Had takeaway from here while visiting friends who are regulars. Food was ready at the agreed time and service was friendly. We had a Pad Thai, a stir fry, and a Penang Curry. It was the best Thai food I’ve had outside of Thailand.

I ordered the chicken satays to start with the chicken pad prik and sticky rice for mains. It was the tastiest takeaway I’ve had in years. Everything was made fresh and came out presented well and with some lovely sauces and chilli on the side! Will definitely be returning!

I had the chicken massaman, and i’m an extremely fussy eater, I don’t like spices or anything spicy, but I can honestly say that it was one of the nicest dishes i’ve ever had. Not spicy, very mild and everything was cooked to absolute perfection! Definitely recommend the restaurant as the staff are so lovely and then to top it all off the dishes are absolutely beautiful!

Well, I am going to go out on a limb here and say this was the best Thai food I have ever had in this country. I am not an aficionado, but have had plenty of Thai meals. This was excellent. We were the first in the restaurant on a cold and windy Thursday evening, but the food was super fresh and piping hot as it had just been cooked. Starters good, but my main course of chicken and prawn pad Thai was excellent, as was the chicken penang. The main man was charming and chatted to us about Richmond and in particular the beautiful building we were in after I had expressed an interest in the architecture ( such beautiful windows) , the rest of the service was good, lovely young waitress. Restaurant became pretty full as the evening went on, which was nice and a little surprising given it was a cold, windy and potentially wet night. I would certainly return and would be more than happy if the restaurant was near where I live.

What a lovely little find, we found ourselves looking for dinner on an overnight stop on route to Scotland, a quick Google search and we found Sunitras, the restaurant was small, but the atmosphere was friendly and relaxed, almost like dining in a friend's lounge, the staff were fantastic and very attentive, then we got to the food, the menu is small, but certainly not lacking in options, between the 4 of us we had 3 different starters and 4 different mains, all were packed full of flavour and tasted amazing, if it wasn't for the 4 hour drive, we would certainly become regular customers, although we do intend to be back some day.

We have eaten in and ordered take away from Sunitra's. The food is really tasty and always great service. The takeaway was packed up nicely so it was hot and fresh when we got it home. The chicken panang is my favourite, nice amount of spice. The rice is also perfect. We love it. Great treat. Xx

A group of us came to this restaurant. We all ordered different meals from the menu, and everyone commented on how excellent the food was. Everything was nicely presented, the meals were delicious and cost including drinks was very reasonable making for an affordable meal out. It is a small restaurant but service was excellent and the staff were friendly, helpful and very welcoming, and regularly came back to the table to enquire if we wanted more drinks and to ensure we were enjoying our meal. Richmond has some very nice restaurants and this could well be one of the best. Certainly it is somewhere we all intend to revisit whether as a group or individually. I would definitely recommend pre booking a table as there is only limited seating. Thank you Sunitras for providing us with a really enjoyable and delicious meal in a very friendly and welcoming environment.

Team J invited Team K out for supper choosing Thai food for this month’s supper I have to say what a fabulous choice. By a country mile the best Thai food I ve ever tasted, the combination of spices and herbs are perfectly blended and presented, this is years of mums teaching daughters the art of Thai cuisine and amen to that. Friendly greeting, attentive waitressing(without being overwhelming) swift service for starters, just the right gap in between courses, and super tasty food at reasonable prices. What more is there to say. Bordering on perfection.

I attempted to order a takeaway, I was abruptly put “on hold” sat and listened to a conversation with a customer for 5 minutes, then got hung up on! I called back and asked if I could order for collection, I was (abruptly) told they had “sold out”…at 5:50pm on a Saturday night…?! I think some phone manners are needed and perhaps better stock reserves!

We were lucky to be slipped in at short notice having not been under the new ownership. Very happy we could be accommodated as the food was exceptional. Service was very attentive and the whole experience spot on. The decor has been upgraded and now provides a modern relaxed atmosphere. The bill was very reasonable for the delicious food we had. I would recommend booking as the place was full by the time we left.

Great little Thai restaurant. Owner Dave is great and the chef, his lovely wife Sunitra, makes amazing Thai food. Although menu states no gluten free options, when we asked Dave he came up with loads of gluten dairy free options for me. Food was delicious, well presented and appeared quickly. I had Tom Yum Kung Soup (hot & spicy king prawns) followed by Kaeng Ka Ree Kai (yellow Thai curry) OH had Poh Pia Tod (Thai spring rolls) followed by Chicken Nammahhoi. Well worth a visit when in Richmond. Probably best to book to guarantee a table.

