The sun flower house is fab, food is great and the lady at the front of house (blonde hair) is brilliant,so welcoming ming and great at her job!

Have tried all the local Chinese restaurants. All but one on multiple occasions. This one is our regular unless we need delivery. The food tastes the freshest and least greasy. Staff are happy to tweak dishes to make them hotter etc. Would be good if they did a salt and pepper box for when I fancy a spicy beige buffet, but their hot and sour soup makes up for it.

Regular here, having tried all the different local Chinese restaurants. Not very greasy and the veg tastes the freshest. Recommend the Hot & Sour soup.

We have been regularly customers and ordering food every week. Lovely lady usually servers us wasn’t there today.we never had problems before until today I spoke to the lady who “ works there 15 years” and the “kitchen never heard of that order before”. Having an attitude towards your customers is not appropriate if you are at the customer service job. Such a shame but the owners should be aware of the service their staff are providing.

We have a Chinese every couple of weeks as a treat and have been very impressed with the quality of service from the lady's on the counter and the lovely food prepared by the kitchen. Best in dereham.

I have used the Sunflower house takeaway on several occasions and the food is always fantastic. It's great when you order certain dishes and you know that it will taste the same as on previous occasions. Friendly staff in front of house who always do their best to please.

Tonight our usual Chinese takeaway was shut so tried another with good hygiene, Made our order my Hubby drove all the way back to Toftwood to discover no chicken chow mein! ( His meal) he phoned back to be greeted by a rude woman saying not being funny you could have taken it out of the bag!! Not sure who would phone up an lie about a £5 meal who live in Toftwood as it was a faff having to go back an then half his meal got cold. He went back an they said they found his Chicken chow mein in the kitchen. MAYBE check with the kitchen before ya bloody rude. An thanks for ruining our meal together as i ate mine before he even got back! As I weren’t reheating when he eventually got back. Doubt we will be back.

First time using this Chinese as I’m new to the area, came in this evening there was a lovely girl with dark hair and glasses at the desk taking orders she was very helpful and helped me pick a few dishes she recommended the satay chicken which was lush, the food overall was very tasty

Food was disappointing, not much discernable flavour in a gloopy sauce. Maybe they were having an off day as it was a Monday. Service from the front of house was great and nice to walk out a takeaway not stinking of cooking.

Only Chinese open tonight we were all hungry so we gave sunflower house a chance....... When we got are order 15mins late. There was a sauce missing and everything was bland and Luke warm no flavour. I rang the Chinese to complain and all I got from the lady on the phone was well you did get free prawn crackers

I came in last night and was undisided what to have but the young lady behind the counter with dark hair and glasses was really helpful, thank you.

Food is fab, front of house staff are hit and miss. The girl with dark hair and glasses and a little large is very abrupt and rude.

Lovely well cooked food at a good price. Staff are always lovely and place always seems busy. Well presented and clean. never had an issue.

Quick, efficient service - clean and tidy waiting area with seating. Excellent food at a good price - very generous portions - sharing meant less than £6 per head! Really recommend.

The lovely lady serving was so friendly polite and efficient. She is an asset to your establishment. Food was hot and yummy.

Worst Chinese I have ever had all sloppy and swimming in grease and had no taste to it. Sweet and sour tasted of vinegar. Will never go back

The best Chinese food in Dereham. Quick service, really lovely staff and the food is piping hot and tasty. I can’t fault it. We have tried other Chinese take away outlets but none locally are as good as Sunflower House.

4 stars for service as the young lady who take the orders at weekend s is amazing very friendly 3 stars for food as its touch and go weather its nice or not and why do you not deliver when all the others do ????????

Started using Sunflower by accident as our regular Chinese takeaway was closed. Although further to travel the food on the 3 occasions has been excellent. Fresh, well cooked, not swimming in grease or too salty. Good selection of vegetarian dishes and it didn't seem to a problem removing egg from the veggie Singapore noodles. Portion content is adequate too. Safe to say this is now our 'go to' takeaway. Photo attached is my dish of chilli and salt tofu on veggie Singapore noodles. Delicious 👌

Excellent customer service and big portion sizes for a good price

Wanted their house chow mien, had better. No real flavour apart from curry powder. Maybe this was a Sunday night rush with very little thought. No veg just soggy noodles and very over priced for what I got. I need to look else where.

My husband and I have just enjoyed an excellent meal from here. My husband had a duck curry with so much meat it was enormous. I had King prawn curry and I loved it. I ordered it at 4.30 by phone and picked it up at 4.45. I was served by a lovely young lady and the food stayed nice and hot right to the end. I was very impressed by how nice and clean the place was too. We will definitely be going again.

Been going to this Chinese for years the food is great and always on time and never a disappointment , the girl on the counter who’s been there for multiple years is always a pleasure to see , great customer service with a smile . I usually grab a Chinese on a Thursday and have never been disappointed ! Great Chinese

Just been here. Ordered food at 5.45 and with over an hour,food wasn't ready. Cancelled food after 1 & 1/2 hours. No proper apology. Won't use again!!

Very sociable, pretty and polite lady took my order (early bird at 4.30pm - first customer of the evening). Food arrived promptly and well wrapped - Was a birthday treat for my Mum. Food was fantastic - hot, tasty and not greasy at all. Compliments to the lady who served me and the kitchen staff too!! 5 out of 5.

