Polite staff. Quick service and lovely food! Very reasonably priced. Will certainly be using again!

I've been here a few times each time was consistent, food was good and delivered promptly and hot enough we had to leave it stand for a minute. I'm currently going through the range of dishes they have to offer and would recommend you give them a try.

First time ordering from here over the weekend. Food order was taken by a friendly organised lady on the phone. Food arrived 30 or so minutes afterwards. All the dishes were piping hot and freshly cooked. Not greasy like some chineese meals have been from more local establishments. Been searching for a decent chineese takeaway for years and a menu got posted last week so we thought let’s give it a try. We were not disappointed. They were huge portions in each container and we have saved some for later. We will definitely order again and be recommending you guys. Thank-you!

I would like to give an updated review on sun Wah , we ordered mixed Doevres, house special chow mein, beef chow mein, Hk style sweet and sour chicken, egg fried rice, mini veggie spring rolls, chips and curry sauce, I know we are animals 😂, and the food was up there with some of the best Chinese food we have had excellent delivery about 35/40 minutes so happy to recommend this takeaway I have read some recent reviews and they are not anything like our experience there’s only 2 Chinese that we use and so far they both offer restaurant quality superb bank holiday treat

Would give it minus stars if possible. Not ordered in a while so fancied a treat. Was delivered in 10minutes which seemed way too fast as funny as that sounds. Dry chips, gloopy greasy curry sauce. It felt as if it had all been precooked and warmed up in a microwave. No taste at all. Gutted and very disappointed. Not be ordering again

Awful !!!! Arrived 1and 1/2 hours later than they said Chips were terrible like they had been left overnight then microwaved Chicken curry was like gloop thick and horrible, not like usual, absolutely awful, regular customer who will not be ordering again

Foods bloody awful dont bother also hair in food sent images and refused refund. Honestly spend money else where.

This place seemed to be ok at first until tonight when I ordered chicken balls and rice to find black hairs in the batter and in the rice and when I rang to say what I’d found I was told well can you wait for a refund as the drivers are busy wtf I will never go back here I feel sick at the thought of eating greasy black hairs !!!!!

Tried to overcharge by 30 per cent, food was rubbish

Ordered crispy shredded beef in BBQ sauce this was cold and the beef was on top of the sauce not mixed.the prawn crackers was like cardboard.was told delivery would be upto 45 mins .1 hour 10min later I rang up to see where my order was. I was told it was on its way . So when I got it, it was cold and 30 mins late. When I complained they offered to cook it again and send it straight away. I declined there offer so they said next time my order be free. I declined that offer too as I will not be using them again. I did ask if they had a new chef they replied NO so I said maybe you should get 1.ive ordered from these many times and this was my worst meal

We have until now struggled to find decent Chinese food during lockdown, however sun wah are filling a massive void excellent value excellent quality. Excellent service. We have ordered twice now and both times food has been exceptional

Have been ordering from here for a number of years. I normally get a very polite lady answer the phone to take our order. We have spent quite a lot of money here over the past couple of years. On this occasion I had a rude gentleman answer the phone to take my order who in all honesty had as much customer service skills as a dry chicken ball. I spent over £25 and was asked if I wanted free spring rolls or a bottle of coke of which I asked for the coke. The order came without the coke. We rang back to see if it had been displaced but the rude gentleman said oh no it was because you did not specify which drink. If he thought that why didn't he ring back to just double check? This seems to be a bit of a scam to take your money and run. How many more have fell for this unsuspecting trick. Will be ordering from somewhere else now on

a simple mushroom chow main was to oily, brown and to salty. To me was not fresh at all very slimy also. Rang to complain and was told it all fresh like i have never experienced a Chinese before. He asked if i had ate much of the chow main if not to return it. I feel sick at this point! How many people has had this chow main?? I could not return the chow main and do a face to face has my little boy and pup in bed. I will go back tomorrow I

We used to order from here and the food was good. The last time was yesterday and the roast chicken and chips was inedible! The chicken was hard and dry! I called them up and told them and the reply was ‘I asked if you wanted gravy on it and you said no’. My reply was ‘ gravy wouldn’t have made this chicken soft, it’s dried out’. Reply ‘ Well, that’s our chicken and chips, sorry’. END of conversation! Very disappointed. Will not order from here again!

Ordered from here on Friday evening. Food was disgusting . Rice was off . Prawns were soggy. We all ate it and everyone in the house was ill. Spent a lot of money on this Chinese and it was a waste. None of the food we ordered was eatable. Don’t order from here!!

No fatty meat unlike other takeaways. Always fresh and hot. Chicken balls especially nice. Small and not too much batter.

Had to take our food back talks abounds SALT ordered a house fried rice was like slopes pancake rolls 1 was perfect the other taste like earth the chips all I can say is oil field chicken balls all I can say is can chew a tennis ball all in all we used to use sun wa but now never again . I work for nnc and will be taking the pancake roll to the environment health

We've tried a few Chinese takeaways in Ilkeston and this one is lovely!! Always hot food and very very tasty!!! We love the spare ribs! Thought I'd do a review as. It many on here and I think it deserves a shout out!!

Sun Wah is a fantastic find! It's a brilliant takeaway with such an extensive menu, all at really reasonable prices! We've used this Chinese regularly over the past few years and we have never been disappointed. The food is always cooked well, plenty of it and piping hot. They have a great menu with lots and lots of options for every taste and fancy! It's not in an obvious location but that shouldn't be something that puts anyone off. You won't be disappointed!

Great food lots of it as well, the quality is superb the flavors are fantastic. Try this shop if you want a magical Chinese experience.

Food was awful ordered special chow mein and all it was was noodles with tiny pieces of meat! No sauce which it was meant to come in sauce. And the egg fried rice was horrible and all dry. Wouldn't recommend!!

My 3rd and hopefully my last experience of this takeaway was last night (June 6th). On each occasion including yesterday, the sweet and sour sauce has been bland, tasteless and easily mistaken for washing up water and the chicken spongy. The mini vegetable spring rolls were nice though but not enough to discourage me from seeking an alternate Cantonese/Chinese
