No atmosphere, very slow service and not a smile to be seen. The eggs looked like they were fresh from the battery farm. Get yourself down to Leon for a nicer and friendlier experience

Do not eat here…. The food is awful, we asked for prochetta and cheese croissants hot! they came barely warm, we had to send them back twice more only to get shrivelled croissants that had been microwaved. They were fatty with very little cheese and completely tasteless and at £9 each I was thoroughly disappointed and couldn’t even eat it. To top it off without even letting us know they added nearly £4 tip to the bill. What happened to the days when tips were given for exceptional service or food? Why do food outlets now feel it’s a right to charge tips 😡

Half of the menu items on the app you can’t order. No real queue management if you do have to order at the counter (because the app won’t let you order half the things). Then when I ordered a cocktail for my table, I wondered why it was taking SO LONG. Turns out it was just sitting on the take away coffee counter. Food was average. Chips could be used as a bludgeon. Shocking really for the price.

Don't remember the last time I had food that bad. Do yourself a favour and go to Leon or something instead across the way, much better food for half the cost. On the plus side, the service was fine and it was clean.

The vegetarian and vegan options are bad enough, but when I went they had completely run out of the only vegetarian child meal. I asked for the vegetarian breakfast meal instead but was told that this was not available. When I complained about the lack of options, a staff member laughed at me.

Ordered 2 mins before 11 am and the waiter didn't have the courtesy to tell me the kidseatfree offer was from 11 am. And the food was isht on top of that. Don't start your holiday on a bad note here.

Staff who served me at the counter seemed stressed and annoyed. No signs up explicitly saying to grab a table first before ordering at the counter - leaving my luggage unattended to do so!! Ordered the Salmon says Bagel with a bottle of regular coke. Had to emphasise 'regular' twice as she kept trying to give me Zero. Not sure if she was hinting at my weight, or trying to get rid of stock. Wait for food wasn't too bad but the food itself was so lack lustre. Salmon didn't cover the bagel halves fully, the salad was literally just sliced cucumbers, sliced onions and some tasteless sauce. The only thing I really liked was the music and the seating - which there wasn't much of, but was still comfortable. Not a restaurant I'll be visiting again in the future.

So grateful to the staff for helping me out with a very tired toddler and travelling alone. Thank you so much!

The only thing good about the place is the fact that it has chairs for you to sit. Food is overpriced (sure, all food on an airport is, but there’s a standard). Portion is ridiculously small and, all of it, came cold. Table has a number for the order and yet, the waiter comes out and says the order out loud to the entire place. If you listened, good, if you didn’t, tough luck. Again, we waited 15 min for chips (?!). Didn’t take responsibility and blamed it on us: “sorry, nobody said anything“ Also, on our bill, there were £4 unaccounted for. No matter how hungry nor how tired, don’t waste your time nor your money in this place. Edit: we end up finding the receipt and confirmed. The waiter straight up lied and refused to serve what we paid for.

Haver no idea what the negative reviews are on about! This place was great, calm quiet space in an other bonkers Stansted, but still friendly and cheery. Price was consistent with other venues, but an excellent burger, far better than the other offerings on site. Waiter went above and beyond, really friendly and hardworking. Really, best place at Stansted! Let's hope no one else finds out! I want to find space here next time! 😉

I have to say that the customers service was fantastic. The young tall guy who served me and my bf was a 5 star waiter!

Just had a cup of tea here and when i went to pay £3, the option to add a tip came up automatically . The option to have no tip was at the bottom of the screen and did not seem to work?. I have no problem with tips, but asking for a tip to put hot water and a teabag in a paper cup is just silly. The tip of 30p was added anyway despite selecting the no tip option..

Actually one of the worst establishments I’ve spent my money on. Ordered a salmon bagel which was vile and waited just under 30 MINUTES!!! Staff seem miserable

Was eating my sad 12£ reheated pancakes while management berated a staff member in a performance review next to me. I felt extremely awkward the whole time as it was an aggressive tone used by management. There needs to be a better place to have these talks, not loudly and next to customers

Stansted airport is a dismal place at the best of times, but none more so than when being mugged for "breakfast" in this awful mock-cafe. Everything including the eggs are clearly cooked on advance and partially reheated (mostly cold), stale and hard. A disgusting way to waste £16 per head and end up with your holiday ruined by stomach issues. It is unbelievable how little the owners care about managing a sustainable business. It will surely close down shortly. There is no service and over 75% of the tables are just people sitting and not ordering.

