this lovely Bistro . We were made to feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble. The service was friendly and efficient. The choice on the menu was absolutely fantastic , so much choice. The meals arrive hot and was so delicious. We each had something different and we all thoroughly enjoyed what we had. I had the spinach and ricotta pasta from the vegetarian menu and I would highly recommend it. Very generous portions. We were full for the rest of the day! There is no doubt we will be going back.

We had roast turkey cob with gravy and chips. It was labelled as delicious and it was! The turkey was proper carved turkey. Mmmmmnomnomnom!

Came across this bistro almost by accident. Excellent menu choice. We had been ill and had not eaten for three days so my wife had the mushroom omelette and chips and I had the steak and onion baguette with chips, salad and coleslaw. There was a huge amount of lovely food on both plates. The hot food was definitely hot, the service was excellent from two people managing a busy dining-room very professionally and there was no time delay. We could not finish all the food but I made our very happy feelings known to the lady member of staff. Thank you, we are definitely coming back but I will have to make sure I have not eaten for the week before!!

A friend and I popped into Alara's to grab a quick lunch, and we were very pleased with the food we got. My BLT baguette was enormous and absolutely delicious, and the fry up my friend had was HUGE and incredible for the price. It...

Ordered food and took 2 hours to deliver the food. There was no tissue, no salt, nothing to make the food feel good. Food was absolutely cold, the panini was squeezed so hard that you would think if they knew how to cook. The driver first said he got there late then another excuse was that he had an accident. Driver shows his car but there was no single scratch on his car. Amazing how the hold uncooked food for 2 hours and the lies.

We were looking for Sunday lunch somewhere between Banbury and Stoke so that we could meet up with the grandkids. We read reviews and chose the Alara Bistro and Grill in Nuneaton, we were not disappointed. The Sunday lunch was excellent, the staff were friendly and polite and helpful. Many thanks for the Birthday cake and the chorus. We'll be back despite the 120 mile round trip.