We have visited our local Thai now on several occasions with friends and just us as a couple and each time the food has been amazing , we love it here and can't wait for our next visit . Highly recommended!

Everything about Sunitra's was fantastic. The food was delicious, attractively presented, very fresh and plentiful. My friend chose a vegetarian and spicy dish and I chose a mild dish and we were both well catered for. The service was excellent, friendly and unobtrusive in a very relaxed atmosphere. We never felt rushed in any way. We would definitelty recommend Sunitra's and look forward to a return visit. Thank you all for a lovely evening.

Wonderful warm welcome and stunning tasting meals. Excellent balance of spices, great advice given on level of heat. All meats were succulent, vegetables fresh and tender, both cooked to perfection.

After having had Sunitra's recommended by a work colleague, we turned up unannounced as the owner unlocked the door, we were welcomed in and offered a table in the window. Perfect. The service was brilliant, the food, all home made, was wonderful, hot, fresh and tasty. Not overpriced either we didn't think, altho nothing is cheap these days! We will be back!!!

Fantastic choice and great tasting food served with a smile in quaint, quintessential building. Between us we had; fish cakes, chicken satay, spicy papaya salad, followed by chicken & cashews, phad prik, jungle curry & phad thai, washed down with the house sauv blanc & thai beers. Service, food, ambience was spot on! A great place for a celebration meal or a quick bite of loveliness to eat. We all LOVED it and will definitely be back.

Fantastic meal, fresh, tasty and beautifully presented. The owners were very welcoming, service was friendly and efficient. I’d say it was the best Thai food I’ve eaten.

We loved our meal here. I had the red curry, my son had green curry and my wife had prawn noodles. When I first saw the curries my heart sank a little because they looked slightly watery but I needn't have worried - they both tasted sensational. Both the meat and the veg in the curry were deliciously succulent. The quality and taste were superb. My wife loved hers too. Nice ambience. Highly recommended.

Wow! What an amazing little restaurant Sunitra's is. From the minute you walk in, the cosy atmosphere and welcoming vibe is very inviting and you immediately feel relaxed. The service and attention to detail was spot on. Then there's the food, again Wow! It was absolutely incredible! Extremely tasty, well presented and cooked to perfection. I could not recommend this restaurant highly enough and cannot wait to return, which will be very soon.

What a beautiful restaurant, with a warm and friendly atmosphere. The food presentation was excellent, and it tasted delicious. Excellent service from the staff and the owner came over to see how we were doing. Some of his spices are imported from his father in laws farm in Thailand, and everything is made fresh. The prices are very reasonable and I’ll definitely be visiting again soon. 😋.

Please be aware when reading reviews for Sunitras - they have been open just under a year. The previous restaurant using the same premises was called Taste of Thailand. Some reviews relate to the previous restaurant ( check the dates) and they retired last year. The restaurant has been very tastefully updated & is very clean and fresh - all new furniture. The food is fantastic, authentic Thai food cooked by Sunitra - and waitresses are lovely and very attentive. Give it a try - you won’t be disappointed.

We came for long weekend from the Isle of Wight to see friends. Staff very helpful and attentive. The food was excellent, good size portions and very tasty. The best thai food outside of Thailand.. Highly recommend this restaurant... Definitely return next time we are in Richmond..

The food at Sunitras is brilliant, very fresh and incredibly tasty. The staff are very warm and welcoming. Sunitra herself is so lovely and you can tell she is passionate about her food and the restaurant! We have tried the king prawns and Tom yum soup - both so good we’ve had them twice! For mains we have tried the jungle curry and the pad Thai which were both delicious. We also tried the lamb shank in a massaman sauce which was so rich in flavour, I cannot stop thinking about it! I cannot wait for our next visit ☺️

I wasn't sure what to expect given the mixed reviews. The restaurant is tired looking but if you can see past that the food is really good. The service was good, very polite but also trying to help out in the kitchen so I can see why people think it's slow. Our waitress was very attentive otherwise. Starters of dumplings and ribs were excellent, as was Pad Thai and Thai green prawn curry with coconut rice. The flavours are really good, seasoned well and nothing could be added. The kitchen does a great job. The price including a bottle of wine was about 30% less than I've paid for any meal recently.

Don't be put off by the slightly old fashioned decor. This has to be the tastiest Thai I've had. The coconut rice was delicious, I had some beef and rice combo and the flavours were amazing. For me the portions could be a little bigger, but maybe I'm just greedy! Price was good value.