One of the worst breakfast places I've ever been to. The lady making the cappuccino was clueless about coffee. She just poured an espresso shot over some warm milk (which had been sitting in the pitcher getting watery) and then dumped a load of chocolate powder on it without asking. Then, our order was forgotten about. We had to ask for it after a while of waiting. The waitress apologised kindly, bless her soul, but then gave us two dishes that we did not even order. We ate it out of pity for her, but barely made it through the meal because it was disgusting . Sorry, I have nothing good to say about the place.

If I could give negative stars I could. This cafe is honestly the worst food I have ever had, it would be sickening to even serve this to a dog. The mushrooms, brocolli, egg and tomato were so cold you would've thought it came out the fridge. My friends eggs supposedly came with avocado, but I'm yet to see an avocado be that shade of green. It's honestly surprising that this place is even open. Avoid this place at all costs, you are better off starving.

Wanted to post a review because the service from the young lad called Ryan was exemplary. He was so polite and attentive, even at 4am. Made our morning! Had a proscuitto croissant from the deli and was very nice. Not sure what all the bad reviews are about.

First of all - don’t fall for the “kids eat free” advertising…. Apparently only after 11. Not clear enough on the airport posters. Do not order the pancakes…. Lumpy and rock hard, awful, plus small portion size for a “stack”. Cutlery was all bent too (probably cos others used them on the rock hard pancakes). Coffee ok-ish. Airport prices too - but at least if the food was good it would make it ok (it wasn’t). Guy who served us was good and helpful.

Luckily I'm not often disappointed by a meal out (and I should have read the reviews first) but sadly the Sunny Side Cafe is anything but a ray of sunshine. We decided to give it a shot because the queues everywhere else were lengthy but it was a poor choice. For a start the prices are extortionate, at £14 for a veggie breakfast and £3.50 for a small coffee, but more than that the portions are small and food below average. My veggie breakfast included sweet beans and a depressed fried egg with toast being an extra option that I didn't take. We also received a breakfast burrito for £11 and this was small enough that more food had to be purchased. On the plus side the staff were helpful and reasonably efficient despite the place being packed to the gills. Sadly such apparent popularity isn't a sign of quality and you'd be better served going elsewhere. Would not recommend.

Make sure you’ve got plenty of time to kill before ordering food because you’ll be waiting a long time

First time here and I had high hopes. Queue was huge, which made me think it must be ok then. Sat at the high bar looking out into the airport, so I could watch the world go by. Ordered using the QR code and paid. Sat waiting, 20 minutes go by, queue has all but gone. 6 people working behind the counter, 1 is delivering hot plates food, the rest, well let’s say they were having a good time. I couldn’t get anyone’s attention, without leaving my bags and then loosing my seat. Another 10 minutes go by and still sat waiting. Now you may think I had ordered a large plate of hot goodness. But no, a cheese and tomato croissant and a Coke Zero. I ask the couple next to me, if they could watch my seat and bags while I go to the counter. Lovely couple said yes, and watched my every move. (Well done them) At the counter everyone, but the young lad who was delivering food to tables. Ignored me, all seemed to have stuff to do. But there was no one at the counter 🤷‍♂️ The lad serving the tables, comes back and asked if he could help. Why yes you can please. He tells another my order and finally it’s on its way. But I need to stay at the counter to collect. Thankfully the couple aren’t in a rush. Coke Zero is Coke Zero, all be it a tad warmer than I’d have liked. The croissant was rubbery and the tomato was cold. On the menu it didn’t say that it was going to be heated up. But ok I thought, plus I just want my food. Yeah not great Would I come again? I fly out of here every other couple of weeks, I may have to. But I definitely won’t be ordering the croissant

My wife and I went to the sunny side cafe for breakfast before our flight. We feel as if we've been completely mugged off and made a huge mistake going there.. ordered 2 cooked breakfast, 2 coffees and toast, £42.00 total cost. My wife's plate and food was contaminated with avocado so we sent it back. The staff's reaction was " it's only avocado, I'll change the plate". Anyway 10 mins pass and I have to go to the kitchen and ask for my wife's breakfast. My food was disgusting, not fit for a dog. The sausage was hard, overcooked, the bacon was greasy and barely cooked, scrambled eggs were watery whilst the beans were cold. My wife took two mouth falls of food and left the entire breakfast. For £42.00 we would seriously expect something better than this, it's nothing but day light robbery and certainly not worth the £42 spent. I will be emailing Head Office on my return because it just wasn't good enough. Be careful before you spend your money in this establishment, there are other outlets to use which we will do in the future.

