I ordered the beef and king prawn satay with fried rice. It came with no vegetables and drowned in sauce. I usually get this meal with vegetables In and it's lovely. My partner normally always orders a meal too but tonight he was getting a different takeaway but when he gets a Chinese with me he always gets his without veg (always sweet & sour Cantonese). Because my partner phoned and collected my order they decided to assume I wanted no vegetables in my meal and didn't put them in. I phoned the takeaway to ask why my meal had no vegetables and they said it was because he usually doesn't have them in. If we didn't want vegetables in our meal we always ask for it. Really bad of the chefs to just assume this and it has ruined the curry completely. I was not offered an alternative or discount on my next order. Very disappointing and I won't be back.

What has happened to this place - ready to give it another try but spoke to a friend who said AVOID. This was the best Chinese for miles but now the worst and am sure they cannot survive on the small amount of trade they are getting now. Why do they not do something about it. Their last cook was fantastic but this one must be a builder by trade, certainly can't cook.

As it’s the first time I have tried a Chinese in Newton aycliffe I am going to say the chicken chow mien is absolutely beautiful I will be ordering again

I am currently very poorly with food poisoning from a munchy box in which I had last night. I am not happy about this and I think it's an absolute disgrace!

Fantastic Munchy Box… my son and I agree out of 4 Chinese takeaways in the area we’ve tried after recently moving here, this is by far our favourite, and the best value for money! This is now going to be our go to. Keep up the good work ❤️

Went in for a takeaway last night and when we got home found that the food was terrible. Ordered chicken & chips and the chips were terrible, tasted like they had been re-heated several times and they definitely weren't fresh, the chicken was very poor as well. Also ordered sausage & chips and received ONE sausage? The chips with this were exactly the same and uneatable. The only good thing about both dishes was the gravy. Definitely the worse Chinese meal ever and will not be back. Very very very poor for such a simple dish :(

Having been a Sunny House customer as long as we've lived in Aycliffe we used them for the final time. Occasionally they get the order wrong and normally they see us right but tonight after receiving an order missing a dish we were called a liar by the rather unpleasant person in the shop before they hung up on us. Apparently it had been quality checked by three people and we were wrong! I mean, have you ever seen three people bagging up orders in a small town Chinese takeaway?

Very disappointed. Soup had no flavour. Meat on both meals were un chewable.

Not bad food really, but super small portions. Some of the chicken balls has clearly been heated up from the day before as we ordered 5pm, the second they opened. You would expect all fresh food. Disappointing as the food is actually nice... needs more consistency and better portions!!!

15.80 for a munch box. 2 chicken balls and 2 wings. The Bix was filled with chips, noodles and rice

Absolutely horrible experience the food is nice but my fiance picked up one of the curry tubs which cracked open from the bottom of the poly and burn her hand so I phoned up and said what can we do I am not a doctor, this is getting took further to health and safety this is beyond a joke

Food is always good and fast delivery.

Really disappointing. My first meal from this establishment and all I could taste in my curry, from the first mouthful, was sugar - yuk!! It was very sweet! Why is anyone's guess - who needs sugar in their curry? Was it even real sugar or some other artificial, highly dubious substitute? Delivery was very quick, but disappointed overall.

Got chow mein and rolls. All we could taste was sugar and 7 peices of meat in a house special chow Mein

As posted previously a lot of the reviews on TA are out of date. I wouldn't have gone here up until a month ago when my neighbour mentioned how good the food was. So we decided to give it a try. The food was lovely and a huge improvement on the last time I tried Sunny House (@ 18 months ago). We've been back a few times and had, lots of different dishes including ribs, salt & pepper prawns, Black Bean Special, Chicken, Ginger & spring onion, Singapore noodles.... etc. All of which have been excellent. If you've been put off by previous experience or other reviews it's worth giving it another try. I don't get deliveries, always collect, so I can not comment on how good the delivery service is.

Food was really bland and tasteless. Wouldnt order from here again.

