A very strange place,when you walk in it's like a time warp,however the waiter/chef was very friendly, food was good.

Different, owner was lovely food was good ,service was good , atmosphere was us , no other customers on a Saturday night, sad to say this place may not be there much longer .

Very tasty food, though it overcooked items in the meze. Sea bass ideal, calamari oily. Meats, salad, dips and fruit delicious. 💜

Dined in but no atmosphere as there was only two of us in restaurant very disappointing felt sorry for owner as lunk hch time service was non exsistant won't be going again.

We went to the Sunny on 23.03.24 as a group of 8 friends. It was a trip down memory lane for us all from when we were much younger. The meal was great and authentic greek cypriot and the staff could not do enough for us to make the evening really enjoyable for everyone. We all need local restaurants like yours to ensure that good food and sensible prices make a meal a real occasion with family and friends. I think you will benefit from some advertising and social media exposure to ensure everyone knows you are offering great food! I wish you all the best for the future and I will be back to sample some more great food and take advantage of your Sunday roast dinners.

1st time eating here on a sunny day u would think u were transported back to Greece due to the restaurant being part of a house. Food was very good and plenty of it. Service was very good. Due to it being very quiet and not busy there was a lack of atmosphere but that suited me as I hate trying to talk over noise. Overall a nice couple of hours unrushed and great food

Had dinner here last night. It was the first time I'd been since my birthday a couple of years ago, my boyfriend's first time eating here. The food was absolutely delicious, brought out quickly the service by owner and his (I think) wife was so warm and friendly. I forgot to take photos of the food, but it all tasted fresh and tasty. We both had the calamari for main, which was light and crispy, and tasted amazing. We will definitely be back sooner than last time, it is an absolute gem of a restaurant.

Went for a Christmas get together. Won't be going back. Out of 5 of us that could make it, none of us were overly impressed. The owner was rude when we informed him that for family reasons two of our friends couldn't make it. The food was bog standard at best. And when it came to our puddings, none of the 'comes with a choice of' were offered we had to ask for them. With that and considering the deposit that was taken off the price of the set menus and that there were only two bottle of wine and 3 non alcoholic beers ordered on top the price per person was more then we were all expecting.

Food is very good and for this reason we will return. Service wasn't as it used to be in days past. Atmosphere also wasn't as it used to be.

Great food ,excellent service great price for the food ,atmosphere when busy is excellent, and if you want a quiet meal just you and your partner go early

My first visit to this restaurant. Very friendly owner. This is authentic Greek, so well worth visiting. I had the special Simon lunchtime menu, and very good too. I want to try this place n the evening.

Despite being in need of an update, this place is a secret gem. You'll never leave hungry or out of pocket. Amazing food and manager is lovely..

Excellent food, large portions and lovely staff. All food was very tasty and good value for money, the owner does all the cooking and waitering but service was fast and he was very attentive. I recommend the hummus starter and the moussaka

What a hidden gem this authentic Greek restaurant is. Fantastic food and efficient friendly service at a very reasonable price. Couldn't fault the food the Stiffado was the best my partner had outside of Greece. This place deserves to be packed out every night

Goodness I had forgotten about this restaurant. It was a bit quiet but think its a local gem that deserves another visit.

Just had the most delicious meal to celebrate our anniversary and very glad we chose Sunny’s. We had a selection of starters and I had a stifado and my wife had a souvlaki. Really would recommend this to anyone that enjoys Greek / Mediterranean cuisine.

I contacted the restaurant through their website and received a text back from Hamed the same day to arrange a large family meal for my wife’s 40th. We opted for a number of meze’s which were very reasonably priced for 3 courses. We had a couple of vegans, a veggie and another guest wanted something basic from the standard menu which were all discussed ahead of our booking. We were also put in direct contact with a belly dancer for £90 who we would pay directly on the night. This would add a bit of added fun to the evening. On the day of confirming final numbers so food could be ordered, my party started to reduce in number due to falling ill with Covid and ultimately we had to cancel (fortunately a couple of days before our booking). Hamed was so helpful to discuss menu options, accommodate a large group at relatively short notice and ultimately graciously accept our cancellation I wanted to write something about the excellent service we had received and are really looking forward to eventually eating it Sunny. Went here this evening…. Haven’t been for ages ! The food is still good and prices are reasonable, it’s a shame it’s not so busy as it was years ago ! If you haven’t been for a while give it a try …

Delicious Greek/ Cypriot cuisine with food and dessert to die for

A little bit out of the town centre , but worth the effort, free parking out side , great food at an affordable price . Just needs more customers to give it an atmosphere, so come on folks give it a try , we will definitely be visiting again

We went to Sunnys tonight for dinner , it was just as I remembered ( after not going for about 12 years ) the chef is the same and the food was amazing , I had kelftico for my main and it was so tasty , I will definitely be going back soon .

Decided to take son for a Greek meal for his birthday as he had never tried proper Greek food before. What a wee gem of a find. Host was friendly, jolly and attentive. Food was fresh and cooked to perfection. Some reviews point out the decor as dated Well I suppose its a personal thing to me I found it added to the atmosphere, certainly didn't detract from the quality of the meal. The only thing to be aware of is parking in the general area it's not great. Overall Quality of food excellent. Host friendly and attentive. Value for money excellent Well worth the visit and support in the post Covid era.