Put an Order in at 18:20 got told be hour and half so I rang up an hour and a half later to be told be ok at 19:45 . I arrived at the take away which was full. Went and asked how long it will be as I rang and was told it will be done by 19:45 bare in mind the person I spoke to was a miserable and rude member of staff on the phone For then the lady who was polite who didnt speak to me on the phone went and spoke to another member of staff who took my order and told me these times . From that convosation which I could hear ( they rang at 18:20 ) which I thought was rude to be screaming and shouting about a customer. Obviously they have more and more people infront of me who have been waiting 4 hours for there food and still sitting there . But they continue to take more and more and more orders on the phone ! If you can’t be honest to the customers that are waiting. Then why keep accepting orders UnORGANISED As hell #typical Dereham !

Disappointing tonight. Had to wait and when we did get It cold. Spent 34 pound could not eat.

The food here is amazing, hot and fresh cannot complain, its 100% delicious, However the front desk/ receptionist is rude, arrogant and has completely put me off phoning or walking in again, the young lad that served me in the end with his mask and gloves well done to you, as she hid in kitchen with no PROTECTION, to be a 5* maybe consider your staff??

A bit disappointed never been there before as I'm new to the area ordered my food at 6.45 to be told there's a 45 minute wait which ok, 1 hour in I'm ask what my order was it was back to 8.15 bye mistake.

Love this place. The food is absolutely delicious, fresh and reasonably priced. Service can be a little slow, but it's so worth the wait. Staff are polite and courteous.

Never had a bad meal from here. Parking right outside. Only down side is that can be very slow at weekends as popular choice.

Had a fantastic takeaway hot tasty couldn’t fault it and we are regulars when it comes to Chinese takeaway but had never been to this area before so didn’t know what to expect. Excellent.

Food lovely, service not quite so

Normally this is a great little takeaway but I'm allergic to nuts and asked if I could swap out one of the dishes from a set meal. The owner is usually accommodating but was on holiday and whoever was in charge said no. I think 2 stars reflects my disappointment.

Great tasting authentic cuisine reasonably priced

Rang my order through at 6pm to collect at 7pm arrived at 7pm and 7.35pm still sat waiting for it. What's the point of having telephone ordering if you've not started cooking it at the collection time. Never again will I come here for food.

Always great food, reasonably sized portions but a bit on the expensive side now. Love the family that runs the place, always really friendly and the lady at the front desk only learnt English in the last few years, you can't tell, she's absolutely flawless at it! Personally I consider this the best in Dereham.

The food was good but have had better from here. Ordered takeaway over the phone ..was told of the time would be ready...arrived to collect and still not ready...waited for another 20 minutes. If you are told a time the expectation is to collect at the time or maybe wait a few minutes not 20.

We will only ever go here. Food is not greasy and it’s got flavour. Friendly service and always busy.

Only discovered this place a few weeks ago and is now my takeaway of choice. By far the best I’ve used very consistent quality.

Food is excellent but impossible to get through by phone. Not much point in great food if you can't order it.

Popped in on the spur of the moment, we wasn’t told we’d be sitting there nearly an hour or we’d have left, the lad was trying his best ,but really this isn’t acceptable, and the food was big Standard British Chinese, sadly not on my list for the future

Good food but very long wait and difficult to get through by phone as permanently engaged. (Kept trying for 30 minutes then eventually got through to be put on hold!)

Ordered at 6:55pm. Told it would be ready at 7:45pm. Usual for a Saturday night and fine for us. Went in and paid £45 at 7:35pm. At 8:05 no sign of takeaway so asked about it. Was told nothing more until it finally came out at 8:40pm. At this point the lady said "very sorry" I told her I was disappointed and didn't expect to wait 1hour 45 without warning of delay. No compensation offered at all. The food is good but we won't be going back - we've used Sunflower for 8 years. It was their mistake and they should have managed more than "very sorry".

Placing order was easy, collecting was simple with out unreasonable delay and great friendly welcome. Food hot and tasty. Can’t complain.

Locally favoured takeway. Unfailingly satisfactory with smiley concerned counter service. Always feel welcome. telephone ordering is recommended, because casual callers may have to wait, but for phone orders, timings are good.

Always good in our experience. Friendly. Lemon chicken and crispy chilli beef are our favourites. That's it.

There are better Chinese takeaways in Dereham

After moving to Dereham we'd tried a few takeaways, but none could match the Hot & Cold in Fakenham until we tried the Sunflower House. Amazing food with service to match!!!!

Best Chinese in town! Very helpful! I have a few food allergies and they are so helpful and will adapt food when asked. Joanna knows our order off by heart now - chilli beef in 'special sauce' :)

We use this on a weekly basis, the food is fantastic and very reasonably priced, the waiting times are very good and we haven't had a bad experience

After the last meal from here we weren't going to bother with this place again, however friends came over with food from here and I have to say it was better than the last time. We had a mix of dishes that were nice. Still find the portions a little on the small side and when spending £40plus I think not including the prawn crackers is a mistake. Overall much better food, but still needs to improve before I start to buy from here again.

First visit in yers. Greeted with big smile and very clean waiting area. Very reasonable prices and wide choice. Food was hot and packed with flavor. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. Will order it from here again. Best value take away and quality by far

Came here first time on the 3rd June 2018. Customer service was exceptional. My order came to a bit above what I had on me and straight away they were kind enough to lower the price to what I had. But instead I just got my order above 20 pounds and paid by card. Great service will come back.

We’ve been using this Chinese takeaway for over 10 years any time we’ve tried another local one we always end up returning to Sunflower House no other takeaway comes close to it for the dishes we particularly like. Keep up the good work. It’s busy and yeah sometimes you have to wait a while but you just have to plan that in. It’s because they’re busy, I’d be more concerned if they were very quiet so I’d rather wait and get good food than get crap food within minutes!

amazing service, wonderful workers that are all respectful and kind. the only problem is its a tad pricey, but the kindness really makes up for that in so many ways.