Ordered on Wednesday, there were problems & I rang them twice on their landline, both times it went to voicemail so I left them a message asking them to ring me back. It is now Sunday & I'm still waiting. We were told to expect delivery at 19:10, it was 19:30 and half of my meal was missing. I won't use them again.

Reviews on TA are outdated as huge improvements at this place. Very good for a long time now and have recommended it to many people. Best Chinese take away for miles. Reluctant to give a rave revue in case it gets too busy.

Food and delivery did go down hill a bit. We stopped using sunny house. But they have sorted everything out and the food is better than before and quick delivery. If you didn't like it. Tey again. Best Chinese in Aycliffe

Ordered a munchie box to share with my daughter asked for no prawn toast to be put in it and specifically told them I had allergies! Delivery came with prawn toast! Phoned was told another one would be sent out within 1 and a half hours... this time came and went phoned again to be told they hadn’t sent one out and it was a trainee who took the call I failed to see how that was my problem. Then the lovely lady informed me that all the chefs would do is take the prawn toast out of the box anyway (health and safety issue for sure who I will be making aware) did manage to get another one sent out had to give the original one back half eaten as my daughter doesn’t have allergies and I saw no reason for her to wait!!!! Shocking service and shocking/disturbing ways when catering for people with allergies!!!

Tried several times to place an order but told they don't deliver to my postcode yet I live only 4 minutes away!!!

This was the worst food I have ever had delivered. The food was tasteless, the chicken in the chow mein looked like prepacked cheap plastic chicken of poor quality. The prawn crackers left a disgusting after taste. All went in the bin, what a waste of money and a disappointing family get together. Will not be ordering from here again.

Worst Chinese ever ... ordered food come cold and stuff missing when phoned up was told would get the stuff next time 😡😡😡 as we too far away so why deliver flyers around our street.... NEVER AGAIN 😡😡😡😡😡dried up and horrible

Very surprised reading the reviews because my husband and I order from here regularly and we’ve never experienced any problems. The food always arrives on time (often early) and nothing has ever been missing. It is our favourite Chinese in the area as the food is always very tasty. It’s a shame people are quick to criticise and slow to praise. We will happily continue ordering from this restaurant.

I ordered food and charged twice in my card, staff not very helpful in refunding stick in phone for ages to then be told if is restaurants responsibility to refund. Have to also spend £10 or more to pay by card and there is no cash point near the shop. Food is quite good, but better Chinese takeaways on the town

Ordered the munch box what a load of #### they didn't send my crackers and my chips that I paid for when phoned up to complain all they said was they were busy. I DON'T CARE! I have paid for my food so I want what I paid for quality of the munch box very poor for the price

Searched for sunny house STAFFORD and got to this website. Ordered and paid for my meal only to find out they’re in freaking Durham. Location is not clear on their website either.

Order food online, came within an hour, which I accept for a Saturday night. Delivery was good, food hot. Only complaint about food was curry watery, but did taste nice. Part of online order was prawn crackers, was charged for them, open bag there was none. Called Sunny House, assistant not the most charming but advised would get some out. They arrived 10 minutes after we finished our food. Food nice, customer service poor.

On three consecutive occasions sunny house has forgotten items. Ironically after the first time they said ring next time and they'd include the missing items free next time. After the second occasion I rang the order through and told them on my last two orders they'd forgotten items. You couldn't make it up; they only then failed to include the items a third time. Waited a further 45 minutes for them to deliver them despite saying they'd come straight back (we're a few minutes drive away). The food is pretty decent but three failures to deliver items you've paid for is unacceptable. Seems like a common mistake based on other reviews.

Had food poisoning after eating the curry king Prawn a few months ago but in a mad moment thought we would give it another try avoiding the curry. Soup was nice, sweetand sour chicken was in a watery tasteless sauce and the chicken was bland tiny pieces and could have been anything. Deep fried crispy king Prawn was nothing like it used to be and cannot see that this food was cooked by a Chinese chef. Cost was £28 will never go here again. Did not look clean. What is happening to Chinese food in this area as we cannot find anywhere that does it well?