Food was exquisite! the atmosphere was wonderful, very homely and welcoming. The owners are absolutely lovely people! I would definitely recommend to friends and family and will certainly come again. Great introduction to Greek food

This is a lovely little restaurant in East Worthing. The food is spectacular, tasty and served in good time. We checked the menu out before going and if you want the Meze you must state that in advance, 48 hours I think. The only lager available was bottles of Keo large and small, but no Carling as it said on the website. We really enjoyed our meal, the only thing that let this restaurant down was the toilets.

Very disappointed. 2 of the party were told that if they wanted something from a kebab shop, they should go to a kebab shop... not what you'd class as good service (and why put it on the menu if you don't want people to order it!) The food was tasteless and the atmosphere was non existent which was a real shame as we had been looking forward to out trip there.

Me and my family had such a amazing dinner here for my birthday last week. The owner was absolutely lovely and the food was so delicious. Empty plates all round! Highly recommend here, it's a lovely, quiet, authentic Greek restaurant! I sadly didn't take any photos of the food as we were too busy eating It but next time I come I will take pictures as it was presented beautifully!

Not a posh Restaurant but certainly up there with the best for food, the Fillet Steaks are gorgeous and the Stroganoff is lovely too, we have visited twice recently and will be back soon the prices are the best around, they have not increased in 10 years.

I used to come here as a child, around 35 to 40 years ago and loved it. Revisiting has been very special. It's a lovely trip back in time. Great service and nice food. A really special gem and so utterly wonderful to revisit.

6 of us had a wonderful meze here. The owner was very helpful and friendly. We will definitely return for such delicious food. It is certainly worth a try if you like Mediterranean food.

First time visiting this gem, one of the oldest Greek restaurants in Sussex. Although slightly dated the restaurant ozzes character. The food was hot, fresh and delicious. We will definitely be back!

Food was excellent and good service. Shame we were the only clients this evening. Restaurants like this should be supported.

As a part Cypriot I was very excited to have the chance to go a Mediterranean cuisine restaurant, with the hope of eating some of my favourite foods. I wasn't disappointed, we were well looked after, and the food was very good - I wasn't expecting it to be as good as it was. That said, I'm not sure if the food / grills were cooked over coals it didn't quite seem like they were - that doesn't mean it wasn't good, but just lacked that authentic Cypriot / Greek element. Perhaps it's a legal / consent issue with smoke. However, the Kleftiko was beautiful - melt in the mouth, fall off the bone lamb as it should be. That in itself was worth it. The mezes were great, the portions generous - they even serve Keo! Only issue was the lack of people / atmosphere.

Having booked, we were the only people in there. We were then told our choice would take 45minutes, and as my husband was very hungry, he chose something else. The food was good, but there was no atmosphere at all. This is the second time this has happened, and although we have been going to this restaurant for many years, fear it will not survive much longer.

We first visited this restaurant about 30 years ago and have visited many times over the intervening years. The great thing is that the quality of the food has remained excellent and constant throughout that time, probably because the Chef has been there 34 years ! He now owns he restaurant after the original owners returned to Cyprus. The Greek and Cypriot food is very authentic but this place has also always been famed for two things - Greek food and steaks. My wife had the afelia with village salad and it was very good. She normally has moussaka (as she says it’s the best she’s had outside Cyprus). I went back to my first few visits here all those years ago and had steak, Fillet Maison. A large, tender fillet steak, cooked to perfection, and with a beautiful sauce of mushroom, onion, cream and brandy. It’s one of the few places that still has T bone on the menu, having said that their Greek food (and Meze) are also excellent. Really nice to see a place that is consistently good, and everyone we have recommended Sunny to, over the years, have been really pleased with the food. Whether you like ‘Greek’ or Steaks then give it a go,the now Owner / Chef seems to genuinely embrace the Greek hospitality that typifies Greece and Cyprus.

The staff and the chef are ultra friendly and helpful and fast, but genuinely so, they are genuinely glad to see you. The decor is slightly jaded but pleasant and creates a very cosy friendly atmosphere. The wine is absolutely delicious, so is the coffee. The food is very very good, I had chicken in a creamy mushroom sauce and I found the chicken a bit tough but my wife thought it was fine and her own meal excellent. The apple pie was exquisite. Prices very reasonable. Everything comes together here to create a happy enjoyable evening and really, thats all that matters.

the food is good but i don't like the service

Just been to a Sunny Restaurant. A quiet little Greek restaurant in Ham Road. Food was delicious, went on the governments eat in, help out scheme, so half price! Menu not extensive but has all the usual favourites you would expect in a Greek restaurant. Only criticism would be that the decor is a bit dated and the sign outside could do with a clean and the bushes around it cut back to make it look more inviting.