An oasis of brightness and relative calm in the ever-busy Stanstead airport departures lounge. I took a seat and ordered online from my table. The service was swift, the food was fresh, the staff were friendly. Sourdough toast came with the proper amount of butter, and it was warmed too so immediately spreadable. The pancakes with mango and chantilly cream were filling yet refreshing. Nicely done!

Was craving an English breakfast before we flew out on Sunday 7th April. Thought we would try this place - the lady serving us failed to tell me they didn't have any eggs with the breakfast. We were half way through eating when we thought it was odd that there were no eggs but then again it didn't come with toast neither ..when I checked the menu online (as it had just switched to brunch menu so I couldn't see what was included), it should have included 2 eggs. I asked another staff member and he said there was no fried eggs but scrambled (this was not offered neither) . I made a complaint to the lady serving us, she got her manager - who oddly couldn't give me any money back and said it had to go to head office, I am still Waiting for money back for an overpriced breakfast with missing items!!! And now, I have no contact details neither... UPDATE: I managed to find somewhere to give feedback/review and have since had a refund.

Awful food, I had a baguette and it was clearly not fresh. The bread was cold and soggy. The tomatoes were tasteless and the bacon, well, it was barely cooked!

Had breakfast before our flight. This is the worst breakfast we have eaten. We ordered breakfast and should of come with fried eggs and we got scrambled instead which was sloppy and cold. I told the waitress and she replied they do not do fried eggs. Coffee came in a paper cup. We paid £38 and left still hungry. Sausages were cheap and bacon cheap and streaky. Beans luke warm. Awful breakfast.

Pancakes were barely 3 inches in diameter and were £12. That’s all that came with it were 3 small pancakes and cream. They were definitely pulled out of a freezer and put in a microwave. Not worth it at all. Stood at the counter for 10 min and was ignored. Another woman came up to the center register and was helped immediately. Guy was very passive. Very cramped area as well. Hard to find a place to sit. Avoid this place.

Absolutely an awful place. Staff seems angry and apathetic, food is microwaved and no flavor. How do you mess up bacon?! You’d have a better time going across the way to Burger King than this joint.

Service was pleasant and friendly. Food average at best. Mainly luke warm, pretty much cold chips, overcooked scrambled egg, no bread / toast (though actually tasty). You know they have a captive audience and it’s going to be expensive. But wouldn’t these companies feel a bit better about what they offer if they appeared to put even a little bit of effort into making the customer feel like they care?! Perhaps not. It really feels sometimes like the policy is just serve whatever we think we'll get away with, and we’re not really bothered what the customers think anyway, there’s 90 thousand more passengers coming through here today! It’s basically pretty poor! :(

I don’t understand why so many negative comments are related to this place. Food is good. Coffee is strong, nice interior. Nice people behind the counter. Very nice relaxing music as background. At the end this is a airport coffee shop not Michelin star restaurant. RECOMMENDED

Abhorrent. I am at a loss for words. Hubby and I were looking for some pre-holiday lovin', and stumbled upon, the deceptively normal looking sunny side cafe. I would not recommend to my worst enemy. Awful food (just quite frankly disgusting - I mean how do you mess up pancakes and eggs on toast??), small portions (although I suppose that was a blessing in disguise!), food came cold and far too overpriced. Set us off on the wrong foot for our holiday. Of course we weren't expecting michélin, but please Sunnyside. £13 for eggs on toast is criminal. and probably would taste better in a prison. This is the only bad review I have ever written, I normally am not compelled to write nasty reviews but honestly I have never had a worse experience than at this establishment. I left the Sunnyside cafe, rainy, cold, and quite frankly, scarred.

They used to have good barista, but they got some diversity hire that cannot even close the cups, not to mention tamp the coffee.