If I could give it 0 stars I would. Munchy box ribs are a joke!!! They were so small you could have compared them to rat ribs. Really poor quality, the prawn toast was literally toast with no prawn. Will NEVER order from this place again.

Order took ages to come (2 hours and 20 mins) and items were missing. Food was ok but won't be ordering again.

Just ordered again tonight after a lovely meal the other week. Ordered salt and pepper chips with my meal and got sent plain and there was not one but 2 long black hairs wrapped around my chicken. Really disappointed as I was looking forward to It but haven't been able to eat it because of the hair...

For the 3rd time in the last 5 orders, meals were missing.How difficult can it be to cook what’s on the printed sheet, the packer could double check it to make sure everything is there before it leaves the shop.Another family evening meal ruined waiting for the missing items to be delivered, which took over 40 minutes to arrive, meanwhile the rest of the food had gone cold. No apology , no refund , no interest from the manager.Time to find a new takeaway, don’t think sunny house will be in business for much longer , if my experience and the other reviewers are a reflection of the standard of service people of Newton Aycliffe have to put up with

After having items missing a couple of weeks ago i decided to give it another go tonight. I order 2 portions of crispy chicken with seaweed in garlic butter. Arrived slightly late and there is no seaweed in the meals. I rang up and thevirl that answered apologised. Tbhi couldn't be bothered to see if they were gonna do anything as im not prepared to wait again for food to be delivered. Will not use again!!!

Not happy at all! Ordered some food then decided to quickly nip to the shop because my Mum was home. As I got back I saw a white car drive off and I had two missed calls so I rang back only to be given grief from their delivery driver. He said that he knocked two times then phoned me then called the restaurant. Then he told me that he’d “taken it back and someone else can deliver it because I don’t have time to sit around and wait for people to ignore me!” Then hung up before I could explain that my Mum is DEAF!!! I called the restaurant and explained the situation because I was so angry that my Mum was being accused of ignoring him when she can’t hear! We have a specially adapted doorbell that she can hear but the shop explained that he didn’t say anything about a doorbell. I hope this shop realise that it is not acceptable to speak to anyone like this let alone on of their customersI did, however, appreciate that the owner called me back to apologise and offer me a “free meal when we next order”If we ever order again

We ordered from this takeaway regularly up until a few months ago when we had a bad meal. We deciding tonight to give it another shot. Oh dear! Even worse than last time. The prices have gone up and they don't offer the freebie crackers or spring rolls any more. The spare ribs were a couple short, guessing by the room left in the container; the Singapore rice noodles was full of disgusting, cheap luncheon meat; and the beef in black bean sauce was way too sweet (when is black bean sauce sweet and not salty?) and with no chilli kick - it has a chilli next to it on the menu! They must have missed it out - perhaps it meant carrots lol because there were loads of carrots!!! The beef was so shredded it was almost like mince! We won't be giving this takeway another chance. It was even worse than last time. What a shame it used to be so good. Given the horrible sticky floor and dirty windows we should have walked straight out again!

Used to use this takeaway on a regular basis. Food started being delivered very late and cold. When pointed this out the management weren’t interested. I won’t be using again and wouldn’t advise you too. Reading other hygiene comments I don’t know why I ever did. Certainly have gone way down hill.

After cancelling birthday plans due to the flu, we ordered from here. Our food came without rice, when we called up about it the woman was rude and did not make any attempt to rectify the situation. After being loyal customers for years we will be ordering from elsewhere from now on.

Sticky floor when you enter. You can stand at the counter and see in the kitchen (not a good idea if your hungry) as you wouldnt eat again. When we got the food home, well where do ya begin tasteless, cold, and part of someone elses order. And after warmin the food up and eatin it i bet they are glad they didnt get it. The place has changed hands a few times over the years and as it changes it gets worse. Ive talked to a few of the past staff and they say they wouldnt eat from there. I no i won't be eatin anymore food from there. You hear rumors about amimals around the bins but you will get this if the rubish is not in the bins with the lids down. Please avoid the place unless you like been ill.

ordered tonight again as its our regular and the little girl on the phone got the order wrong then kicked off with us so we will never order from there again!!!!