We arrived late as booked but welcomed. Food delicious 😋 and all great 😊

Went to Sunny Restaurant with some friends and my family for a wonderful evening out! Honestly, it was a first for me to try out something totally different. Never been to a Greek Restaurant until this point! The food and its Cuisine was rather unique and absolutely fantastic experience. I hope to sometime, return there again. I definitely recommend this to anyone who is looking for a different meal out altogether.

Very nice meal we had. It was only us in but that doesn't change the quality of food and service. The restaurant is run by a one man army, the owner cooks, serving, cleaning. Very nice man, overall always a pleasure. Give it a go, more likely you'll like it especially if you prefer a quieter place.

The staff are charming especially the owner. The food, well it has to be said is average and not really authentic Greek cuisine but it is good, very well prepared with a lot of love and energy and is excellent value for money.The decor is drab and tired, lots of Greek pictures on the walls would have been nice.All in all it was very very good. I had a knife that wasn't cleaned properly, these little details say a lot, the waiter should have noticed it when laying the table.

Visited Sunny on the 18th January with friends, we had an amazing evening food was excellent, service was great, made us feel welcome straight away, well worth a visit highly recommend sunny for a great relaxing meal out.

I recently had a birthday at Sunnys and cannot praise the staff enough.we had a vegan amongst Us and my sister is gluten free, both were well catered for as were the other twenty in the party The food was delicious and the staff very attentive. Having the belly dancer turned the night in To a real party affair. Thank you Hamid we will certainly be coming back

We decided to try The Sunny restaurant again and were not disappointed. Extremely tasty and good freshly cooked greek food. Efficient friendly service in true greek style with pleasant music at a good volume. Definitely be back again before Christmas!

Gone downhill since we last went which is a shame. I ordered the Meze for two a couple of days earlier when booking the table so as to get the full Monty. Fair enough we didn't get the Bass as there was only two of us but not getting the Kleftico (slow cooked lamb) was in my opinion not right for a Meze!

Our group of four were the only people in on a Sunday evening in August. The restaurant is looking tired and I think some of the crockery has been in use since it opened in the 1960s.... but it is clean and so very, very welcoming and friendly. The prices were low, and the food was fantastic. I think this is our new favourite restaurant in West Sussex.

It was what I would imagine stepping back into the 1980's world be like.

We have been occasionally visiting the Sunny for over 30 years now, and once had a Christmas dinner there. It has been run by the same family for many years, and the decor has remained very much the same, which adds to its charm. On the day we visited recently, we were the only customers, and although the food was great, I wonder how long it can survive. The manager/chef/waiter (only staff on duty), said we were lucky, as it was like private dining. I hope this restaurant does not go out of business through lack of business.

Very friendly welcome Starters were very good. Mains slightly different than expected.. the Kleftico lamb was very generous and beautifully cooked but there was no sauce. The meat was very lovely though. My daughter had chicken which was very tender and tasty. The Afelia was different though, the sauce more like gravy and with less spices than we would expect. Overall value for money .

Not the normal location this is a converted end-of-terrace house. Great authentic food, and efficient service. Surprisingly little known and used - well worth returning!

My last visit was around 30 years ago, the place was just as I remembered it, brightly lit, absolutely no "ambience", everything looking "tired", indeed absolutely nothing to recommend it except the food which was traditional Greek and very tasty, good value too!

good meze starters though houmous was not that good, plentiful and tasty meze mains, liked the whitebait, very good lamb shank, rice was soggy, pleasant service, nice Cyprus cold beer, given mini baklavas on the house a nice touch, look out for parking restrictions, very quiet on a friday night.

The food was awful, it was like it was a microwave dish that had been burnt. No one in my party enjoyed their meal...the waitresses though were really nice and friendly, the best thing going for that place. Shame I was really looking forward to eating there too!!

Absolutely rubbish ordered starters could not eat it . Walked out never go there again very poor we were the only people in there at 7.30 on a Friday evening can now see why

We booked a Friday evening and were stunned to find ourselves the only customers. Our garlic mushrooms came out absolutely saturated in oil and so rubbery that you couldn't cut them. We physically could not eat them. On talking to the chef, he argued that the mushrooms were fresh, that that was the way they were cooked in Greece, that he'd never had any complaints before and that we clearly didn't eat garlic mushrooms very often!! Needless to say we didn't stay to suffer the main course. The whole place was very tired and smelt very stale. This is the first time that we have ever walked out of a restaurant but we were absolutely unable to eat the food presented. Terrible experience!

Very quiet considering it was a Saturday night. The food was pleasant and fresh but nothing to write home about. My wife had lamb shank, which was ok, I had moussaka, which was nice.

This is great little restaurant with a good menu there is something on the menu for all tastes. The food is cooked fresh and the service is excellent. The only downside is that the night we went there to were not many customers which is a shame because it is an excellent place to dine

Three of us visited last week and although for a Friday night it was quiet the food was excellent. Two of us had Moussaka and the other person a steak. There was a long wait for our meals but it was worth it. Its such a shame more people don't give it a try,

Used to be amazing here, our family has been visiting for 15 years, it's never been very speedy service but worth the wait, the past 2 visits have been horrendous, awful service and it's gone massively down hill.