The prosciutto and mozzarella croissants are HIDEOUS. They should not be sold or consumed. I had to throw them away, and nearly vomited. Avoid like the plague.

The food was okay, nothing extraordinary. The service can be improved for sure, specially the system for delivering the order. I could see they deliver at the table for some customers, but not everyone. I am wondering why? It was a little bit frustrating have to waiting the order standing while the spot you’ve looked previously has been taken. I might say the sound ambient was nice and the seats good. About the service, it seems the staff aren’t happy there.

My cafe of choice at this airport. Always had good and quick service. Breakfasts get me through to lunch fine and by airport standards prices are fine.

We had breakfast at this airport restaurant and it was average. We've not had breakfast here before hence the main reason to go there. It has a variety of dishes including all-day breakfast options. I went with the eggs benedict (they call it eggs benny) and it was very average. The pricing is a bit higher for the quality of food which is expected for an airport restaurant.

I can not give zero stars. However I'll give one. Way too expensive. Avoid.

Dont listen to these 2 star reviews! What's wrong with people?! This place is lovely! Amazing aura and atmosphere. The service was great the ladies are SO nice. The food is actually super yummy and they have a KILLER hot 🔥 chocolate 🍫 😋 !!!! I mean the hot chocolate is so dang good that on my latest visit a couple days ago half the seats of people sitting had hot cocoas as well as a about 6 tables where people had finished and left had empty hot choc mugs left on the table. They are SO good. Served with all the trimmings ie marshmallows, whipped cream, etc as well as a half a flake chocolate 🍫 bar!!!! Really really good. The salmon bagel was tasty and the full English is good decent all around spin on the classic. They have awesome artisan sandwiches... ice creams.... the works. Do NOT listen to the reviews. This place is so much better then 2 stars what an insult to have pinned that on them. Give them a chance and go try them yourself!!!

I didn’t eat the “big breakfast” I returned it as soon as it came out, I was to afraid too eat it. Also they could not refund me my money at the till, I have to wait 10 days for HR to do it ?!?!?

Doesn’t deserve even a 1 star. Disgusting food, avocado toast is ab avocado sauce on cold mushy slice of bread.

Nothing amazing, Will try somewhere diferent next time. We had a hot filled crossiant and an eggs benedict. Crossiant came out instantly with no cutlery. Eggs benedict came out 5 minutes later. Food was waited to the table but had to wait in line to collect the coffees? Eggs benedict was with fried as poached not available? All just a bit odd and nothing speciel about the food quality. On a positive the coffee was fairly decent.

This is their vegan breakfast, I can't recommend you try this place. After several people asked them to turn the music down, they turned it off, which did help with the atmosphere. They did give us a refund for the breakfast though - apparently someone wasn't paying attention in the kitchen and added a fried egg to it.

Leathery sausages, rubbery bacon and middle-aged eggs served with some chips flung on top of them. At least one sausage was cooked earlier in the week. Served by disinterested staff on a wobbly table, toast and tea was extra. The music was too loud and the servers job was mainly apologising for bringing you the wrong order. The coffee was extra hot, probably to compensate for the lack of any flavour. Total bill £20. I'd recommend licking the toilet door handles before I'd recommend this place.

I asked for a coffee in a real cup as I wanted to sit in. Barista filled a paper mug, made a mess pouring it in a real cup. Proceeded to throw the paper cup away. Facepalm.

Somehow every ingredient on the baguette was the worst version of that I've ever had, put it all together and that's a real concoction. They forgot my coffee which then took an age to come. All for sky high prices - avoid

Buena taza de café de doble carga. Algo cara la comida pero dentro de lo esperable en un aeropuerto. El local es amplio y menos concurrido que los demás según parecía en ese momento. La comida en la carta cara pero tienen oferta para comer los niños gratis si se consume cierta cantidad de dinero creo recordar. Hay pantalla dentro para seguir las puertas de embarque de los vuelos. El curasán relleno de queso y tomate está bien.

Arguably the worst cooked breakfast I’ve ever had and yet paid the most. For a laugh try the avocado on toast… has no avocado just some slimy mess. Demanding a refund and got attitude and the insistence that a refund will take 10 days… I bet the money never turns up. Horrendous!
